Pain is a universal human condition.

The problem is that a lot of people aren’t even aware what their emotional pain & suffering involves. Nobody likes to feel pain. It’s a lot easier to suppress it and pretend that it doesn’t exist. Unfortunately, if you try to fight your pain, it actually triggers other painful emotions, resulting in more emotional pain.

Have you ever wondered why it's so difficult to let go of experiences that have caused you emotional pain & suffering? The answer lies in your interpretation of your life experiences. We've all had experiences that have significantly affected who we are. As a result, we create stories that shape our identity; who we are, the decisions that we make, and how we interact with people.

It's not so much an experience itself that causes emotional suffering & pain. Rather, it's the meaning that you ascribe to your experience. Nothing in life has any meaning other than the meaning that you give it. Let me give you an example.

Let’s say that your Dad left when you were 5 years old. You create a story that he left because he doesn’t love you. This may have led you to believe that you’re not good enough. If you’re not good enough, the line of thinking is that you must not deserve happiness.

As a result, every time you get into a relationship with someone you may get scared that he or she is going to abandon you. Sure enough, you sabotage your relationships and create an emotional wall to protect your heart because you are so terrified of getting hurt again. This cycle of self-destruction will continue until the point at which you are ready to heal your pain and rewrite the narrative of your life.

How can you let go of past pain & suffering and move forward?

Firstly, you need to figure out what is holding you back, and then you have to be willing to look at the parts of yourself that are still hurting. Facing your pain, head-on isn't easy but it's an integral piece of the healing process. True freedom comes when you are finally able to see an event for what it is and no longer attach any meaning to it. This speaks to the power of reframing.

When you are able to reframe an experience in a more empowering way, in turn, you are able to change the end result. Not only will this motivate you to become a better human being, but it will also improve every area of your life. In the words of Wayne Dyer, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

This is how to free yourself from emotional pain & suffering.

The next time that you catch yourself creating a disempowering meaning from a situation, step back and ask yourself, “How is this experience helping me to become a better person?

This simple shift in perspective will help you to accept things as they are without trying to force an outcome. Believe that life is always happening for you, not to you. Every challenge that you’ve gone through has made you into the person who you are today.

The darkest times in your life can lead to beautiful destinations if you allow them to. Freedom from emotional pain & suffering is yours for the taking. Don't lose faith. This too shall pass.

Pain is a powerful motivator.

It can be your most profound catalyst for growth. Unfortunately, a lot of people are so afraid of pain that they do whatever it takes to avoid it. This happens because, as humans, we are wired for comfort. We are taught that anything outside of our zone of comfort must be “risky” so we believe that to be true.

Here's the truth… if you stay in your comfort zone you won't grow. End of story. You will feel bored, lazy, and unmotivated. This is why I believe that comfort is the enemy of progress. I'm not saying that staying in your comfort zone can't result in a steady performance.

However, it's only when you step outside of your comfort zone into a new and challenging task that you will create the conditions for optimal performance. Think about it… Have you ever accomplished something profound without stretching your limits? Probably not.

People who lack motivation associate pain and discomfort to the things that they know they should do. It seems counterintuitive but they end up associating pleasure to things that are disempowering. As a result, they are left feeling stuck. The only way to change this mindset is to link and associate with the pain of NOT doing what you know you should do.

If you're not where you want to be in life, you've got to ask yourself, “What is the act of being lazy costing me and my life?” It's important to understand that laziness doesn't define who you are as a person. Rather, it's just a habit that has been conditioned over a period of time. Like any habit, it can be reprogrammed.

I used to be a very lazy person.

Video games were my excuse for hiding from the world. I had zero motivation. Once I started to understand how pain and pleasure work, my life changed. Get honest with yourself because the truth will set you free. If you're procrastinating, making excuses, and feeling lazy and unmotivated, it's time to make a change.

Instead of putting your head in the sand, use your pain as fuel to build up your mental and emotional strength. Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo, says that “People who regularly seek out fresh experiences tend to be more creative and emotionally resilient than those who remain stuck in a routine.”

Yes, there is always a chance that you may experience pain or discomfort from doing that which you aren't familiar with. However, you will never know how amazing life can be if you don't at least try. Don't allow pain to dictate your future because that will only lead to a life of mediocrity. You are meant for greatness so don't settle for less than you deserve.

At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide whether or not you want to continue living life on autopilot or do something different. If you can get to the truth, you can change anything in your life.

Don't wait until you hit your emotional threshold to take action.

One of the most powerful ways to build empowering habits that stick so that you don't hit rock bottom is to create a morning ritual. A ritual ensures that you can operate at your best every single day. When you are at your best, you are unstoppable.

Hence, when challenges arise, you will be better equipped to handle them because you will have already done the work to put yourself into a high vibe state of mind. The morning is when you have the most willpower so take advantage of this time and nourish your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self. Doing so will allow you to feel happier, healthier and more productive.

Laziness is a form of procrastination.

I'm very familiar with the habit of laziness, as I used to be a very lazy person. I skipped school a lot when I was a teenager because I was addicted to video games. As a result, I had zero motivation. I was merely looking for a life of comfort. Comfort is the enemy of a great life. As long as you're comfortable, you're not growing.

The good news is that laziness can be replaced by productivity. It comes down to the desire to shift your mindset and commit to adopting new and healthy ways of behaving. Today, I am the opposite of lazy. Taking action is what allows you to make progress in life, rather than just sitting around all day being lazy.

How do you feel when you aren't doing the things that you know you should be doing? I'm going to assume that your self-confidence plummets because you feel guilty.

Without adequate self-confidence, you won't believe that you're capable of doing something successfully. This inner conflict is what creates confusion and inaction for a lot of people. Here are 3 simple steps for how to STOP being lazy and start taking massive action.

1. Have A Vision That Excites You

Do you have a personal vision for your life? If not, now is the time to create one. Having a solid vision that motivates you to wake up every morning is what gives your life direction. If you don't have a “why” you will be more inclined to fall into a laziness trap because you will feel uninspired.

You've got to associate so much pleasure towards your vision that you are pulled towards it naturally. Research shows that envisioning your best possible future will boost your positive emotions, happiness levels, and willl improve your coping skills. When you have a strong enough why, the how will take care of itself. In this state, procrastination will no longer be a part of your vocabulary.

2. Understand how pain and pleasure work

The reason why you are lazy is that you associate doing the things that you know you should do as painful and uncomfortable. In effect, you are associating pleasure towards the things you are doing to distract yourself. You've got to link and associate to the pain of not doing what you know you should do, so much so that you hit an emotional threshold.

If you are struggling with laziness right now, what is the consequence of not taking action? As an example, if it's exercising, imagine what will happen if you don't make health a priority. Feel the pull of wanting to be fit so that you don't have to feel the pain of sickness.

Secondly, what has not taking action already cost you in the past? Take a look at all the things you've missed out on as a result of being lazy. Don't settle for a life of mediocrity because you deserve great things. Laziness is costing you too much.

Lastly, what pleasure will you receive by taking action and being productive? Your self-esteem will most likely go up. When you do the things that you know you should do, naturally you will feel good about yourself. The better that you feel, the more pleasure that you will associate to an experience, and the more likely that you will take action.

3. Find an accountability buddy

There will be times when you won't feel like being productive. However, that's where you need the most help. Most people move throughout their lives not asking for help. Rather, they brave it on their own. I don't know anyone who has become successful on their own.

They've all been in close proximity with others who hold them to a higher standard, whether that's in the form of coaches, mentors or accountability groups. The quality of your life is in direct proportion to the expectations of your peers. Find an accountability buddy or join a Facebook group, like my Project Life Mastery Global Facebook community!

We've got thousands of people from all over the world that come together to support one another. Find someone who you is motivated and ready to make a change in their life. Call one another and share 3 things that each of you is committed to doing in a given day.

If you break your commitment, have a consequence for doing so. Maybe that means donating $10 to a charity. Conversely, if one or both of you follow through with your commitments, make an effort to reward one another. What gets rewarded, gets repeated.

This is how to STOP being lazy once and for all.

If laziness is sabotaging your goals and dreams in life, it is time to break the cycle. Take back control of your life by following the simple steps that I outlined above. Commit to building new patterns and rituals that motivate you to take action.

All that matters is that you make progress. If you have a setback, don't beat yourself up. Every day is a new day to start fresh. Are you ready to become more productive?

Here is the best entrepreneur advice for beginners.

At the beginning of an entrepreneurial journey it can feel like a roller coaster ride, filled with highs and lows. If you want to succeed in the startup world, you need to learn how to navigate this bumpy terrain so that you come out on top.

The reality is that 8 out of 10 businesses fail in the first year. How would it feel if you could avoid the mistakes that 80% of people make? If more entrepreneurs were armed with the right advice, I think that these numbers would be lower.

Starting a business requires a myriad of personality traits; like hard work, grit, patience, sacrifice, energy, and a passion to succeed. Only the strong survive. Are you one of them?

In this book, The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster: Why Now Is the Time to #JoinTheRide, Darren Hardy says that people who make the jump into entrepreneurship just aren't ready, prepared, or equipped.

I want to share with you the best entrepreneur advice for beginners, comprised of skills that every entrepreneur must master:

1. Believe in Yourself

Making the choice to become an entrepreneur takes courage, especially when family or friends don’t support your vision, which is why you need to believe in yourself.

The most successful people in this world didn’t get to where they are today by doubting themselves. Talk to yourself as if you are a winner.

If you don’t believe in yourself, who will believe in you? This is your life, your choices, and your destiny. Make it count. As Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.”

2. Master Your Emotions

If you want to succeed at anything in life, it starts with going inward and learning how to master your emotions. Successful entrepreneurs don’t let their emotions drive their decisions. Rather, they remain calm and calculated under pressure.

A business that is based on reactive decisions will only result in failure. Yes, you will get triggered, but it is up to you to learn how to calm your ‘emotional storm’ so that you can master any challenge that stands in your way of success.

3. Enjoy The Process Of Success

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you need to learn how to enjoy the process of success. If you only focus on external rewards from your efforts, you will always be in the rat race. Don’t be a slave to your external environment.

Even when you start making a certain amount of money and become financially free, it won’t be enough. You will always be looking for the next best thing.

The chase will never make you happy, which is why you need to become less attached to the final outcome and enjoy the process of success. That is where the real growth lies.

4. Focus on Contribution

Take a moment and think about how lucky you are to be able to do what you love. Having an appreciation for your accomplishments carries more meaning when you are able to give back and make a positive impact on the lives of others.

At the end of the day, contribution is the ultimate reward in life. I believe that we are all here to give and contribute something, beyond ourselves. Not only does it give you a sense of lasting fulfillment, but it also serves to accelerate your success at a much faster pace.

In the words of Zig Ziglar, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”

5. Don’t Be Afraid Of Failure

If you have experienced failure in the past, great! Failure is a normal part of the learning process of life. Thank your failures for the lessons and then let them go.

Accept and learn from your past, but don’t live there, because it doesn’t dictate your future in any way unless you allow it to. If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you will get what you’ve always gotten.

It’s easy to feel shitty when things don’t go your way, but if you want to truly succeed as an entrepreneur you have to use pain as motivation, and develop the mindset and the willpower to keep pushing despite the obstacles that stand in your way.

Use failure as a tool for growth and change. It has the ability to propel you forward and prepare you for what lies ahead.

Being a successful entrepreneur doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long-term commitment, but the payoff is sweet. This is the best entrepreneur advice for beginners. I challenge you to start utilizing these skills in your business. The result? Business mastery.
