Every successful person engages in morning ritual habits. Do you?

I'm a big believer that how you start your day determines how you live your life. This is why I've been practicing morning rituals since I was 17 years old.

This one habit has literally transformed every aspect of my life and continues to do so to this day. For the last 15 years, I have been studying the morning ritual habits of some of the most successful people in this world.

My findings were so powerful that I decided to write a book on 67 morning rituals for your body, mind, and spirit.

Morning ritual habits have transformed my life.

As many of you know who follow me, I am always looking for ways to biohack my health and level up my life. For a while now I have had the desire to dive deeper into the world of morning ritual habits. This is why I decided to write a book on the topic. I was curious about all of the rituals that people may not even be aware of that I could share and implement into my own morning ritual.

During the writing process, my team and I did comprehensive research to determine the benefits of each of the 67 rituals that I talk about in my book. I have personally engaged in all of these rituals. Keep in mind that I don't practice all 67 rituals in one sitting. I don't recommend that you try to accomplish that feat either! It's just not realistic. However, I do engage in about 5-10 of them every day.

Keep in mind that there is no ideal way to start your day. Everyone is different. However, from my research, I found that there are certain morning ritual habits that successful people adopt. These rituals have been found to have powerful effects on their lives in the long-term.

As you can tell, I'm extremely passionate about morning ritual habits. However, I wasn't always a morning person. For the majority of my childhood, I would sit for hours on end staring at a computer screen playing video games, eating junk food and feeling horrible about myself. It's fair to say that I had low self-esteem and terrible self-discipline.

Not surprisingly, this way of life cost me my productivity, focus, and happiness.

However, the moment that I was introduced to morning rituals, the game changed. It seemed like such a simple concept. I didn't believe that it was possible to level up your life by simply creating new habits. I was wrong. Researchers have found that simple rituals can be effective at increasing confidence and alleviating anxiety. These were two aspects of my life that I had struggled with since I was a kid.

When I was introduced to the self-development world, I learned that if I wanted to change my life, I had to start by changing myself. This was a massive wake-up call. I realized that I had a lot of unhealthy habits. The reality is that habits can be your servants or masters. If you don't take the time to connect to your inner world every single day, how do you expect to show up for anyone else?

Unfortunately, a lot of people choose the former. They roll out of bed, slam a pot of coffee, eat junk food, complain about their lives, and stress out to the point of becoming burnt out. They may have the desire to break these bad habits, but they don't know how. These patterns of operating have become so ingrained in their systems to the point that they feel normal.

Even though bad habits are toxic in nature, they continue to provide some type of benefit to people's lives. Simply stopping a bad habit will not work. In my experience, the only way that you can break a bad habit is by replacing it with a good one.

One of the most effective ways of changing your belief patterns is through practicing morning ritual habits.

By waking up every day and nourishing your my mind, body, and spirit, you will feel calmer and more in control of your emotions. Keep in mind that, when it comes to morning ritual habits, there is no gold standard. You need to find a routine that works best for you and your life. I encourage you to experiment with what feels good and monitor your state throughout the day.

If you want all 67 of my morning ritual habits for your body, mind, and spirit, CLICK HERE!

Below are 7 life-changing morning ritual habits that I talk about in my book and that I personally engage in on a daily basis. These rituals (and 60 others) have allowed me to be unstoppable in every area of my life. Again, find what works for you, but I encourage you to test these out and see how they make you feel.

1. Practice Yoga

The benefits of yoga are limitless – you get to relax and reflect, all while doing something good for your body. Keep a yoga mat close to your bed and let this be the first thing you do once you get up. You don't have to be a yogi or a yogini to practice yoga. While there is no wrong time to practice yoga, I have found that doing practice in the morning is the best time. After a long night of sleeping, it's a great way to wake up your body. Practicing yoga increases your flexibility and supports your posture, which helps to support your alignment. This is especially important if you are someone who sits in front of a computer all day.

While yoga is good for the body, it is equally as good for the mind. Before starting a busy day, yoga gives you a chance to unwind and focus on your own energy. What “you” do you want to show the world today? Yoga gives you the chance to start the day revitalized and ready to put your best foot forward.

In the words of Ymber Delecto, “Yoga is invigoration in relaxation. Freedom in routine. Confidence through self-control. Energy within and energy without.”

2. Use a Foam Roller

While yoga may help you prepare for the aches and pains you may feel from a long day of work, a foam roller does wonders for the pains that are already present. While few of us have the time to invest in frequent deep tissue massages, a foam roller provides the same pleasure. Though it might take a while to get used to the foam roller’s unique sensations, it will help your body heal from the stress that it takes on every day.

The rolling helps stimulate blood flow to release knots throughout your body. You can literally foam roll almost any part of your body. While this might sound too good to be true, you can often get a foam roller for less than $20 at any store that sells fitness goods. There are also an endless amount of options on Amazon, from the most basic designs to complex textures meant for those with intense workouts. Keep your foam roller close to your yoga mat so that you can get in a yoga session and a foam rolling session before you even leave your bedroom!

3. Recite Positive Affirmations

It is so easy to be controlled by limiting stories and beliefs. My limiting beliefs used to control my world, so much so that I was extremely anxious and depressed. It wasn't until I started to condition my mind with positive and uplifting thoughts that my internal landscape started to shift.

I am living proof that reciting positive affirmations works. This isn't to say that I don't still have negative thoughts from time to time. However, these thoughts are fleeting. Just like building a muscle, you need to actively strengthen your mind every single day. If not, your inner critic will take center stage.

Affirmations work their magic by shifting disempowering belief systems and replacing them with more empowering ones. To make affirmations work, you need to know which belief(s) you want to change. Do you lack confidence, have body issues, or question whether or not you even deserve success? Find an area of life that you want to develop. If you make positive affirmations an integral part of your morning ritual, your mind will start to believe them to to be true.

Here are some of the morning ritual affirmations that I say to myself every day.

  • I always focus on and find the good in everything.
  • Life doesn’t happen to me, it happens for me.
  • In order to earn more, I must learn more.
  • If I change, everything will change for me.
  • The past does not equal the future.

Choose affirmations that resonate with you. If you need help, there are thousands of affirmations online to choose from. You can recite them out loud to yourself in the mirror while you are getting ready for work. Similarly, you could integrate them into your yoga practice and silently repeat them to yourself while you move your body.

4. Meditate

You don't have to be a guru to experience the benefits of meditation. I've got to be honest… when I first started meditating, I didn't connect with the practice on an emotional level. I knew that it was a “healthy” thing to do, but I couldn't wrap my head around how sitting in silence with your eyes closed could change your life. However, once I forced myself to meditate on a daily basis, over time, I was hooked.

I started to notice the effects that it was having on my mental and emotional state. Sitting in silence for 10 minutes every day has been a game changer in my life. It has allowed me to effectively cope with stress and find inner calmness and clarity, which has become my natural state of being.

The best way to get started with meditation is to just start!

Find a quiet and calm place, void of distractions. The moment that I wake up I prop up my pillow and go inward. I focus on my breath and the present moment. I don't try to force my mind to go blank. That is impossible. Instead, I become an active observer of my thoughts. I notice what comes up and then I allow my thoughts to come and go.

If you’ve never practiced meditation before, spend a few mornings finding what suits you best. Some people like to meditate in total silence, while others like to listen to relaxing music or sing along to mantras. If you can start your day with a relaxed mind, free of worry, you are winning at life. Remember that every day is a new opportunity to start fresh. Meditation gives you that freedom.

5. Start Journaling

In my experience, journaling first thing in the morning is a great way to make sense of your thoughts. This process is not only cathartic but it gives you an opportunity to check-in with where you are and how you feel.

Before you engage with the external world, why not take a look at what's happening in your inner world? You don't have to write a thesis. Even one sentence is enough. If you give yourself the space to write freely, you will surprise yourself how much you have to express.

Journaling has become my favorite mind dump exercise. It helps me connect with my feelings, especially when I'm struggling with something that I just can't find the answer to. Sometimes it's impossible to express how you feel in words. Writing is a great alternative for self-expression.

As part of my morning ritual, I engage in an exercise where I write in my Five Minute Journal. Using the science of positivity to improve happiness, this journal is structured in such a way that inspires you to start and end each day with gratitude.

As part of this process, I ask myself three questions that allow me to set an intention for my day ahead. Not only does this make me feel more grounded, but it also helps me create more empowering beliefs. The next time that you journal, don't overthink it. Just allow your thoughts to flow and don't give yourself a limit to your creativity. Your thoughts are important. Honor them. By doing so, you honor yourself as well.

6. Engage In Random Acts of Kindness

I've talked a lot about how to nourish yourself before you start your day. Without a healthy sense of self, it is difficult to have the energy to give to others. However, there comes a point when you need to go out into the world and connect with others. A great way of getting yourself out of a bad mood and lifting your spirits is by engaging in random acts of kindness.

Every day that I wake up I ask myself, “How can I be of service to others?” There’s no denying that giving makes you feel good. If you can instill some happiness in your day and in someone else's simultaneously, you are winning.

You don’t have to join a non-profit and travel to Africa to make a difference. Start in your community. It can be as easy as paying for the coffee of the person standing behind you in line. Similarly, you could hold the door open for someone. It's that simple. When someone is the recipient of your random act of kindness, they may even pay it forward, creating a beautiful exchange of love. In my experience, there is no greater feeling than knowing that you have made someone's day brighter.

7. Celebrate Yourself

How often do you celebrate yourself? Every day, once a week, once a month… or worse, never? I think that all of us could take more time to celebrate how far we've come, no matter how small the milestone may be. Thinking about yourself in a positive way is one of the best things that you can do for your health and well-being. If you want the world to celebrate you and your gifts, then you first must learn to accept yourself unconditionally.

Let's be real… life can be hard sometimes. It is during your lowest moments when you need to love yourself the most. Research shows that recognizing your own achievements has the power to boost your motivation and performance. Praising yourself may feel awkward at first, especially if you don't do it enough.

Just keep in mind that the celebration of oneself is a lifelong journey. Just take one day at a time. You're doing a great job. You are enough. Make sure that you remind yourself of this every single day.

A morning ritual will supercharge your mind, body, and spirit.

I'm excited to finally share the 67 rituals that I have personally tested and utilized at different stages of my life. The benefits that I have received from all of them have been incredible. Positive thinking has the power to transform your entire life.

The human mind is the most powerful tool for achieving your goals and dreams in life.  It can be your friend or your foe. Unfortunately, a lot of people fall into a negative thinking trap, which prevents them from achieving success.

Are your beliefs limiting you?

You are in control of what it is that you think about. This means that you have the ability to create your life, simply by thinking positive and empowering thoughts. Given that this is true, imagine how your life could change if you shifted your thinking?

The Dalai Lama said it best – “See the positive side, the potential, and make an effort.” When you think positively, you feel better and live a more stress-free life. It's a win-win. Are you ready to learn some powerful affirmations for positive thinking?

The best technique for harnessing the power of your mind is through affirmations of positive thinking. These high vibe mantras will help you eliminate and recondition negative thought patterns that are holding you back from experiencing a happy and fulfilling life.

Positive thinking is the key to success.

The most high-performing successful people all have one trait in common. They harness the power of positive thinking. Because they have positive self-concepts, they know who they are and what they are capable of achieving.

The question is, “What is positive thinking?”

Positive thinking is an attitude that looks for the possibilities in life. People that are positive believe in themselves and are always looking for the most favorable outcomes, even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Positive thoughts don't just make you feel happier, they also create real value in your life. The benefits of positive thinking have been supported by a growing body of research that shows practicing affirmations can actually bolster people’s feelings of self-worth and make them respond more constructively to threats. These findings prove that affirmations work.

I have been practicing affirmations for positive thinking as part of my morning ritual since I was 17 years old. They have helped me transform my belief system from one that was disempowering to one that is empowering. My morning ritual is my favorite part of the day.

Every day I write down positive thinking quotes, sayings, and affirmations on cards, and I say them out loud to myself. As part of this process, I really think about what these affirmations mean and I go deep with them. There is a lot of power that comes from speaking affirmations out loud to yourself.

Tony Robbins is a big believer in the power of incantations, which he says are even more powerful than affirmations. Incantations allow you to engage your physiology and harness the power of your emotions with each empowering phrase or quote that you say out loud.

Words are powerful. The things that you say to yourself have an emotional charge to them. How do you speak to yourself? Oftentimes, we get stuck in habitual negative phrases, whether that's internally or out loud, that end up affecting every area of our lives.

If we don't do the work to silence our inner self-critic, he or she will take over, thereby limiting us from fulfilling our potential.

Do you find it hard to be positive all the time? If so, you aren't alone. We all have bad days where we are in a negative mood or feeling down. I definitely have these moments. But when I pull upon my affirmations for positive thinking, I am able to snap out of this reactive state and train my brain to be more optimistic. When I do this, my entire day changes.

A Harvard research study found that people can increase their strength, just by thinking about doing something. When it comes to understanding the science behind our thoughts, these findings are hugely important. They prove that we have the power to change our lives, merely by changing our thoughts.

I would like to share with you some affirmations for positive thinking that can enhance your day. I like to jump up and down on my rebounder in the morning and say these things. When I've finished this part of my morning ritual, I feel more empowered, confident and unstoppable than ever before.

  • I can feel amazing, just by deciding to.
  • I don't need a reason to feel good.
  • Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.
  • This too shall pass.
  • Use me, Lord.
  • In order to earn more, I must learn more.
  • I control how I feel.
  • I always focus on and find the good in everything.
  • Life doesn't happen to me, it happens for me.
  • Everything happens for a reason and a purpose, and it serves me.
  • Strength doesn't come from physical capacity, it comes from an abdominal will.
  • At any moment I need to be willing to sacrifice what I am, for who I could become.
  • I would rather have a mind opened by wonder than one closed by belief.

There is so much wisdom that can be found in these positive thinking quotes, and that is why they are so valuable, especially when you speak them with passion. Words create your future.

You have the power to rewire your brain for positive thinking. The best place to start is by speaking up, eliminating negative thought patterns, and thinking positively every day!

Now that I've shared some of my favorite affirmations, let's dive into some other positive thinking exercises that you can implement into your daily life that will allow you to further level up your optimism.

If you struggle to stay positive on a consistent basis, these 4 exercises will help you stay on track when negative thoughts pop into your head.

1. Breathe Deeply

Have you ever thought about how you breathe? Most likely not, because breathing is something that we do unconsciously. Unfortunately, many people don't breathe properly.

Think about a time when you've felt stressed and you went into panic mode. In this state, it's easy to feel short of breath.  The key is to practice deep breathing. As you draw in a deep breath, expand your stomach. Doing so will allow the air to move all the way up your diaphragm.

There is an old adage that says, “Where the breath goes, the mind follows.” If your breath is shallow, you may be experiencing negative thoughts. When you focus more on the quality of your breath, you won't have time to focus on ruminative thoughts.

The next time that you are experiencing stress, I encourage you to try slowing your breath down, which will help to slow your mind down, resulting in a happier and calmer state of mind.

2. Be Grateful

Practicing gratitude is one of the most powerful and simple practices that you can engage in to boost your happiness and appreciate all of the amazing gifts that life brings with it.

It's easy to get lost in worry and forget about the big picture. Think about how lucky you are to be alive.

Even when life gets hard, do your best to find the silver lining. What are you grateful for? Start noticing life's miracles. They are everywhere.

When you adopt an attitude of gratitude, it means that you are making the choice to focus on what you already have, rather than dwell on what you don't have. This is the secret to creating a positive mindset.

3. Let Go Of The Past

The only way that you can truly embody positive thinking is by letting go of the negativity of the past. Pain and sadness can affect every fiber of our being, leaving us feeling depleted if we allow it to.

What are you holding onto that is preventing you from living in the present moment and feeling free to move forward with a positive outlook towards the future?

We can't change the past. All that we can do is forgive ourselves and others, learn from our mistakes, and let go of the negative emotions that are sucking away our energy. Letting go of the past will allow you to live a happier life that is free from negativity.

How would your life change if you were able to live in the present moment?

4. Celebrate Yourself

We tend to get so caught up in celebrating others, that we forget about ourselves. You deserve to be celebrated for all of your achievements, every single day.

How often do you do something nice for yourself?

We spend way too much time getting down on ourselves about the things that we could have done better, or the mistakes that we made. STOP.

Yes, life can be really challenging sometimes, leaving us feeling stressed and overwhelmed. However, during these times, you need to look out for #1 and take care of yourself. Not only will celebrating how far you have come make you feel more grateful, it will also elevate your positivity.

When you focus on the positive aspects of life, it trains your brain to look for the good, in yourself and in the world at large. This simple practice has the power to transform your entire life, so I encourage you to celebrate yourself more.

Take it from Oprah Winfrey, who said, “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”

I hope these affirmations for positive thinking exercises instilled some love and happiness into your day. I encourage you to try these out or create your own. It's all about finding what resonates most with you. The key is repetition.

If you incorporate positive affirmations into your morning ritual, positive thinking will become your natural state of mind.

Positive thinking is a way of life. If you commit to adopting a positive mindset, you will manifest success, happiness, and abundance. When you look on the brighter side of life, everything becomes brighter as a result.

Someone once said that “A negative mind will never give you a positive life.” So, what are you waiting for? Start flooding your mind with positive thoughts today!

Are you ready to learn 4 secrets to making New Years resolutions that stick? January is a great time to start thinking about all the amazing things that you want to accomplish in 2018, but the trick is finding ways to stick with your resolutions.

Unfortunately, many people break their resolutions because they don't have a well-designed plan for success, nor do they prepare for the challenges that come with changing bad habits.  Research has shown that about half of all adults make New Years resolutions. However, fewer than 10% manage to keep them for more than a few months.

The good news is that you don't have to fall into this trap because I am here to share with you 4 secrets to making New Years resolutions that stick, so that you can confidently crush your goals in 2018!

Are you ready to start living every day with confidence, passion, and energy? CLICK HERE to join my Morning Ritual Mastery course!

Bad habits can be hard to break. Most of us can relate to this, whether that means trying to lose weight, quit smoking, or ditching coffee. Samuel Johnson once said, “The chains of habit are too weak to be felt, until they are too strong to be broken.”

The question remains, “If we know that bad habits aren't good for us, then why do we struggle to let them go?” New research by Duke University scientists suggests that a habit leaves a lasting mark on specific circuits in the brain, priming us to feed our cravings.

Changing habits comes down to willpower, and we all have it! Just like a muscle, it needs to be conditioned. Let's explore 4 secrets to making New Years resolutions that stick:

1. Fully Commit

Have you ever wondered why some people keep with their New Years resolutions, while others fail? It all comes down to commitment. Merely saying that you are going to change isn't enough. You need to take action.

Once you commit, create a realistic plan and write down what it is that you are going to do. A great way to hold yourself accountable to your New Years resolutions is to create a commitment contract, which has been found to have measurable effects when it comes to achieving personal goals.

Moreover, if you want to double your chances of reaching your goals, add a monetary component. One study found that people who had a financial incentive to lose weight lost 14 pounds more than those didn't have such incentives.

2. Set SMART Goals

The reason why a lot of people don't follow through with their New Years resolutions is that they are too general and not specific. If one of your resolutions is, “to lose some weight,” you won't get far.

The first step to changing any behavior is understanding what it is that you want to change. The best way to be 100% clear on what your resolutions are is to set S.M.A.R.T. goals, meaning ones that are smart, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely.

According to research by Edwin Locke and Gary Latham, people who followed goals that were both specific and challenging led to higher performance 90% of the time. By setting S.M.A.R.T. resolutions, it will give you an endpoint to move towards, thereby setting you up for success.

3. Start Small

Let's face it…changing a bad habit can be hard work. Everyone has attempted to start a new habit and failed at least once. Why? Oftentimes, it's because their goals were too big.

Start small and focus on simple mini habits. For example, if you want to lose 10 pounds, commit to 30 minutes at the gym 2 times/week, and then slowly increase the amount over time. When you remove the pressure and expectations that come with changing old patterns of behavior, it gives you the motivation that you need to stick with it.

In the words of psychologist Lynn Bufka, “Remember, it is not the extent of the change that matters, but rather the act of recognizing that lifestyle change is important, and working toward it, one step at a time.” Don't ever forget that small wins eventually transform into big gains over time.

4. Find An Accountability Partner

It's a lot easier to follow through with your New Years resolutions when you have someone in your corner, cheering you on, especially when you feel like giving up. Breaking a promise to yourself is one thing, but it's far harder to let someone else down.

According to a study at the Dominican University of California, more than 70% of the participants who wrote down their goals and then sent weekly updates to a friend reported successful goal achievement. Of those participants who created a goal and kept it to themselves, only 35% were successful.

Stop procrastinating and share your goals with a friend, colleague, or loved one. Having an accountability partner is one of the best ways to stay consistent and motivated so that you continually make progress towards your goals.

These are 4 secrets to making New Years resolutions that stick. What're your New Years resolutions? If you haven't already, I encourage you to sit down and make a list of the lifestyle changes that you want to make this year. This is the beginning of anything you want. Don't be afraid to dream big.

Do you want to learn my goal setting strategy for success? Setting goals is an important part of our everyday lives. At the end of the day, it is the only way that we get anything done.

The research is clear. People who set goals are more successful. However, if you don’t know how to set goals properly, it can have the opposite effect.

Unfortunately, a lot of people never achieve their goals. When they don’t see any progress, they get discouraged and give up. Sure enough, they feel like a failure for doing so which diminishes their desire to set any new goals in the future.

It all comes down to learning how to set goals properly, and I’m here to show you how. In the words of Tom Landry, “Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and sticking with that plan.”

It is important that you have goals that are focused towards a specific result, because ultimately a result is what you are after. However, I believe that focusing solely on the end result is a big mistake. In order to achieve the results that you desire, you need to pay attention to the process of getting there.

Process-Oriented

Process oriented-goals are little milestones that serve as signs of progress that you are on the right path. How do you expect to reach your destination if you don’t have a roadmap for getting there?

The reality is that you don’t have 100% control over whether or not you will achieve the result that you are after. You have influence, at best. All that you have control over is the process.

If you take a look at my 2017 monthly goals report you will see that I have results-oriented and process-oriented goals. The results goal that I set for myself in 2017 is to make $2 million in revenue in my business.

Keep in mind that I don't have 100% control over that result, but I do have control over the actions that I can take that will lead me to that end goal.

For example, some of my process-oriented goals for achieving my results-oriented goal were as follows:

Launch my Life Mastery Accelerator program

Launch my Online Business Mastery Accelerator program

Create my new PLM website

If you want to achieve true, lasting success in life, you need to focus on and enjoy the process. This is my goal setting strategy for success.

Whatever result that you have for yourself, you need to break it down into smaller chunks and celebrate your wins along the way. Oftentimes people are making progress, but they aren’t aware of it because they don’t take the time to enjoy the process.

Research supports this intuition, showing that people need to feel like they are making meaningful progress in their work. Celebrating wins is one way of doing so.

Every time that you achieve a process-oriented goal, celebrate yourself! When you do, you will be more likely to continue to make progress towards achieving the result that you desire.

When you shift your perspective and master the process, you improve yourself and move closer towards becoming the person that you desire to be.

In the words of Henry David Thoreau, “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” Learn to enjoy the process and the person that you become on the road to crushing your goals.

I would like to share with you 3 reasons why it's important to celebrate yourself every day. The reality is that we live in a fast-paced world. We are taught that “accomplishment” means getting as much done in a day as you possibly can. However, too many of us don’t take the time to reflect on our accomplishments. When was the last time that you stopped and took a moment to celebrate and reward yourself? If you struggle with this notion, you aren’t alone.

How Can You Celebrate Yourself Everyday?

  • Look at your daily accomplishments
  • Focus on your achievements
  • Be grateful for everything in your life
  • Have physical rewards for things you have done well
  • Look at your inner strengths
  • Identify ways you are accomplishing your purpose
  • Find joy with the best moments of your day
  • See what goals you have achieved

Commit to celebrating who you are and loving yourself. Make this a habit everyday with the things you accomplish. However, you don’t need a reason or something you have done to celebrate. Instead, celebrate you for being you.

Oftentimes, self-promotion has been associated with arrogance. In his groundbreaking book, The Portable Coach: 28 Sure Fire Strategies For Business And Personal Success, Thomas Leonard shared his 28 Laws of Attraction. In # 7, Market Your Talents Shamelessly, he shares a brilliant distinction between confidence and arrogance. He says, “Confidence is knowing exactly what you do well and don’t do well; arrogance is a way to cover up what you don’t do well.” When you celebrate your successes, it will motivate you to achieve more, which in turn, will elevate your confidence even more.

As part of my morning ritual, I spend one minute every day celebrating my life, which puts me into a high vibrational state. When I do so, I experience an abundance of joy and fulfillment, which inspires me to do and achieve more. In the words of Oprah Winfrey, “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” You deserve to have your accomplishments and unique personality be recognized. When you condition your mind for success, anything is possible. If you don’t celebrate yourself, then who will celebrate you?

Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goals to be proud of yourself. Celebrate every step along the way. Entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk acknowledges that he has a hard time celebrating wins because he “loves the climb.” However, if you are always focusing on ‘what is next’, then you will feel depleted. When you celebrate the small wins that you make, no matter how tough life gets, it will create the confidence and momentum that you need in order to keep going. According to an article in the Harvard Business Review, there is power in small wins, and it’s the fulfillment that comes from making progress on meaningful goals.

Here are 3 reasons why it's important to celebrate yourself every day.

1. It Reminds Us To Enjoy the Journey

If you are constantly doing and not being, you will miss out on all the beautiful moments in life. Oftentimes, we take life too seriously and we become so attached to the final outcome that we forget to enjoy the journey.  It’s great to be ambitious; however the key is to develop a mindset that allows you to pursue big things in life, without sacrificing the small things that make life worth living.

Take a moment every day, stop what you are doing, celebrate, and savour the moment. Life is not a race. When you learn to find joy in the journey, the destination feels all the more worthwhile. When is the last time that you stopped to ‘smell the roses', so to speak?

2. It Reminds Us To Be Grateful

Gratitude is the key to living a happy and fulfilled life. It is one of the greatest gifts that we can give to ourselves. Celebrating yourself means taking the time to be genuinely grateful for your life. Unfortunately, it is easy to lose touch with gratitude. A lot of people are so focused on celebrating the highs of life, that they tend to lose sight of the small things in life that bring them the most joy. Celebrating your life every day is a way to develop an attitude of gratitude that can shift your entire perspective on life.

Research by Dr. Robert A. Emmons, professor of psychology at the University of California shows that those who celebrate life by practicing gratitude tend to be more creative, bounce back more quickly from adversity, have a stronger immune system, and have stronger social relationships than those who don’t. There are too many benefits to count. What are you grateful for? Celebrate your blessings every day and watch your life change for the better.

3. It Increases Our Confidence

Many of us have limiting beliefs about ourselves in at least one area of our lives, which results in a decrease in confidence. The more that you celebrate yourself, the more your confidence raises. When you do so, you are telling the Universe that you are unstoppable, which in turn, attracts more positive energy into your life. Not only that, but when you radiate confidence, it inspires others to be confident as well. Don’t ever hold back. Be proud of who you are and what you have accomplished. You step into your power when you are able to master this skill. Are you ready to own your amazingness?

These are 3 reasons why it's important to celebrate yourself every day. When you take time every day to acknowledge the little actions that you are taking towards the achievement of your goals, you strengthen those actions. In what ways can you acknowledge yourself today? Take a moment and think about what you have accomplished. To love yourself means to celebrate the very existence of who you are. Hold yourself in high regard. You deserve it.

I would like to share with you how to accelerate mastery. This occurs through a process known as positive reinforcement, which was proposed by a behavioral psychologist by the name of B.F. Skinner. In operant conditioning, positive reinforcement works by presenting a motivating/reinforcing stimulus to a person after the desired behavior is exhibited, making the behavior more likely to happen in the future. You may be wondering, “How does this theory apply to mastery?”

Whenever you do something positive, you need to reward yourself for it. When you do, that behavior will repeat itself. That is how to accelerate mastery. Similar to animals, humans respond better to positive versus negative reinforcement. In the book, Don’t Shoot The Dog!: The New Art of Teaching and Training, the author talks about how positive reinforcement is the best way to train an animal and a human being.

Unfortunately, many people struggle with inner dialogues that take on negative connotations.  Your beliefs about who you are shape your entire life and they have a direct influence on your behavior. In the words of James Allen, “The outer conditions of a person’s life will always be found to reflect their inner beliefs.”

In the book, Great Negotiating Skills (Business Solution Series), the author expresses that constant negative reinforcement that is created by negative self-talk, results in the creation of limiting beliefs.  If you want to live a life of mastery, you need to first identify and change the limiting beliefs that are holding you back from stepping into your power. Are your beliefs limiting you? If so, you aren’t alone.

All of us are too hard on ourselves. We need to celebrate our accomplishments more and acknowledge our strengths. In the words of Brene Brown, “Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.” If you associate pain and struggle with what it is that you want to manifest into your life, your brain will block it out and stop trying.  Your mind will always find a story or a belief that doesn’t fulfill your highest self.

If you want to change a limiting belief into an empowering one, you need to recondition your mind to think high vibrational, positive thoughts. That is how to accelerate mastery.  The good news is that once you start seeing results in your life, you create a new set of beliefs about yourself, and soon thereafter, other people start to reinforce your identity even further. It becomes a domino effect.

We have all heard the saying, “Practice makes perfect”, but there is now science to back it up. Research shows that nerve pathways are strongest in those who have mastered a skill. When we learn a new skill, we are changing how our brain is wired on a deep level. Through the process of practice and repetition, we are actually helping our brains optimize for a new set of coordinated activities, through a process called myelination (Shen, 2014). This research proves that if you want to improve your performance, practice frequently. In the words of Earl Nightingale, “Whatever we plant in our subconscious and nurture with repetition and emotion will one day become reality.”

Acknowledge and celebrate yourself more often, and reinforce everything that you do. That is how to accelerate mastery.  Make the choice to commit your life to mastery. It is the recipe for success, happiness, and fulfillment.
