Did you know that a solid relationship can help you make your first million?

There is a big misconception that being in a relationship holds you back from achieving success in life. I don't agree. When two people have a strong foundation that is built on trust, love, and respect, it can only help them grow stronger.

In his book, What Makes Love Last: How to Build Trust and Avoid Betrayal, John Gottman says that “Forty years of research shows that trust and commitment are crucial to holding relationships together.”

When you have a supportive partner in your corner, success comes easier. There is no greater gift than having someone whom you can celebrate life with.

Early on in my journey, I achieved a lot of success. I bought a sports car and moved into a penthouse. I was making more money than I could have ever possibly imagined. However, I wasn’t fulfilled because I didn’t have anyone to share my success with.

Since my girlfriend Tatiana has been in my life, she has given me more confidence in who I am. She supports everything that I do – my mission, vision, and goals. We also have a shared vision. Because of these reasons and more, we have achieved relationship alignment.

Tatiana and I make communication a top priority in our relationship. We know what each other's top needs are. Whenever I'm not feeling nourished, she steps up to the plate and provides them for me. I do the same for her.

It comes down to not assuming that what you need is what your partner needs. We all have a different love language. It’s important that you know what that looks like, both for you and your partner.

Always do your best to ensure that you are in a great emotional state with your partner.

In times of stress, anger, or fear, if both partners are in a negative state, things only get worse. This is why it's so important to have a strong relationship with yourself.

We can only connect with our partner as intimately as we are able to connect with ourselves. If you aren't happy with who you are, that will affect the relationship that you have with your partner.

If you want to have a healthy relationship, you and your partner need to give one another unconditional love. This involves caring about the happiness of your partner without any thought for what you may receive in return. When you engage in this behavior, your needs will be met simultaneously.

Always ask yourself, “Am I truly acting with the most love I can for my partner at this moment?”

This is how a solid relationship can help you make your first million.

Never forget that the relationship that you have with yourself sets the tone for every relationship you will have in life. Make it a priority to grow and improve yourself every day.

This is how you attract an amazing person into your life. Similarly, it's also how you continue to grow in the same direction as your partner. How do you create a loving connection in your relationship?

How would your life change if you knew how to get rid of anxiety naturally?

Anxiety is a debilitating condition that can affect every area of one's life. If you struggle with it, you know how difficult it can be to live with. When it strikes, everything feels like it is out of your control and you are unable to think clearly. As a result, you feel helpless.

If you think that you are fighting this battle alone, you are not. Globally, anxiety facts show that 260 million people suffer from anxiety disorders.

The tricky thing about anxiety is that a lot of people don't even know what they are anxious about. This can make it difficult to seek out support from others. Moreover, there is a heavy stigma that exists about anxiety. This causes a lot of people to feel shame and embarrassment.

You don't need to live with anxiety anymore. There is a cure, and it is staring back at you in the mirror. Close your eyes and imagine waking up in the morning, anxiety-free. Anything is possible. It all starts and ends with you.

In the video below I talk about how I overcame shyness and social anxiety.

Are you ready to learn how to get rid of anxiety naturally?

It starts with making a commitment to yourself that you are ready to heal your life. I hate to break it to you, but there is no magic pill that will get rid of anxiety overnight. It will require that you make some major changes to your lifestyle.

You are already on the right track, just by reading this blog post.

In the medical system, medication is the golden rule for how to relieve stress and anxiety. However, this is only a band-aid solution. Instead of prescribing pills, we need to address the root of anxiety.

By doing so, we empower people to learn how to get rid of anxiety naturally and take back control of their lives.

Anxiety isn't something that you want to manage. Rather, it's something that you want to remove from your life forever. Throughout my 20's, I struggled with shyness and social anxiety, to the point where I was unable to talk to people. On top of that, I also had depression.

As a result, I was bullied and picked on by my peers. This went on for many years. Anxiety became a part of my identity. I thought it was who I was. That turned out to be BS.

A lot of people put too much effort into ignoring or avoiding their anxiety. Unfortunately, that's not how you rid yourself of it.

Researchers have found that people perform better when they acknowledge their anxiety. Labeling their emotions and accepting that feeling anxious can be part of the process, helps them devote their time and energy to their goals.

The best way to eliminate anxiety is to explore ways that you can address your symptoms.

Yes, your anxiety still may pop up from time to time, but knowledge is power. When you know how to catch it before it starts, you empower yourself. It's all about being one step ahead of the anxiety game.

Here are 7 ways for how to get rid of anxiety naturally.

1. Exercise Regularly

How you use your body determines how you feel at any given moment of time. Think about what happens to your physiology after you go for a run or do a sweaty yoga class.

I'm assuming you feel great! Your mind is clear and you feel unstoppable.

A regular exercise routine can be a natural form of medication. According to some studies, regular exercise works as well as medication for some people to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. More importantly, the effects can be long-lasting.

2. Eat A Well-Balanced Diet

There is a connection between what you put into your body and how you feel. Have you ever heard of the adage, “You are what you eat?”

Be mindful of what you are putting into your body because it may be negatively affecting your physiology.

Some great foods to reduce anxiety include leafy greens, healthy fats, like avocado or coconut oil, seeds, legumes and organic meats. More importantly, do your best to avoid all sugary foods, caffeine, and alcohol. This is one of the most holistic ways to get rid of anxiety naturally.

It may sound like a death sentence, but if it means you don't have to experience anxiety anymore, isn't it worth it? On top of that, you will live a healthy and well-balanced life. It's a win-win.

3. Face Your Fear

I overcame my anxiety naturally by facing it, head on. It wasn't easy, but I quickly learned that the only way out of the dark place that I was in, was through it.

The idea is to work slowly at facing the thing which you fear the most until you reach your final goal.

When we are forced to step outside of our comfort zone and live uncomfortably, we stretch ourselves. Your success in overcoming anxiety, depends in part, on your willingness to purposefully experience it.

I encourage you to not shy away from anxiety. Instead, learn how to make friends with it.

4. Practice Mindfulness

Learning how to be calm is an inside job. How would it feel to start your day feeling calm and grounded? You have the power to control how you feel.

Meditation is a powerful medium that can help you achieve this state of being on a daily basis.

Meditation connects us with our anxiety, and that is why it is such an important practice. I'm not a meditation guru by any means, but it has been something that has transformed my emotional, mental, and spiritual state over time.

We don't always have control over how a situation plays out, but we can mindfully change our response to that situation.

You have the power to choose a more constructive way of coping with stress, rather than a way that leaves you feeling depleted, anxious, and overwhelmed.

5. Seek Out Help

Oftentimes people who have anxiety suffer in silence, for fear that they will be judged as “mentally ill” or “damaged.” This is far from true. Reaching out for support from a friend, loved one, or a therapist is one of the best ways to cope with anxiety and other life stressors.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy is an extremely effective treatment for anxiety. This is an approach that works with changing the way that you think, feel and behave, through the modification of old thinking patterns and habits.

At the end of the day, you need to find something that works best for you.

6. Engage In Positive Self-Talk

Oftentimes we are not even aware of our self-talk because it is unconscious. If you struggle with anxiety, you need to be mindful of the dialogue that is going on in your head. Why?

Because negative self-talk can aggravate anxiety, sending you down a rabbit hole of ruminative thoughts and reactive behavior. Our inner critic feeds off of our worries.

When you engage in positive self-talk, over time you can consciously shift your state of mind so that you feel more in control of your thoughts and emotions.

Instead of saying, “I am helpless”  focus on more empowering thoughts like, “I am in control of how I feel.” In this place, there is no room for anxiety to run free.

7. Master Your Emotions

If you are someone that experiences anxiety on a regular basis you know how easily your emotions can spiral out of control – your heart begins to race and your thoughts go in circles.

Oftentimes, the source of one's anxiety isn't so much the experience that is making them anxious. Rather, it's the emotions that are connected to the experience.

From personal experience, when I tried to fight against my anxiety, that is when I felt more of it.

According to psychologist Erin Olivo, “If you want to stop stressing, you need to be in charge of your emotions, rather than your emotions being in charge of you.”

The next time that anxiety strikes, be proactive. Stay calm, pay close attention to what is happening in your body, and acknowledge your emotions. We may not have control over the physical symptoms, but we can control how we react to them.

In doing so, we have the power to shift our mindset and stop anxiety dead in its tracks.

When you master your emotions, you master your life.

My anxiety did not define who I was, and it does not define who you are either. In the words of Seth Godin, “Anxiety is nothing but repeatedly re-experiencing failure in advance. What a waste.”

If you commit to practicing these lifestyle changes, you will see a massive shift take place in your life.

Now that you know how to get rid of anxiety naturally, what strategy will you commit to starting today?

You can read all the anxiety advice out there, but none of it means anything unless you take action. Visualize what your life would be like if you didn't have anxiety anymore and hold onto that feeling.

Change begins with a single step. Are you ready to master your anxiety and take back control of your life?

Do you want to learn about the 5 areas of life where persistence pays off? If you want to master all areas of your life, you need to understand the value of persistence. However, it's not enough to know something. Life mastery requires that you actually live it, every day.

If you want to achieve anything in life it will require that you possess a killer combination of sheer willpower, determination, and desire.

When it comes to personal development and dating, I understand how important it is for men to develop the communication and confidence skills that are necessary in order to attract a partner into their lives.

When I was 21 years old I started a dating coaching business, that was designed to help men overcome the confidence challenges that I had faced in my own life.

That is why I wanted to invite Eddy Baller, a men's personal development and dating coach, to write a guest post to talk about 5 areas of life where persistence pays off.

Take it away Eddy!

I want to share with you 5 areas of life where persistence pays off. How many of us have embarked on a new journey to accomplish something big, only to become disillusioned and quit when it didn’t work out?

The human mind is notoriously bad at making time predictions for complicated goals. Even showing up on time seems to be a challenge for some people. “I have time, I’ll just finish a few emails…”

The biggest challenges in life usually require a lot of time, and it’s hard to predict how much time. The key ingredient which separates the cream of the crop is persistence – the raw determination and grit that comes from sticking to your goals.

Here are 5 areas of life where persistence pays off:

1. Dating

Anyone who’s ever gone on dates can attest to the fact that dating isn’t always easy. If you’re interested in finding the love of your life, it means going through a lot of ‘candidates’. Shyness and social anxiety can become a serious handicap for someone when it comes to dating.

Being successful in the dating world requires a number of skills, some of which include, learning how to approach women or men, conversational skills, body language, confidence, assertiveness, boundary setting, and more.

If you want to find a partner that is right for you, it will require persistence, in addition to mastering the above skills.

Action step: Get a dating coach or connect with someone who seems to have their dating life together. Learn how they’ve created an abundant love life and emulate their best practices.

2. Relationships

Dating skills are just the first part of our romantic journeys. Once we’ve found a long-term partner, we need a new tool box to keep the romance alive.

A lot of dating skills still apply; confidence, body language, boundaries to name a few, but now we have to learn how to share our space, grow together, and keep it exciting in the bedroom.

It also requires paying attention to our partner's communication style and learning their habits, so that we can avoid unnecessary clashes. This shows that we really understand them.

Action step: Dedicate at least one night per week as a ‘date night’. It’s too easy to get caught up in the business of life and family. Put aside time for a quality get together so that your bond continues to grow.

3. Business

Building a business is tough. There are a myriad of setbacks that are designed to test your ability to persist, which include lack of know how, lack of resources, not having the right people when you need them, bootstrapping, and more.

For those who stay in the fight, the turning point shows up as a change in focus, experience, and a new direction, which may not have been clear in the beginning stages.

Action step: Invest in business and marketing training. Too many people try winging it and end up quitting when it doesn’t work.

4. Mindset

At the age of 20, I was an extremely negative person and all of my friends were negative too. Every day I played the same record in my head. It was always, “people suck”, “rich people suck”, “everything is expensive”, “the weather is no good”, and on and on.

I became tired of my own attitude and wanted to change. I knew that if I kept hanging out with the same people I wouldn't be able to grow. So I decided to start from scratch and distance myself from my old friends.

I set out to learn better social skills to make friends, meet women, and change my mindset. It took years to make serious progress, but the alternative was unthinkable.

Action step: To create a more positive mindset, work on reframing negative thoughts on a daily basis. Just look for the positive angle to the thought you were in the middle of. Do this daily and soon you will start thinking in a different way.

5. Emotions (EQ)

Emotional intelligence, or EQ, has a huge effect on our social success. It allows us to read other people's feelings, understand ourselves, and communicate effectively. People that have a low EQ have weak connections with others.

On the other hand, people with a strong EQ have healthier friendships, romances, and business relationships. When you learn how to master your emotions, you master your life.

Action step: Start by learning more about your own habits and emotions. How do you react to different situations? What happens to your body language when you’re feeling positive or negative emotions?

These are 5 areas of life where persistence pays off! What is one area of your life where persistence has paid off for you? Comment below and let me know!

I would like to share with you how to detox mercury from the body. This information is based on my personal experience with mercury toxicity.

After months of research, reading books, and meeting with my naturopath, I am still going through the process of detoxing mercury from my body. All the knowledge that I have learned from these different sources has really empowered me to be proactive with my health.

Oftentimes, people don’t do anything about their health until it’s too late. Your health is your wealth. Be proactive, take action, and invest in it. Without health, you have nothing.

In the words of Josh Billings, “Health is like money. We never have a true idea of its value until we lose it.” Are you ready to take control of your health and learn how to detox mercury from the body?

If you have experienced mercury or lead toxicity, I want to share with you what I have learned thus far that has helped me in my detoxification journey.

A lot of people have mercury or lead toxicity in their bodies, but they have no idea. This blog post is also for you, as it will create awareness about this health issue.

I’m not a doctor. This is purely based on my own experience.

By all means, please do your own research and due diligence in order to get the best help that you need in order to get yourself back to optimal health and wellbeing.

One year ago, Tony Robbins, who many of you know is a big mentor of mine, publically shared that he was diagnosed with mercury toxicity. His story inspired me to get tested as well.

A few months ago I did an EDTA/DMPS chelating agent test. This process involved putting an IV into my vein, and the chelating agent went into my bloodstream, pulling out minerals and toxic metals that I had in my tissues.

I then collected my urine for 12-24 hours and sent it a lab for analysis, which then determined the levels of metals that were in my body.

I shared my heavy metal toxicity results online, because I wanted to spread awareness of the harmful effects of mercury toxicity. I was shocked by what I found. Immediately, I took action.

The question is, “How did I get heavy metal toxicity?” There are multiple reasons why this can happen. Sometimes you can get this because of genetics, fish, lead-based paints or construction sites, or from the mercury that is found in cavity fillings, otherwise known as, amalgam.

If you decide to remove your mercury amalgam fillings, it is so important that you follow a safe protocol. Do your research and find a dentist that is trained in this procedure. I recommend that you read Andy Cutler’s book, Amalgam Illness, Diagnosis and Treatment : What You Can Do to Get Better, How Your Doctor Can Help, in order to learn more about the effects of amalgam on the body.

My naturopath recommended that I do more IV chelation therapy, but I wanted to do more research, because I read that there can be negative side effects with this form of therapy.

I found a website called, DMPS Backfire, where people share information regarding DMPS, and the adverse effects that the drug has on the physiology of the body. The information was shocking, but informative, especially for those who have been advised by their doctors to do IV chelation therapy.

After some more research, I came across a man named, Andy Cutler, who teaches a safe protocol of how to detox mercury from the body. Andy Cutler created a Facebook group, comprised of a community support group of people who are detoxing from mercury or lead toxicity, which I found to be super helpful.

Based on what I learned from Andy Cutler's protocol, I want to share with you the safest and most natural way of how to detox mercury from the body.

Below is a description of the detox process that I am currently going through. This is how to detox mercury from the body:

I take ALA, in conjunction with DMSA or DNPS, in an oral form. The ALA acts by pulling the metals out of your tissue. I recommend starting at a low dose in order to see how your body reacts. This will determine how your body is detoxing.

This process can take anywhere between 3 days to 3 weeks. Start with 12.5 milligrams of Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), which is a small amount. Most capsules of ALA are 100-milligrams, so you will need to divide the dose.

Do this every 3 hours, including while you sleep. You need to follow this protocol religiously and exactly as outlined in the protocol.

However long it takes for you to finish one round of capsules, take that same amount of time, off. Then, do another round, at a higher dose, and keep upping it. Keep in mind that the goal is not to be aggressive with this detox process. Doing so can be dangerous.

I recommend sweating while you are detoxing, as this is a great way to release the toxins from your body. A solid sauna or steam is a great idea.

If you want to learn more about how to diagnose mercury toxicity and safely remove toxic metals from your body, I highly recommend that you read David Hammond's book, Mercury Poisoning: The Undiagnosed Epidemic: Source of Mercury and How To Detox.

It can take 1-2 years to detox mercury out of your body, and 4+ years if you have severe levels of it in your body. It’s a long-term journey, but what other option do you have? It’s a sacrifice, but if it means that you will be happier and healthier in the future, it’s worth it.

Taking care of my health is my top priority. I hope this information on how to detox mercury from the body empowers you to be proactive with your health, and take the necessary steps in order to rid your body of these harmful toxic metals.

Take it from Loretta Lanphier – “If you are not making choices towards wellness, you are choosing illness. Use your power of choice wisely.”

3 Ways To Hold Yourself Accountable To Your Goals https://projectlifemastery.com/accountable-to-your-goals/ https://projectlifemastery.com/accountable-to-your-goals/#respond Wed, 26 Jul 2017 00:28:07 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6543 Accountability is an inside job. Do you want to know 3 ways to hold yourself accountable to your goals? Click here to learn more!

The post 3 Ways To Hold Yourself Accountable To Your Goals appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

]]>
I would like to share 3 ways to hold yourself accountable to your goals. From time to time, all of us have struggled to stay consistent with the goals that we set for ourselves.

It's one thing to set goals, but actually accomplishing them takes commitment, energy, discipline, and hard work. When we don't see results fast enough, it is easy to lose our motivation and fall into a negative thinking trap.

All of us have personal goals that we want to master, but many people become easily distracted by shiny objects or new ideas. The result is that they end up jumping from opportunity to opportunity, without accomplishing anything.

Accountability is an inside job. If you want to create positive change in your life, you need to take responsibility for the decisions that you make. In the words of Stephen Covey, “Accountability breeds response-ability.”

Are you ready to learn 3 ways to hold yourself accountable to your goals?

Do you want to have the support of a mentor who will hold you accountable to your goals every month? CLICK HERE to join my Life Mastery Accelerator program!

1. Find An Accountability Partner

When you are accountable to others, you are more likely to follow-through on your goals. Conversely, when you don't have someone in your corner, cheering you on and checking-up on you, it is easy to make excuses for why you can't accomplish something.

The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) did a study on accountability and found that you if you have a specific accountability appointment with a person that you’ve committed to, you will increase your chance of success by up to 95%.

An accountability partner, like a coach or a mentor, can give you the motivation that you need in order to take action when you are not where you want to be in life.

George Matthew Adams said it best – ““There is no such thing as a ‘self-made’ man. We are made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make-up of our character and of our thoughts, as well as our success.”

2. Develop Good Habits

If you want to achieve your goals, you need to commit to developing good habits. In doing so, it primes your brain for success. Research shows that the best way to improve your overall health and well-being is to start a new regular habit.

The most effective way to transform your goals into habits is to create a morning ritual. In the morning, you have the most willpower at your disposal, and so your motivation is at its peak.

Accountability is about willpower, and willpower is similar to a muscle. If it's possible for muscles to get stronger over time with training, willpower can do the same. In the words of Joshua Miller, “Personal accountability isn’t a trait that people are born with, it’s a way of living that you can learn.”

3. Find Your Purpose

Finding your purpose is a critical element to achieving your goals and experiencing fulfillment in life. By nature, having a purpose breeds accountability.

When you are living your purpose and doing what you love, you naturally want to be accountable to yourself and others because you are committed to something greater than yourself.

Write your purpose down, and read it out loud to yourself every day. When you do so, it will inspire you to stay committed to your goals and take action.

I challenge you to try out these 3 ways to hold yourself accountable to your goals. At the end of the day, mastering any goal in life requires that you make a conscious commitment to take action. It all starts and ends with you.

Running your own business is a 24/7 grind.  It takes commitment, patience, energy, and a lot of hard work.  If you want to master your life, you need to learn how to master your time.  It isn't easy to maintain a balance between work and life, but anything is possible if you adopt the right mindset.

As an entrepreneur who runs multiple businesses, I understand how important it is to have a supportive network of family and friends in my corner who encourage and inspire my growth and the overall vision for my life.

That is why I wanted to invite Lonnie Ogulnick, the Founder and CEO of Gordon Wealth and the author of, The Heart of a Beast, to write a guest post to talk about how to help your family support your grind.

Take it away Lonnie!

In theory, we are all hard workers. We all have those moments of uninterrupted work where we grind harder, get more done, and tap into our inner beast. We become so mission-focused, that the world outside of our work starts to disappear, and we start getting things done faster than we ever have before.

Then our kids need a ride to the movies.

Being an entrepreneur and having a family is tough, but you already know that. Everyone knows that. If we took the collective hours that have been spent writing articles on the topic of, “Work Life Balance For Entrepreneurs”, and applied it to something useful, we could probably cure cancer.

This isn’t an article about hacking your daily schedule to spend perfectly equal amounts of time with your family and work. Rather, it’s about sharing your life mission with your family, so that all of you are aligned in pursuing success.

When I was gone on weekends writing my book, my kids didn’t feel neglected, they felt proud. When I came home, we talked about my book, what it was about, what books they wanted to write one day, and how we as a family are on this mission together.

When I’m “underground” at work and grinding away on a project, my wife gets angry at other people for trying to interrupt me. She’s my confidant, my consultant, and my partner in my mission, just as I am to hers.  We don’t feel neglected when the other party has to dedicate time to work.

support your grind

Having a family that supports your hustle isn’t some Herculean feat.  I would like to share with you three ways of how to help your family support your grind:

1. Make Your Mission Their Mission

Most things in life come down to communication, and this is no different. If you want your family to buy into your mission, you have to clearly communicate it to them so that they understand the following:

  1. Exactly what you’ll be doing.
  2. Why it’s so important to you.
  3. What it might mean to their life.
  4. How important they are to the mission.

One of the problems entrepreneurs have is that their families don’t really know what they’re doing. If you’re disappearing for days at a time to work on something that no one else understands, or if your thoughts are constantly occupied by a project no one else knows about, how can anyone else buy into your life?

Talk to everyone in your family about your mission and their role in it. If you can’t see their role, it’s because you aren’t thinking big enough. If you need uninterrupted work, then your family is your first line of defense against distractions. They can field incoming calls, handle things you don’t need to focus on, and generally keep yourself unencumbered while you grind.

They might also be a sounding board for your ideas, an escape when you need to decompress, or collaborators on certain projects. They need to understand that they play a role in this mission, and that comes down to you communicating how you all function as a team.

2. Designate Your Off-Limits For Family Time

Friday nights are family nights in my house. Saturday nights are date nights with my wife. Sundays are for soccer games.  You don’t have to have a set daily schedule, but you need to have some measure of routine about the time you spend with your family. Part of being a member of a team is being dependable, and in order to be dependable, your schedule has to be somewhat predictable.

What this also does is it takes pressure off of you on a day-to-day basis. For example, I make an effort to see my kids for at least 15 minutes every morning before school, and usually it works out. However, there are a decent number of mornings where I just have too much going on.

My kids don’t feel neglected, because they are sharing in the mission, and they know that regardless of whether I’m there for breakfast or not, they own blocks of my week that are not negotiable. As a result, their importance to me is solidified in their minds.

3. Support Them In Their Missions

All of this advice so far has been pretty me-centric. It’s all about inviting your family into your mission and making time in your schedule.  However, that only works as long as your family does the same to you.  For example, both my daughters practice Jiu-Jitsu. When my daughter was younger, she was working very hard for a new belt, and we were driving her to and from classes every day.

However, we didn’t just drop her off and mentally checkout. We talked to her every day about how proud we were of her, how she was a role model for her sister, how as a family it was our job to do whatever she needed to succeed in her mission. She took the same mission-focus that my wife and I take to our work, and applied it to her mission. She knew her family would be her support team, because she served on everyone else’s support team.

These are some of the ways of how to help your family support your grind.  Always remember that your family is your squadron. You only have to balance work and family if the two aren’t connected at all. If every member of your family is balancing work and life, then all of you are living significant portions of your life completely isolated from each other.

When you all align with each other’s missions and function like a squadron, supporting each other and sharing in your victories, your work and family life become infinitely more rewarding, and you will never have to deal with the stress of sacrificing one for the other.
