How would your life change if you could feel confident every day, without fail?

Without confidence, it's hard to achieve much of anything. Where a lot of people get stuck is that they listen to their inner critic.

You know that voice that tells you all of the reasons why you'll fail or why you're not good enough?

I've got great news! This voice isn't you. It's merely a conditioned part of you that can be changed. Even better, you can transform your inner critic into your inner ally.

Confidence is a state of mind, meaning that it can be developed.

If you're ready to feel confident every day, you'll want to keep reading…

On a scale from 1-10, how confident are you?

The quality of your thoughts determines how you feel about yourself. According to the National Science Foundation, an average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, 80% are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts. Crazy, right? If confidence doesn't come naturally to you, its time to reflect upon how you speak to yourself on a daily basis.

I'm not saying that it's easy to wake up every morning feeling unstoppable, but it is possible. If you commit to flexing your self-belief muscle, you can feel confident every day. However, keep in mind that nobody is born confident. Confidence is something that you condition and create with practice.

The moment that you start doubting yourself is the moment that you have to change your state. One of the best ways to take back control of your day and your life is to create an empowering morning ritual. Every successful person in the world has one. Taking time every single morning to nourish your mind, body and soul is an act of radical self-love. If you don't make yourself a priority, everything else in your life will suffer.

By proactively putting yourself in a powerful state from the get-go, you set yourself up to win. You'll be in a better frame of mind to handle any challenges that you encounter throughout the day. The go-to confidence ritual that I practice every day is reciting incantations.

These are empowering phrases that you verbalize using your entire body. Incantations are about embodying the meaning behind the words. This is how you reprogram your mind and cultivate new and empowering beliefs.

In this proactive state, taking action is effortless.

Challenges become opportunities. Failure becomes feedback. Whatever emotional state that you choose to live in on a consistent basis becomes your default way of being. I used to be a shy and anxious kid. That was a state of being that I conditioned every day by engaging in behaviors that were enabling my shyness.

It's fair to say I had zero confidence or belief in my abilities. I knew that if I wanted to be a more confident person, I needed to practice being confident, even though it felt uncomfortable to do so. Doing hard things builds resilience.

It is what has allowed me to overcome my greatest insecurities in life and build the self-confidence that I have today. If your life feels like it's limited right now, it's only because you're limiting your mind to what is possible. Another effective tool for boosting confidence and training your brain to be unstoppable is to create a daily visualization ritual.

Close your eyes and envision what it would look like and feel like to have unshakeable confidence. Reflect upon a time when you felt really confident. Put yourself back in that place. Imagine all the details. The more you repeat a thought or a feeling, the sooner it becomes a belief, a part of who you are.

The next time you're in a similar situation where you desire to have more confidence, anchor yourself back to that confident experience you once had, and recreate those confident feelings. You'll be amazed at how quickly your emotional state will change.

Are you ready to feel confident every day?

Here's the hard truth – if you don't believe in yourself then nobody is going to believe in you. Believing in yourself doesn't have to be hard. Make it a ritual to show up for yourself every day. Flex your belief muscle on a consistent basis and watch your entire life change before your eyes.

In Steve Jobs' Stay Hungry Stay Foolish commencement speech to the Stanford class of 2005, he said – “For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today? ‘ And whenever the answer has been ‘No' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”

If today was the last day of your life, would you want to feel how you're feeling right now? Your answer may be the very thing that sets you free.

Your dreams won't happen unless you make them happen.

Choosing who you want to be and what you want to do in life is only one half of the puzzle. Dreams don't magically come true. Success requires effort. You've got to be willing to put in the hard work if you want to achieve your goals in life. Until you are committed to your dreams, you will keep coming up short.

Think about it… if you are working towards a goal, but don't have a plan in place for how you will achieve it, your efforts will be thwarted. Harvey MacKay put it best when he said, “A dream is just a dream, a goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.”

It's time to get real with yourself… how bad you want success? In my experience, a lot of people only want to achieve their dreams if it's convenient and easy. They may have a desire to achieve something, but their commitment to doing whatever it takes is missing. Unfortunately, this isn't how success works.

Success demands that you have an unwavering commitment to excellence and a commitment to persevere, despite the obstacles that life may throw your way. I have never met an incredibly successful person who didn't have laser-sharp focus and the determination to succeed, despite all odds. Giving up was and will never be an option for them.

If you want something bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to get it.

However, if you don't believe that it's possible to manifest your dream lifestyle, then your determination to succeed will only take you so far. You can have anything that you want in life if you believe that anything is possible.

This is why self-belief is everything. Your life is shaped by your beliefs. The story that you tell yourself about who you are and what you're capable of is the one thing that determines your success in life.

What is your story? A toxic narrative is a recipe for disaster. When you say things like, “I don't deserve success” or “I'm not smart enough” or “Good things never happen to me” you send a message to the Universe asking for more of that which you are focusing on.

You attract what you think. Doubts, fears, and limiting beliefs only hold you back from stepping into your greatness. I know for a fact that nothing in your life will change unless you are willing to change. Sometimes you've got to hit your emotional threshold before you're ready to adopt this mindset and fully let go of your fears and limiting beliefs.

The real work lies in reprogramming your disempowering belief systems so that you can create more of what it is that you want. When it comes to building your dreams, think of it as if you're planting a seed. Seeds take time to grow, so too do the rewards from your efforts. Those seeds won't sprout for awhile. Just like an entire garden doesn't sprout overnight, neither will your dreams.

There is no easy road to success.

If there was, everyone would be successful. This is why you must learn how to fall in love with the process, rather than fixating on the results. This mindset is what will help you crush your goals and create the life of your wildest dreams. At the end of the day, the difference between success and failure is the quality of your inner game.

When you encounter challenges on the road to success, don't give up when things get tough. If you can't find a way, make a way! You've got nothing to lose, so go all-in and refuse to play it safe. The biggest risks in life can lead to the biggest rewards, but you will never know unless you try.

Your dreams are your source of motivation.

If you want big results in life, you have to be willing to make big changes. Right now is a new opportunity for you to change your life.  Commit to your dreams. Your future self will thank you for it.

What will you commit to doing this week to move the needle forward towards making your dreams a reality?

The post From Broke To Financial Freedom | Money Motivation appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

I went from being broke to achieving financial freedom.

If you've ever been broke, you know how much of a toll it can take on your mental and emotional health.

A study found that high amounts of debt are associated with higher rates of stress and depression. If you're struggling financially right now, there is hope.

How would your life change if you never had to worry about money again? Ultimately, pursuing financial freedom is about making a decision that you are no longer willing to accept the status quo.

All in all, nothing in your life will change unless you are willing to change. If you're ready to take ownership of your finances, save for your future, and design your dream life, let's dive in!

Watch the video below:

If you don't want to be broke anymore, listen to this.

There was once a time in my life when I was broke and in a lot of credit card debt. My financial situation got so bad that I had to live on my friend's couch for a year. That was painful. Eventually, I was able to dig my way out of the financial hole that I got myself in. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't easy.

The road to financial freedom was a trek that I was willing to take because the alternative was too painful to bear. The only reason why I was in debt, to begin with, was because of the poor money decisions that I made. It wasn't until I took responsibility for my choices that I felt empowered to change my financial situation. The question is, “How did I go from broke to financial freedom?” It started with changing my money beliefs.

It must be remembered that you cannot create long-term wealth if you don't have a healthy relationship with money. What are your money beliefs? If you feel like there is never enough money or you're fearful to spend money, I hate to break it to you but you have a scarcity mindset.

The first step to shifting from a scarcity to an abundance mindset is to acknowledge why you are struggling financially.

Keep in mind that the root of your money fears can be traced back to childhood. For this reason, reflect upon the ways in which your money mindset was shaped by your early financial experiences. To clarify, if a child witnesses their parents struggle with money, they end up associating money with fear and lack. As the child grows up and becomes an adult, their money blueprint controls every financial decision that they make.

Secondly, you need to do the work to reprogram your money script. Replace disempowering, conditioned messages about money with more empowering ones that focus on financial abundance. In reality, if you don't commit to rewriting limiting beliefs that are holding you back, you will end up finding ways to sabotage your success.

None of the above will be possible if you don't take full responsibility for your life and your choices. If you're struggling and broke right now, it's time to humble yourself. You cannot blame the economy, the government, your ex-partner, or your business partner for your financial problems. The more that you deflect blame elsewhere, the more powerless you will feel.

Generally speaking, sometimes it takes hitting your emotional threshold before you're ready to change your financial situation. That's what happened to me. One day I woke up and I was tired of being broke. In particular, the mental and physical toll that it was having on my life was overwhelming.

I made a decision that I would never be broke again and I committed to making smart decisions with my money. Today, I'm financially free and have been able to design life, on my terms. It's possible. Keep in mind that everyone starts somewhere, so get real with yourself…

Are you ready to transition from broke to financial freedom?

Again, if you are currently struggling financially, decide today that you are going to start reprogramming your limiting beliefs about money. Your beliefs shape your success in life. If you commit to releasing your mental blocks associated with money and wealth, financial freedom is yours for the taking.

I encourage you to feel the fear and do it anyway.

If you're afraid of something, you're not alone. Everyone is fearful of something.

Unfortunately, we live in a fear-driven society where we are bombarded by messages telling us that the world is a dangerous place.

As a result, we become paralyzed by fear and fail to take action.

Are you ready to discover how you can conquer fear and realize your true potential in life?

Fear can be a crippling emotion.

When I was young, I lived in a state of constant fear. I didn't feel like I had control over anything in my life. It wasn't until I started getting intimate with my fears, that I soon realized how I could overcome them. I learned that fear could be my ally instead of my enemy.

In many ways, fear is a good thing. For thousands of years, it has served as a survival mechanism, keeping us safe from danger. Unfortunately, many of the fears that people experience today are irrational. As an acronym, F.E.A.R. stands for false evidence appearing real.

Fear is something that your mind fabricates, which leads you to assume that it must be real. In turn, you hold yourself back from doing the things that you want to do. Fear is merely the anticipation of pain. Your brain wants to keep you in your comfort zone, so as to protect you from potential harm. A comfort zone is a safe place to be but nothing ever grows there.

To make sense of all of this, it's important to understand that your perception of the world is created by your mind. Alfred Korzybski beautifully illustrated the difference between belief and reality when he said,The map is not the territory meaning that reality exists outside our mind. However, we can construct models of this ‘territory' based on what we glimpse through our senses.

You have a life blueprint, otherwise known as your model of the world.

This is comprised of your ideas, knowledge, beliefs, values, and references. This map is your reality. However, it's not how things are. Rather, it's based on your interpretation of reality.

Does your model of the world serve you? Is your map getting you to where you want to go in life? If not, it's highly likely that you're playing it too safe. The reality is that everything that you've ever wanted, whether that's an attractive body, financial abundance, or an amazing partner – is on the other side of fear.

The person who you want to become and the life that you want to create is waiting for you, but you have to be willing to take a risk and do what others won't do. Don't hide from fear. Rather, practice acting in spite of it. More importantly, remember that being fearless doesn't mean that you're not scared. It merely means that you have chosen to transform fear into courage.

Are you ready to feel the fear and do it anyway?

The longer that you wait, the bigger your fear will become. Don't allow fear to hold you back from living life to the fullest.

Do you want to be a warning to others about how not to live or an example of what is possible? Peter McWilliams said it best – “To overcome fear, here’s all you have to do: realize the fear is there, and do the action you fear anyway.”

You can either face everything and rise or fear everything and run. The choice is yours.

No matter what you go through in life, you will never lose your value.

If I told you that I was going to give you a $20 dollar bill, would you take it? Most people would say, “Yes.”

What if I were to take that same $20 dollar bill and crumple it into a ball? Even worse, what if stomped it on the ground?

No matter what I may do with that bill, there is a huge likelihood that you would still want it because it did not lose or decrease its value.

There is an important lesson here about your own self-worth. Keep reading if you want to discover what that lesson is!

Feel like you've lost your worth or value as of late?

All of us have moments in our lives when we feel like life has crumpled us into a ball and knocked us down. When your life circumstances are dire, it's easy for your self-worth to dwindle. I think we can all agree that life is constantly testing our strength.

At the end of the day, it's up to you how you want to respond to challenges. You can either let challenges take control of your life, or you can rise up and become the master of your world. When I was younger, I had extremely low self-esteem. I didn't think I was good enough to do anything. Not surprisingly, every time that life knocked me down, I found it extremely difficult to stay positive.

Eventually, I hit my emotional threshold and decided that I no longer wanted to play the role of victim. Rather, I wanted to be the hero of my life story. How did I do this?

One of the best ways to take back control of your life when you are feeling low is to build healthy habits. By doing this, positive behaviors that may have once been challenging to carry out will eventually become automatic. I am who I am today because I did the work to reprogram my mind to think more empowering thoughts.

You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it. No matter what has happened to you thus far, or what will happen to you in the future, you can handle it. You will never lose your value or your worth. Dr. Lisa Firestone believes that self-worth should be less about measuring yourself based on external actions and more about valuing your inherent worth as a person. In other words, self-worth is about who you are, not about what you do.

You can never lose your value.

Dirty, clean, crumpled, or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who love you. If you have found yourself on the floor, get back up, dust yourself off and keep moving forward.

In the words of Albert Einstein, “Life is like a bicycle, to keep your balance, you must keep moving.” You are destined for greatness. Whatever you do, don't give up on yourself.

How bad do you want it? When it comes to success, you must ask yourself this question.

Success is never a matter of ability. It’s always a matter of motivation.

If you are willing to put in the hard work, you can be, do and have whatever you want in life. If you don’t try, you will never know how far you can go.

In the words of Ann Landers, “Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.”

Now is the time to get real with yourself. How bad do you want it?

How bad do you want success?

Success isn’t easy. If it was, everyone would be successful. However, the reality is that less than 1% of people achieve success. Paralyzed by fear, a lot of people get stuck in a downward spiral of overthinking, to the point where they take no action at all.

Psychologist Barry Schwartz coined the phrase Paradox of Choice to describe his consistent findings that, while increased choice allows us to achieve objectively better results, it also leads to greater anxiety, indecision, paralysis, and dissatisfaction. If you want results, you must take action. Nothing will work in your life unless you do.

Part of getting what you want in life is knowing what you must give up. It’s not, can you? Rather, it’s will you?

Will you invest in yourself?

How many sacrifices are you willing to make?

Will you trust the process?

If you aren’t willing to invest in yourself and make the down payments that are required for the betterment of your future, you’re not ready for success. I don’t care what your story is, what your challenges are, or what your current life circumstances are.

None of it defines who you are or what you are capable of achieving.

Some of the most successful people in this world started with nothing. They refused to give up on their dream because their mental strength was bigger than any obstacle. Instead, they stepped up, defied the odds, and dug their way out of rock bottom to create success, on their terms.

These people have paved the way for YOU. Let them be your source of inspiration along your personal journey towards success. If they did it, so can you. You can achieve anything that you set your mind to, but it starts and ends with believing that you can.

Visualize the life that you want. Close your eyes and imagine what would your dream lifestyle looks like. If you could get a taste of what this life would feel like, I guarantee that you would do whatever it took in order to manifest your dreams. I can’t give you this, but I can encourage you to never stop dreaming.

I’ve experienced many failures and struggles along my road to success. However, I wouldn’t change one thing about my story because it made me into the person who I am today. It’s important to realize that success is a process. It’s not what you get that matters. Rather, it’s who you become along the way. Success is yours for the taking.

How bad do you want it?

The journey that you are going to embark on will be challenging. No matter how hard it is, don’t quit. When you fall, get back up again and keep moving forward. Be a positive role model for others and serve as an example of what it possible.

Let me ask you one more time… how bad do you want it?

Hard times are a normal part of life. When you get hit with them, you can either fall down or rise up.

Everyone experiences highs and lows. However, some people cope better than others. In studies of people facing trauma, many describe their experience as a catalyst for profound change and transformation, leading to a phenomenon known as ‘post-traumatic growth.'

The most successful people in this world are those that have known defeat. They have been at rock bottom and have been able to make their way out of the depths of their own despair. These people were not born with this skill. Rather, they developed it over time. In doing so, they developed a greater appreciation for life.

Are you ready to learn how you can boost your resilience during hard times and come back stronger than ever before? As the old Japanese proverb states, “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”

Hard times are the key to a happy and healthy life.

This sounds counterintuitive, doesn't it? Not according to science. Recent research indicates that psychological flexibility is the key to greater happiness and well-being. For example, being open to emotional experiences and the ability to tolerate periods of discomfort can allow us to move towards a richer, more meaningful existence.

Sure, it's easy to feel like giving up when the world continues to throw you challenges. That being said, it's up to you how you are going to respond to life's setbacks. Struggling is a choice.

One of my favorite quotes about strength in hard times is by Joel Osteen, who said – “When you face difficult times, know that challenges aren't sent to destroy you. They're sent to increase and challenge you.”

If you are going through a difficult time in your life right now, I want you to know that you aren't alone. I've been there. We all have. I know what it feels like when your entire world turns upside down and you don't know where to turn.

I won't begin to claim that I understand your pain, because everyone has a different life story. That being said, I can share with you the knowledge that I have learned from my own experiences. I made it through the hard times in my life and so can you. You are still standing and there is a reason for that. Sometimes we all need a friendly reminder of how strong we really are.

Here are 5 ways that you can thrive through the hard times.

1. Accept That Hard Times Will Happen

Why is it so hard to accept that hard times are a part of life? Well, it's usually because our ego tells us that everything should be perfect. If life doesn't go our way, then we assume that there must be something wrong with us.

In her book, Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow, Elizabeth Lesser says that “When we resist change and loss, we bring more pain onto ourselves. We become hardened, angry, resentful.”

Accepting something doesn't mean that you have to like it. Rather, it simply means that you have made the choice to stop resisting it. Instead of forcing an outcome, you let go of control and embrace what is.

Randy Pausch is a shining example of this idea. Randy was a leading professor at Carnegie Mellon, a husband, and a father of 3. In 2007, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The doctors only gave him a few months to live. Instead of curling in a ball and giving up, he decided to accept his illness and live out his remaining time on earth in a positive and purposeful way.

In the words of Randy himself – “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”

If you have yet to watch his Last Lecture, I encourage you to do so.

2. Be Proactive

When hard times hit, it's the proactive people that are able to get through challenges with grace and ease. They don't allow struggles to define who they are because they refuse to be defeated. Nobody said that life would be a walk in the park. However, many of us are ill-prepared from an early age to get through hard times.

I know what rock bottom feels like. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. It was the beginning of me questioning everything that I ever thought was true.  I was faced, head on, with the disempowering belief systems that were keeping me locked away from living my life to the fullest.

Sometimes we need to hit our emotional threshold in order to light a fire under our butts and change our lives for the better. Every struggle in my life has shaped me into the person that I am today. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, but you've got to find it. Don't you want to become the CEO of your life?

Nobody is going to fix your problems for you. Rather, you need to take action and create the change that you want to see. You can learn about all the strategies in the world for getting through hard times, but none of them will matter unless you actually apply them in your life.

3. Have Faith

Hard times can challenge our faith if we allow them to. Hard times are, in actuality, hard. That being said, how we choose to approach these moments in our lives ends up determining whether or not we merely survive or thrive through life. Having an unshakeable faith in our strength is the answer, and it starts with gratitude.

Numerous studies have proven that when you adopt an attitude of gratitude, you are a happier person. However, when people are trying to get through the hard times, they usually don't reflect upon how grateful they are. Why?

Because challenges don't feel good. I get it. However, if you only rely on your anger and frustration to get you through the bad times, you won't do yourself any good. This mindset will only get you stuck in a negative spiral that will feel impossible to get out of. When we feel sorry for ourselves, we become a victim of our circumstances. This is no way to live.

Have you ever had an experience in life where something didn’t work out, but as a result, something better came from it? When you believe that everything is a blessing in disguise, that's exactly what the Universe gives to you. By adopting this positive perspective on life, it motivates you to view every challenge as an opportunity to grow and become more. Have faith that in yourself and in a better tomorrow. That alone will make the invisible, visible.

Nicole Reed said it best – “Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us.”

4. Focus on What You Can Control

If you think that you can control everything in your life, you are setting yourself up for failure. The harsh reality is that you have zero control over many of the things that happen in life. This is where people get into trouble. They think that if they can gain enough control over people or a situation, then they can prevent hard times from happening.

This is far from true.

When you are going through hard times, the natural response is to try and fix whatever it is that feels bad. However, the longer that you linger here, the more helpless that you will feel. We tend to forget that the only thing that we have control over is our inner world. It is your reaction to life that matters most. Two different people could experience the exact same challenge but have a drastically different response to it.

Attitude is everything. Hard times will happen throughout your life, but it is up to you how you will interpret them. You are always in control of your emotions, no matter how difficult the situation may be or feel. When you are able to change your reaction to people and events, don't be surprised if you see a massive shift take place in every area of your life.

5. Develop A Morning Ritual

Ever since I was 17 years old I've committed to a morning ritual. It is the most important part of my entire day because it is the time at which I prime myself for success. By conditioning my mindset, I am prepared to tackle whatever challenges may come my way. You may be wondering, “How is this possible?”

Well, when you take the time to engage in rituals like reciting positive affirmations or doing a meditation practice, you feel more positive and calm. When hard times hit, you are more equipped to handle them because you have done the work to master your emotional state.

Sure, some days I wouldn't mind sleeping in an extra hour, but I have committed to not getting caught up in these moments of pleasure because I know how good I feel when I stick with my routine. It helps to put me into an optimal state of mind. When I'm energized, focused and inspired, I feel unstoppable. It's as simple as that.

I'm not saying that I don't get frustrated when challenges occur. However, every time that I engage in my routine, I am making subtle mental and emotional shifts in how I think about life and hard times. As a result, when the shit hits the fan, I am prepared. Instead of freaking out, I make choices and decisions that serve my highest self.

I hope these words of encouragement for hard times have inspired you to keep moving forward.

We all face hard times. Ultimately, we all become stronger and wiser as a result. It comes down to adopting a positive mindset through every challenge that you face in life. Will it be easy? No. When we face difficulties, it's easy to get sucked into a negativity trap. However, this is the moment at which you need to believe in yourself and search for solutions that will allow you to weather the storm and come out the other side, happier and healthier.

In his final Rocky movie, Sylver Stallone says, “The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. But it ain’t how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It’s how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.”

Whatever you are going through, never forget that don't hard times don't last. This too shall pass and the skies will shine again. Until then, pull upon your inner strength and trust that you have everything inside of you in order to get through the hard times. You are stronger than you know.

The reason why you’re struggling and failing in life may surprise you.

Over the last few days, I’ve been interacting with hundreds of people through messages, comments and live chats on my website. These are people from all walks of life that have the desire to change and improve their lives. However, despite their best efforts, they can’t.

There’s a part of me that wants to say to these people, “Do you even know how amazing you are?!” Unfortunately, this is where a lot of people get stuck. They don't believe in themselves.

Over the last 6 years, it’s been my mission in life to serve as a positive example of the unlimited possibilities that life has to offer. I don’t want you to struggle for one day longer. I only want you to prosper and be happy.

Are you ready to receive some direct, honest, B.S.-free feedback for why you’re struggling and failing in your life?

Do you know why you’re struggling and failing in life?

If so, you aren't alone. A lot of people don't have the answer why, which makes it more confusing. It’s natural to feel frustrated or disappointed when things don’t go your way.

I assume that you are reading this blog because you want to change something in your life and that’s great! Change of any kind starts with a single step. I want to offer a new perspective on why you’re struggling and failing life.

Many of us have been fed a lot of bullshit. I am here to give you direct, B.S.-free feedback so that you can take your life to the next level. This is my chance to finally give you a big dose of truth! As always, my intention is to serve you.

I create my content with the purpose of helping you save time, stress, and money so that you can get to where you want to go a lot faster. I’m a big believer that if you want to see different results in your life, then you need to become hyper-aware of how your thoughts and beliefs are impacting your actions.

According to research, our brains can produce up to 50,000 thoughts a day, and 99% percent of these thoughts are repeated daily. Your thoughts become your beliefs, which is why it’s so important you are conscious of how you speak to yourself.

Unfortunately, a lot of people fall victim to limiting beliefs. They say things like, “I can’t because I don’t have time” or “I can’t because I don't have money.” These self-limiting beliefs are just perceptions. As long as they remain unchallenged, they will continue to shape the decisions that you make.

You can have all the desire in the world to change your life, but if you don’t have the unwavering belief that you will achieve the outcome that you desire, you are fighting a losing battle.

We all have emotional blind spots. Most of them are based on assumptions and false perceptions that we make about ourselves and the world. These are things that we refuse to acknowledge about ourselves because we may not like what we see. Instead of identifying and questioning why it is that they feel a certain way, people just accept things as true.

The result? Self-sabotaging patterns of behavior. As Warren Buffett says, “What the human being is best at doing is interpreting all new information so that their prior conclusions remain intact.” This is one of the many reasons why a coach or a mentor is so important.

They can help you understand what your emotional blind spots are so that you feel empowered to overcome your obstacles.

I want to share 4 possible reasons for why you’re failing and struggling in your life.

1. Close-Mindedness

If you are skeptical and don’t believe that something is possible for you, you won’t be able to change your life. I share a lot of advice and opportunities online, but I find that a lot of people never take action.

They hold back and tell themselves stories like, “Maybe this won’t work for them”, or “Maybe it’s a scam.” Even worse, they question themselves or other people. At the end of the day, it’s a mechanism that people use to protect themselves.

Oftentimes, it’s based on fear. When you’ve been disappointed in the past and experienced pain or rejection, it’s easy to put up emotional barriers and become closed off to new opportunities in life.

Soon, you get to a point of learned helplessness where you believe that nothing will ever work for you. Research on what is known as learned helplessness has shown that when people feel like they have no control over what happens, they tend to simply give up and accept their fate.

You could have the perfect opportunity in front of you, but you don’t even see it because you have become so close-minded. It’s better to have gone for something 100% than to play it safe and stay in your comfort zone. Don't look back on your life with regret.

Nobody wants to live with “what ifs.”

Embracing change is essential to growing as an individual and becoming the best version of yourself. If you’re struggling and failing in your life, you need to listen to the people that are more successful than you. Why? Because what you’ve been doing hasn’t worked.

Eben Pagan recently wrote a book called, “Opportunity.” This is a man that has made a big difference in my life. I was so excited to speak with him because he’s one of my biggest mentors. He had a book launch and gave away his book, for free, to my audience. All they had to do was pay for the shipping costs.

One person made a comment and said, “The reason why he’s giving away his book, for free, is so that he can get my email address and sell me his other products.” Some people are skeptical because they think that someone is just trying to make money from them. This is an example of close-mindedness.

People like myself and Eben have online businesses. Just like anyone else, we need to support ourselves, which means selling our products and services so that can continue our mission in life. Do I want you to become a customer? Of course! I strive to provide as much content and value for free as I possibly can.

However, there comes a point when I need to sell something. If you don’t buy anything from me, that’s okay. You can still get tremendous value from everything that I provide online. If you adopt a skeptical mindset, you will stay stuck in one place. I encourage you to always be open to new opportunities.

When you can drop your ego, open your mind, and humble yourself, you start the process of changing your life. I can’t help anyone unless they are willing to help themselves.

2. Not Asking For Help

Oftentimes, not asking for help stems from people thinking that they either have all of the answers, they are too embarrassed to reach out, or they want to fix all of their problems on their own.

When you are so caught up in that story, you don't move forward. It comes back to approaching life as a student. The worst 3 words in the human vocabulary are, “I know that.” You have to be open to learning and growing as much as you can.

I know that I don’t have all the answers. I understand that if I’m stuck, I need to ask for help from someone that has been where I want to go.

A series of studies reveals that people tend to grossly underestimate how likely others are to agree to requests for assistance. Frank Flynn, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at Stanford Business School says that “People are more willing to help than you think, and that can be important to know when you’re trying to get the resources you need to get a job done.”

I always say to myself, “Who are the people that have already achieved what it is that I want?” I don’t want to go through years of unnecessary pain, frustration, and adversity. That's a waste of my time, energy, and money.

You don’t have to go down this road but, for some reason, people still choose this path.

This is why experts create amazing courses so that you can learn from their failures and mistakes. That knowledge is there for a reason – it’s there to guide you on the most efficient path to success and help you fast-track the process. That’s called working smart, not hard.

Would you rather go through 10 years of blood, sweat, and tears, like I did, or pay a couple thousand dollars to accelerate your learning process? It’s a no-brainer. When you pay for something, you will value it so much more.

Let me give you a real-life example. When I was 18 years old, the first seminar that I ever went to was facilitated by a man named Dan Perrion. I wanted to change my dating life. It was a $500 seminar. I had the desire to invest in myself because I wanted to change my life.

I applied his knowledge to my life and I received massive results from that learning experience. Because I paid for it, I received so much more value than I ever would have if I had just watched some videos on YouTube. The more you pay, the more that you pay attention.

The old adage, “Ask and you shall receive” works wonders. I encourage you to try it. Reach out for help or pay for it. Whatever it takes in order to change your life.

3. Invest In Yourself

I’m a big believer in the power of investing in yourself. People say that they are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve success, but then they quit when things get tough. These people are called dabblers. They only want something if it’s convenient and if it falls into their lap.

If you want to grow and evolve, you need to be willing to invest money into your learning and development. When people tell me that they don’t have time, money, or the skillset to do something, I know that all of those things are just excuses. They are limiting beliefs that your mind tells you that prevent you from taking action.

Nothing of value comes easy in life.

Ask yourself this question – “How committed are you to achieving the goal that you desire?” If you have a million reasons why you can’t do something, then you aren’t ready. The reality is that, if you want something bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to get it.

You will sacrifice time and money because it will be a “must” for you, as Tony Robbins says. This is the mindset of a master. When they can’t find a way, they make a way. How do you expect to be successful if you aren’t even resourceful enough to come up with the time or money to be able to invest in something? The two don’t go together.

Instead of saying, “I can’t afford this”, ask yourself, “What can I do in order to afford it?” Don’t allow your limiting beliefs to control your life. A lot of people get stuck in their stories. Fear ends up overpowering their desire. Your desire has to be greater than any limitation.

I am where I am today because I invested in myself. It wasn’t a walk in the park. I had so many moments when I cried and felt like giving up.

I’ve been at rock bottom. I know what that feels like.

I'm reminded of a story from Seinfeld, in particular, the episode of Andrea Doria. They are giving an apartment to an old guy who is a survivor of a shipwreck accident. All of sudden George Costanza says, “Well, they haven’t heard my story.” He sits down with the board of the strata and he shares all of the struggles that he went through. By the end of it, everyone is crying and they say to him, “You can have the apartment because you went through something WAY worse than what this other guy went through.”

All of the challenges that I went through ended up being blessings. Who I am today and what I have is the result of what I’ve been able to come back from. I’m so grateful for the difficult times because they challenged me. I went 3 years without making any money online. Did I give up? Hell no.

My belief and my desire were so much greater than my fears. I kept my purpose alive. I knew that I would never settle for anything less than I could be, do, have, create, or give. I found the way, and I’m damn proud. In the words of Les Brown, “Our ability to handle life's challenges is a measure of our strength of character.”

I was willing to try anything if it meant that it would get me one step closer to achieving my goals in life. I always had a sense of positive expectancy. I believed that at any given moment, I could experience a breakthrough moment, whether it was the next book that I read or the course that I took. I was always open to learning more.

When people said that something could change my life, I took action. I didn’t doubt them or hold back.

Change can be scary, but I encourage you to be more afraid of what your life will be like if you DON'T change. Let your fears propel you forward, instead of holding you back. Your life isn’t going to change just by watching a video or listening to a podcast. Today has to be different than yesterday. That’s how things change.

Switch it up! If it means investing in a course that is going to take your life to the next level, take a leap of faith and do it. You’ve got nothing to lose.

4. Not Taking Action

You can invest in yourself and know a lot about something, but if you don’t do anything with the knowledge, it’s useless. A lot of people get stuck in analysis paralysis.

Psychologist Barry Schwartz coined the phrase “Paradox of Choice” to describe his consistent findings that, “While increased choice allows us to achieve objectively better results, it also leads to greater anxiety, indecision, paralysis, and dissatisfaction.”

From my experience, it’s not that the strategies don’t work. Rather, it’s the individual that doesn’t work. The difference between people who succeed or fail is a mindset. Nothing works unless you work. You have to apply what you learn.

This may require that you review the same knowledge again and again in order to really understand it. As Zig Ziglar says, “Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment.”

This is the secret to developing habits of success.

There are 3 levels of mastery that you need to pay attention to — knowing, doing, and living. Knowing is not enough, because you can know what to do, but not do what you know The real value is doing it and making sure that you are living it every day. When you do so, it becomes a part of who you are.

I’ve been to the Tony Robbins’ seminar, Unleash the Power Within, 7 times now. There are certain things that he shared that I didn’t take action with the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time. However, the 4th time I finally committed to doing it. It took me paying all of that money in order to finally get it.

The doing part is what changed my life forever. Those experiences were worth every penny because the outcome was so sweet.

A lot of people don’t understand how much action you need to take in order to succeed at something. Any goal requires patience, sacrifice, hard work, commitment, and discipline. If it was easy, everybody would be successful. I welcome challenges because they allow me to become more. If it wasn’t for the adversity that I have faced, I wouldn’t have learned what I have learned, and I wouldn’t have developed my emotions and mindset the way that it is now.

If you’re struggling and failing in your life, it doesn’t mean that you aren’t good enough.

It means that you are going through a lot of growth. Shift your mindset around it. It may not feel good, but trust that it is taking you somewhere. Look for the lessons, and don’t stop until you embrace the blessings.

Today is an opportunity for you to change your life and go to a whole new level IF you allow it to. The alternative is to stay stuck, and that’s not a fun place to be. Sometimes you need to hit rock bottom in order to decide that it’s time to get off the bench and into the game of life. It will require you to do the opposite of anything that you’ve ever done before.

What if you decided to change your life and it worked? How would that feel?

When you focus on the unlimited potential that resides inside of you, that’s when life becomes a lot more exciting. I don’t want you to struggle for one more day. I hope my words have spoken to your heart, mind, and spirit. Hopefully, this moment of truth has penetrated through any barrier or limitation that has held you back in the past.

Today is a new day and a new opportunity to write a new chapter in your life.

Will it be easy? No. Will it be worth it? Absolutely!

Are you tired of living someone else's dream? If you've always had aspirations of being your own boss, and find yourself dreading going to work every day, it's time to start building your own dream.

Why? Because life is too short not to do what you love. You are meant to do great things in this world.

Oftentimes people get stuck in their 9-5 jobs because of fear that they will fail. Having a dream is great, but nothing will ever come of it if you don't create goals and take action.

How would it feel to wake up every day with a smile on your face, knowing that you are making a difference in the world AND living your passion?

In the words of Tony Gaskins, “If you don’t build your dream, someone will hire you to help build theirs.” If this is your reality, it's time to make a change, and start creating YOUR future today!

I'm not suggesting that you quit your day job today and start a business tomorrow. Building a business is a long-term investment that takes hard work, commitment, time, patience, and grit.

A lot of people give up in the beginning stages when they don't see an immediate reward from their efforts; but if you stick with it, the payoff is beautiful.

Entrepreneurship is the key to financial freedom and living the life of your dreams.

What are you waiting for?

Here are three warning signs that may be proof your dreams are not your own.

1. Your Job Doesn't Align With Your Core Values

If your job doesn't motivate you to get out of bed every morning, there is a chance that it isn't aligned with your core life values.

What do you value? Does your current job allow you to focus on your core values? If not, it's time to start rethinking what is most important to you.

When you are aligned with your work you are connected to something that is meaningful to you. Something that allows you to fulfill your heart's desire. When this happens, it doesn't feel like work, because you are doing what you love.

As author Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic explains in his book, The Talent Delusion: Why Data, Not Intuition, Is the Key to Unlocking Human Potential, “When people pick jobs that fulfill basic psychological needs, motives, and values, they immerse themselves more in their work, experience higher levels of job satisfaction, and their productivity rises.”

This is the beauty of creating a business that is yours; it gives you the freedom to design your life in a way that aligns with your core values.

2. You Work Feels Meaningless

We spend a large portion of our lives working, so it is important that we engage in work that is meaningful. Unfortunately, for most, lack of meaning is the norm.

More than 40 years of research shows that people struggle to find meaning when they lack autonomy, variety, challenge, and the chance to work on a whole product or service from start to finish.

This is where the luxury of having your own business comes into play, in that you have the intellectual and emotional freedom to create meaning behind every product and service that you deliver.

When you do work that makes a difference in the lives of others, you experience a sense of fulfillment and happiness that far outweighs a paycheck. As Viktor Frankl wrote in his book, Man's Search For Meaning, “Suffering ceases to be suffering once it finds a meaning.”

The secret to true happiness and success in life is being able to wake up every day and live your purpose. If you haven't found it yet, don't stop. Are you tired of living someone else's dream? Don't just strive for a job. Dream bigger.

3. You Are Fearful Of Not Living Up To Others' Expectations

Whose life are you living? Is it one that you intentionally created for yourself, or is it based on the inflated expectations of others? If you follow someone else's path, you will end up living a life of regret. If you can relate to this, great!

This means that you have the awareness of what brought you to where you are now, and the courage to change it. If you have found yourself in someone else's story, it's time to re-write it.

Take responsibility for your life, stop seeking approval from others, and live your own dreams. There is great freedom in letting go of the expectations of others and living in alignment with who you are.

Are you tired of living someone else's dream? If so, it's time to stop and build your own! Write down your life's vision, purpose, and goals. Then start taking steps, every day, towards creating the life that you desire.

If you don’t have a plan for your life, you will be a part of someone else’s.

In the words of the late Steve Jobs, “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.
