Would you believe me if I told you that you can write a book in less than 24 hours?

A lot of people procrastinate when it comes to writing a book. They assume that it has to be best-seller-worthy.

Even worse, they drop the idea of writing a book altogether because they don’t think that they are a good enough writer.

The great news is that you can create a great book in a short period of time. I want to share my unique approach that will help you achieve this.

Are you ready to share your message with the world through your writing? If so, keep reading to find out how you can do this in less than 24 hours!

Writing a book doesn’t have to be a daunting task.

Nevertheless, a lot of people get so overwhelmed with the process that they end up procrastinating to the point of never starting. They have a belief that a book has to be 300 pages in length and that it will require an insane amount of commitment.

On top of this, they don't even know how their book will do once they publish it. As a result, their message dies at their lips.

Another reason why people never end up writing a book is that they struggle with perfectionism. They believe that a book has to be perfect. Even if they write a book, they're too afraid to publish it. A lot of perfectionistic tendencies are rooted in a fear of failure. The concern is that, if they let go of their scrupulous behaviors, their performance will suffer.

The question is… is there a way to make the writing process easier?

Yes! And here is why…

The book industry hasn't evolved a lot since its inception. However, the Internet has. Today, people consume content in a variety of different ways, whether that's through a blog post, a podcast, a YouTube video, or social media posts. As a result, they have a lower attention span.

Did you know that less than 10% of people read past the first chapter of a book?

Harvard-trained neuroscientist and expert on the science of reading, Maryanne Wolf, says that skim reading has become the normal way of reading. How online readers are consuming content is of benefit to book publishers.

Even Amazon has recognized that people have the desire to read shorter books, which is why they created a Short Reads category on their website. These books may only take 30-90 minutes to read, versus a 300-page book which may take 10+ hours.

I believe that it is possible to write a book that is 50 pages long and still gets your message across to the world. This is why I decided to create a unique book writing approach that is different from the traditional way that people have been taught.

Here is a sneak peek of my book writing approach. Before you start writing your book you want to identify what your book is about. I recommend doing keyword research on Amazon so that you know that there is a demand for the topic that you want to write about.

After you've done your keyword research you want to determine what the core message is that you want to share inside your book. From there, you want to break down your core message into different chapters.

Think of each chapter as if it were a blog post.

Identify the 3 most important things that you want to share in each chapter. When you break down a book in that way, it's a lot more achievable to create in 24-hours. Think about it… if you're writing 5 different chapters, and each chapter takes you 2 hours, you're only committing 10 hours to write your book.

When you commit to writing over 24-hours with zero distractions, you get in the zone. This is otherwise referred to as ‘flow‘, a state of mind in which a person becomes fully immersed in an activity, to the point where they are completely focused on what they are doing.

When you get into a flow state, it's easier to create momentum with your writing. If you immerse yourself in the writing process and allow your ideas to flow out of you, you can accomplish a book in 24 hours. I've done it many times.

One piece of advice that I can give you is to make sure that your writing isn't perfect on purpose. Write for the waste bin, so to speak, as if you're not going to use what you're writing.

If you're too in your head, you'll get writer's block. Instead, let the words flow out of you. Once you have everything on paper, you can improve and enhance your writing.

When I'm writing a book, I like to change my expectations from 100% to 80%.

It's called the 80% approach. I learned this concept from Dan Kennedy who said that 80% is good enough. Most people don't even notice the things that we obsess about. The great thing about publishing a book on Amazon is that you can go back and improve it as you go. Nothing is set in stone.

Another great thing about creating a shorter book is that you can add to it over time, in the form of a series of books. Similarly, you can make your book longer and better.

Keep in mind that there are many different ways that you can write a book. I'm merely offering a different writing option that will allow you to write your book easier and faster.

For those of you who are interested in learning more about Amazon book publishing, I created a free video training that shows you how you can create $10k a month in passive income using this business model.

If you want to go deeper and get access to my step-by-step system for how to publish a book on Amazon, check out my Mastering Book Publishing course. I've also created a course that teaches you how to effectively market your book and get more sales, which is called, Mastering Book Marketing.

This is how to write a book in less than 24 hours.

Publishing a book is a powerful way to share your message with the world. Even better, becoming a published author positions you as an expert and helps you build credibility. It's time to stop dreaming of publishing a book and start writing!

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a writer?

Or ever fancied seeing your name printed in golden letters on the cover of a bestselling book?

Well, if you just screamed a roaring ‘hell yes' at the top of your lungs, chances are you're meant to be a writer. You are meant to help change the world and inspire people’s lives through the power of your words.

“But how do I begin? I have no ideas.”

“I have ideas but I don't know how to put them on paper.”

Worry not, I have a plan for you.

Writing Tips for Beginners and Get Better at Writing

  • Start reading and mimic the voice
  • Write catchy titles
  • Write for yourself
  • Research and understand your audience
  • Study ways to become a great storyteller
  • Make your readers feel something
  • Explore the Internet
  • Be consistent
  • Believe in yourself
  • Write to throw the paper away

These are my hand-picked top 10 writing tips for beginners to help you blossom into a top-notch writer. So explore each deeper, read them, apply them, and go get writing.

1. Read like a maniac

As a writer, words are your fuel; and what better way to master words than reading itself. If you want to write, you need to read — and read, and read, and read! Read everything you can get your hands on. Classic literature. Fiction. Non-Fiction. EBooks. Magazines. Even that trashy, old novella with giggling girls on the cover.

Examine writing style with a critical eye and observe how authors convey their thoughts and emotions. Every book has a lesson for you if you're willing to pay attention. Don't limit your reading to a particular genre. Read different books to gain fresh perspective. And remember that you cannot even dare to call yourself a writer unless you fall in love with the idea of reading.

2. Write catchy titles

This is one of the most important writing tips for beginners. It is often said (and truly said) that people immediately stop reading your content if you don't hook them right from the beginning.

No matter have excellent your content is, it won't matter unless you match it with a catchy title. A bold headline can be the very difference between a quality piece of writing, or a dud. Start with a bang! Embellish your writing with words that immediately grab reader's attention and tempt them to read on. That's the key to creating compelling art.

3. Write for yourself

Forget the fact that you're writing for an audience. First and foremost of all, write for yourself. Just direct your focus solely on your feelings, ideas and opinions and how to put them on paper. It fires your passion and creativity. It allows you to ink your inner thoughts lucidly on paper as you learn to write right from your heart. And above all, people seem to like it.

4. Understand your audience

‘Write for yourself; rewrite for others'…this is one of the greatest writing tips for beginners anyone could give you. Know your audience better than they know themselves. Act as if you are speaking to one person and write accordingly to create an emotional tie with your readers. One great way to do that is to connect with your readers to learn their perspective, their side of story.

5. Learn to become a great storyteller

Everyone loves a good, old tale. A craft as old as man himself, storytelling is a great way to woo and charm and audience. That’s because the need for stories is rooted deeply inside our brains. Try to blend in an engaging story in your writing. Good stories are easy to understand and the simplicity of language also aid readers in remembering them. It does not matter what genre you write in, everything can be turned into a story – if you tell it the right way.

6. Make your readers feel something

If you've made your readers feel something (and as long as it's not irritation or monotony), you as a writer have done your job. Readers can fear and feel motivated and be excited and feel grief. They can smile and sob, shiver and rage. All from reading your content. Just make your readers feel something. Humans crave drama – so feed it to them like chocolate.

7. Explore the Internet

The all-encompassing world of internet is chock full of guides, how-to's and writing tips for beginners. Not all of them are really useful, but there's still plenty of quality material out there that is definitely worth your time. Take an online writing course or join a writing forum to perk up your writing prowess. Connect with fellow writers and get an insight to how they get their work done. Think of internet as a massive goldmine ready to be exploited.

8. Be consistent

Writing consistently is one of the worst struggles writers face in their daily lives. Even the most skilled writers find it arduous to stay consistent and keep the words flowing regularly on paper. Notch up a few hundred words every day to keep your writing skills sharp. Like any other skill, your writing prowess slowly rusts if not put to practice consistently.

9. Believe in yourself

No list of writing tips for beginners can be complete without this point. Writing is a daunting process. There are many ups and downs. Every day is a new challenge. There are times when you find yourself judging your writing and questioning your abilities. There's nothing wrong with doubting yourself. You are human, therefore you doubt. The problem really arises when doubt overwhelms you and starts holding you back.

That's where self-belief comes into play. If you are going to go through, you have to trust your gut and keep believing in yourself. You have to plant this motto in the deepest chamber of your mind: I will never quit!

10. Enjoy writing

Writing is magic, quite literally. You create something out of nothing. Something you write today can be found and read in a thousand years and it can still be related to readers. This is magic. The best way to do justice to writing is to love it. Once you start enjoying the process of writing, words will come naturally to you and you'll look forward to writing every day.

I have created a new and improved version of K Money Mastery which is called, Mastering Book Publishing!

If you've ever considered writing your own book at some point in your life, then you're in the right place.

I'm going to revealing to you what holds many people back from writing their own book and provide tips on how to overcome that and understand how to write a book for beginners.  If you're a complete beginner at writing, you'll also learn some strategies on how to write a book and getting started with it.

I've personally written several of my own books that I've self-published on Amazon and Kindle.  I've had a fair share of success writing and publishing, but have also worked with many very successful authors that have published and had remarkable success.

I've seen the pitfalls and the challenges that hold people back.  I've also seen what gets someone to take action and follow through on their book project, successfully completing their book and publishing it.

I'd like to invite you to first watch this video that I recorded that shares more on how to write a book for beginners.

3 Tips On How To Get Started Writing A Book

The biggest obstacle that aspiring authors face is getting started with writing a book.  The most common obstacles that I've observed are procrastination and writer's block.

As mentioned in the video, I have a few simple strategies to help overcome both of these obstacles:

1. Chunk It Down And Make Writing A Book Achievable

Many aspiring authors procrastinate to write a book because they making it so big in their heads.  They make writing a book into this massive, overwhelming task that they feel would take them years to complete. As long as you look at things this way, the chances of you getting started to write a book is slim to none.

The solution to this is to break the task of writing a book into smaller, more achievable pieces. Break down the book into a series of chapters.  Then break those chapters down into a series of paragraphs.  Those paragraphs into a series of sentences.  And then a series of words. This is a simple start when learning how to write a book for beginners.

When you look at it that way, how much easier does it become in your head? Anyone can write a few words.

If you just focus on that – writing a few words – then you can get started right now on that and begin making progress on a book. This helps if you are writing non-fiction or learning how to start writing a novel for beginners.

So that's my first tip for beginners on how to write a book: make it smaller and more achievable. When you look at things this way and just get started writing, it isn't long before you get momentum and before you know it the book will be complete!

2. Use Pain And Pleasure To Motivate You

Many aspiring authors procrastinate to write a book because they associate pain with the process of it.  They believe that it'll be too time-consuming, be challenging, difficult, or overwhelming.  These are all alternative words for “pain”.

Anytime you link pain to doing something, you won't be likely to do it. However, you can use pain to your advantage.  Pain is good, as long as you channel it in the right direction and use it as leverage. If you want to learn how to write a book for beginners, but procrastinate, then think about the consequences of doing so.  Ask yourself these questions:

  • What will it cost you if you don't write a book?
  • What has it already cost you in your life?
  • What will you miss out on in your life if you don't write a book?
  • What are the consequences 5 years from now?

Be honest with yourself and get to the truth.  If you can begin to feel a bit dissatisfied or disturbed, then you're on the right track and will begin to feel motivation to get started immediately.

Alternatively, you want to associate pleasure to the process of writing a book.  Think about how you will feel by having your book published and having people enjoy it.  Think about the benefits it will bring you in your life.

3. Write For The Waste Basket

Being a perfectionist holds many aspiring authors back from getting started to write a book.

One of the best pieces of advice that I've heard is to “write for the waste basket”.  Meaning, you want to write with the intention of it not being good. This is one of the best pieces of advice when learning how to write a book for beginners.

The truth is, the draft of your book is NEVER going to be as good as you want.  However, that's why it's called a “draft”, because it isn't meant to be perfect.  It's meant to be just a draft of your ideas or the initial stages of your book, which you can then go back through and improve upon.

When writing, I often just write and don't even care about my spelling or grammar.  I just want to get into that “flow state” and get the words out of me.  Once I've completed the draft, I can then go through it and revamp it and clean it up.

I have a very powerful process for this that I teach inside my Mastering Book Publishing program. So if you want to quickly write a book and suffer from procrastination or being a perfectionist, then I'd highly recommend you check it out.

How To Write A Book For Beginners

Now let's get into the practical strategies on how to write a book for beginners.  These steps can be applied to any book that you want to write, no matter the topic.

1. Create An Outline For Your Book

The first step is to create an outline of your book and list what you want included in it.  This is where you want to think about and lay out all the chapters, as well as jot down a few notes on what each chapter can include.

This is just pure brainstorming and getting your ideas to paper as an outline. By creating an outline, it will help you throughout the writing process as you won't have to think as much about what each chapter will contain.

2. Get Into A Creative Writing State

All of the most successful writers have said that when they're writing, they get into a state of “flow”.  This is a creative writing state that allows the words to just flow out of them.

If you're a beginner and want to know how to write a book, then I think this is especially important as you may have a harder time having the words come to you. Writers block is just a state – it's a limiting state that gets people too stuck in their head and the creativity doesn't flow out of them.

Next time you're having a tough time coming up with words to write, I'd suggest to change your state.  This is much more effective than trying to persist through it. You can change your state by changing your physiology or focus.  Some strategies for this are:

  • Get up and go for a walk
  • Exercise or workout
  • Meditate for 15 minutes and silence your mind
  • Do something that makes you feel good and energized
  • Read a book for 30 minutes

When you're in a better state, then I'd suggest to tackle writing the book again.  Notice how much easier it has become as you've loosened yourself up and feel better.

3. Use A Timer When Writing Your Draft

As mentioned earlier, you want to start with writing a draft.  You aren't going to just magically write the perfect version of your book the first time. One of my favourite strategies that I've used in writing the draft of my book is to use a timer or stop watch.

By using a timer and setting it for 45 minutes, it will create a sense of urgency within you to write as much as you can in that short window of time. By doing this, you'll get A LOT written quickly and be amazed by what comes out of you.

Make it a race and do NOT worry about any errors or mistakes you make.  It doesn't matter how good it sounds for now, like I said you can go back and correct it.  It's really about just getting the words out of you. I've found this to be amazingly effective for those that want to know how to write a book, especially for beginners.

4. Edit And Proofread Your Book

Once you have the draft of your book complete, the next step is to polish it up. You'll want to edit and proofread it yourself.  But I also recommend to hire someone else to help you with this also, because they'll likely find things that you missed.

You can find many editors and proofreaders on Fiverr or UpWork inexpensively. If you can have others review your book and give feedback on it, this is very useful to help make sure that the book is valuable to your future readers.

Ultimately, I'd say to NOT be a perfectionist with writing a book.  I've seen time and time again people wanting to know how to write a book and sure enough, they delay it.  They might even get started, but it takes them several years to complete it.

I'm big on encouraging people to get it out there, even if it's not 100% perfect (because nothing ever will be) and to get out of your own way and share your gifts to the world.

The fantastic thing is, we live in a world where anyone can now write and self-publish their own book.  Kindle publishing has been possible for anyone, regardless of where you live in the world or the quality of your book.  I have a course called Mastering Book Publishing which has helped many aspiring authors and publishers get their book on Kindle and start making money from it. This is a great next step when learning how to write a book for beginners.

How to Begin Writing a Book1Writing books and publishing them on Kindle is one of my favorite ways to create a steady stream of income. The work you put into writing a book can be over in a day or two, and it could make you money for months or even years to come. And self-publishing on Kindle means that you don’t have to be the next Stephen King to make money by writing books. Anyone can do it, and you don’t even have to be a decent writer to make it work.

When average people begin thinking about how to start writing a book, several red flags immediately go up. While writing a book is typically a time-consuming project, it really doesn’t have to be as difficult or lengthy as you think. If you have a book idea rattling around in your brain, you could feasibly get it written and published on Kindle within 24 hours. I typically publish nonfiction books, but if you have something more creative in mind then you should go for it!

There are many ways to approach a book writing project. Deciding on a plan of action that will work best for you requires a bit of consideration. Here are a few of the important decisions you must make to ensure that your Kindle publishing project works for you.

What should I write a book about?

Deciding what your book will be about might be the most difficult decision of the entire project. But without a topic, there will be no book, so it’s best to get through this decision first. I recommend brainstorming a list of topics you feel that you could easily write a book about. If you are an expert in a certain field, this part is easy. Simply write about what you know.

However, if you're considering publishing your book to Kindle, then it's important to do the proper research beforehand to ensure that you're publishing into a profitable niche.  If you do this correctly and there are people out there searching for your book on Amazon, then Amazon will do the selling for you.  In Mastering Book Publishing, I cover my step-by-step method to finding a profitable niche on Amazon and publishing to Kindle.

If you want to use your book to boost your business and bring in more prospects, then pick a topic related to your field and share some of your wisdom. Giving away some knowledge is a fantastic way to establish yourself as an expert or thought leader in your profession. And then when you’re done giving your audience a taste of your expertise, you can offer a soft sell at the end of your book. After all, selling products and services is how most of us make money, right?

Last, if you’re not exactly an expert but there are some topics that deeply interest you, write down those ideas too. You might surprise yourself at how much you actually know about those things. And if there is a sizable market out there for books on those particular topics, writing about these hobbies and interests could pay off big time.

How to Begin Writing a BookBut how can I be sure this book will make me money?

For best results, try to pick a topic that fits into a profitable niche. Carefully choosing a niche with a passionate, proactive audience means dipping into a pool of ready buyers. Determine what the audience’s pain is – what problem do they need to solve? And then, figure out how your book can resolve that problem for them. If you follow this formula, you are more likely to sell piles of books. If you can find a niche with few existing competitors, that’s even better.

Another good way to help ensure your Kindle book’s success is to conduct careful keyword research, right on Amazon. Try typing in some search terms related to your chosen topics, and see what comes up. The fewer results there are, the less competition you’ll face and the better your opportunity to create a book that can perform well in that niche. Here are a couple of tips to help you pinpoint just the right keywords:

  • Use specific keywords. For example, the keyword “health” is extremely broad. Select a narrower topic, such as “weight loss diets” to locate a niche with far less competition.
  • Try typing in part of a keyword phrase into Amazon’s search bar, and see what suggestions come up in the auto-fill list. This might help you narrow your niche down perfectly into an area you didn’t even think of on your own.

Later, it’s important to remember that putting those keywords in strategic spots – including the book title and description – will help ensure that people find your book when they’re looking for it.

Again, if you're unsure about this, then check out my step-by-step method to niche research in my Mastering Book Publishing program.

How to Begin Writing a Book1Should I write the book myself, or hire a writer?

Some people truly enjoy writing. There are people out there who are really good at conveying a message and striking a tone that readers like. The best writers can efficiently organize their thoughts and share them in a way that compels readers to keep going and absorb all that information in one sitting. If this sounds like you, then congratulations! You will find your book project to be easy and pleasurable.

But then… there’s the rest of us.

If you’re not a born writer, it’s okay. Don’t worry – you can still make money by publishing on Kindle, even if you failed high school English. Or maybe you just don’t have the time or the attention span it takes to sit down and write your own book. That’s an extremely common problem, so just know that you’re not alone.

This is where a hired writer comes in handy – you know, those born writer types we were just talking about. There are excellent writers for hire out there who will take your thoughts and notes, and create a fantastic Kindle book for you in no time. And many of those writers won’t charge you an arm and a leg. Check out sites like UpWork or Elance to see all of the writers out there, just waiting for the opportunity to transform you into a published author.

There are many more steps in the process of actually publishing and marketing your new Kindle book, but following these steps will give you a great start. I’ve honed and streamlined my Kindle book publishing process through my own publishing experiences. With several successful Kindle books under my belt, I am committed to helping others find their own success with Kindle publishing.

I have created a new and improved version of K Money Mastery which is called, Mastering Book Publishing!

Have you always wanted to write your own book?

For most people, the answer is yes.  In fact, since I've been in the Kindle publishing industry, I've received so many questions from people wanting to write their own book, but just not knowing how.

Many are challenged with not having the time, they don't feel like they're a good writer, they feel insecure about not being an expert on a subject, or are simply too intimidated by the task of writing a book.  I've been there before too.

The truth is, these limitations are all false and can be overcome with some strategies that I'm going to share with you in this video blog.

In this video blog, I'm going to reveal to you how you can once and for all write your own book that you can publish and start making money from.  I'm going to share some practical tips and strategies that have allowed me to write my own books in less than 24 hours… and show you how you can do the same.

You can write a Kindle book in less than 24 hours.

Most people think it's impossible or unrealistic to be able to write your own book in less than 24 hours. False! I used to believe that too… until I applied my speed of implementation concept to my writing and produced each of these high-quality Kindle books in less than 24 hours. I've radically changed my philosophy to writing a book, which has allowed me to write these books in less than 24 hours.

You see, my first attempt at writing a book came 6 years ago. I ran a dating coaching company here in Vancouver and I wanted to write my own book. Since the task of writing this book was intimidating to me, I procrastinated throughout the entire process, and it ended up taking me over a year to finally finish writing this book.

I wanted everything to be perfect and was too afraid to just get it out there. When I finally launched and released this book, it didn't turn out to be as successful as I had initially hoped. It did okay, but it didn't warrant the amount of time, energy, and money I invested in it.  It definitely wasn't a positive return on my investment. The truth was, knowing what I know now, I could have easily produced this book in less than 24 hours.

It didn't have to take me over a year to do this…

What held me back?  Trying to be a perfectionist with it. I learned a philosophy from Dan Sullivan called The 80% Approach that really changed my life. Dan teaches that the most important part of anything is 80% of it.

Instead of aiming to be a perfectionist and do 100% of something, he says to just aim to do 80%. That 80% has all the value in it. Who cares if EVERYTHING isn't perfect yet? Can 80% of this book help people and provide value?  If yes, then you owe it to yourself to get it out there.

In fact, he'd go as far as to say that by NOT getting it out there, you're doing a disservice to your market and customers.  They are receiving no benefit from you by having it sit on the shelf. This concept has really changed things for me. It has freed up my brain to just do the best that I can and produce quality content without worrying about it so much.

Less than 10% of people will read past the first chapter of your book.

Did you know that less than 10% of people that purchase your book will even read past the first chapter? That freaked me out. Here I am, spending all of this time and energy to write something, but only 10% of my customers are actually receiving the full benefit of it!

When I start to dissect why this is… the answer was obvious. Most people are too intimidated by books that are too long!

When you look at these lengthy books that are nearly the size of your head, how motivated do you feel to read that? I don't know about you, but it intimidates the heck out of me.  I don't want to spend months or years to read a book. Since publishing books on Kindle, I discovered that the market for what people want has shifted.

I've discovered that what actually SELLS better on Kindle is NOT a lengthy 200+ page book that you would sell for $9.99 or $19.99. Rather a short, 30 to 100-page book that you can instead sell for $2.99 to $4.99. People are more interested in buying a SERIES of books, rather than an “all-in-one” type book that is 200+ pages.

In fact, I believe that if you have a 200-page book, that you should break it down into a series of smaller books that are 50 pages long. Sell them each for $2.99.  You can even give people the option to buy all 4 books from you (equaling the 200-page book) for a higher price point. This actually SELLS better, makes you more money, and benefits the reader so much more. They will actually READ your entire book!

The value of your book is not determined by its length.

People often worry that if their book is too short that it won't be valuable enough for people. Wrong! Did you know there are plenty of books out there that are only a couple of pages long and that you can read within 5 minutes that are worth A LOT of money because the information in them is so powerful?

it works bookOne of my favourites is a book called It Works: The Famous Little Red Book That Makes Your Dreams Come True.

According to Kindle, this book is only 28 pages long.  I have the paperback of it and would even say it's much shorter than that. I've read this book time and time again in under 5 minutes.

What if I told you that this little book is one of the best books that I've ever read?  It has information that will change your life, if you apply it. Here's another short book that has changed my life and can be read quickly… it's only 26 pages on Kindle.

As A Man Thinketh by James Allen

So as you can clearly see, the LENGTH of the book does not determine it's value. In fact, if you can get your message across in a short book, then why wouldn't you?  Why do you need to write hundreds of pages to get your message across to people?  It's completely unnecessary.

How To Write A Book Fast!

The average typing speed is around 55 words per minute. Now, I will be honest with you… I'm a much faster type than that. I didn't always be, but I've practiced a lot and I wrote a lot of blog posts. While I may be a much faster typer than you, it doesn't mean that you can't do this also. I've provided some simple strategies below that I follow that allow me to write a book fast. You need a topic for your book first and foremost.

Once you have the topic, you need to brainstorm the sub-topics of the book.  What do you want this book to contain? What are all the possible ideas or nuggets of information that you can include in this book?  These sub-topics, once you narrow them down, will eventually become the chapters of this book.

You don't need to know anything about the topic you want to write on!

In fact, with the internet, you can now easily research any topic that you want and find all the information out there for free that you can include in your own Kindle book.  You can purchase other related Kindle books and get ideas from them. Similarly, find YouTube videos, blogs, articles, or anything else that can give you the very best information that you can add to your book.

Everything that I've personally written in any of my books (or articles on my blog) is just information that I've learned elsewhere!  If you don't know the answer to something or want to know more about it, you can do a simple Google search.

Set focused chunks of time while researching and writing your book.

This is a powerful productivity strategy that has allowed me to write quickly and effectively.  I use something called an Egg Timer and I will give myself 45-60 minutes to write a chapter as fast as I can.  I don't worry about grammar, spelling, or making it sound nice. Rather, I just write for the purpose of getting my thoughts out of my head.

This is just going to be the draft – you can edit and proof-read things later.  This is an important strategy. It helps you get that “filter” out of your head that causes writer's block and prevents your ideas from flowing out of you. If you absolutely suck at writing, you can have someone else proof-read and revise it for you inexpensively.

You don't have to write in order for you to create a book!

In fact, you could use dictation software (Dragon Dictation) and record yourself talking about a topic. It will automatically transcribe and write the book for you.  You could also hire a transcriber to transcribe your audio for you and then use that as a book that you can now publish.  So if you can SPEAK, then you can write a book.

My proven method for writing a book in less than 24 hours.

I hope you enjoyed the information that I've provided in this video blog and that it really has inspired you to write your own book. Check out my guide for how to publish a book for more information. Writing online is serious business in this day and age. The adage, Content is King, is what many SEOs live by, with good reason. There is increasing demand for writers to come up with the most informative and engaging content and copy.

While writing online can be a stable source of income, it takes time, hard work, and dedication to make your writing more engaging and your copy higher converting.

Let's look at some ways you can improve both.

1. Learn to use facts/numbers in building an argument

If you are trying to make a point, the best way to do this is to provide proof or evidence. Adding facts and statistics into your writing will make your writing MUCH more persuasive and valid to your readers. When using facts and statistics, make sure you're using the most current data to date. You can uses statistic anywhere in your writing: the introduction, body, and conclusion. What a lot of writers may not know or realize is that a great place to put statistics is in the headline!

It could also be a good idea to link to the source, but don't do it too much because you will be sending visitors off your website. Also, when linking to another website, make sure to set it up so that when someone clicks on the link, it opens in a new tab or window. This way you don't completely lose the visitor.

2. Use an outline to organize ideas

In order to organize your thoughts while writing, it's important to have a way to organize your ideas. You need a structure. The easiest way to structure your writing is via an outline. An outline is simply a skeleton of the major headlines you're going to write about. Underneath each major headline you can then plug-in some bullet points of key ideas and/or facts you want to mention for that section.

This outlining process will make your online writing job easier and more systematic.

3. Use an appropriate voice

Writing online can be a bit tricky. Voice plays a major role in keeping the interest of readers. The good thing with writing is that you can adapt the right voice to the right situation. If you are writing for professionals, you can always use a formal tone. On the other hand, you can use a casual tone when writing for a younger audience.

How do you find the right voice for your writing? It is important to know exactly the branding of the company you are writing for. Also, it is a good idea to do comprehensive research regarding the your audience. Demographic, culture, and lifestyle are just some of the things that affect the type of voice you should use when writing online.

4. Utilize manual and automated grammar check

Regardless if your writing is for an email, landing page or blog, the proper grammar is a must. According to a study, 59% of readers shy away from websites with poor grammar. Trust and reputation has a direct correlation to the presentation, grammar and spelling of your articles and sales copy.

Given the importance of proper grammar and spelling, it is crucial that you edit your work numerous times. It also helps to use tools like Grammarly. What Grammarly does is check your subject-verb agreement, preposition, spelling and other grammatical rules that can affect your copy. It also provides useful explanation for your grammar mistakes.

But of course, tools like Grammarly doesn't guarantee your writing piece will be perfect, which is why you need to edit your work a few times.

5. Create effective headlines

Headlines make a huge difference in terms reader engagement, as well as how well the piece converts if it's copy. The stats say that 8 out of 10 readers will notice and read your headline, while only 20% will read the entire text. Another reason why you want to make use of headlines is to give readers an idea of what the article is about. It also serves as a breather, or a way to divide the article into easy digestible sections.

What makes a powerful headline? One really great way to create powerful headline is to include a sense of urgency in the headline. This will urge readers to read the entire article or copy. This is especially applicable in email marketing.

If you are not adding a sense of urgency in your headlines, it has to at least be engaging, or acknowledge the readers' problem. If the reader where to read just the headlines itself, it should do a good job in providing the reader with the gist of the article without actually having to read the entire article .

6. Understand the medium you are using

A challenge with online writing is knowing when to adjust your writing style depending on the medium being used. Different mediums require writing styles. For instance, if you are creating copy for an email campaign, it's imperative that the email be short, concise and engaging. This is something that isn’t applicable for articles. Articles usually need much longer and detailed. The length and the detail become even more important if you're writing e-books.

7. Know the right approach for the copy

There are different types of writing styles you could adopt, they are formal, conversational, and storytelling, to name a few.

One great engaging and effective approach for writing is the storytelling approach. Stories are by their very nature, interesting, and if told well, exciting. Stories have the ability to hook the reader better than any other method. If you're not used to this style of writing, it will take a lot of practice and dedication to master it. Storytelling has elements including beginning, conflict, climax and end. If you add these elements into your writing, you keep a reader’s interest.

Another commonly utilized approach in online writing is a conversational style. The conversational style of writing is also an engaging way to get your message across. Typically, this approach makes use of an active voice. For example, instead of saying, “your concerns will be addressed to within the day,” you could use, “we’ll address to your concerns within 24 hours.”

A conversational approach to writing also gives you the chance to break away from the strict rules you may have learned in school.

8. Learn to utilize right call to action

Well written copy must be more than just informative. It should be engaging to the point that it produces the results (eg, a lead, sales, sign-up, etc). A call-to-action (CTA) is the part of a copy that asks, or instructs, the reader to do something, such as purchase the product or fill out the form.

Effective copy usually contains a CTA button that says something like “buy now” or “sign-up today”. Adding CTA is crucial for improving the effectiveness of your copywriting.

Conclusion

High quality engaging content is king on the web. It's a critical part of improving your site's SEO ranking, as well as getting more customers. Writing online can be a source of stable income so if you like writing, it's worth implementing the tips in this article so that you improve your craft and get more writing work.
