Do you struggle with how to manage time when building your online business? If so, you aren't alone. When you are building an online business, it can sometimes feel like there is a never-ending amount of work to do, and no time to do it.

Because you don't always have a structured routine, it can make it difficult to be productive on a consistent basis. However, if you want to be successful in your online business, you need to learn how to manage time effectively.

No matter how you swing it, the reality is that building an online business takes time, but it can be done. In the words of Michael Altshuler, “The bad news is that time flies. The good news is that you’re the pilot.” Let’s dive into strategies for how to manage time when building your online business.

I recently received a question from one of my Online Business Mastery Accelerator members named Daniel, who asked me, “I’m in the military, away often, and struggle to get back into a routine and a correct frame of thinking to work on my online business when I get home. Is there anything that you can recommend?”

Daniel, given that your time and energy is limited, you need to be really strategic with regards to how you plan out your days. Consistency is key. If you know that you will be away for a certain amount of time, then you need to schedule specific times during the week when you work on your online business.

Treat your online business like you would a real job. Take it seriously, and make it one of your top priorities. Maybe this will require that you change your environment to one that will maximize your productivity, whether that means going to a coffee shop, co-working space, or an office.

Similarly, you could join a mastermind group, hire a coach, or find an accountability partner – anything that will motivate you to follow through on the things that you say you are going to do.If you are only accountable to yourself, it is easy to back out, but when you are accountable to others, it motivates you to follow-through.

In a study about goal achievement, the results showed that people who wrote down their goals, shared this information with a friend, and sent them weekly updates were on average 33% more successful in accomplishing their stated goals than those who merely formulated them. A system of accountability is the secret weapon that will allow you to succeed faster and conquer your goals.

I believe that one of the secrets to having big breakthroughs in your work is through the power of immersion, which is “the state of being deeply engaged, involved, or absorbed.” Some of biggest leaps that I've made in my business have been when I fully immerse myself in my work.

I used to get so overwhelmed by distractions, which would hold me back from making progress on my business. I decided that I could get more done in a weekend than I could get done in an entire month if I actually immersed myself.

Thomas Edison, who is known as the greatest inventor of all time, was known for doing 18-hour work days. He calculated that, if he had worked 8 hours/day, then what had taken him to the age of 47 to be able to achieve would have taken him until he was 82.

I’m not saying that this is a healthy lifestyle, but sometimes you've got to hustle, pull an all-nighter, and do whatever it takes, in order to get shit done and be successful. Sometimes I book week-long traveling trips, where I can hyper-focus, experience minimal distractions, and accomplish my most important tasks. On trips like these, I’ve gotten things done in one week that would normally take me six months to complete.

Daniel, I encourage you to devote a specific period of time in your schedule every week to deeply immersing yourself in your online business. This is how to manage time when building your online business, and is one of the best ways to make quantum leaps in your life and work.

Daniel, may the force be with you, and everyone else, who has passionately committed to doing whatever it takes to create the life of their dreams.

The Myth Of Multitasking https://projectlifemastery.com/the-myth-of-multitasking/ https://projectlifemastery.com/the-myth-of-multitasking/#comments Thu, 14 Sep 2017 14:00:04 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6756 People think that multitasking is the recipe for success. Think again. Do you want to know what the myth of multitasking is? Click here to learn more!

The post The Myth Of Multitasking appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

]]>

I would like to talk about the myth of multitasking. In today’s fast-paced world, people have convinced themselves that multitasking is the sure-fire way to accomplish their goals and achieve success.

Think again.

A recent article published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) by three Stanford University researchers have proven that ‘doing it all' gets nothing done.

In their study, they found that those who rated themselves as chronic multitaskers made more mistakes, could remember fewer items, and took longer to complete a variety of focusing tasks than those self-rated as infrequent multitaskers.

If you can relate to these findings, it may be time to re-think your habits. The reality is that multitasking is simply a way to make overly stressed-out people feel as if they are being hyper-productive. Multitasking is actually slowing you down.

Are you ready to learn some tips for how you can more effectively manage tasks and maximize your productivity?

Do you want to learn how to create a morning ritual that will help you be more productive, healthier, and happier? CLICK HERE to join my Morning Ritual Mastery program!

In his best-selling book, Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less, Greg McKeown explains how the meaning of the word “priority” has shifted over time – “The word priority came into the English language in the 1400s. It was singular. It meant the very first or prior thing…Only in the 1900s did we pluralize the term and start talking about priorities. Illogically, we reasoned that by changing the word we could bend reality.”

Multitasking can be a challenging habit to break. However, with commitment and practice, anything is possible. The result? Healthier thought patterns, improved cognitive functioning, and higher productivity levels. It’s a win-win. Here are 4 tips that will help you focus on your most important tasks of the day, and be more productive as a result:

1. Focus On One Task At A Time

The solution to multitasking is single-tasking. Instead of spreading out all of your mental energy on multiple tasks, focus 100% of your attention on mastering one task.

This involves adopting a more minimalist way of thinking. Learn how to slow down and be more deliberate and thoughtful with your actions. Doing so will allow you to move throughout your day with greater ease and accomplishment.

When asked about how focusing on one thing at a time helped Apple become more effective at delivering innovative products consistently, Steve Jobs, Co-founder of Apple said, “People think focus means saying yes to the thing you've got to focus on. But that's not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully.”

2. Use A Notebook

When it comes to productivity, I suggest using a tool like the Productivity Planner, which is designed to help you accomplish your most important tasks so that you don’t feel overwhelmed throughout your day.

The Productivity Planner uses a Pomodoro Technique, which is a time management method that uses a timer to break down work into intervals (25-minutes in length), separated by short breaks. This simple tool has allowed me to narrow down the most important tasks of my day so that I feel more organized and get more done in the process.

3. Tune Out Distractions

When it comes to accomplishing tasks, the Internet has become the ultimate distraction. Do whatever it takes to eliminate all distractions when you work, whether that means turning off your phone, putting in earplugs, or logging out of social media. In 2010, researchers estimated that distracted workers were costing businesses $650 billion per year and that interruptions can take up as much as 6 hours of our day.

If you are able to give your full attention to a task at hand, you will maximize the accuracy and speed with which you accomplish it. Mastery requires consistency, commitment, and focus. In the end, if you commit to nothing, everything will appear as if it’s a distraction.

4. Start Your Day With A Morning Ritual

I am a firm believer that the best way to achieve more during your day is by adopting a morning ritual. By establishing a routine in the morning, you train your mind to focus on doing one thing at a time.

A morning ritual is the quickest way to prime your brain for success. Take some time every morning to nurture yourself. This simple activity has transformed my entire life and it can do the same for you.

The myth of multitasking is a real thing. When you jump from task to task, you overload your brain, making it less efficient and more prone to errors. Take back your time by slowing down and focusing on one task at a time. It may feel as if you are going slower, but you are actually making more progress in the long run.

Take it from Sir Richard Cecil, who said, “The shortest ways to do many things is to do only one thing at a time.”

Here's how to focus on and enjoy the process of success.

Do you ever get so attached to something that it gets to the point where your desire to succeed becomes so overwhelming that it causes you to give up altogether? If so, you aren’t alone.

Many of us become so attached to the results that we desire, that we don’t learn how to focus on and enjoy the process of success.

Don’t get me wrong. Setting goals is great. However, setting goals and working towards the accomplishment of them are very different things. Do you measure your success by the outcome or by the process?

If it’s the former, you need to rethink your strategy.

Watch the video below:

In today’s digital world, our brains are in overdrive because we are constantly inundated with new information. It’s difficult to focus on and enjoy the process of success when we are experiencing information overload and trying to accomplish multiple tasks at once.

Are you reading this blog while responding to an email and making breakfast? If so, it’s time to slow down. Why? Research shows that multitasking is actually detrimental to cognitive performance, which has been referred to as “info-mania.” When it comes to doing a task properly, concentrate on one thing at a time. It's good for your brain, and it's better than multitasking.

The second challenge that people face is what to do with all of the information that they are given. In order to make any decision in life, you need to take action. When you are too focused on the end goal, it’s easier to become distracted by all of the steps that you need to take in order to get there.

Distractions prevent us from being productive and give us an excuse to dabble. As a result, no goal is ever achieved. Do you jump ship when things get tough? If so, your lack of patience, distractions, and “Shiny Object Syndrome” is killing your results.

You Need To Learn How To Focus And Enjoy The Process Of Success.

A great strategy for doing this is to learn things on a deeper level, and do it, multiple times. As I always say, repetition is the mother of mastery. For example, I will read the same book multiple times, or I will attend the same seminars again and again, in order to absorb the knowledge on a deeper level. Why? Because I want to master what I learn from an experience before I focus on something new.

Success is due, in part, to your ability to master boring and repetitive things in life. This is how we create habits that we desire. I do the same boring things, every day. But over time, they produce massive results. Another great strategy for enjoying the process is to do what you love. For myself, this has been through the process of creating inspiring content online, based on topics that I am passionate about.

The act of adding value and being of service to others means more to me than any amount of money that comes from it. As a result of simply helping people, I have been able to create a large following of subscribers who benefit from my work. I know that if I continue to add massive value, the money will come from that process alone.

Learn how to focus on and enjoy the process of success. This is where the magic lies. In the words of Eric Thomas, “Fall in love with the process, and the results will come.”

3 Benefits Of Minimalism That Extend To All Areas of Life https://projectlifemastery.com/benefits-of-minimalism/ https://projectlifemastery.com/benefits-of-minimalism/#comments Tue, 12 Sep 2017 14:00:04 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6742 Minimalism is a way of life rooted in simplicity. The post 3 Benefits Of Minimalism That Extend To All Areas of Life appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

]]>

I would like to share 3 benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life. Through life's ups and downs, it is important that we remember to take the time to enjoy the simple things in life. We need to be grateful for what we have, and focus on finding meaning in our lives.

Life is meant to be enjoyed, not filled with stress and frustration. Minimalism is a state of being, a simple approach to life, that can help us do more with less. In the words of Vernon Howard, “You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.”

That is why I wanted to invite Will Chou, the founder of Will You Laugh, a self-development blog that focuses on the secrets to success, to write a guest post to talk about 3 benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life.

Take it away, Will!

When I first discovered minimalism, I was a mess of a person and I thought it was stupid. But everything has changed now. To explain my change of opinion, we have to go back to the beginning. When I first discovered minimalism, I really wanted to travel the world for a living.

At the time, I was disillusioned with my career paths and confused about my future. I was struggling to find work I could enjoy and the job opportunities that I was offered, sucked. To put it simply, like many Millennials, I had chosen a tough college major that I loved (pre-med Biology) but realized too late that it wasn’t my passion (after graduation).

My days of despair led me to seek escapism on the Internet. I discovered a large group of online bloggers that had a huge following and who called themselves, “travel hackers.”

Essentially, they would travel to exotic places for a living and make their living by “hacking life.” They were able to achieve a level of financial freedom that most people would envy. At first, I wasn't sold on this whole idea of minimalism, but that soon changed. Today, I want to share with you the three benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life:

1. You Will Stay Organized and Clean

I had always been a messy person. Despite my best efforts to stay clean, my room would quickly morph into a mess of junk. To put it simply, the more items you have, the more opportunity it is for it to make you feel and appear messy.

When you only have a couple of items on your desk, it’s never going to look that messy no matter how long you delay cleaning it up. It’s shocking how few people understand or use this habit. Nowadays, I have applied this minimalist philosophy to every area of my life.

2. You Will Achieve More By Working Less

A lot of people make the mistake of approaching their daily to-do list with a reactive state of mind. They take on too many tasks on a daily basis, many of which are unimportant. When they look back at what they have accomplished, they are surprised by their lack of progress.

A solution is a form of minimalism called essentialism. The concept is simple. Focus on one to three tasks per day. Make sure they are the most important tasks that will make the biggest impact on the accomplishment of your goals. If you do this right, you will realize that you’re doing less work but getting more results by prioritizing and cutting out the unnecessary.

3. You Feel Happier and Less Stressed

Not so long ago, I was frustrated with my progress, both professionally and personally. I didn’t have quality friends, I wasn't earning much, and I was lost and without direction in my dating life.

It was confusing because I had always worked super hard in school and “done the right things.” After doing a lot of research on success, happy people, and the science of happiness, I came up with a simple mantra that has helped me a lot. It goes something like, “As long as I have air, water, food, a healthy mind, and a healthy body, I am happy.”

This mantra reminds me to lead a simple, happy life. By living this philosophy, I have become a much happier, more relaxed, and lighter person.

I Am Not A Minimalist And I Don’t Want You To Be.

Wait, what? After all, I have said, I’m now revealing that I’m not a minimalist, I don’t intend to be one. Why? I can't say that I would be happy with living a lifestyle of extreme minimalism, and that’s OK. What I love about some minimalist influencers out there is that they’re not telling you to become a minimalist.

Rather, they are encouraging that you adopt the minimalist practices that work for you. That’s where I stand. I will be rich one day and I will buy expensive experiences, but the items and services I do buy will be fewer than the average person, and they will be focused on memorable experiences, rather than a desire to hold onto possession.

It’s important not to swing from one extreme perspective (“Everything you buy has value so you should hoard it.”) to the other (“Nothing has value so get rid of it all.”). The truth lies closer to the middle.

Will has spent thousands of hours studying the world's most successful people and shares his findings on his self-development blog, Will You Laugh. Get his free gift made especially for Project Life Mastery readers by CLICKING HERE!

Sitting is worse than smoking cigarettes! Are you sitting too much? Some of the simplest things in life are the most difficult to do. If you want to master your life, you need to master the simple things in life, like sitting less.

You might know what you need to do, but the question is, “Are you doing it and living it?”

So many of us take the power of movement for granted, but research shows if you want to live a long and healthy life, you need to sit less and move more.

Worldwide, it is estimated that a sedentary lifestyle is responsible for 6% of coronary heart disease cases, 7% of type 2 diabetes, 10% of breast cancers, and 10% of colon cancers. Most shocking is that, recently, it was reported that inactivity is responsible for more annual deaths than smoking.

Are you sitting too much? If so, it’s time to get up!

The world of technology has created a sedentary culture, where people are sitting and staring at their cell phones, tablets, or computer screens for hours on end.

The effects of this way of life can take a toll on our bodies, both physically and mentally.

Human beings were designed to move, not to sit all day. The book, Get Up!: Why Your Chair Is Killing You And What You Can Do About It, opened my eyes to the negative effects of sitting, and made a huge impact on my life.

In his book, James Levine makes bold claims about the negative effects of sitting, like how sitting is worse than smoking cigarettes! In the words of Nilofer Merchant, “Sitting has become the smoking of our generation.”

Below are four things that you can do in order to motivate yourself to sit less and move more:

1. Track Your Activity

I recommend that you get an activity tracker, something that will allow you to track your overall activity throughout the day. In the past, I used a product called, Fitbit, which is a wireless pedometer, activity, and sleep tracker that monitors and tracks your daily activity.

Now I use a product called, The OURA ring, which is a lot more advanced than a Fitbit. Not only does it track my activity throughout the day, but also the different stages of my sleep, my heart rate, and my body temperature.

A cool feature of the OURA ring is that I have the ability to put it in airplane mode.

One of the biggest negative effects of technology is that it produces dirty electricity. Having too many electromagnetic fields around us, whether that’s by way of a cell phone or a computer, can be seriously harmful to our health.

Dirty electricity can affect everything from our mood, sleep, and energy levels. This is one of the main reasons why I chose to switch from a Fitbit to an OURA ring.

2. Get A Treadmill Desk

If you work from home or are someone that likes to spend a lot of time in front of the computer, investing in a treadmill desk will be a game-changer for you.

I purchased a LifeSpan Treadmill Desk because sitting was killing me. This desk has radically shifted my energy levels throughout my day, improved my mood, and my overall level of productivity.

I use it for a few hours every day, especially when I'm doing calls or webinars. If the Treadmill Desk is too expensive for you, a great alternative is a stand-up desk.

You will probably spend one-third of your life working. If you can make a simple change in your life, from sitting to standing more often while you work, it will have a compounding effect over time.

I value my health above anything else because it allows me to live my life to the fullest and experience optimal levels of happiness, productivity, energy, and success.

3. Start Rebounding

The rebounder, also known as a mini-trampoline, applies weight and movement to every cell, making the entire body more flexible and stronger.

I jump up and down on my rebounder a few times a day. The health benefits of rebounding are endless. It improves flexibility, digestion and lymphatic circulation, increases strength and flexibility, and is a great way to manage stress. Not to mention it’s fun!

If you decide to invest in a rebounder, it is important that you don’t buy a cheap one, as it can cause back problems. The good ones sell for about $300. This product has been a game changer for my health and well-being.

Get active and start bouncing!

4. Start The Day Active

A cost-effective and easy way to move your body is by engaging in some sort of aerobic exercise every day. A great way to start your morning is with a brisk walk or a run.

I don’t know about you, but when I sit for long periods of time, my energy goes way down. When you engage your body, your brain turns on and you feel more alive inside. Anything that gives you more energy will allow you to do and achieve more. In the words of Natalie Garay, “Moving your body is a form of self-care. It’s not selfish. It’s essential.”

Movement is the key to optimal health and happiness. Sitting is worse than smoking cigarettes! Are you sitting too much? If you are sitting right now, get up and start moving your body!

I’m here to tell you that if you master the process, the results will follow. Setting goals is critical for achieving success in life, however the process for getting there is equally as important.

You may be thinking, “But doesn’t this line of thinking defeat the purpose of setting a goal?” It may seem counterintuitive, but you will actually achieve your goals faster if you focus on the process, NOT the goal.

When you stay open to life’s possibilities, revise your goals along the way, and let events unfold naturally, it may surprise you what you discover.

In the words of Benjamin Zander “In the measurement world, we set a goal and strive to achieve it. In the universe of possibility, we set the context and let life unfold.”

If you master the process the results will follow. Are you ready to learn how?

Oftentimes people become so attached to the outcome that they fail to enjoy the journey. When they don’t achieve their goals, they end up getting frustrated and, angry and feel defeated.

When you first set a goal, you aren’t always sure what it is going to take in order to accomplish it. Oftentimes, people compare themselves to others and base their perceptions of what they think they can achieve, based on others’ results.

If you want to be successful in life, you need to stop comparing yourself to others. Rather, strive to set goals that embrace and your strengths.

When you actually enjoy the process and engage in something that you are passionate about, the results follow naturally. A great strategy for enjoying the process is to add value to people’s lives.

This is what I have dedicated my work to. My intention behind everything that I do in life is to create content that enriches and serves others. Zig Ziglar said it best – “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”

No matter how focused you are on achieving specific goals that you set for yourself, the course of your life can change in a heartbeat, forcing you to redirect your focus.

In his book, The Slight Edge: Secret To A Successful Life, Jeff Olson states, “Here is the amazing thing – and I’ve seen this happen so many times, yet it never ceases to fill me with awe – when you set your goals, life has a way of rearranging itself, a series of events starts in motion that you could never have predicted or planned, to get you there.”

When you truly enjoy your life, allow your experiences to support your goals, and don’t become attached to the end result life unfolds beautifully before your eyes.

I would like to share with you 4 ways to build your mental toughness. In today's fast paced and complex world, the ability to effectively adapt, remain calm under pressure, and change at a moment's notice is a necessity.

Your mental toughness, or “grit” as they call it, plays a very important role in achieving your goals in health, business, and life. Nobody in the business world needs mental toughness more than an entrepreneur.

Being your own boss and designing the life that you desire is great, but unfortunately not a lot of entrepreneurs possess the skills that are needed in order to weather the storms of the online business world.

The good news is that mental toughness is a skill that you can learn. Steve Siebold, mental toughness expert and author of 177 Mental Toughness Secrets of the World Class: The Thought Processes, Habits and Philosophies of the Great Ones, 3rd Editionteaches that a person of modest means can become world class by implementing the thinking, habits, and philosophies associated with mental toughness.

You can have amazing organizational skills, be highly productive, and be passionate about your online business. But without mental toughness, you won't be able to stay on course when things get challenging.

Below are 4 ways to build your mental toughness in order to ensure that you stay one step ahead of the game:

1. Embrace Change

Mentally tough people are constantly adapting to changing circumstances. They strive to get outside of their comfort zone on a daily basis because they welcome challenges and see them as opportunities for growth.

Making it a daily habit to engage in activities that force you to step outside of your comfort zone, take risks, and embrace the unknown is a great way to expand your capacity for mental toughness.

If you want to become the best version of yourself in your business and in your life, you need to take risks and do things that make you feel uncomfortable.

2. Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness is all about staying present in the moment. Entrepreneurs often find themselves stretched in multiple different directions, which can effect their concentration.

This is why focusing on the here-and-now is such an important skill for online business owners to learn.

A University of Miami study showed that one of the best ways to build mental toughness is through practicing mindfulness on a consistent basis.

One of the greatest benefits of creating a mindfulness-based practice, like meditation, into your daily life is that it allows you to effectively manage the myriad of stressors that can come with running an online business.

3. Be Active

There is no doubt that a healthy body contributes to a healthy mind. Numerous studies have demonstrated that the higher one’s mental agility and stability, the more likely they are to achieve and maintain a healthy body.

If you run an online business, it is imperative that you commit to staying active. Hours in front of a computer can be taxing on your physical and mental state.

According to the Mayo Clinic’s Dr. James Levine, in the U.S. people spend more than half of their waking hours sitting down, which can result in a myriad of health problems.

I highly recommend investing in a LifeSpan treadmill desk. It has radically elevated my productivity, enhanced my business, and transformed my health. Getting your heart pumping in the morning is a great way to stimulate your brain for optimal performance and prime you for success.

4. Master Your Emotions

In order to become mentally tough, you need to master your emotions. Running an online business requires that you are able to make strategic decisions under pressure, which is why it is important that you are able to stay calm and objective, regardless of your emotional state.

It is impossible to be mentally tough if you are unable to fully understand and manage your emotions. This is where the power of emotional intelligence (EQ) comes into play. Research shows that 90% of top performers have high EQs.

Unlike IQ, the good news is that EQ is a skill that you can build and master over time. Research shows that 90% of top performers have high EQs. Robert Kiyosaki said it best, “The strength of character and emotional intelligence to face your failures and learn from them are at the core of success.”

These are 4 ways to build your mental toughness. If you want to thrive in your online business, it is imperative that you invest in your mental health and well-being. Doing so will allow you to master any challenge that stands in your way of success.

It’s normal to feel overwhelmed when you have endless deadlines to meet, a business to run, a family to provide for, or a staff that is relying on you. Given these circumstance, it’s nearly impossible to not experience stress.

Below are 3 ways for how to stay focused and productive, without getting overwhelmed or stressed:

1. Accomplish More By Doing Less

People get overwhelmed when they commit to too many things. The brain becomes frazzled and people lose focus when they feel that they have too much to do and too little time to do it.

According to psychologist Daniel Kahneman, “It is the mark of effortful activities that they interfere with each other, which is why it is difficult or impossible to conduct several at once.

Multitasking isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. It doesn’t allow you to be more productive. Rather, it creates stress. The key to not getting overwhelmed and stressed is to work smart, not hard, which means narrowing your focus on the few things that matter the most.

Every day I ask myself, “What are the 3 highest leverage actions that I need to take in order to achieve success?” When you master those 3 things, you will find the motivation to do and achieve more.

2. Outsource Tasks

When you run a business, it can be tempting to do everything yourself. Nobody knows your business more than you, right? This way of thinking is what gets people into trouble. The reality is that financial success occurs when you work ON your business, not IN your business.

Outsourcing some of your most simple business tasks can save you a lot of time and energy. More importantly, it will free up your time so that you can focus on what is most important and be more productive.

Make a list of everything that you are currently doing and ask yourself on a scale of 1-10 how important that task is. Then determine what you can outsource. In the words of Peter Drucker, “Do what you do best, and outsource the rest.”

3. Calm Your Mind

Meditation is one of the most effective ways to cope with stress and increase your ability to concentrate. A new study in the Journal of Neuroscience found that people who regularly practice meditation may improve their mental focus by altering brain function.

Meditation isn’t about emptying your mind. Rather, it’s about conditioning the mind to focus on one thing. It’s natural for the mind to wander, but if you commit to doing it every day, you will see a massive shift in your ability to focus on tasks over time.

In the words of Deepak Chopra, “Meditation is not a way of making your mind quiet; it’s a way of entering into the quiet that is already there, buried under the 50,000 thoughts that the average person thinks every day.”

These are just a few ways of how to stay focused and productive, without getting overwhelmed or stressed. Are you ready to get back to a life of flow and ease? You don't have to live in a state of overwhelm. A worry-free life is yours for the taking. The choice is yours!

Do you give up once thing get hard? If so, I am here to tell you that your lack of patience, distractions & “Shiny Object Syndrome” are killing your results. We have all been guilty of this from time to time.

In business terms, the Shiny Object Syndrome is when a new idea captures your attention in such a way that you get distracted and go off in many directions, instead of remaining focused on your goal. The result is that you end up achieving nothing.

Many people think that if they jump from thing to thing, they will find a better opportunity, but this is far from true. When you commit 100% of your efforts to one thing, you will not only make greater leaps, but you will also achieve more.

Are you ready to stop dabbling and start mastering your online business?

If you want to be successful in life you need to focus on one thing and give it everything that you have, despite that fact that there may be easier, more profitable routes to your desired destination.

This is a very important habit to develop early on in your online business, because as you become more successful, there will be more opportunities that arise that can throw you off course, if you let them.

Yes, these opportunities may benefit your life, but there is no possible way that you can take on all of them at once. Ultimately, they will only serve as distractions to your overall purpose in life.

Dabblers love the rituals involved in starting something new and exciting, however, when they hit a plateau, they jump ship. Their enthusiasm wanes easily, and soon enough, their focus is diverted to something else.

Alternatively, masters commit to everything. They understand the newness of something, but when they hit a plateau, they don’t stop. They view challenges as opportunities to grow and expand.

Are you a dabbler or a master?

What has worked well for me with regards to staying on track with my goals is knowing what my vision is for my life and my business. I refuse to compromise my vision for a shiny object.

You have to step back and ask yourself, “Is this opportunity a distraction, or will it add value to my business?” Sometimes it can be useful to be adaptive, if it serves a purpose.

What matters most is that you master whatever it is that most supports the overall vision for your life. Make sure that you finish the race before you start a new one. If you don't, the “Shiny Object Syndrome” will kill your results.

Discipline your time, energy and focus to the tasks that will bring you one step closer to the achievement of your goals. A mentor of mine once said, “How you do anything is how you do everything.” Build the habit of finishing things that you start, and achieving the goals that you set for yourself.

Avoid the “Shiny Object Syndrome”, and commit your life to mastery. Your business will thank you for it.
