Developing an INSANE work ethic will get you far in life.

Work ethic is defined as a set of values based on the ideals of discipline and hard work. Success is built on the foundation of hard work.  There is no other way around that.

You can achieve anything that you are willing to devote time, effort and energy to.

When you build a strong work ethic, hard work is no longer hard.

Rather, it becomes effortless. I'm not a big fan of the word, “hard work” because it presupposes that work has to be hard. This isn't true. Work can be challenging at the beginning. However, in the end, your success depends on which type of motivation mindset you adopt.

Push motivation is a behavior that you force yourself to complete to achieve a goal. Eventually, you will burn out if you push yourself too hard. Conversely, pull motivation is a behavior that you feel naturally drawn towards. When you can link pleasure to an experience, you will be more likely to reward yourself, and in turn, repeat a behavior.

The question is, “How do you develop an INSANE work ethic?”

Just like anything, it's a habit that you need to build. I like to think of work ethic as if it were a muscle. Let's use the metaphor of going to the gym to illustrate my point. When you are first going to the gym, it's hard to be build muscle, especially if you don't love working out.

Hence, it requires a lot of discipline. However, if you consistently stick with it, eventually it becomes easier to go to the gym. Before you know it, your day doesn't feel complete without this healthy habit. Can you relate?

The same thing goes with developing your work ethic.

When you go to your job each day, you're either building character traits of strength and hard work, or you're cheating yourself. If you aren't going to go all-in in your work, then all that you are doing is building a disempowering habit of laziness. How you do anything is how you do everything.

If you're not showing up at work, then who is to say that you are going to show up in other areas of your life as well? You have to push yourself to go beyond what your normal level of work ethic is to something that is greater than yourself. There are different levels of hard work.

You may think that you currently work hard. However, it's not until you're around someone that is living life at a higher level than you, that you get hit with the reality that you're lagging. If you haven't achieved your goals and dreams yet, it's time for you to get in closer proximity with people who are more successful than you. This is what will make you realize that you need to raise your standards higher than ever before.

So… how do you develop your work ethic muscle?

In her book, Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, Angela Duckworth talks about “the hard thing rule.” She says that you should do something hard every single day. The goal is to push yourself beyond what you are used to. Just by setting this tone for yourself, you will slowly build your work ethic muscle.

Look at everything that you're currently doing in your life as an opportunity to challenge yourself. When I was first building my online business, I wanted to achieve success so badly that I was willing to do anything. I trained myself to work 14-16 hour days.

By adopting this INSANE work ethic, my 8-hour days are now so much easier because I have built up my strength over time by pushing my limits. If you've never worked a 14-16 hour day, you should. Challenge yourself beyond what you are capable of, on purpose. The results will speak for themselves.

This is how to develop an INSANE work ethic.

If you aspire to achieve massive success in life, you must have a strong work ethic. Pride yourself on being a hard worker and push yourself every single day. If you can do this, you will feel unstoppable, and I promise you that the long-term rewards will be far-reaching.

What action are you committed to taking this week to build your work ethic muscle?

Are you tired of living someone else's dream? If you've always had aspirations of being your own boss, and find yourself dreading going to work every day, it's time to start building your own dream.

Why? Because life is too short not to do what you love. You are meant to do great things in this world.

Oftentimes people get stuck in their 9-5 jobs because of fear that they will fail. Having a dream is great, but nothing will ever come of it if you don't create goals and take action.

How would it feel to wake up every day with a smile on your face, knowing that you are making a difference in the world AND living your passion?

In the words of Tony Gaskins, “If you don’t build your dream, someone will hire you to help build theirs.” If this is your reality, it's time to make a change, and start creating YOUR future today!

I'm not suggesting that you quit your day job today and start a business tomorrow. Building a business is a long-term investment that takes hard work, commitment, time, patience, and grit.

A lot of people give up in the beginning stages when they don't see an immediate reward from their efforts; but if you stick with it, the payoff is beautiful.

Entrepreneurship is the key to financial freedom and living the life of your dreams.

What are you waiting for?

Here are three warning signs that may be proof your dreams are not your own.

1. Your Job Doesn't Align With Your Core Values

If your job doesn't motivate you to get out of bed every morning, there is a chance that it isn't aligned with your core life values.

What do you value? Does your current job allow you to focus on your core values? If not, it's time to start rethinking what is most important to you.

When you are aligned with your work you are connected to something that is meaningful to you. Something that allows you to fulfill your heart's desire. When this happens, it doesn't feel like work, because you are doing what you love.

As author Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic explains in his book, The Talent Delusion: Why Data, Not Intuition, Is the Key to Unlocking Human Potential, “When people pick jobs that fulfill basic psychological needs, motives, and values, they immerse themselves more in their work, experience higher levels of job satisfaction, and their productivity rises.”

This is the beauty of creating a business that is yours; it gives you the freedom to design your life in a way that aligns with your core values.

2. You Work Feels Meaningless

We spend a large portion of our lives working, so it is important that we engage in work that is meaningful. Unfortunately, for most, lack of meaning is the norm.

More than 40 years of research shows that people struggle to find meaning when they lack autonomy, variety, challenge, and the chance to work on a whole product or service from start to finish.

This is where the luxury of having your own business comes into play, in that you have the intellectual and emotional freedom to create meaning behind every product and service that you deliver.

When you do work that makes a difference in the lives of others, you experience a sense of fulfillment and happiness that far outweighs a paycheck. As Viktor Frankl wrote in his book, Man's Search For Meaning, “Suffering ceases to be suffering once it finds a meaning.”

The secret to true happiness and success in life is being able to wake up every day and live your purpose. If you haven't found it yet, don't stop. Are you tired of living someone else's dream? Don't just strive for a job. Dream bigger.

3. You Are Fearful Of Not Living Up To Others' Expectations

Whose life are you living? Is it one that you intentionally created for yourself, or is it based on the inflated expectations of others? If you follow someone else's path, you will end up living a life of regret. If you can relate to this, great!

This means that you have the awareness of what brought you to where you are now, and the courage to change it. If you have found yourself in someone else's story, it's time to re-write it.

Take responsibility for your life, stop seeking approval from others, and live your own dreams. There is great freedom in letting go of the expectations of others and living in alignment with who you are.

Are you tired of living someone else's dream? If so, it's time to stop and build your own! Write down your life's vision, purpose, and goals. Then start taking steps, every day, towards creating the life that you desire.

If you don’t have a plan for your life, you will be a part of someone else’s.

In the words of the late Steve Jobs, “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.

]]>

I would like to share with you 3 ways to find your flow in life. Can you remember a moment in your life when you experienced effortless focus while doing something that you loved, that time seemed to fade away?

Positive psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi describes this as flow, a mental state of complete absorption in one's current experience. In this state, you feel productive, happy, and 100% focused on the task at hand.

Oftentimes this experience is short-lived, but imagine how good it would feel if you could harness this feeling whenever your heart desired.

In the words of Csikszentmihalyi himself, “The flow experience has the potential to make life more rich, intense, and meaningful; it is good because it increases the strengths and complexity of the self.”

The question is, “How do you achieve this flow state?” It's a lot easier than you think. Are you ready to learn 3 ways to find your flow in life?

Do you want to learn how you can master every area of your life? CLICK HERE to join my Life Mastery Accelerator program!

Activities that lead to a flow experience are called autotelic (from Greek: auto=self, telos=goal), because they are intrinsically motivated and gratifying. They also have an end in themselves, rather than in some other end product.

Finding your flow is about losing yourself in tasks that you are passionate about. It allows you to experience enjoyment in the progress of doing something challenging, yet rewarding.

Let's explore 3 ways to find your flow in life:

1. Calm Your Mental Chatter

Mental chatter is the inner noise that plays out in our brains every day. Before you attempt to go into a flow state, ask yourself what is going on in your mind that will prevent you from fully immersing yourself in a task.

A great way to do this is through meditation. Consciously bring attention to your thoughts, without engaging with them. Doing so will allow you to become more aware of the conditions that allow you to enter into a calm state of mind so that the experience of flow occurs naturally.

2. Find Your Zone Of Focus

We all know how discouraging it can feel to sit down, with the intention of immersing ourselves in one task, only to jump onto the next thing.

Research shows that multitasking actually drains the energy reserves of your brain. If you want to find your flow, you need train your mind to become fully immersed in one task.

Turn off all distractions until you've done nothing but the thing you set out to accomplish, for at least 20 minutes. Once you hit that point, you will tap into your flow state.

3. Do Work That You Love

If you aren't passionate about the work that you do, you will have a difficult time losing yourself in it. The best way to find your flow is to find what it is that makes you come alive inside. Invest time and effort into it, and don't settle for less.

Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, said it best: “If you’re into kite-surfing and you want to become an entrepreneur, do it with kite-surfing.”

A growing body of scientific evidence indicates that flow is highly correlated with happiness, both subjective and psychological well-being. When you utilize your talents at work and accomplish challenging goals that are meaningful to you, the outcome is full alignment with your passion and purpose in life.

These are 3 ways to find your flow in life. Knowledge about flow is great, but it's not enough. It will do nothing for you unless you take action and find ways to implement more flow into your life.

Make the effort to find that state of effortless concentration and enjoyment that makes life worth living.

I would like to share 3 benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life. Through life's ups and downs, it is important that we remember to take the time to enjoy the simple things in life. We need to be grateful for what we have, and focus on finding meaning in our lives.

Life is meant to be enjoyed, not filled with stress and frustration. Minimalism is a state of being, a simple approach to life, that can help us do more with less.  In the words of Vernon Howard, “You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.”

That is why I wanted to invite Will Chou, the founder of Will You Laugh, a self-development blog that focuses on the secrets to success, to write a guest post to talk about 3 benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life.

Take it away, Will!

When I first discovered minimalism, I was a mess of a person and I thought it was stupid. But everything has changed now.  To explain my change of opinion, we have to go back to the beginning. When I first discovered minimalism, I really wanted to travel the world for a living.

At the time, I was disillusioned with my career paths and confused about my future. I was struggling to find work I could enjoy and the job opportunities that I was offered, sucked. To put it simply, like many Millennials, I had chosen a tough college major that I loved (pre-med Biology) but realized too late that it wasn’t my passion (after graduation).

My days of despair led me to seek escapism on the Internet. I discovered a large group of online bloggers that had a huge following and who called themselves, “travel hackers.”

Essentially, they would travel to exotic places for a living and make their living by “hacking life.” They were able to achieve a level of financial freedom that most people would envy. At first, I wasn't sold on this whole idea of minimalism, but that soon changed. Today, I want to share with you the three benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life:

1. You Will Stay Organized and Clean

I had always been a messy person. Despite my best efforts to stay clean, my room would quickly morph into a mess of junk. To put it simply, the more items you have, the more opportunity it is for it to make you feel and appear messy.

When you only have a couple of items on your desk, it’s never going to look that messy no matter how long you delay cleaning it up. It’s shocking how few people understand or use this habit. Nowadays, I have applied this minimalist philosophy to every area of my life.

2. You Will Achieve More By Working Less

A lot of people make the mistake of approaching their daily to-do list with a reactive state of mind. They take on too many tasks on a daily basis, many of which are unimportant. When they look back at what they have accomplished, they are surprised by their lack of progress.

A solution is a form of minimalism called essentialism. The concept is simple. Focus on one to three tasks per day. Make sure they are the most important tasks that will make the biggest impact on the accomplishment of your goals. If you do this right, you will realize that you’re doing less work but getting more results by prioritizing and cutting out the unnecessary.

3. You Feel Happier and Less Stressed

Not so long ago, I was frustrated with my progress, both professionally and personally. I didn’t have quality friends, I wasn't earning much, and I was lost and without direction in my dating life.

It was confusing because I had always worked super hard in school and “done the right things.” After doing a lot of research on success, happy people, and the science of happiness, I came up with a simple mantra that has helped me a lot. It goes something like, “As long as I have air, water, food, a healthy mind, and a healthy body, I am happy.”

This mantra reminds me to lead a simple, happy life. By living this philosophy, I have become a much happier, more relaxed, and lighter person.

I Am Not A Minimalist And I Don’t Want You To Be.

Wait, what? After all, I have said, I’m now revealing that I’m not a minimalist, I don’t intend to be one. Why? I can't say that I would be happy with living a lifestyle of extreme minimalism, and that’s OK. What I love about some minimalist influencers out there is that they’re not telling you to become a minimalist.

Rather, they are encouraging that you adopt the minimalist practices that work for you. That’s where I stand. I will be rich one day and I will buy expensive experiences, but the items and services I do buy will be fewer than the average person, and they will be focused on memorable experiences, rather than a desire to hold onto possession.

It’s important not to swing from one extreme perspective (“Everything you buy has value so you should hoard it.”) to the other (“Nothing has value so get rid of it all.”). The truth lies closer to the middle.

Video transcript

What's up, everyone? This is Stefan from projectlifemastery.com, and in this video, I want to talk to you guys a little bit about balance, how to have balance in your life. I believe this is a very important subject because, in order to be truly fulfilled in your life, you need to have a sense of a balance. You need to make sure that you're excelling, you're improving, you're growing, you're cultivating every area of your life.

Time and time again I see people that have great financial success, but yet their body is out of shape, they're fat, they're sick, and of course of you have all this money but you can't enjoy it, if you're sick, if you're only going to last a few years then what's the point of having all this money? Or people that have all this financial success and they made that their focus.

Everything else is out of balance and they're depressed, they're unhappy, they're miserable. I've seen that happen time and time again as well, people thinking that money is going to all of a sudden make them happy and more fulfilled, and it's so not true.

It's been proven that there are people that are in India, that are poor and in poverty that could be more fulfilled and happier than a billionaire. Again, it has nothing to do with money. It's nothing on the external. It's all internally within you. Or people that have all this money but sure enough they have no relationships. They're alone or they have no love or no passion, no intimate relationship.

If they have kids or friends or a social life, that's nonexistent. They don't have people that they can connect with. Sure enough, they're going to be unhappy and miserable as well.

I believe in balance

It's not about just focusing on one area of life and then neglecting everything else. I believe in balance. That's been a big core value for me in my life, hence Project Life Mastery. That's why I created Project Life Mastery because I believe in mastering every area of life, not just one or two areas but every area of life. I believe in being whole as a human being and being balanced.

What that does is it gives you that sense of fulfillment. When you take care of every area of your life and you're growing in every area that's when life becomes extraordinary. That's when life becomes incredible, amazing.

It's amazing how your life can change when you take care of everything because truthfully every area of life affects one another. Your finances do affect your body, your mind, your relationships, and vice versa. If you're taking care of your mind and your emotions that's going to allow you to take more action in your business.

That's going to help improve your health. By taking care of your body and your health, that's going to give you more energy to take more action in your business and have more financial success. It's going to help you have better relationships as well when you have more energy and you're a lot healthier also.

Seven core master areas

Life mastery: Balance, very, very important. I believe that there are seven core master areas of life. These are the areas that we all need to always be improving on and growing and developing as human beings. Those seven core areas, real quick, is your health and your body, which is really one of the most important things.

Some of these you have to prioritize much higher than financial success. I see people focusing so much on making money when … I feel sorry for a lot of people because once they make all this money they're going to eventually have the realization that money is not the most important thing.

For me, I've recognized a long, long time ago that my emotions, my relationships, my body, my health, my spiritual life, these are all things that are way more important than money, that is going to give me that fulfillment, that joy, and what it is that I really want.

Often times people are going after things or going after money, or having this sexy body, or having this perfect partner because they believe it's going to give them something, some sort of emotion, whether that's security, or freedom, or sense of happiness, or whatever.

The truth is you can give that to yourself. You don't need to go after all these external things to get that. You can give that to yourself.

I'll get to the emotions in a little bit but your body has to be one of the highest priorities. You want to make sure that you're not just healthy but fit as well, and there's a difference between fit and healthy. I know a lot of people that are fit but they're massively unhealthy, people that have these great muscles and this incredible body but they're consuming all these dairy products or consuming all this sugar.

They're consuming fat burners and all this caffeine and all this sort of stuff, and they're massively unhealthy.

It's not about just being fit but healthy as well and vice versa. Being healthy, taking care of your body, that's why I'm a big believer in morning rituals. What you put into the body first thing in the morning can help support you, taking the right supplements, eating foods that are cleansing your body, that are water-rich foods, having salads and juices and smoothies, all the things I'm a big believer on.

Taking care of your health, very, very important, much more important than fitness, as well as fitness. Fitness is important as well. It makes you feel good about yourself. It gives you an ability to have more strength or endurance or stamina. It makes you feel more confident in yourself as well when you look good. I believe fitness is very important also.

Your emotions, your mindset, your psychology, which is really one of the most important things right there with health. Really, I think they go together. Your body affects your mind and your mind affects your body. When you take care of your mindset, guys, it allows you to take more action in every other area of your life.

Not only that, but I learned a long time ago that every day I need to have a ritual to be grateful, to spend time, to focus on what's great in my life and asking myself the right questions, really just focus on being happy each day because happiness and joy and fulfillment is not something that just happens automatically.

It's not as a result of making a lot of money or whatever it is. That's not happiness. It has to be a daily practice in order to be happy.

I love morning rituals

That's why I love morning rituals as well because I believe every day first thing in the morning, highest priority than anything else you got to take care of your mind and your psychology and make sure that you're in the best state possible: You're focusing on what you're grateful for.

You're focusing on what's great in your life. You're focusing on what you want to create, what you're proud of, what's amazing, focusing on the good because that's going to allow you to attract more good into your life as well.

Health and emotions, taking care of those two areas really influences every other area of your life. If you are in a better emotional state, you're happy, you're fulfilled, you have confidence and you've conditioned yourself, and you're healthy, you have lots of energy, you look good, you're going to attract relationships into your life. You're going to attract people into your life on a much different level as opposed to being unhappy.

You're going to attract certain intimacy into your life. If you already have a relationship your relationship will improve because when you are in a better state it's going to enhance the quality of that relationship. There's going to be more passion. There's going to be more love. It's going to be a better relationship.

You put two people together that are both miserable and unhappy and you put them in a relationship you're going to have a very miserable and unhappy relationship, and also your mindset and your emotions, that affects your business or success, your money, your job.

It's going to allow you to be more productive. You're going to make more money. You're going to close more sales. You're going to spend more time and take more action and everything as well.

I believe health, your emotions, those are the top priority that everyone needs to have rituals for in your life. When it comes to health and emotions you can't just do something one time and expect it to be taken care of. You have to every single day condition and build it like a muscle.

If you want to be in great shape you can't just go to the gym once or for a week or a weekend. You have to go every single day. You have to be consistent over the long term. When you do that it builds up and it becomes better and better and improves over time.

We're meant to connect

What else is important? What's another area of life? Your relationships, making sure that you have intimate relationships but also social and developing relationships with your family and other people as well. Human beings are meant to connect.

We're social creatures. We're meant to connect with other human beings. In terms of intimacy, either attracting the right partner into your life or if you're already in a relationship right now then enhancing that relationship and making it better.

I believe that if you're in a relationship you'll need to have relationship rituals. You need to have rituals. Just like every day you have your rituals for your body and your mind, you need to have rituals to cultivate more love and passion and to meet each other's needs in your relationships.

At least every week or every two weeks I have a ritual in my relationship with my girlfriends. So relationships, very important. I believe the most important decision you're ever going to make in your life is who you spend your life with, because who you spend your life with is going to influence your life more than anything, very important decision. You have to make sure you're growing, developing in that area.

If you're single you'll need to be developing your confidence, your personality, your social skills. You need to be going out there and socializing, meeting people, pushing past your fears, your comfort zone, and really get yourself out there in order to attract the person that you want. It's not just going to happen out of the sky because you manifested it. You have to put yourself in situations where you can attract the right person into your life.

Health, your mind, your emotions, your relationships. What else?

There are your finances

Very important. Finances are more important than career and business because you can make a lot of money. It's what you do with the money that really matters. I know people that are making six figures and they're broke because they're spending six figures and they're just living month to month, paycheck to paycheck. It's about managing your finances. You have to make sure that you manage that.

I've seen people that spend their whole life, and unfortunately certain family members in my life as well, their whole life working. By the time they get to 60 years old they're going to retire. They got nothing to show for it. It's like, “What did you do with all the money that you made from 20 to 60?” It's because they didn't know how to manage it.

They didn't know how to invest their money. They didn't know what to do with the money that they were earning. That's a very important skill that you have to learn and develop as well, is not just making money but managing money and investing money and having money work for you. You can't just always be working for money.

You want to set up your money to start working for you so that it's growing over time and it's compounding.

Business, career, whether you're in a career right now or maybe you're a student right now you need to make sure that you are growing in that area. If you're someone who's an entrepreneur like I am you want to grow and improve your business. That's a big area of life as well.

You need to focus on, improve, and grow that. You need to be investing yourself, learning as much as you can, spending time, taking the right actions, leveraging yourself as much as possible. That's another very important area of life, your career, and your business.

Your social life, right? So not just your relationships with your partner but also your social life, your friends. What good is it just having all this money and having this great body and all that stuff if you don't have other people to share that with, other people to connect with?

I know for myself there was times where I made all this money in a day and I was depressed and miserable because I didn't have anyone to share that with. Human beings, we love to share. We love to share our experiences with other people because it amplifies emotions.

If you went to a concert for let's say a certain musician or whatever, you go to a concert and you're the only person there. That's not the same as being there with 10,000 or 20,000 or 50,000 people. It's a much different experience when you're sharing that experience with other people, so developing friendships, going out, going out and socializing, meeting new people, hanging out with friends. You have to make sure that you're developing that area also.

The last one is your spiritual life

I believe that every human being needs to have some sort of spiritual practice. It doesn't have to be religious but just some sort of practice to cultivate your spirit, and your spirit is that part of yourself that's beyond your mind and your body.

It's the everlasting part of yourself. Whether that's doing meditation or whether that's doing prayer, maybe it's gratitude, but just really cultivating your spiritual side and connecting with that I think is a very, very important aspect. It could even be contributing beyond yourself, growing in deep levels.

By doing that I think that's one of the most important areas that gives us that lasting fulfillment as well. Those are the seven areas of life. How do you manage all those areas? How do you balance yourself in all these areas? I'll share with you guys what I do. Number one: You need to make sure you have goals in every area of your life.

Have a vision for each area

You need to make sure that you have a vision for each area. For me, I share my goals publicly on my blog, my monthly goals reports, the videos that I do. You guys will see I have goals for each area of my life, not just financial but social life, learning, investing in myself, philanthropy, and giving back, and building houses and schools.

I try to focus on every area of my life. I do have more goals than that that I just choose not to make public that are more personal to me, but I do have goals in every area of my life that I set all throughout the year because, again, I want to make sure I'm growing in each area of my life. If you don't have goals in each area of your life then you're not going to grow.

If you don't have a goal for your emotions, if you don't have a goal for your health, if you don't have a goal for your relationships, then you're not going to progress in that area. It starts with having goals and a vision of where you wanted to be, where you see yourself. What's the ultimate of where you want to be in that area of your life?

Having goals is very important. I believe in having rituals as well. Rituals are ways to make things automatic. When it comes to health, your body, and even fitness, there are certain rituals that you can do that just require no more really than an hour a day, two hours a day at most that just make that automatic and just totally takes care of that area of your life.

For me, with my fitness and my health, I don't really have to think about it too much because I always focus long term with goals. For me it's just you're going to eat every day anyways, so just eating the right foods. That doesn't take more time to eat the right foods versus bad foods.

Schedule in your rituals

Working out every day: I work out twice a day. I do cardio in the morning, part of my morning ritual. Then I go back doing weights. That's just automatic. I don't think about it. It's just boom. It's clockwork. That area of my life is taken care of. I have rituals for that.

I recommend that you schedule in your rituals. Schedule in, in your week when you're going to work on your body, your fitness, your health. Maybe it's three days a week you're going to go to the gym. Just schedule that in. It's automatic. It's in your schedule, the same thing with your emotions.

For me, I schedule that in as part of my morning ritual, and I truthfully have rituals throughout the day as well, but my morning ritual, that first hour in the morning that's an opportunity for me to develop my emotions, to condition myself, to condition that confidence or experiencing that gratitude, that joy, and building that, so having a ritual for that.

That really only requires up to an hour a day as well. You can integrate that with your fitness. For me, when I go for a run and a walk in the morning I'm thinking about what I'm grateful for. I'm doing my ritual and cultivating my emotions as I'm improving my body. Again, they both go together because when I exercise it makes me feel better. It makes me feel happier I release endorphins, and it's very, very powerful.

Scheduling those two in, morning ritual, again, if you guys want to know more about morning rituals, check out my Morning Ritual Mastery program.  It will help you take care of and master those areas of life, your health, your body, and your mind, and your emotions, your beliefs, all that. Amazing program. I put a lot into that.

What about your relationships? Scheduling that in as well. Depending on what your goal is, I know from when I was single I had certain days out of the week where I'd go and socialize. Friday and Saturday night I'd go out and I'd socialize. I'd spend time with friends. I'd maybe go out, start meeting people, meeting different girls and things like that.

At some points in my life, I was maybe going out three or four times a week, and I'd schedule that in. I keep a calendar and say, “Okay, Friday and Saturday and Sunday, those are the days that I socialize. That's when I'm going to work on and develop that area of life and make progress towards my goals that I have in that area of my life.”

Rituals for your finances

What about your finances? You got to have rituals for that as well. For me, I remember at one point every single week every Tuesday I would track and go through my finances. I would go through all my bank statements, all my credit card statements, all my PayPal transactions, update them in Excel spreadsheet, and basically go through that and make sure I'm on top of my finances. I'd automate paying myself first.

Ten percent of whatever I earned automatically would go into different mutual funds, go into different stocks. I'd buy dividend paying stocks so that the dividends that my stocks make, they'd get reinvested and buy more shares of that stock so it compounds over time, but I just automated it so that 10%, whether at the beginning it was a couple hundred bucks every month, would automatically every month on a certain day go towards I'm paying myself first.

Finances automated: I got rituals for that as well. Anytime you can automate things, you don't have to think about it, that's the ultimate. You always want to be in that position. In business, your career, that's where you're going to spend the majority of your time because you need to make money to support yourself, to have a roof over your head, and feed yourself, and all that sort of stuff also.

With your business or your career, making sure you're growing in that area, you've scheduled that in, whether you've got a 9 to 5, you're going to work from 9:00 to 5:00. Make sure you've got that scheduled in five days a week, even if you're a business owner scheduling in, “These are the days of the week that I'm going to work on my publishing business.

These are the days I'm going to work on my job,” scheduling that in so it's very clear for you, and you just got to follow that schedule. As long as you follow your schedule you're going to make progress in each area that you're after.

Again, social life, scheduling that in. The spiritual life, that can be integrated part of your morning ritual. Maybe you go to church every Sunday. You have rituals for that also. Scheduling, guys, that's how you balance it. That's how you get into that balance, is creating and following a schedule, and it's not that hard.

When going out of balance is good

I will mention at certain points of your life you are going to go out of balance, and I think that's very important because to be 100% on balance I don't think is necessarily good because you're not going to experience as much progress as you want in a certain area as opposed to going out of balance at some points, focusing all in, not all in but majority of your time, maybe 80% of your focus on one primary area.

I'll give you some examples. Everyone that I know that's very successful financially, they never have this like balance. Basically, in order to be very successful, you're going to have to make sacrifices in other areas of your life. You're going to have to give up some time with your friends. You're going to have to give up some time to have fun and things like that. You're going to have to give up the time to relax and watch TV. You're going to have to focus most of that time on creating success.

Times in my life, for example, where I was really focused on my financial success I had to isolate myself. I had to not hang out with my friends. My friends are calling me, “Hey, let's go out this weekend.” I said, “No, man. I can't. I got to work. I got to build my business.”

I understood that if I make this sacrifice in the short term over the next year, or two years, or three years, and I make passive income in my business, that's going to give me then the freedom that I can now travel the world, spend time with friends or do whatever it is that I want.

So understanding that I had to go out of balance, but I think going out of balance is okay temporarily as long as you return to balance. That's the key thing, guys. You can go out of balance in different segments. You return to balance. When I was doing a fitness competition a few years ago, that requires a lot of focus, a lot of mental focus, a lot of physical energy, going to the gym, eating right, tracking your meals, all your calories.

Most of my time I'm spending watching videos and everything that can help support my mindset to achieve this goal. To achieve that I had to sacrifice other areas. I had to sacrifice time on my business and other areas of my life to do that, but that was only just for a few months. Then after the few months then I could return back to balance. I could return back to other areas of my life as well.

Make sure you're doing the bare minimum

I believe that when you go out of balance you still need to make sure you're doing the bare minimum for other areas of your life. You can't just completely ignore an area of your life. If you're trying to grow your business you can't just cut out your wife, or your husband, or your boyfriend or girlfriend.

You can't just cut them out and neglect them. Then it's going to get to the point of no return where you're just going to damage and kill that relationship. Sure enough, that's going to be over. You're going to go back to it and it's not going to exist anymore.

You still have to make sure that you are going to spend time with your partner or whatever, but maybe it's going to be less than what it was before. You still got to make sure you're spending time with your friends but maybe it's now once a week or once every two weeks as opposed to three or four times a week.

I believe that you always, you cannot ever neglect your mind, and your emotions, and your health, and your body. You always have to have rituals for that, non-negotiable because that was what's going to allow other areas of your life to work, and it actually benefits the other areas of your life as well, as I mentioned.

At times, you're going to have to go out of balance. That's okay. It's temporary. Just go back to balance. Do it for a few months. Right now I'm going to be getting started on creating a new project, a new online training course. In order to do that, I need to immerse myself. I need to make a sacrifice.

I need to basically work all day and all night on that, and I'm going to be out of balance during that, the next few weeks in the creation of that, but I know by the end of it I'll be able to return back to balance and I'll have created this incredible new program that I can then release that will benefit other people and benefit me as well. That's my take on balance, guys.

Conclusion

Understand there are seven areas of life. Have goals for each area, always growing, cultivating each area, scheduling, automating things, and understanding that you need to go to balance at times, but you've just got to get back to center. Get back to balancing times as well. That's it for this video, guys. Hopefully, this was helpful for you guys in helping you create more balance in your life.

Again, I want to emphasize that, guys, don't just be someone that just makes a lot of money. I see people that have all this money, people that are very successful, they're maybe a billionaire. I don't really want to be that person. They might be a billionaire and have all this money. All these people look up to them, but I actually really don't because I look at everything of a human being.

I don't just look at the money. That doesn't really impress me that much. I look at someone that has money but also is happy, fulfilled, has amazing relationships, has a healthy and fit body, all areas of life, guys.

Those are the people you want to learn from. Those are the people that you want to mentor you. You don't want to just look at those people that have success but they're miserable. I see that time and time again. Even people in the online world or people on YouTube have all these followers, and often times you're modeling their blueprint for success but also their blueprint for massive unhappiness and lack of fulfillment.

Again, I try to find a teacher, people like Tony Robbins, for example, who is someone that I believe has that balance in his life in all areas and has that joy, that fulfillment, that relationship, the health and vitality as well as the financial success. Those are the people that you want to learn from. Those are the people that you want to follow and focus on, people that have the life that you want, not just that financial success or the healthy and fit body.

Some people that you learn from for fitness, they have this incredible body but they're doing steroids. They're on caffeine. They're consuming all this casein and whey protein, massively unhealthy, and you're modeling that to have a fit body, but you're not, they don't have the values of health and vitality and energy, so, for me, I don't try to model those people at all.

I try to find people that have the body that I want but also the health and vitality, and they're also consuming the right foods and understand the health and holistic side of things as well.

I want to encourage you guys to, again, make balance a priority for yourself. I mentioned Morning Ritual Mastery. Again, I'll provide a link below this video for you guys to check that out if you guys want to develop more the emotional side and the health side, and be more productive in your life.

Other than that, guys, I want to thank you for watching this video. Hopefully, you enjoyed it. Make sure to like the video and leave a comment below. Let me know what you think, and I'll see you guys in the next video. Take care.
