Sitting is worse than smoking cigarettes! Are you sitting too much? Some of the simplest things in life are the most difficult to do. If you want to master your life, you need to master the simple things in life, like sitting less.

You might know what you need to do, but the question is, “Are you doing it and living it?”

So many of us take the power of movement for granted, but research shows if you want to live a long and healthy life, you need to sit less and move more.

Worldwide, it is estimated that a sedentary lifestyle is responsible for 6% of coronary heart disease cases, 7% of type 2 diabetes, 10% of breast cancers, and 10% of colon cancers. Most shocking is that, recently, it was reported that inactivity is responsible for more annual deaths than smoking.

Are you sitting too much? If so, it’s time to get up!

The world of technology has created a sedentary culture, where people are sitting and staring at their cell phones, tablets, or computer screens for hours on end.

The effects of this way of life can take a toll on our bodies, both physically and mentally.

Human beings were designed to move, not to sit all day. The book, Get Up!: Why Your Chair Is Killing You And What You Can Do About It, opened my eyes to the negative effects of sitting, and made a huge impact on my life.

In his book, James Levine makes bold claims about the negative effects of sitting, like how sitting is worse than smoking cigarettes! In the words of Nilofer Merchant, “Sitting has become the smoking of our generation.”

Below are four things that you can do in order to motivate yourself to sit less and move more:

1. Track Your Activity

I recommend that you get an activity tracker, something that will allow you to track your overall activity throughout the day. In the past, I used a product called, Fitbit, which is a wireless pedometer, activity, and sleep tracker that monitors and tracks your daily activity.

Now I use a product called, The OURA ring, which is a lot more advanced than a Fitbit. Not only does it track my activity throughout the day, but also the different stages of my sleep, my heart rate, and my body temperature.

A cool feature of the OURA ring is that I have the ability to put it in airplane mode.

One of the biggest negative effects of technology is that it produces dirty electricity. Having too many electromagnetic fields around us, whether that’s by way of a cell phone or a computer, can be seriously harmful to our health.

Dirty electricity can affect everything from our mood, sleep, and energy levels. This is one of the main reasons why I chose to switch from a Fitbit to an OURA ring.

2. Get A Treadmill Desk

If you work from home or are someone that likes to spend a lot of time in front of the computer, investing in a treadmill desk will be a game-changer for you.

I purchased a LifeSpan Treadmill Desk because sitting was killing me. This desk has radically shifted my energy levels throughout my day, improved my mood, and my overall level of productivity.

I use it for a few hours every day, especially when I'm doing calls or webinars. If the Treadmill Desk is too expensive for you, a great alternative is a stand-up desk.

You will probably spend one-third of your life working. If you can make a simple change in your life, from sitting to standing more often while you work, it will have a compounding effect over time.

I value my health above anything else because it allows me to live my life to the fullest and experience optimal levels of happiness, productivity, energy, and success.

3. Start Rebounding

The rebounder, also known as a mini-trampoline, applies weight and movement to every cell, making the entire body more flexible and stronger.

I jump up and down on my rebounder a few times a day. The health benefits of rebounding are endless. It improves flexibility, digestion and lymphatic circulation, increases strength and flexibility, and is a great way to manage stress. Not to mention it’s fun!

If you decide to invest in a rebounder, it is important that you don’t buy a cheap one, as it can cause back problems. The good ones sell for about $300. This product has been a game changer for my health and well-being.

Get active and start bouncing!

4. Start The Day Active

A cost-effective and easy way to move your body is by engaging in some sort of aerobic exercise every day. A great way to start your morning is with a brisk walk or a run.

I don’t know about you, but when I sit for long periods of time, my energy goes way down. When you engage your body, your brain turns on and you feel more alive inside. Anything that gives you more energy will allow you to do and achieve more. In the words of Natalie Garay, “Moving your body is a form of self-care. It’s not selfish. It’s essential.”

Movement is the key to optimal health and happiness. Sitting is worse than smoking cigarettes! Are you sitting too much? If you are sitting right now, get up and start moving your body!

Here is a sneak peek of our interview together, talking about the 2 critical nutrients for your gut, brain, and waistline:

Can you share a little bit about your background?

I got involved in exercise and fitness at the age of 15. I really loved playing hockey, but there wasn’t much of a career there, so I got into high-performance training and weight lifting. During this time, my sister got diagnosed with cancer and I watched her go through the medical system and die after 4 years. I went onto study exercise and physiology.

During my formal education I didn’t find the answers that I was looking for, so I started to seek out mentors, people who were producing the results that I wanted. I started to replicate their process, and this is when my career started to unfold. I hooked up with one of the best coaches in North America named, Scott Able, and over the course of 15-20 years, I won a bunch of national championships, and went on to become Mr. Universe. However, in 2003, I had a complete physical meltdown. I gained 42 pounds of fat and water in 11 weeks. Prior to that, I had brain fog, bloating, gas, agitation, and zero energy. I found a great doctor who told me that all diseases start in the gut. I started using enzymes and probiotics, and I got my health back.

Over the last 15 years, I have coached over 15,000 clients worldwide. During that time, we have found that the #1 obstacle to performance in people is poor digestion.

Oftentimes people think that fitness and health are one in the same, but they’re not. Can you tell us the difference between the two, and why health always has to be the #1 priority?

Fitness is a component of health, but it isn’t health. Health is an internal game. It’s based on how your organs function, how well you are able to assimilate the nutrients that you are consuming, your mental clarity, your spiritual health, and what I like to call, “mental fitness”, which is very important in today’s world because we are bombarded with so much digital information.

Almost every entrepreneur in the online world gets to a point where they realize that they need to upgrade their health game because they are unable to keep up with the pace of change. This is where optimized health becomes so important.

I've been taking your P3-OM probiotics for years, and it's really made a huge difference to my well-being. Can you share how you developed it and tell us what it contains?

We took a very robust strain of bacteria that had some aggressive properties, and our researchers put it through a training camp. We were able to produce some incredible effects.

On the US patent that was given for this product, it has shown that it is anti-viral, anti-retroviral, and is effective against tumours and all sorts of pathogenic natures. These probiotics travel through the body and clean it up. There is no other probiotic like it. It’s aggressive in that it doubles within 20 minutes of being inside of the body. It just wipes out pathogens.

If you took my P3-OM probiotic supplement for 90 days, it would reset your bio-dome, wipe out pathogens, and clean up any debris that was left in your system. I haven’t used antibiotics in 15 years and I haven’t had any intestinal problems, I’ve never gotten sick, and I don’t worry about it, because I’ve got so many “good guys” in my system.

What are the typical benefits that people can expect to have if they took your P3-OM probiotics and Masszymes?

The benefits come in stages.

Stage one, which is usually the first week or two, a person will notice a difference right away, with regards to stomach bloat and digestion issues. It depends on the person and the amount of undigested food that they have in their stomach, but after week two, people will start to go to the bathroom a lot more. Within two to four weeks, people will notice that they have a lot more energy and are waking up with a lot less brain fog.

During the second month people will notice changes in their skin conditioning, they will have clearer eyes, and some people will be eating less. Almost everyone will notice a change in their stomach. By month two and three, people experience better overall brain functioning and mood levels.

If you look at the top people in the holistic fields, like Dr. Udo Erasmus and Tony Robbins, they are all using probiotics and enzymes because they work, and they make people feel better.

Do you have any advice for someone that wants to change his/her health?

Head on over to our website and sign up for our 84-day course. It teaches you everything that we’ve learned over the last 30 years of being in the health industry. I learned from a young age how important health is, especially after watching my sister die. Health is not a guarantee. Most people don’t take action because they don’t know what to do. That’s why I created this 84-day course – it was a service to humanity to say, “Whether you buy or products or not, it doesn’t matter. Learn the course, and apply as much of it as you can to your life.”

I’m so grateful that I was able to interview my good friend, Wade Lightheart on the 2 critical nutrients for your gut, brain, and waistline. Don't underestimate the power of enzymes and probiotics.

I highly recommend Wade's products. I’ve been taking them for years, and they have made a huge difference to my health and well-being.
