Do you want to get better conversions on your Amazon listing?

The quality of your listing will determine the success of your product on Amazon.

You could have the BEST product in the world. However, if you can't convey and communicate the feature and benefits, you will struggle to get sales.

Amazon is a competitive marketplace. If you want to stand out from the crowd, your Amazon listing needs to rank on the first page.

What is Amazon listing optimization?

This is the process of tailoring your product listing so that you rank as high in the search results as possible. An Amazon listing isn't something that you create once and then never improve.

You always want to be testing and optimizing your Amazon listing. When you improve the conversion rate of your listing, you get more sales. Even better, your product will rank better in Amazon's search results. Don't forget Amazon is a search engine like Google and YouTube.

Best Practices For Amazon Product Listing Images

You want to optimize your image so that it grabs people's attention when they are scrolling on Amazon. The goal is to entice them, so much so that they click on your listing.

First I like to type in the primary keyword of my product and browse Amazon listing images.

I'll take a few steps back from my computer. Of the images that appear on my screen, I identify the ones that stand out the most. I want to see how my product image is showing up in comparison to other ones.

Your goal is to also optimize your image so that it stands out from the competition. You want to test and improve your images over time. Doing so will allow you to determine which one will perform the best.

Your product photography helps you communicate to your ideal customer what your product looks like, how it works, its features, and the benefits of using it. Ideally, you're trying to convince your customer of the reasons why your product is better than your competitor's.

One example of a product photo may be a lifestyle image. This would involve capturing someone using your product in action. You can model yourself using the product. Conversely, you can hire a professional model who represents your ideal customer.

Other examples may be a comparison image, a before and after image, or an infographic. There's a lot that you can do with your product images. Take up all of the available space that Amazon gives you on your listing.

Check out the video above to see some examples of great product listing images using AMZ One Step!

Best Practices For Amazon Product Listing Text

Beyond the image, the second thing that people will see is your product title. When it comes to the title, there are two different approaches that you can take. The first approach is to use up all of the available space that Amazon gives you for the title.

The second approach is to create a shorter title for your Amazon listing. You want to communicate the most important things about your product, one of which will be your primary keyword.

Again, Amazon is a search engine. People go to Amazon and type in keywords into the search bar. If you put the keyword in your title there's a greater likelihood that your listing will show up when people search for that keyword.

Also, you want to think about what the main benefits of your product are. Who is buying your product? What problem does your product solve?

If you can pinpoint the main features and benefits, you'll speak to your ideal customer. Make sure that you test your title, whether that's playing around with different keywords or experimenting with a long title versus a shorter title.

I like to make one change to my listing and then I'll run that test for 3o days. During that time, I'll track the number of sales that I get and the amount of traffic that I receive. For another 30 days, I'll test something else.

After that, I'll do a comparison. You don't want to test everything at once. You want one test running at a time so that you can pinpoint what kind of a difference it made for your business.

Best Practices For Amazon Product Listing Bullet Points & Description

There are two types of buyers – emotional and logical. Emotional buyers see the product and buy it on the spot. Conversely, logical buyers want to read all of the information before they make a decision.

You must optimize your listing for both types of buyers. You want to make sure that your bullets communicate and convey the benefits of your product. Go beyond the features of your product and convey the benefit of each feature.

Your description is an opportunity for you to elaborate on the benefits that your product provides. This is where great copywriting comes in. Think about adding keywords in your bullet points. You can get ideas from your competitors, but do not copy them. Strive to go above and beyond what they have written.

Here's the great news… there is a company called AMZ One Step that does ALL of the above tasks for you. They offer a wide range of Amazon listing optimization services.

Watch the video above where I walk you through the amazing features of this company and what they can do for you!

Have you been struggling with the Amazon product research process?

I know about a NEW tool that makes doing Amazon product research easier than ever before.

Zoof is a software tool that allows you to research the best product opportunities in seconds.

In this blog, I interview Mike McClary about this tool and he walks you through how to find profitable products with Zoof.

If you're ready to maximize your success on Amazon, listen to Mike!

Zoof is a one-stop-shop for all your product research needs.

One of the biggest challenges that new Amazon sellers face is finding profitable product opportunities. Most new Amazon sellers don't have criteria that they follow when they're doing product research.

The product that you choose to sell on Amazon can make or break your success. You want to find products that have high demand, meaning they are already selling well on Amazon. Ideally, you also want to find products that have low competition.

Once you have found a profitable product, the process of selling on Amazon becomes so much easier. There are a lot of great research tools on the market that can help you with the Amazon product research process. It can be tough to choose the right one to go with.

However, there is a new tool that just came out called Zoof, with features that outshine the rest. This software was recently acquired by my friends Matt Clark and Mike McClary. They are the co-founders of Amazing.com.

Watch the video above where Mike McClary shares his computer screen and demonstrates how Zoof works!

Mike McClary has been selling online for over 8 years. He has tried every product selection tool on the market. Unfortunately, every single tool has left him feeling frustrated. None of the tools answered the one question that he and every other seller want to have answered.

This question is…“Which exact products can I sell with the highest profit and the lowest competition so that I have the best chances of success when launching them?”

Zoof has a feature called Spotlight that helps you find the perfect product to sell on Amazon. When you log into the Zoof dashboard you will be asked two questions:

1. What is your budget? ($1,000-$100,000)

2. What kinds of products are you interested in? (you can choose 5 max)

Once you've answered these two questions, Spotlight starts searching through millions of products in its database. Their goal is to find the best product opportunities for you, based on your budget.

In addition to your budget, Spotlight is doing a lot of logic in the background. They want to make sure that each product that you choose has a lot of profit potential and low competition.

As an Amazon seller, this allows you to compete from the get-go.

Spotlight has a feature that allows you to see all of the different top-selling products on Amazon. With other tools, these products would be scattered all over the place. Spotlight looks at the average monthly revenue, the average reviews, and the average price of every top seller for a given product.

For every product that Spotlight has in its database, it knows the Amazon FBA costs, referral fees, estimated manufacturing costs, shipping costs, duties, and taxes of a given product. Thus, you can look for products that are selling a lot AND making a lot of money.

In addition to these profit numbers, Spotlight also looks at the average of the top 10 sellers. This information allows you to come up with an estimated entry-level minimum order quantity (MOQ). Spotlight can take your entry-level MOQ and calculate what your entry-level budget should be.

If you still can't decide which of the product opportunities Spotlight shows you, Mike and his team at Amazing.com have created a Spotlight Score. This takes into account the same 3 factors that they look at when launching products on Amazon:

  • What is the potential?
  • Is there a risk that the product won't take off?
  • What is the likelihood of success after doing a competitor analysis?

All 3 of these factors are taken into account to arrive at a Spotlight Score.

This number is between 1 and 100. The higher the number, the higher the opportunity is for you. There is no other product research tool on the market that offers features like this.

Once you've researched profitable product opportunities, the next step is to do supplier research.

Instead of using a spreadsheet, Spotlight has a feature on its dashboard that allows you to keep track of and store a list of potential suppliers. Since most of the products that you will look for will be sourced from Alibaba, Spotlight has a feature that does a search on Alibaba for those products.

This is how to find profitable products with Zoof!

Not only is Zoof the best product selection tool, but it is also the best tool for organizing your products and keeping track of your suppliers and brands.

The software is designed to help you succeed from the start. Don't miss your opportunity to find the perfect product that can give you lasting financial freedom.

Are you tired of waiting two weeks for your Amazon payouts?

Having to wait this long reduces your cash flow, which means less money to buy more inventory. As a result, your business cannot grow.

There is nothing more frustrating for an Amazon seller.

Inside this blog, I'm going to tell you how you can get paid faster with a financing company called Payability.

If you're ready to get paid EVERY DAY for your Amazon sales. read this!

(Click Here To Watch On YouTube)

How would it feel if you could get paid every day for your Amazon sales? CLICK HERE to sign up for Payability and get a $250 sign-on bonus!

This page contains affiliate links. If you purchase a product through one of them, I will receive a commission (at no additional cost to you). I only ever endorse products that I have personally used and benefitted from personally. Thank you for your support!

How does Amazon pay its sellers?

Once you've set up your Amazon Seller Central account, Amazon will send your payouts to your bank account using an Automated Clearing House (ACH). These payouts will go into your account every two weeks.

However, you won't necessarily get paid on the 1st and the 15th of every month. Payout dates are based on when you start selling on Amazon. Thus, you may have a different payout date from other sellers.

There are 3 scenarios where payments can get delayed.

Scenario #1

If an item is shipped to a customer within 7 days of your payout date, then you will receive your payout in your next pay period.

Scenario #2

Because Amazon is paying you as an ACH bank transfer, the money may be posted in your bank account longer than expected. There may be a 2-5 business day delay. It depends on your bank and where in the world you live.

For example, I'm a Canadian but I sell in the U.S. under my Amazon Seller Central account. Therefore, I always expect a delay because Amazon is sending the money from their bank account in the U.S. to my Canadian bank account.

Scenario #3

If there are chargebacks or claims against your Amazon Seller Central account, your payout money can be held. Similarly, if your account is under review, due to things like negative seller feedback or poor seller performance.

Situations like these can affect your account health and put your account in an account reserve.

Why does Amazon take two weeks to send a payment?

Amazon is obsessed with the customer experience. Thus, they want to make sure that their customers have an amazing experience and that they are satisfied with their shopping experience and products.

The reason for the two-week payout is that Amazon wants the customer to have time to receive, assess the product(s) that they purchase, and return them if they aren't satisfied. Amazon will take all of these factors into account.

If there's a case where a customer returns a product, Amazon will withhold your money from your payout period to cover any costs associated with that return. Similarly, if there are any issues with an order, like the order getting lost in shipping, Amazon may hold your funds while they investigate the issue.

With this in mind, it's really important to make sure that you have high standards as an Amazon seller. If you do this, you won't fall into the trap of compromising your Amazon Seller Central account.

But there is still the issue of not getting paid when you need those funds…

How To Get Paid Faster

The financing company Payability helps you get paid faster. This company has a feature called Instant Access, which allows you to get next-day payouts of your Amazon sales.

For example, let's say on Monday you make $5,000 in sales. On Tuesday, you can get paid 80% of your money, which would be $4,000. The remaining 25% would get paid on your next payment cycle.

That money is held for things like returns and chargebacks. With this option, you no longer have to wait two weeks. Thus, you can grow your Amazon business faster.

A big challenge that a lot of eCommerce sellers have is managing their inventory and cash flow.

If you rely on your two-week payouts to make your next inventory order, you'll get yourself in trouble. For this reason, if your product is selling really well, you want to avoid running out of stock. This is bad for your business. Payability solves this issue for you!

Another awesome feature of Payability is something called Instant Advance.

This feature allows you to get a large sum of money in 24 hours based on no credit checks. The amount of money you can receive is based on your future receivables and sales. They can give you up to $250,000!

If you're looking to scale your Amazon business, but you're limited with your finances, this feature will help you tremendously. This feature is available for those who are selling on marketplaces like Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart.

Keep in mind, whether or not you get approved for this feature depends on your marketplace sales and the overall health of your Amazon Seller Central account.

This is how Amazon payouts work & how to get paid faster.

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned Amazon seller, Payability will be of value to you. You can get set up with this company in ONE business day. Moreover, there are no credit checks required to sign up.

Their application process is based on your Amazon Seller Central account health, history, and seller performance. If you are tired of not having enough cash flow to grow your Amazon business, I encourage you to try using Payability.

When you get paid faster, you can scale quickly. In other words, signing up with Payability is a win-win!

I have been witness to so many inspiring Amazon success stories.

The Amazon marketplace has 9.8 million total sellers worldwide. These are normal people, just like yourself who have been able to transform their lives using the power of Amazon.

The more success stories that I share with you, the more inspired that you will be to start your selling journey. If they can create massive success, so can you. Let's dive into Khabeer's inspiring Amazon story!

How did you discover selling on Amazon? What has your journey been like?

I discovered selling on Amazon in December 2019. At the time, I was doing contract work. However, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of my contracts were coming to an end. I wanted to take the opportunity to focus on something new and create a passive income stream.

I started exploring different business models. Eventually, I came across Tatiana's YouTube channel. I watched all of her videos and became very inspired to start an Amazon business. Because I was already an avid Amazon seller, I knew there was a lot of demand on Amazon.

With people being stuck at home because of the pandemic, the decision to start an Amazon business was a no-brainer. I knew that more people were shopping online because they were forced to. Initially, I was looking at doing retail arbitrage.

In the end, I resonated most with the Amazon FBA model.

I like the idea of private labeling. When I was watching Tatiana's Amazon FBA videos, the one thing that stood out to me was when she spoke about Marketplace Superheroes' amazing scoring system. Knowing that this resource was available gave me more confidence in my Amazon journey.

I haven't looked back since I started in December 2019. In April of 2020, I joined their coaching program. My coach gave me a kick in the bum and I launched three products all at once! Since then, it's been manic.

On average, I'm making about $300 a day selling 3 products in the U.S. Recently I've expanded into the UK. I plan to eventually sell in Australia and Canada. I've got 4 more products on the way. I'm excited for the second half of this year.

How has Marketplace Superheroes helped you get to where you are now?

Marketplace Superheroes has a lot of great content, but the one thing that has benefitted me the most is the amazing community that comes with it. There is a Facebook group that you get access to as part of purchasing the program.

Within that group, all of your questions are answered.

If there is anything that changes with Amazon's terms, policies, or shipping details (which happens regularly), Marketplace Superheroes are the first to communicate those changes. If you invest in them, they invest in you.

What was your mindset around starting with three products? Did one product take off more than the others did?

At the time, I was working with my amazing Amazon coach who gave me the confidence to launch all three products at once. I knew that if I wanted to achieve my financial goals quicker, I had to invest more at the onset. One of the three products flew off the shelves.

At the time, I was getting 80-90 sales per day. As a result, I ended up neglecting my other two products. The irony is that the product that wasn't selling as well ended up giving me more longevity because it was selling more evergreen. At the end of the day, you need to look at the bigger picture.

Marketplace Superheroes encourages you to sell as many products as you can. Naturally, if you only have two products, you will stress out if one isn't doing well. However, if you have 10-15 products, it won't be as much of an issue if a few don't do well.

What advice would you give to someone who is just getting started?

Marketplace Superheroes encourages people to sell on as many marketplaces as they can. At the moment, I'm selling in the UK and the U.S. However, moving forward all of my products will be selling in Canada, Europe, and Australia. As part of Europe, you get access to seven countries.

There are more and more marketplaces that are opening up all around the world.

With more and more businesses going online due to the pandemic, I feel that Amazon is the best eCommerce business to invest in. Amazon has over 60 million products in its catalog.

You are guaranteed to find a product there that you can sell and make money from. It's the best thing that I've ever done. I hope that a lot more people get to experience the success that I have.

This is how Khabeer makes $300 per day selling on Amazon.

Ideally, the best time to start selling on Amazon was yesterday! Don't wait one day longer. The eCommerce world is booming. Now is the time to capitalize on Amazon's ever-growing platform.

Is Amazon's payout cycle stopping you from scaling your Amazon business faster?

Let's face it.. a two-week payout can make it challenging to buy new inventory when you rely on that cash flow.

Cash flow is king for any online business when ordering stock is a priority. Imagine if you could get access to your Amazon funds in as fast as 24 hours.

Great news… you can!

Inside this blog, I reveal how you can get more quick cash flow using a financing service called Payability

Amazon sellers struggle with having enough cash flow.

Amazon's two-week payout cycle does nothing but stifles the growth and scalability of your Amazon business. Delaying new orders due to a lack of cash flow can mean your products sell out, which means running out of inventory.

If you run out of stock, customers can't buy your product. This means dissatisfied customers, which is a no-no with Amazon. In fact, Amazon can penalize you when this happens. Your Amazon listing can drop down in rankings, which means less organic sales.  You want to avoid doing this at all costs.

Payability is a financing company that helps Amazon sellers and other eCommerce sellers address their cash flow issues. Since the beginning of 2020 alone, Payability has provided over $1 billion in funding to eCommerce sellers.

Even if you're selling on Shopify, eBay, Walmart, or another platform, Payability has a solution for this, known as Instant Access.

This feature allows you to get your payout in as fast as 24 hours. Thus, you no longer have to wait two weeks to receive your money. You can purchase more inventory faster, improve your current product(s), hire people, launch a new product on Amazon, or invest in marketing/advertising.

Let's say that you made $10,000 in sales on Amazon. Tomorrow you can receive 80% of that. The remaining 20% is reserved to cover returns and chargebacks and will be released to you in two weeks. This is a huge game-changer for Amazon sellers.

To set up your Payability account and take advantage of Instant Access, you need to show proof that you have been selling on Amazon for at least 3 months. Also, on average you have to be making $2,000 in monthly sales over a 3 month period.

Setting up a Payability account is fast and easy.

This is not a loan, so there are no credit checks involved. Your eligibility is based on the history and performance of your Amazon Seller Central account. There is a 1-2% fee that is based on your gross sales.

Another amazing feature of Payability is something called Instant Advance. They will buy up to $250,000 of future receivables from you, upfront, and at a discount.

The traditional route for getting funding for your Amazon business is to get a loan. If you take this route, you will have to pay interest on the loan, which can impact your credit score. Secondly, you would need to find an investor and give up some of the equity of your Amazon business.

You don't need to do any of this with Payability. Once you are approved by them, you will receive your Amazon funds in 24 hours. A typical advance would be 75-150% of your 1-month sales revenue.

Payability helps you fund your Amazon business and get faster payouts.

If you are tired of waiting for your payouts, I encourage you to take advantage of this great service. It's a smart way to stay ahead of the competition and scale your Amazon business fast!

Can you make money on Amazon even if you don't have any money?

How much money do you need to start an Amazon FBA business?

A lot of people underestimate the costs that are involved with an Amazon business. Tatiana and I want to break down the process for you so that you know exactly how much money you will need. When starting an Amazon business, there are up-front costs.

The biggest cost will be your inventory, which you will order from a manufacturer, in bulk. The number of units that you order will be determined based on your manufacturer's minimum order quantity. The majority of your money will go towards investing in inventory.

Amazon receives your products at their fulfillment center. Amazon has hundreds of fulfillment centers all around the world. You will need to pay the FBA fee and the referral fee for using their centers. Also, you need to consider what the fees will be for marketing your products.

You can't just launch a product on Amazon and hope that you magically generate sales. That's not how it works. Yes, there are ways that you can start your business with less money. This may involve finding a product that doesn't cost a lot of money to source from, placing a smaller inventory order, and/or saving on your marketing expenses.

However, if your goal is to make a lot of money on Amazon, starting with less money will be an uphill battle. In reality, it's only setting you up for disappointment and struggle.

On top of that, less money means a limited number of products to pursue. This means that you will have to settle for products that may not have the best profit margins or demand. In an already competitive market, this is not the best idea.

This is why we recommend that you start an Amazon business with a couple of thousand dollars.

If you don't have that money, we want to help guide you in a better direction. The goal is to be financially secure enough to start an Amazon business the right way. Before you even consider starting any type of business there is one thing that you need to accept and understand – you're going to fail and make mistakes along the way.

This is why Tatiana and I are big believers in investing in an Amazon training program. Learning from others who have been where you want to go will help prevent you from losing money and making unnecessary mistakes. In turn, you will be able to better leverage the power of Amazon and catapult your success.

Another thing to take into account is that building a business is a long-term investment. You won't see results right away. It's not like a 9 to 5 job where you get paid for the 40 hours of work that you put in. If that's what you were expecting, this may not be the business for you.

You can put 1,000 hours into any online business and still not make any money from your efforts whatsoever. It's not about the amount of time or money that you invest in your business. Rather, it's about what you create and the amount of value that you add.

You need to get real with yourself and determine if you're willing to delay gratification and build an asset that will provide for you, long-term.

Now that I've given you the hard truth, let's explore the other avenues on Amazon that you can take advantage of if you aren't financially secure yet.

Publishing books on Amazon is a cheaper alternative to selling physical products.

This is a great business model for getting your feet wet and learning how Amazon works. If you choose to write your own book, the only cost involved is hiring someone to design a book cover. This is something that can be done fairly inexpensively via the platform, Fiverr.

That being said, I would recommend that you hire a book editor and invest some money into the marketing of your book. If you have a couple of hundred books, hire a ghostwriter to write your book for you. This will save you a lot of time and energy. You can find a lot of experienced freelance writers via the platform Upwork.

Although you won't make a lot of money with this business model, you can still expect to make a couple hundred to a couple of thousand dollars per month from an Amazon Book Publishing business.

A second avenue for making money on Amazon is by being an Amazon affiliate. You can start with very little money. This model gives you the opportunity to promote products on Amazon and earn an affiliate commission from that. However, in order to apply for Amazon's affiliate program, Amazon Associates, you will need to have a website.

There are some expenses involved in creating a website, like purchasing a domain name and setting up hosting.

I'll be honest, it can be challenging to make a lot of money as an Amazon affiliate. If you're interested in doing affiliate marketing, there are a lot of other better opportunities that you can explore. I created an affiliate marketing program called Affiliate Marketing Mastery that shows you how you can turn your passions into profits and create a consistent stream of passive income.

Alternatively, if you have experience in a skill like accounting, blog writing, video editing, or graphic design, you could always become a freelancer online. It's easy to promote your services via Upwork or Fiverr.

Companies will pay you for your services on a per-project or per-hour basis. If you have the desire to eventually build an Amazon FBA business, freelancing is a great way to start saving so that you can eventually invest in a business of your own.

If you are serious about building an Amazon business, I encourage you to follow Tatiana's YouTube channel where she shares her best tips and strategies for success with eCommerce.

This is how to make money on Amazon. But first, are you financially ready?

If money is tight right now, your #1 priority is figuring out what you can do to get your finances in order. If you can't do that, building an online business may not be for you. Trust me when I say that figuring out how to build a successful business is a lot harder in comparison to finding some extra work.

When you have a good amount of money to invest in an Amazon business, you will go so much further and faster than you ever would if you budget your way through the process.

At the end of the day, it always comes down to how bad you want success. If you are willing to make the necessary sacrifices and work as if your life depends on it, there is no limit to how far you can go and how much money you can make.

The question now is, how bad do you want it?

People trust Amazon.

In our digital age, consumers have buying power. A study shows that 89% of consumers are more likely to buy products from Amazon than other eCommerce sites. People buy from people whom they like and trust, and these numbers prove that Amazon outshines the competition.

The moment that I discovered that I could make money publishing books online I was sold. In only a few short months I was making $4,000 in passive income and I never looked back. I've been an Amazon book publisher for 9 years now and have gone on to build a successful Amazon book publishing business, in addition to other businesses.

Amazon has made it easy for anyone to publish a book on their platform. You don't need to be an author, nor do you need previous business experience. For this reason alone, I believe that building an Amazon book publishing business is a great way to start selling online.

Recently, my fiancée Tatiana interviewed me on her YouTube channel about how to make money on Amazon selling books. Tatiana started an Amazon FBA business with zero business experience and has gone on to build a 7-figure brand in less than 4 years. If you feel called to start an Amazon FBA business and need help doing so, I encourage you to follow her.

Below are some of the questions that Tatiana asked me. Over the years, I've helped thousands of people make passive income from the comfort of their homes. It's been amazing to see how people's lives have changed because of Amazon. I hope my answers inspire you to take advantage of the amazing opportunity that Amazon provides.

Let's dive in!

What does it mean to publish and sell books on Amazon?

People go to Amazon because they are looking to buy something. The process of selling books on Amazon is similar to selling physical products, but it's a lot simpler. It starts with identifying a niche, the keywords, and the topics that are in high demand on Amazon. The next step is to write a book.

You can either write a book yourself or you can hire a ghostwriter to write it for you. There are more writers looking for work than ever before. In my Mastering Book Publishing course, I teach people how to be a publisher and a marketer. That is where the real money is made.

The most successful entrepreneurs outsource their work so that they can work on their business instead of in it. Doing so ensures that you can publish 5-10 books at one time, instead of just one. This is the best way to scale your business. If you go to Fiverr.com you can get a cover designed relatively inexpensively.

Once you have your book and cover formatted as a Kindle and paperback version, you can publish your book on Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). Your book will be live on all of Amazon's platform and ready for purchase in less than 48 hours. The speed with which you can do all of this is a lot faster than selling physical products.

What stops a lot of people from writing their first book is that they assume that it has to be 300 pages long. This is far from true. I encourage people to write shorter books when they are first starting. Write a book that is 30-50 pages long and price it between .99 cents to $2.99 so that you're not taking a big risk from the get-go.

If your book ends up doing well, you can go back and improve it over time.

The only challenge with books is that it's harder to make significant amounts of money with it. If you have the money, I encourage you to start an Amazon FBA business. However, if money is tight right now, an Amazon book publishing business is a great starting point. This will help you get your feet wet and gain some experience on the Amazon platform. Once you start making money online, you can eventually transition to Amazon FBA if that's what you want to do.

How much money can people expect to make with Kindle publishing?

Amazon has grown so much over the years. Today, their marketplace and customer base is huge. Every niche, category, and keyword has different potential. On average, people are making a couple hundred or a couple thousand dollars a month selling books on Amazon.

If you want to build a 6-figure Amazon book publishing business, you have to sell a lot of books.

Think of your book as a business card. When people buy your book, they are building a relationship with you. You can funnel people who read your book into another product. For example, if you published a book on meditation, you could create a meditation mat or yoga block and sell it on Amazon FBA.

Your book should never be your whole business. I'm a proponent of building a brand in a niche that has books, physical products, and online courses. This is how I've been able to build a 7-figure brand.

Can you tell us more about your new course, Mastering Book Publishing?

I started teaching people how to publish books on Amazon back in 2013. I created a course called, Kindle Money Mastery. It went on to help thousands upon thousands of people make their first dollars online. For the last two years, I've been reworking my original course.

My new and improved course is called Mastering Book Publishing. It teaches you, step by step, how to get started selling books on Amazon. I have another course called Mastering Book Marketing that teaches you how to market your book outside of Amazon which will give you a huge competitive advantage.

This is the best time to start selling on Amazon for beginners.

The Coronavirus pandemic has shifted life online. This means that more and more people are shopping online, which includes buying books. Amazon's stocks recently hit an all-time high, making them a trillion-dollar company. As the world returns, Amazon is going to be stronger than ever before.

As more people buy on Amazon, everyone who sells on Amazon will benefit too. I know that a lot of people are moving through some financially difficult times right now. If you can relate, I encourage you to use your pain as motivation and take advantage of the opportunities that Amazon provides, whether that's book publishing or Amazon FBA.

Get motivated and take action! Your financial future will thank you for it.

This is my step-by-step tutorial on how to self publish a book on Amazon with Kindle Direct Publishing.

For demonstration purposes, throughout this blog, I am going to refer to a book that I self-published on Amazon called 67 Morning Ritual Habits For Your Body, Mind, and Spirit.

This will help you better make sense of the self-publishing process. What is amazing about Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) is that anyone can self publish a book on Amazon, from anywhere in the world, for free.

You don't have to be an expert or a best-selling author. If you have a message that you want to share with the world, you can do so through Amazon's platform.

If you're ready to discover my step-by-step system for how you can become a successful self-publisher, keep reading!

Self-publishing has become the new norm.

More and more people have been making the transition from shopping at traditional book stores to online stores. This has positioned Amazon as the go-to platform for all of their buying needs. It's fair to say that Amazon has rewritten the book industry, asserting an unparalleled customer base for the e-books, paperbacks, and audiobooks it publishes. Amazon has millions of customers on their platform.

On top of that, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced people around the world to quarantine and slow down, which has resulted in people buying and reading more books. There are countless self-publishers who have been able to quit their jobs and build successful book publishing businesses.

In my opinion, there has never been a better time to start an Amazon book publishing business and take advantage of the opportunities that Amazon provides. Here is my step-by-step tutorial on how to self publish a book on Amazon. Let's dive in!

1. Create a Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) Account

Kindle Direct Publishing is Amazon's self-publishing platform. It's free to sign up. All you need is an Amazon account. If you already have a personal Amazon account, I would recommend setting up a separate one for business and self-publishing purposes. Keep in mind that you need a different email address to do so.

You can earn up to a 70% royalty with every book you publish on Amazon. Once you upload your book on Amazon's platform, your book will be live, worldwide, and ready for purchase within 24-48 hours. It's a fairly easy and simple process. Amazon has some great tools for marketing your book so I suggest you browse their platform to learn more about what they have to offer.

Publishing a Kindle book is easier to publish than a paperback version. With a Kindle book, all you need is the book file, the specific format that is required, and a cover. With a paperback version, you will need a back cover and a spine. You can get this designed, inexpensively, by hiring a graphic designer via Fiverr.com.

2. Create Your Book Title

You want your book title to be catchy so that it grabs people's attention. When they see and hear your book title you want them to want to click on the Amazon listing to learn more. I recommend using Amazon Search as a way to optimize your book for different keywords.

This will help rank your book higher for those keywords and attract more potential customers. In terms of the author's name, you can use your name or a pseudonym. It's totally up to you. You can also add contributors to your book title. If you are the publisher and there's a secondary author who has the rights to the book, you can use his/her name.

3. Write Your Book Description

You are given 4,000 characters to write a book description. You don't have to use all of the characters. However, the more space you use, the more it can help with the ranking of your book. The primary purpose of the description is for people to learn more about your book before they buy it.

You can talk about what inspired you to write the book, what people will learn from reading it, and the benefits of buying the book. This will intrigue people to buy. Think of it as a sales pitch. I like to include a call-to-action at the end of any sales copy. This directs people to buy your book.

You want to determine if you own the rights to your book or if its public domain work. If you wrote the book, you own the rights. Conversely, if you decide to hire a ghostwriter to write it for you, make sure that you still own the rights to your book.

4. Choose The Right Keywords

Keywords help people find your book on Amazon Search. I recommend that you use seven keywords that are relevant to your book. Think about what keywords people would search for to find your book on Amazon. For my book, I would type in keywords like morning ritual, morning routine, habits, motivation, etc.

If you choose keywords and your book ranks for those, you can attract more customers to your book. Knowing which keywords to target, based on which ones are high in demand, is important. If you choose keywords that nobody is searching for, people won't be able to find your book.

If you want help doing Amazon keyword research, I highly recommend using the software Kindle Spy. This tool allows you to find the right category to get ranked and helps you identify the best keywords in that category.

5. Select The Right Categories

This is where your book is going to rank and be listed in a variety of different categories on Amazon. You can rank as the best seller in each of the different categories.

Some categories are easier to rank for than others are. If you want to rank in more than one category, I recommend that you research your competitors' keywords and choose categories that are lower in competition, Again, Kindle Spy is a great tool to do this.

6. Upload Your Manuscript To KDP

Review Amazon's content guidelines to make sure that your book is compatible with what KDP requires. Decide whether or not you want to go with digital rights management (DRM). This means that you will allow people to unauthorize the distribution of your book. I usually don't want to go this route but it's your choice.

In terms of the manuscript, Amazon accepts a doc.x, ePub, or KPF file. Choose which format you want to use to upload your book. KDP can help you format your book on its platform. However, I would recommend someone to help you with this via Fiverr.com.

Your book must look good on a Kindle e-reader device. Once you've uploaded your manuscript, you want to preview it to make sure that there are no errors or mistakes. That can lead to negative reviews.

7. Create Your Book Cover

For your book cover, you need a JPG or a PNG file. Again, you can find someone on Fiverr.com to design this for you. Another platform I recommend is 99 Designs. This platform allows you to put on a contest and have designers from all over the world compete to create a design for your book cover. It's a little more expensive but you get a lot of quality options.

Your cover is really important. People judge books by their cover. It is the first thing that people see when they are scrolling through book options. If it stands out, they will be inspired to click on it. If you want to turn your Kindle or paperback book into an audiobook that can be published on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes, I highly recommend using ACX.com.

When it comes to the writing of your book, if you decide that you want to hire a ghostwriter, I recommend going to Upwork.com. It's one of my go-to places to find editors, proof-readers, and editors to help build my business.

8. Decide To Enroll in KDP Select or Distribute Your Book Elsewhere

KDP Select is a program that you can enroll your book in with Amazon. This means that your book becomes exclusive on Amazon. In other words, it can't be sold anywhere else. This is a contract that you have to agree to for 90 days and can extend thereafter. In doing so, you get certain benefits through Amazon.

For example, you can get more royalties, do a free promotion, or do a Kindle countdown deal. If you plan to distribute your book on other platforms, you can't use this feature. However, if you're only going to stick with Amazon, I recommend enrolling in KDP Select.

9. Price Your Book

There are two different pricing structures for a Kindle book. There is a 35% royalty, meaning that your book has to be sold within a certain price range, from .99 cents to $200. However, if you want the 70% royalty, Amazon incentivizes you to sell it for $2.99 to $9.99. They've determined that this is how they want to price books on their platform.

10. Create A Book Marketing Plan

Before you launch your book, it is imperative that you have a marketing plan in place. Just because you write an amazing book doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to sell on Amazon. If you are interested in learning more about book marketing, I have a program called Mastering Book Marketing. Inside this program, I provide you with cutting-edge marketing tactics and techniques that will allow you to sell more of your books on Amazon and build your online business over the long term.

How would your life change if you built a $10,000 per month Amazon book publishing business?

I'm going to show you how you can build an Amazon business from scratch, even if you're not a writer or have never sold anything online.

With the current state of the world, more and more people have been forced to shop online. This has made Amazon the go-to place for everyone’s buying needs.

Over a 3 month period during which time large parts of the US were quarantined due to COVID-19, Amazon sold more than $50 billion in products.

There is no better time to build an Amazon book publishing business. If you want my step-by-step system for how you can create a $10,00 per month business, keep reading…

This page contains affiliate links. If you purchase a product through one of them, I will receive a commission (at no additional cost to you). I only ever endorse products that I have personally used and benefitted from personally. Thank you for your support!

I've been selling books on Amazon for over 9 years now.

I have been able to build a 7-figure Amazon book publishing business and have gone on to help thousands of people do the same. Imagine creating a business that allows you to make money while you sleep. A business that can help you quit your 9 to 5 job and create financial the freedom that you've always desired. That's what building an Amazon book publishing business can give you.

I wrote and published a book last year called, 67 Morning Ritual Habits For Your Body, Mind, and Spirit. The Kindle eBook version sells for $2.99 and I get a 70% royalty from it. I also have a paperback version of my book that sells for $10 and an audiobook version.

Amazon allows me to publish all three versions of my book on three different platforms. In turn, I make more money from that one book. If I decided to, I could publish many different books in one niche. If each book made me $1,000 per month, I could publish ten books, which would be $10,000 per month. Make sense?

Conversely, I could build a backend. Building a backend allows you to make a lot more money and sell higher ticket products.  Acquiring a customer for the first time is challenging because he/she doesn't yet know who you are or what your product is all about. However, once they've bought once from you and enjoyed what you have to offer, it will be easier for you to sell them on your next product. This is how you build long-term relationships with your customers.

Watch the video above where I walk you through a visual diagram that talks in-depth about strategies that you can adopt to create a $10,000 per month Amazon book publishing business!

I want to break this process down for you so that you understand how it works. If your goal is to make $10,000 per month, you have to know what you need to do to accomplish that. If you want to publish a book on Amazon you first need to identify what niche you want to publish your book in.

In my case, I chose a book in the self-development space that focused on morning rituals. However, I've published over 100 books in many different niches, some of which I wrote myself while others I hired writers for. I started with self-development because I had a passion for it. I've been improving my life since I was 17 years old. The first book that I ever published was a dating eBook for men.

I used to struggle a lot with social anxiety and confidence issues when it came to interacting with women. It was painful, but I did the inner work, took what I learned from my experiences, and packaged that into a book. As I was learning self-development, I soon realized that I could publish many books on many different topics, based on the research that I did on Amazon.

Let me give you an example to show you how selling a book on Amazon works.

Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) incentivizes you to publish a Kindle book for $2.99-$9.99 and they will pay you a 70% royalty for that. If you charge outside of that range, you will only get a 35% royalty.

Let's say that you sell 100 copies of a Kindle book that is priced at $2.99, which results in $207 per month in royalties. Similarly, let's say that you sell the same book as a paperback version which you price at $12.99. You sell 100 copies, which gives you $564 in royalties per month. Finally, you sell 100 copies of an audiobook version, priced at $6.95, which gives you $208 in royalties per month.

This means that you would make a total of $1,000 per month from three different versions of one book. You have the option of rinsing and repeating the same process by publishing a second book. I'm not saying that one book will make you that much money. That may be over-ambitious for you. However, it is possible. It all depends on what you want to accomplish in your Amazon book publishing business.

The question is, “Once you publish your book on Amazon, how do you market it?”

On Amazon, you can market your book in one of two ways – via Amazon search or by using Amazon ads. This is the approach that most people take. It's a great place to start. However, you can scale your business if you go outside of Amazon. How much your book is going to make through Amazon search and ads will be based on how big the market is.

This is why you want to think about how you can get traffic from outside of Amazon.

One way of doing this is by building a blog, similar to what I did with my brand, Project Life Mastery. This is what gives you a competitive advantage. I have used my books to build my blog and visa versa. Amazon wants you to promote your book to other places on the Internet to create more exposure to your book. This is what will help them acquire more customers and sales on their platform that they wouldn't normally get had you not promoted elsewhere.

In turn, they will reward you by bringing more traffic to your book. If you're not a fan of blogging, you could start a podcast or a YouTube channel. Even better, you could go on a media tour! This is a great way of leveraging yourself to promote your book. This is one of many strategies that you can use to promote your book outside of Amazon.

However, I want to show you the easier way to make $10,000 per month and build a sustainable Amazon book publishing business. The challenge with publishing books on Amazon is that you're dependent on Amazon. If Amazon makes a change, your income could be gone. I don't want you to just make $10,000 per month for 1-3 months. Rather, I want you to make this kind of money for as long as you want. This is what a lot of people might not teach you.

Building the backend is how you scale up your business.

Once you acquire a customer, you want to build a long-term relationship with him/her. In my book, I say, “If you enjoyed this book, I would like to give you a gift. I have an additional free cheatsheet that will go more in-depth on this topic. Click this link and check it out! All you need to do is put in your name and email to receive it.”

I would then send someone to an opt-in page where they would give me their name/email. By doing this, not only am I giving more value, but I'm also acquiring a lead and building my email list. Over some time, I can build and nurture relationships with people.

Once people opt-in, I send them an email with a link to my bonus cheatsheet. Inside this email, I can also mention and link to one of my courses that can help them get to where they want to go on a deeper level. People usually don't buy right away, which is why it's important to build relationships with people through emails. You can automate this entire email process using AWeber or ClickFunnels.

When it comes to publishing books on Amazon, the first thing you need to do is set up a free KDP account with Amazon.

Like I said above, you can publish three versions of your book – as a Kindle, a paperback, and an audiobook. If you want to turn your Kindle or paperback book into an audiobook that can be published on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes, I highly recommend using ACX.com. This is a great way to get more reach with your book.

When it comes to designing your book cover, check out Fiverr.com where you will find a lot of graphic designers who can do the work for you fairly inexpensively. When it comes to writing your book, if you don't want to write it yourself you can hire a freelance writer to do it for you via Upwork.com. Lastly, when it comes to researching which niches and markets are making the most money on Amazon, I recommend getting the software, Kindle Spy. This is a great way to leverage your success as an Amazon publisher.

Are you ready to create a $10,000 per month Amazon book publishing business?

I view a successful business as one that has many different streams of income. Building this type of business is what will allow you to achieve the financial freedom that you desire. This won't happen overnight. However, if you stick with it and are committed to building something sustainable, there is no limit to how successful you can be.
