Do you have limiting beliefs that are holding you back from living your best life?

False beliefs are conditioned from childhood. Many of us don't think to question these beliefs because they are stored in our subconscious minds.

As a result, we may not even be aware of the ways in which they affect us on a daily basis. Disempowering beliefs have one goal – to sabotage your potential.

If you're ready to stop being a victim of your thoughts and start becoming a master of your mind, read this.

Limiting beliefs hinder success.

What you think directly influences how you feel and how you behave. Whatever you believe is what will be true for YOU, whether it's based on reality or not. There is no right or wrong belief.

Limiting beliefs are exactly what they sound like – they are disempowering stories that limit what you believe is possible. You can have the desire to pursue something, but if you don't believe that you can achieve it, you will never take action.

As an example, if you don't think you deserve success, you will feel like a failure. In turn, this will reinforce your belief that you aren't destined for success. Thus, your beliefs will turn into self-fulfilling prophecies.

The good news is that you have the power to change your limiting beliefs. You are the architect of your psychology.

I believe that it is our responsibility to question and challenge every single belief that we have about ourselves and the world. Unlearning requires that we dissolve old thought patterns, habits, and default mental frameworks. When you unlearn, you open yourself to new ways of thinking and new possibilities.

Ask yourself – what are the facts to support that these beliefs are true? Is there evidence to refute these beliefs?

Once you have gone through the process of challenging your beliefs, you then want to start adopting new beliefs. When you believe in something empowering, it will lead to new actions that will create amazing results.

Let's talk about 3 limiting beliefs holding you back from success.

1. “I am _____.”

Having disempowering beliefs about yourself have one purpose – they hold you back from reaching your potential in life. Saying things like, “I am a failure”, “I am ugly” or “I am shy” are merely stories that assume that you can't do something.

When you accept these beliefs as facts, you create experiences that affirm those beliefs. Whatever you attach to the words “I am” is what you become. It is creating your identity. Your identity is a series of beliefs about who you are.

A belief is a feeling of certainty about what something means, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's true. We download a lot of our limiting beliefs in childhood.

In his best-selling book, The Biology of Belief, Dr. Bruce Lipton says that, from birth to age seven, we operate primarily in brain wavelengths that are close to a hypnotic state. When we're operating like this, we observe what adults are saying and doing, and we download that information.

Be mindful of how you talk to yourself because your mind is always listening. When you commit to consciously reprogram your beliefs and build new habits of thinking and behaving, you take back control of your life.

2. “I can't _____.”

Whatever you set your mind to, you can achieve. There is nothing that you cannot do. What you will do is a different story altogether. As Tony Robbins says – Change is never a matter of ability, it’s always a matter of motivation.

When you question WHY something is the way it is, it empowers you to think differently. I used to have debilitating social anxiety, to the point where I couldn't speak in public. I made it my goal to learn how to overcome this fear because I was driven to become more.

Nobody is born with abilities. Rather, we create who we are based on the beliefs that we live by. For this reason alone, success is an inner game. Don't allow a few failed attempts to determine why you can't do something. Every moment is a new opportunity to be, do, and have whatever life that you want.

3. “I don't have the _____.”

“I don't have the money”, “I don't have the time”, or “I don't have the resources.” These are all B.S. statements — belief systems. If you're committed enough you will invest the time to make something happen, at the expense of something else.

Again, it's not a matter of ability. Rather, it's a matter of motivation. It's how you use your time that matters most. Once you have recognized what your “I don't have the” statement is, work to replace your limiting beliefs with empowering alternatives.

As an example, if your limiting belief is, “I don't deserve change” an empowering alternative can be, “I am constantly growing and evolving. I have the power to become who I want to be.” Never close off your mind to what is possible. Stay open and have faith.

Are you ready to break free from your limiting beliefs?

Don't allow your limiting beliefs to hijack your success! Make it a priority to question every thought that you have. When you change your thoughts, you change your beliefs. When you change your beliefs, you create a new reality, with you as the hero of your life story.

What are your limiting beliefs?

I am not good enough. I'll never find love. I don't deserve success. Making money is difficult. It's too late to pursue my dreams.

We all have limiting beliefs – those nagging disempowering thoughts that creep up on us at the worst possible time. Their sole purpose is to create so much fear, to the point where we take no action and remain stuck in one place.

Limiting beliefs are thoughts, opinions that one believes to be the absolute truth. Here's the thing… a lot of your limiting beliefs aren't even yours. We create beliefs in our childhood, based on behaviors that we learn from our parents. As we get older, we take on these beliefs as our own. They become a part of our identity. As a result, we don't think to question whether or not these beliefs are true.

Just because you believe something doesn't necessarily mean that it's true. Unfortunately, a lot of people go to great lengths to convince themselves otherwise. In turn, their beliefs turn into self-fulfilling prophecies and impact how they think, act, and feel. When we experience painful events, we attach meanings to those events.

If those meanings are negative, so too will our beliefs about who we are and what is possible. In turn, we will create mental blocks that keep us stuck in the past.

Here's an example to prove this point.

If you believe that you'll never meet a partner because you have social anxiety, naturally you will be less inclined to go out and spark up conversations with new people. In turn, the fewer connections you make, the more you will self-isolate, and the worse your social anxiety will become. Limiting beliefs only serve to sabotage your well-being, making you feel like a victim of your circumstances.

This is why it's so important that you challenge your limiting beliefs. Be willing to look at your beliefs with an open mind. Ask yourself the following questions:

 • Is this belief true?
 • What evidence do I have that proves that this belief is false?
 • Have I always believed this?
 • What triggers prompt this belief to come up?
 • Who in my family also shares this belief?

Once you have enough evidence to prove that your limiting beliefs are not true, you can create more empowering beliefs that replace the disempowering ones. The best way to change negative thinking is to reframe how you think about something.

This is known as “cognitive reframing.”

The goal of this approach is to counter negative thoughts with positive thoughts using the “Yes, But” technique. For example, “Yes, it is true that I haven't found a partner yet, but I am currently doing the inner work to become the best version of myself so that I can call in my dream person.” The next step is to take action and start practicing your new beliefs.

If you avoid this step, you will only fall back into old patterns of negative thinking. Remember that what you focus on, grows. If you want a life that is filled with abundance, happiness, and success, make sure that your thoughts are congruent with those desires.

This is how to eliminate your limiting beliefs and become truly free.

I believe that all breakthroughs in life start with a change in beliefs. When you change your beliefs, you change the course of your entire journey. Your psychology is the chokehold of your success. You can't take the next big step until you master your mindset and upgrade your thinking.

Tony Robbins once said: “The only thing that’s keeping you from getting what you want is the story you keep telling yourself.”

What belief are you telling yourself that is limiting you from becoming the person you desire to be? You have the opportunity to rewrite your story and reprogram your thoughts. Choose to be the hero of your life story. How will your first chapter read?

Don't ever underestimate the extraordinary power of beliefs.

Becoming aware of your core beliefs is the first step in achieving your goals and dreams in life. Research shows that most of our decisions, actions, emotions, and behavior depend on the 95% of brain activity that is beyond our conscious awareness. These findings prove that our mind is a powerful tool.

The Law of Attraction states that you create your own reality, which is why it is so important to pay attention to what is happening in your inner world. In the words of Abraham Hicks, “That which you think in any moment, attracts unto itself other thoughts that are like it.”

Believing in yourself is the foundation for success. The beauty of choice is that you get to decide what you want to believe. It is your right as a human being. Are you ready to learn how you can leverage the extraordinary power of beliefs?

Are you ready to learn how you can leverage the extraordinary power of beliefs?

If it’s true that we create our reality, then why not believe in the best of everything? Unfortunately, this is where a lot of people get stuck.

They allow their limiting beliefs to sabotage their success. Here’s the thing – your limiting beliefs are all B.S. They don’t serve you. The beautiful thing is that you have the power to change them.

Whether your beliefs are based on reality or not doesn’t matter. All that matters is whether or not your beliefs empower or disempower you. Believing that you CAN do something is the name of the game, despite the fact that there may be surrounding evidence to suggest that it isn’t possible.

The extraordinary power of beliefs is best reflected in the many amazing things that we benefit from in today’s world. These things exist because people before us held the belief that they were possible.

Roger Bannister ran the 4-minute mile when there was no evidence to exist that it could be done. Mohammad Ali called himself the greatest before he achieved anything. Walt Disney ignored the 102 banks that told him that building Disney World was a bad idea. Thomas Eddison invented the lightbulb when everyone said that it wasn’t going to work.

These are just some of the many examples of people who possessed an unwavering belief in themselves, despite the opinions of others.

When I was in high school, I didn’t have any beliefs about myself because I had a really weak self-identity. As a result, I let my environment dictate how I felt and what I believed about myself and my abilities.

People would call me a loser or say that I was stupid. I believed it to be true.

In his book, The Believing Brain: From Ghosts and Gods to Politics and Conspiracies—How We Construct Beliefs and Reinforce Them as Truths, Dr. Michael Shermer says that “We form our beliefs for a variety of subjective, personal, emotional, and psychological reasons in the context of environments created by family, friends, colleagues, culture, and society at large; after forming our beliefs we then defend, justify, and rationalize them with a host of intellectual reasons and rational explanations.

I encourage you to start questioning your beliefs. Find the evidence for why they are true or false. This was a game changer moment for me. One day I stepped back and challenged myself by saying, “Where do these beliefs that I have come from?” Not surprisingly, realized that many of the beliefs that I held about myself were false.

Even though I was a very shy kid in high school, I made the choice that I was going to be confident. How did I do it? Through conditioning my mindset every day. I knew that if I shifted my belief system, my behaviors would follow.

People change their behaviors before their beliefs, and guess what happens? The behaviors don’t last.

Let me give you an example.

You can believe that you need to lose weight because your belief system tells you that you are fat. You can engage in the behaviors that promote weight loss, and you will lose some weight. However, if you still believe that you are fat, you will fall back into a negative cycle of self-sabotage, because “fat” is how you define yourself.

This is why it is so important to create empowering beliefs for yourself. Some of the ways that you can harness these uplifting thoughts are through exercises like, reciting positive affirmations, doing yoga, meditating, or engaging in spiritual study.

The extraordinary power of beliefs is seen in how you move throughout your everyday life. When you wake up in the morning, do you take time to condition your mindset for success, or do you roll out of bed, slam a coffee and run out the door?

I am a big believer in the power of morning rituals. I have been doing them since I was 17 years old. They have been the most effective way that I have been able to crush my limiting beliefs, transform my overall state of mind, and attract amazing things and people into my life.

If you don't believe in yourself, how do you expect anyone to believe in you?

Whatever you believe, you attract. You are creating your future with every single thought, whether you want to believe it or not. When you believe something to be true you will always look for ways to justify and support that belief.

If you want to change your life, you need to understand what your role is in the Law of Attraction. Let’s explore 4 ways that you can make the Law of Attraction work for you.

1. Practice Gratitude

Being grateful for what you already have is one of the most powerful ways to elevate your vibration and bring yourself into alignment with the energy of the Universe. It doesn’t matter how tough life is, there is always something that you can be grateful for.

When you focus on the good, that is what you will attract into your life.

Have you ever tried to accomplish anything when you feel down and out? It’s nearly impossible. Practicing gratitude on a daily basis allows you to fill your mind with positive thoughts. In turn, this energy helps you attract more of what it is that you want in life.

Gratitude literally speeds up the manifestation process. It sends a message out to the Universe that says, “I’m ready for miracles.”

2. Ask Empowering Questions

I believe that the Universe answers any question that we ask. The problem is that too many people ask disempowering questions that are based on limiting beliefs about themselves.

If we constantly self-sabotage and say things like, “Why me?”, guess what we are going to manifest? More victimhood behavior.

Instead, ask yourself open and empowering questions that come from a place of genuine curiosity and self-love. Our words can significantly affect our behavior.

One study showed that those who asked more empowering questions offered more solutions in their responses, placed more responsibility on themselves rather than on external factors, were more optimistic, and referred more to the future.

As someone once said, “Ask empowering questions to get empowering answers.”

Doing so will allow you to create new belief systems, where the possibilities of what you can achieve are never-ending. This is the best way to raise the quality of your beliefs.

3. Visualize Your Results

Visualization is one of the most powerful exercises that you can engage in if you want to manifest your dreams. A powerful manifestation tool is the creation of a vision board. When you start to visualize what it is that you want in your life, you begin to see the possibility of achieving it.

According to research using brain imagery, visualization works because neurons in our brains interpret imagery as equivalent to a real-life action. When we visualize an act, the brain generates an impulse that tells our neurons to “perform” the movement.

If you really want something, harness the power of your imagination and allow mental imagery to inspire and motivate you to take action to create your reality. The trick is to believe that you already have what it is that you desire.

4. Trust The Process

If you want to manifest anything in life, you need to trust the process. It's easy to overthink things and force the direction that we want our life to take. Be patient. Life is a journey.

If you are in a rush to reach your desired destination, it's going to be a painful experience getting there.

If you question why things aren't happening fast enough, it's your way of telling the Universe that you don't believe that it is working. Guess what happens? The Law of Attraction responds by sending you challenges that block your ability to move forward. What you resist, will persist.

The Universe always has your back, IF you allow it to. If you ever find that you are doubting the process, remind yourself that all is well and you are getting closer to achieving what it is that you desire.

Never underestimate the extraordinary power of beliefs.

The Law of Attraction is an amazing way to manifest your dream life.

In the words of Tony Robbins, “Humans have the awesome ability to take any experience of their lives and create a meaning that disempowers them or one that can literally save their lives.”

Never forget that you are so much more than your limiting beliefs. They are just stories that hold you back from success in life.

There is no greater power than belief. Believe in yourself and your innate ability to do anything in this world. If you can believe it, you are already halfway there.

Belief and faith are the cornerstones to achieving success in life.

It is imperative that you have an unshakeable belief and faith in yourself. Anybody can make the invisible, visible if they believe it is possible. However, a lot of people are stuck in a negative cycle of limiting beliefs. Trust me, I've been down this road.

I used to hold a lot of limiting beliefs about who I was as a person. From an early age, we can be negatively influenced by our parents, social media, or society to believe that we aren't good enough. As a result, we develop negative thought patterns that hold us back in life.

The good news is that we have the power to change our beliefs. I believe that belief and faith are two of the most overlooked superpowers. Without them, we can't take action to achieve our goals.

In the words of John Paul Warren, “Belief has the power to change your inner state and your outer world.” Are you ready to learn 8 strategies for harnessing the power of belief and faith?

Without belief and faith, many of the world's greatest inventions would never have existed.

Do you think any of the most successful people in this world, like Steve Jobs or Oprah Winfrey, lack belief in themselves? Absolutely not. As many of you know, I am addicted to personal growth and development. I study and learn from these people. What I have found is that they all possess an unwavering belief in their ability to succeed.

There is a famous saying that reads, “When you see it, you believe it.”

This is far from true. When you believe in yourself, then you will be able to visualize what it is that you want to create. Everything that you desire in life starts in your mind – a thought, an idea or a goal – that excites you so much so that you pursue it.

In his book, Psycho-Cybernetics, Maxwell Maltz reveals that negative habits can be changed. In his own words, “The ‘self-image' is the key to human personality and human behavior. Change the self-image and you change the personality and the behavior.”

Belief and faith are choices. When we take responsibility for our lives, we are accountable for the principles that we live by. With this line of thinking, if we have control of our beliefs, then that means we have the power to create our worlds. From this place, anything is possible.

I believe that faith is the ultimate belief.

Belief and faith are closely related but are not the same. A belief is something a person perceives is true, whereas faith is a matter of trust that inevitably leads to action. Faith is about trusting the process of life, and knowing that everything is unfolding exactly as it should.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't have faith that they can create a better tomorrow. As Tony Robbins once said, “Your past does not equal your future”, so it's time to stop living there!

Just because you failed in the past, whether that was in the form of a failed relationship or business venture, doesn't mean that the same bad things are going to happen again. I believe that life lessons are designed to make us grow and evolve. I don't let failures define who I am or dictate where I am going to go in my life.

Let's explore 8 strategies for how to develop unshakeable belief and faith in yourself.

1. Commit To A New Way Of Thinking

The past is over. You can't go back and change anything. However, you can empower yourself to commit to a new way of thinking, believing, and acting. If your belief and faith in yourself are limiting, acknowledge those feelings, thank them for showing up, and then do the work to move through them.

The power of choice is a beautiful thing. Today you can choose to move beyond anything and everything that no longer serves your highest self. How would your life change if you knew that you could do and be anything that your heart desired? Feel into that.

2. Uncover The Root Cause Of Your Limiting Beliefs

We all have limiting beliefs that hold us back from success. Are your beliefs limiting you? If so, you are not alone. I know how debilitating limiting beliefs can be. For years I struggled with a belief that I wasn't good enough.

There was a time in my life where I was broke, unhappy, extremely shy, and alone. In order to make a change in my life, I had to hit rock bottom. That is when I decided to recondition my mindset to focus on the good. When I made this shift, my belief and faith in my abilities skyrocketed.

How did I do this?

The best way to crush your limiting beliefs is by getting to the root cause. Look back to your childhood. What were you conditioned to believe about yourself and why? Once you start figuring out the answers to these questions, then you can begin the process of undermining your limiting beliefs with evidence that shows that they aren't true!

I hate to break it to you, but the only person in your way is you. Don't be a victim of your false beliefs. They don't have to control your life. It's your choice.

3. Be Kind To Yourself

We all know that our minds can be our friend or our foe. Developing the resilience that it takes in order to develop belief and faith in yourself takes time. Be kind to yourself. Change doesn't happen overnight.

Reconditioning old ways of thinking is a process. If you are looking for a short-term fix, you are going to be looking for a long time. When you have a good day, celebrate yourself!

Go to the spa, buy something nice, or treat yourself to a beautiful dinner. What gets rewarded, gets repeated. That includes empowering thoughts.

4. Drop Negative Self-Talk

Words are powerful. Be more aware of how you speak to yourself on a daily basis. Do you wake up in the morning and tell yourself that you capable of success, or does your monkey mind take over and point out all of the reasons why you aren't where you should be in life?

Coulds, woulds, and shoulds are the killers of dreams. Negative thinking fosters negative emotions, like anxiety and worry. In this place, it's easy to lose belief and faith in ourselves. Discipline yourself to think positively, even if it doesn't feel natural at first.

5. Create A Morning Ritual

Many of you who follow me know what a big believer I am in the power of rituals. I’ve been doing them since I was 17 years old.

I can confidently say that a morning ritual changed my life. I used to struggle with shyness, social anxiety, and depression. By engaging in positive habits every day, I was able to create a belief and faith in my abilities that I could have never received from a book, a course, or a seminar.

Did I see results overnight? Absolutely not. It takes time to get rid of bad habits.

If you want to build habits that last a lifetime, you need to practice them consistently. In the words of Tony Robbins, “The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”

Positive affirmations are a great way to kickstart your confidence for the day ahead. I encourage you to integrate them into your morning routine and watch your beliefs shift. They are a great way to reprogram your mindset for positivity.

If you don't wake up every day feeling happy, energized, and confident, it's time to make a change. A morning ritual is an answer.

6. Embrace Failure

If you want to have belief and faith in yourself, you need to embrace failure, knowing that it is OK to fall. When we fail, it's easy to fall into a trap of thinking that we aren't worthy of achieving success. Wrong. Don't ever allow failure to hold you back from accomplishing your goals.

Failure is a normal part of life. I've failed thousands of times in my business. However, that doesn't mean that failure feels good. It can bring up a lot of limiting beliefs in people. When challenges arise, you need to shift your mindset and have belief and faith that you can keep going.

What matters more is that you learn from your mistakes. Find opportunities amidst failure, so that you come back more knowledgeable and stronger than ever before.

An MRI study by the University of Southern California found that having the opportunity to learn from failure can turn it into a positive experience IF the brain has a chance to learn from its mistakes.

The only thing that differentiates a successful person from one who fails is grit, otherwise known as a perseverance and passion for achieving one's goals.

7. Create An Action Plan

Belief and faith in yourself is an achievable goal only if you set up an action plan. Tailor your plan to fit your values and needs. It's all about learning how to fall in love with the process of becoming.

Building belief and faith in yourself is a never-ending journey that you need to develop and work on. Learn how to enjoy the ride.

When you are able to design a plan that supports your new beliefs, success is yours for the taking! If you need some help making sense of how you can put your plan into action, seek out the guidance of a coach or mentor.

8. Ignore The Noise From Others

Sometimes it can be hard to believe in ourselves when we don't have support from others. You need to have an unwavering belief and faith in your journey, no matter what anyone else says to you.

Don’t allow anyone to ever have that much power and control over your life. At the end of the day, it's your life. We all have different journeys in life. All that matters is that you stay committed to your vision.

Having belief and faith in yourself is the first step to creating positive, lasting change in your life.

When you have belief and faith that you can achieve anything in this world, you become unstoppable. If you change your belief about what you are capable of, limits will no longer exist. Whether you think you can or can't, you're right.

I hope I have inspired you to tap into your potential as a human being. Don't ever let your fears and insecurities define who you are. If your mind slips back into limitations, don't beat yourself up. Just get back up, keep building up your belief and faith, and find your calling in life.

As Aaron Sorkin says, “Act as if ye have faith, and faith shall be given to you. To put it another way, fake it till you make it.” What would you do if you weren't afraid? When you harness the power of belief and faith, fear is no longer a part of your vocabulary.

I’m going to share with you 5 things mentally strong people won’t do

It may surprise you, but intelligence only accounts for a small percentage of your achievement. Research is starting to reveal that mental toughness, or “grit”, plays a more important role than anything else for achieving your goals in life.

Mentally strong people are committed to engaging in habits of success, and they are effectively able to manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

If you catch yourself engaging in these 5 things mentally strong people won’t do, don’t beat yourself up. I have solutions for how you can recognize and replace these unhealthy habits, so that you can become mentally strong.

In the words of John Schiefer, “Mental toughness can take you to the top, and mental weakness straight to the bottom.” Which path will you take?

Mental strength is the foundation for success. Everyone has the ability to build it. Just like a muscle, you need to strengthen it.

Commit to learning how to identify the common pitfalls that you are prone to falling into, so that you can master your mind and become the best version of yourself.

Here are 5 things mentally strong people won’t do.

1. They will not indulge in past failures or mistakes.

Failure is a normal part of life. Whatever goal you are trying to achieve, you will make mistakes and you will fail.

A mentally strong person is able to learn from their mistakes and use them as fuel to propel them forward. They don’t view setbacks as failures, but rather, as opportunities to learn and become more.

Alternatively, a weak person is unable to bounce back from failure. They usually associate a lot of pain to their setbacks and tend to make a big deal out of things that are out of their control.

They are afraid to take a leap of faith and try something new, for fear that they will fail. As a result, they remain in their comfort zone.

If you failed in the past, it’s time to let it go. The past is history.

Your failures will not determine your future unless you allow them to. In the words of Tony Robbins, “The past does not equal the future.”

Shift your mindset and look for the positive in every experience. Don’t dwell on your problems in life. Focus on what you have control over and move on!

2. They will not feel sorry for themselves.

Mentally strong people take ownership and responsibility for their choices in life, whereas weak people create stories and play the role of victim. They blame others’ and external circumstances for their shortcomings in life.

As a result, these people end up holding onto their problems and carry this baggage with them into the future.

Alternatively, mentally strong people recognize that the sooner that you take responsibility for your life, the happier and healthier you become.

Research shows that positive emotions may actually make us healthier.

According to Dr. Laura Kubzansky, a professor of human health and development at Harvard School of Public Health, individuals with great emotional vitality have a much lower risk of developing heart disease, compared to the less emotionally expressive.

Don't be a victim of your circumstances. Pick yourself up, dispel negative emotions, and take responsibility for your life.

As Viktor Frankl famously said, “When we can't change the outcome, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

3. They don't surround themselves with negative people.

Negative people can suck the life out of you, draining your emotional and mental energy. This is why mentally strong people are conscious of who they surround themselves with.

The fact of the matter is, who you spend time with is who you become. Are your friends elevating you or bringing you down? If it’s the latter, it’s time to find new friends.

Weak people allow toxic energy to come into their lives because they are unable to develop healthy boundaries. Study after study shows that negativity has a drastic impact on your physical, mental, and financial well-being.

Alternatively, mentally strong people do not tolerate second class behaviour or negativity. They know when to put the line in the sand, and have the ability to say no when someone is not serving their highest self.

4. Mentally strong people don’t judge themselves or others.

Mentally strong people don't get caught up in drama. They refuse to indulge in the act of speaking less about themselves or others. They look for the good in everything and everybody.

Norman Vincent Peale said it best – “When you expect the best, you release a magnetic force in your mind which by a law of attraction tends to bring the best to you.”

If you are wondering why your life might be challenging right now, look at where you are focusing your thoughts. If you focus on the bad and constantly complain, you WILL attract more of that into your life.

Research from Stanford University has shown that complaining shrinks the hippocampus, an area of the brain that’s critical to problem solving and intelligent thought.

Be conscious of the words that you speak. They have the power to shape your reality.

5. Mentally strong people aren’t lazy.

Mentally strong people are disciplined and committed to everything that they do. They aren’t focused on instant gratification and pleasures. Rather, they are always looking forward and thinking long-term.

Alternatively, weak people struggle with discipline of any kind, because they haven't been able to master their mindset and emotions. They live in their comfort zones and, as a result, fail to grow.

Everything you desire in life is outside of your comfort zone. Studies show that stepping out of your comfort zone leads to greatly increased productivity, creativity, and the ability to cope with unexpected changes.

When there is a challenge or crisis in their lives, mentally strong people rise up and take action.

Being productive and disciplined is a habit, which is why I'm a big fan of morning ritualsWhen you start off the day doing things that are proactive it sets you up for success, which translates into every area of your life.

These are 5 things mentally strong people won’t do. Don’t be a dabbler. Condition your mind every day, develop healthy habits, and commit to mastery.

Are you a slave to your emotions? When something doesn't go your way, how do you react? Do you calmly step back and assess the situation, or do you start ruminating and let your emotions get the best of you?

When you allow your emotions to dictate every decision that you make, it can have a negative effect on every area of your life.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to be an emotional person. Rather, it is how you regulate your emotions and navigate your way through challenges, that determines your success in life.

Are you a slave to your emotions? If so, I want to show you how to shift that mindset, so that you feel in control of your life. In the words of Oscar Wilde, “I don’t want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them.”

In her new book, How Emotions Are Made: The Secret Life of the Brain, psychologist Lisa Feldman Barrett suggests that emotions do not happen to us without our willingness.

Rather, we construct our emotions by making meaning of our life experiences. We choose how you feel. That is something that we have 100% control over, whether you believe it or not. It all starts with your mindset.

Our thoughts create our emotions. Oftentimes, neither our thoughts nor our emotions are an accurate representation of what is really going on. Why? Because we all interpret the world through a different emotional lens.

If you are a slave to your emotions, commit to taking the steps needed in order to ensure that your emotions do not get the best of you. Easier said than done, right? Here are 3 ways to help you not be a slave to your emotions.

1. Take A Deep Breath

When our emotions are running high, short and shallow breathing can take over. If this happens, the best way to master your emotional state is to take a step back and take a deep breath.

I know this sounds simple, but it works.

Research proves that slowing your breath calms the mind. Patricia Gerbarg, a clinical professor in psychiatry at New York Medical School and author of a 2009 study on Pranayama, suggests that “By changing patterns of breathing, we can change our emotional states, and how we think and how we interact with the world.”

By learning how to harness the power of your breath, you are better able to balance your emotions. Are you a slave to your emotions? If so, positive habits like these are great ways to change your emotional state.

2. Take Responsibility

You are the only one that is responsible for your emotional well-being. Take responsibility for your life. You cannot control what other people think, do, or say.

The only thing that you have control over is how you respond to the external world. If you don't like how you feel, own it. When you take ownership for your life, you create the momentum that is required in order to change it.

Research shows that taking personal responsibility for your happiness involves, ultimately, adopting a “surrender mindset”, which refers to the willingness to fully accept the outcomes that you are dealt with in life.

Unlike others, who may ruminate when things don't work out the way they planned, the person with a surrender mindset is able to move on emotionally untouched.

Don't play the blame game. Step up and become the become the master of your mind.

3. Take Note Of Your Thoughts & Beliefs

Our beliefs determine what we end up attracting into our lives. If you dwell on the negative, that is what you will attract. Keep in mind that it isn't our thoughts that become things. Rather, it is our emotions that are triggered by unconscious beliefs.

The next time that you are feeling reactive and emotional, take a step back, be an observer of your own mind, and notice what it is that you are thinking about.

The belief systems that we have about ourselves and the world were created by US. If we can create them, then we can just as easily shift them, in ways that better serve our lives.

Will you be able to shift your belief system overnight? No. It takes time to re-write our stories, but when you do, emotional mastery is yours for the taking.

In the words of the late John Milton, “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.” Choose wisely. When you master your emotions, you master your life.

Is life worth living? Is that an empowering belief system? If you were able to sit back and question this belief, you would find that you come up with a very different perspective on life.

A belief is a feeling of confidence that something is true. The reason why a belief is so important is because it determines the meaning that you give to the circumstances and events of your life.

An examination of deciding, is life worth living, needs to start with an honest process of inward self-reflection. There is so much value that life provides, if you are willing to look for it.

When was the last time that you took some time to think about what it is that makes life so meaningful? You control the meaning of your life. At any point in time, you can re-write your story.

Is life worth living? Yes! and there are so many reasons why it is.

Your beliefs determine your behaviours in life, which is why it’s so important that you adopt an empowering mindset.

If you continue to ask the question, is life worth living, you need to step back and examine what is creating this limiting belief system.

Whatever has held you back in the past from living the life that you desire, you have the power to overcome your fears and change your life. Learn from people that have already overcome the very things that hold you back from stepping into your power.

When I was younger, I was lost and confused. I didn’t know who I was and where my life was going. This is a normal process of growing up and finding your way. It isn't until you go through a process of self-discovery that you realize what your passions are. That is when the question, “Is life worth living?” becomes clear, which is why it's important to possess a passionate curiosity for learning.

Each day is an adventure in and of itself. You have no idea who you are going to meet, what you are going to learn, or who you are going to impact. Not only that, but every day is a new opportunity to grow and develop yourself.

If you are doubting or questioning your place in life, then it’s time to change your perspective and decide, is life worth living.

“In many shamanic societies, if you came to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, depressed, they would ask one of four questions: When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence?”

Gabrielle Rothou

If you have stopped embracing everything that life has to offer, then you will start to change your mood. That’s when the question arises: is life worth living?

It’s time for you to take charge of what you are passionate about in life and what you love. And, you also need to change the belief system and question of whether life is worth it.

If there is something that you are unhappy with in your life, then you can change it. However, it takes looking at life as an adventure, to find a space for self-improvement and to begin learning about everything that the planet has to offer.

Once you begin to look at this perspective, it will change your outlook on life.

Personal growth and development is one of the best ways to discover your mission life. Step back and ask yourself, “What makes me come alive inside?” It’s not our possessions that make us happy, but rather the people who uplift us, and the empowering experiences that inspire us to become the best versions of ourselves.

No matter what job you have, how much money you have in your bank account, or where you came from in life, I believe that there is nothing more important than living a life of service. When you begin to do this, it changes the perspective of when you ask, is life worth living. I have dedicated my career to serving and being of value to others.

The Dalai Lama said it best, “We are visitors on this planet. We are here for one hundred years at the very most. During that period we must try to do something good, something useful, with our lives. if you contribute to other people's happiness, you will find the true meaning of life.”

Having a vision is what makes life more exciting and worthwhile, which is why I created a book called, My Life Plan. It represents my passions, purpose, and the ultimate vision for my life.

In that book, I break down my life into 7 core areas, a model that I originally learned from Tony Robbins.

In his book, Your Life On Purpose: How to Find What Matters and Create the Life You Want, Matthew McKay points out that he has noticed a recurring problem: Everyone wants to live rich and meaningful lives, but we get mired in setting goals and directions that are disconnected from our core values.

How often do you see someone who has wealth, but they seem depressed or confused about their direction?

They have experienced fame and have risen to the top, but then have other problems that cause them to lose out on the experience.

There is one, core issue which is related to these issues continuing to arise. Not having a life purpose and not creating meaning for yourself leads to a negative outcome.

Unless you begin to understand the core of who you are and what your purpose is on life, you will continue to ask the question, is life worth living?

Diving deeply into who you are and what you want to do in this life is not an overnight epiphany. It takes work and committment to yourself to break through what is holding you back from living how you really desire and from being fulfilled.

It may mean changing certain habits in your life that are not fulfilling or which cause you to lose a sense of purpose in your life.

It means digging into the deeper parts of your true self to find out how to authentically live and to determine who you are.

When you begin to look at your passion and purpose, you have to break through the areas of your life which don’t serve you and let them go. In this way, you can find what does work and what you should embrace as a part of your true self.

If after reading this blog, you are still wondering, “Is life worth living?”, I challenge you to question that belief system, go inward, discover what it is that makes you come alive inside, and then go do those things.

You and only you have the power to create the life that you want. Don’t let life happen to you. Instead, be a conscious creator. No one finds life worth living; he must make it worth living.

Is life worth living? Yes. This is your life. Make it a beautiful one!

I would like to share with you how to motivate yourself for success in life. Everything that we do in life requires motivation. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to achieve anything.

According to the research of Dr. Anders Ericsson, motivation is the most significant predictor of success. Motivated people are determined to do whatever is necessary in order to achieve their goals. They possess a growth mindset, and their desire to succeed trumps any challenge that stands in their way.

It’s the small decisions that you make every day that matter most in life. From the moment that you wake up, make sure that you are engaging in actions that are aligned with your higher self. In the words of Jim Rohn, “Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day.”

Are you ready to take your motivation to the next level and become all that you aspire to be?

People that are intrinsically motivated are pulled, rather than pushed towards new experiences that challenge them to learn and grow. They are driven by what makes them feel alive inside, regardless if there is a reward for doing so or not.

Alternatively, extrinsically motivated people are driven by external rewards, like money or praise. According to Daniel Pink’s research, extrinsic rewards, particularly “if-then” or “contingent” rewards (“if you do this, then you’ll get that”) do away with all self-motivation and creativity, regardless of task or age.

No matter how you look at it, internal motivation is a more sustainable strategy for long-term success in life.

We all strive for more motivation, but unfortunately many people fall short. They get stuck in a trap of focusing on their limitations, fears, and excuses of why they can’t do something. As a result, they make little progress towards their goals.

Your beliefs can either strengthen or weaken your motivation. It all comes down to your mindset. Those that possess a fixed mindset believe that if they fail to achieve their goals, it means that they aren’t good enough.

On the flip side, those who possess a growth mindset views failure as a natural, healthy component of personal growth and development. When you focus on what is good, you will attract good things into your life. When you master your mind, anything in possible. That is how to motivate yourself for success in life.

Motivation is your ‘why’; it is the driving force that determines the direction that your life will take. Everyone needs to have a purpose behind what they are doing.

If you have a strong enough ‘why', the how will take care of itself, and success will be yours for the taking. In essence, motivation is found when purpose manifests itself.

Take small steps every day towards the progress and achievement of your goals, and don’t forget to believe in yourself. Are you ready to motivate yourself for success in life? The world is waiting for you.

The Power Of Beliefs https://projectlifemastery.com/power-of-beliefs/ https://projectlifemastery.com/power-of-beliefs/#respond Wed, 05 Jul 2017 14:28:01 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6471 The power of beliefs is far reaching. The post The Power Of Beliefs appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

]]>
I would like to talk to you about the power of beliefs. Beliefs are things that we choose to accept as facts. They are based off of our perceptions of life. Your beliefs about who you are shapes your entire life.

Dr. Joseph Murphy, author of the book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, best reflects the power of beliefs when he said, “The law of your mind is this: You will get a reaction or response from your subconscious mind according to the nature of the thought or idea you hold in your conscious mind.”

Unfortunately limiting beliefs hinder many people’s potential in life. If you don’t believe that you can do something, then you won’t. Not until you commit to shifting your limiting beliefs will you then be able to create the reality that you desire. What you believe to be true becomes true for you.

In the words of Michael Sky, “The real challenge in life is to choose, hold, and operate through intelligent, uplifting, and fully empowering beliefs.” Step back and examine your beliefs. Are they helping you or hindering you?

Do you want to learn how to create empowering beliefs that will lead you to success in life? CLICK HERE to join my Life Mastery Accelerator program!

The power of beliefs is reflected in the fact that YOU have the ability to take any experience in your life and create a meaning that either empowers or disempowers you. Mastering your life requires that you upgrade your thoughts, meaning that you focus on the positive.

Why is this so important? Simple. Your thoughts lead to behaviours, your behaviours lead to habits, and habits are what change your life for the better. Positive thoughts transform into positive beliefs, which can then help turn your dreams into a reality.

There was a time in my life when I struggled with limiting beliefs. It wasn’t until I made the choice to condition my mind to focus on the positive, that I was able to change every area of my life. People who lead fulfilled and successful lives are those that purposefully choose beliefs that support and empower them.

If your beliefs are not allowing you to create the life that you want, it is time to make a shift and adopt a more positive belief system. The power of choice is a gift that many of us take for granted. Only you have the power to choose how you feel. If you aren’t happy with your life, change it.

The power of beliefs is far reaching. You take control of your life when you choose empowering beliefs that support the vision and purpose for your life. Douglas Noel Adams said it best, “If you don't change your belief, your life will be like this forever. Is that goods news?” If not, it's time to make a change.
