Amazon book publishing was how I got my first taste of success.

Before I discovered book publishing, I was a dating coach. When I was 21 years old, I started my first company called Lifestyle Transformations. I coached thousands of men on how to build confidence so that they could attract a partner into their lives.

Even though I loved my work, it was challenging to market my business and find clients. On top of that, I was trading my time for money. Therefore, there weren't a lot of opportunities to scale my business.

When I discovered the world of Internet marketing and learned about passive income, the game changed. Instead of helping just one person, I realized that I could take my knowledge, package it into an information product and sell it on the Internet.

With this route, I quickly learned that there was no limit to how many people I could reach. One of the first products I ever created was a dating eBook called Creating Success With Women. Inside the book, I shared my story and different strategies that I was teaching through my 1:1 coaching. I spent a year writing that book. 

At the time, I didn't know about Amazon book publishing. I put my book together as a PDF and published it on my website. At first, I tried to sell my book to my clients.  I made a couple hundred bucks from it, but it wasn't life-changing money. However, it proved that publishing books online could be a viable passive income stream. 

I came across Amazon book publishing while trying to figure out how I could make money online through blogging and affiliate marketing. I would write high-quality articles that promoted affiliate products.

To be honest, I never thought that I could make a lot of money from Amazon.

I thought that I could make more money selling my books on my website. Amazon is a search engine. People type in keywords and look for products and books. The only difference between Amazon and Google is that people go to Google to look for free information, while people go to Amazon to buy products. 

I decided to take all of my blog content, compile that knowledge into a series of eBooks, and publish them on Amazon. I soon realized that it was easier to rank a book on Amazon than it was on Google. Surprisingly, I started making money right away.

To make the publishing process easier and scale my business faster, I hired ghostwriters via Upwork.com to write my books. Also, I found designers on Fiverr.com to create book covers for me. During this process, my goal was to experiment and gain a lot of experience in a variety of niches.

I published over 100 books. That was my introduction to Amazon book publishing.  Over the years, the popularity of Amazon has exploded. More people buy and use Amazon than ever. As such, the potential to make money on Amazon is much greater.

However, Amazon has become more competitive in the sense that there are more book publishers. The good news is that Amazon's platform has grown over the years. Today, they have a lot more tools and analytics to help you succeed.

I want to share with you a few strategies for making money by publishing books on Amazon. Let's dive in!

Strategy #1 – Build A Book Publishing Business 

With this strategy, you're creating and publishing books in a certain niche or a variety of different niches. The goal is to make passive income from your books. If you love writing, you can write books yourself.

However, when you're writing a book yourself, it will slow down how many books you can publish because everything is dependent on you. Conversely, you can just focus on publishing and marketing your books. By hiring a ghostwriter you own 100% of the rights to your books.

You have the right to publish your books with whatever name you want. Also, you collect 100% of the profits from your sales. The goal of scaling in a business is that you want to work ON your business instead of IN it. In my opinion, this is how to work smart.

Kindle books are a growing market. A lot of people prefer reading eBooks instead of paperback books. That being said, the biggest market is paperback and hardcover books. There's also a growing market for audiobooks, especially with the emergence of podcasting.

Keep in mind that you get paid differently on each platform. You can make the most money with paperback books. Realistically, you can charge anywhere between $20-$30. Conversely, with Kindle books, you can only charge between $2.99 and $9.99.

You want to consider publishing all three – Kindle, paperback, and audiobook.

A lot of books on Amazon might make you a couple hundred or a couple thousand bucks per month. However, it's hard to make a full-time income from publishing books. Nonetheless, it can be life-changing for some people to make some extra passive income. 

Strategy #2 – Use Your Book To Generate Leads On The Backend

If you don't care as much about the money that you make from a book on the front end, you can use your book as a way to generate leads. If you have a call to action inside of your book, you can funnel people into the product or service that you want to promote on the backend.

A book can be looked at as a form of in-depth content that builds a relationship with people. If your content adds massive value, a percentage of people who buy your book may become customers.

For example, I published a book called 67 Morning Ritual Habits on Amazon. In my business, one of my niches is morning rituals. Back in 2012, I published a video on YouTube that went viral.

I decided to publish a book and made a list of everything that I do for my mind, body, and spirit as part of my morning ritual. I worked with a ghostwriter who wrote about these 67-morning ritual habits.

At the end of my book, I have a call to action that takes people to my website where they can buy my Morning Ritual Mastery course if they want to. Also, inside my book, I share links to affiliate resources and products that I use as part of my morning ritual.

My goal is to get as many people as possible to buy and read my book to acquire customers. A book is a great way to build your credibility and your brand. Tips To Make Money on Amazon KDP

1. Identify Your Niche

If you want to tap into Amazon's search engine, you must do research to make sure that there is a high enough demand for the book that you want to publish. Also, you want to look at the other books that show up and see their Amazon Best Seller Ranking. This will help you determine how much money they are making.

If you publish a book that nobody is searching for on Amazon, you won't make money from it. There are keyword research tools like KDSPY that can help you determine how profitable a niche is. 

Keep in mind that you should market your book outside of Amazon. You've got to build your marketing channel to funnel people into your book. If you do that, Amazon can simply be a platform where you sell your book, and then drive traffic to your book elsewhere.

2. Design An Eye-Catching Title & Cover

You can have a great book in a great niche, but if your title and cover don't grab people's attention, they won't click on your listing. Your Amazon listing is like an advertisement.

A big mistake that people make is that they don't test their title and cover. I like to create three different covers to see which one converts best. I do the same thing with the book title and the price. You need to constantly test, track and optimize. 

3. Write A High-Quality Short Book

When I first started publishing books on Amazon I thought that a book had to be 300 pages long. This is what stops a lot of people from starting. What people don't realize is that you can write a book that's 30-50 pages long and it can still be high in value.

This is a smart strategy in the short term because it allows you to see whether or not your book is selling. If it does, you can go back, make it longer and charge more money. A lot of books that have impacted my life were shorter in length. The best way to perfect a book is to publish something short, get feedback and refine your book over time. 

4. Master Marketing 

If you master marketing, you can sell anything online. The most important skill is getting people's attention, whether that's through running advertisements or creating content. My main skill has been creating content. When I have people's attention I always make sure that I over-deliver.

When you consistently add value to people they will naturally want to buy from you. There are many ways to market your book. You want to utilize what Amazon gives you, which is Amazon search and Amazon ads.

However, what will help you rank in Amazon search is marketing outside of Amazon. Amazon wants you to promote Amazon and help them make more money and get more customers. If you have a money-making book, Amazon will rank your book high in the search results because that book is making them money. In effect, if you scratch their back, they'll scratch your back.

This is how to make money publishing books with Amazon KDP in 2022.

This is a great business model. Look at it for what it is. Don't expect to make millions of dollars from it. Rather, think of it as a passive income stream that can generate leads for your business while building your credibility. It's a win-win.

However, not everyone is willing to do what is required to achieve success. If you are ready to go all-in, I want to share 3 things that you need to think about before starting your entrepreneurial journey. If the concept of making money online is new for you, it may feel like it's too good to be true.

I know that's how I felt when I read the book The 4 Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss. Most of us have grown up in environments where we've been conditioned to believe that success means going to university to get a 9 to 5 job. The expectation is that when we're 65 years old, we'll finally be able to retire and enjoy life.

The Internet has transformed the way that people work. In today's digital world, there are endless opportunities to make money online from the comfort of your home. If you are ready to start designing life on your terms, let's dive into 3 things that will help fast-track your entrepreneurial success.

1. Get Clear On What You Want 

You need to get clear on what you want out of an online business and why you want to build one. First and foremost, you must identify which business model is the best opportunity for you to pursue.

There are endless opportunities to make money online, so much so that it can be overwhelming to choose one. However, you will have a higher probability of success if you pursue the right one for you. Knowing which business model is most in alignment with your goals/values will save you a lot of failures.

How much money do you want to make online? If you want to make 7-figures per year, there are specific opportunities that will help you achieve that goal. However, if you just want to make some extra money on the side, the direction that you take will look very different.

What kind of lifestyle do you want to live? Do you want to make active income or passive income? Active income requires that you trade your time for money, whereas passive income requires little work or no active involvement to generate ongoing revenue.

Don't get me wrong… you can still make a lot of money as an influencer, a YouTuber, or a coach. However, if your goal is to become financially free, you want to focus on earning passive income. 

What is your long-term vision?

When you start a business you want to get clear on your long-term vision. There are a lot of people online who sell get-rich-quick schemes. Don't be seduced by these false promises. Instead, adopt a long-term mentality and strive to build a passive income stream that will scale and grow over many years to come. 

2. Identify Your Niche

An entrepreneur is someone who gets paid to solve people's problems at a profit. It's your job to identify which demographic of people you want to serve. When it comes to identifying your niche, start by writing down a list of skills, areas of expertise, or passions that you have.

If you have a passion for whatever niche your business is in, you'll be more motivated. In turn, you'll be able to grow and scale your business faster. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? What is it about these activities that make you come alive inside? Answering these questions will help you determine what you're passionate about. 

If you try to build a business that you don't have any interest in, you'll lose momentum. This is why a lot of people give up too quickly. From my experience, money is not the best long-term motivator.

I recommend choosing a business opportunity that is in alignment with the vision that you have for your life. This is why I decided to build Project Life Mastery. I love personal growth and development and I wanted an outlet where I could share and help others.

My work fulfills my needs at the deepest level. That is something that money cannot buy. If you can align your passion with your work, you'll have a huge competitive advantage.

Once you've decided on your niche, research entrepreneurs who have already built successful businesses in the niche that you've chosen. Learn from their experiences and model their success. 

3. Find An Online Course Or Coach

I recommend that you find cutting-edge courses or a coach that can help you build your business the right way. You want to get access to the best strategies that will give you a roadmap to success.

This is how I have learned how to build an online business. I would not have achieved the success that I have today if I tried to learn everything on my own. To be honest, I probably would have given up. I used whatever money that I had to invest in the right training and education.

Yes, you can build a business through trial and error and figure everything out on your own. However, taking this route will cost you a lot of time and energy. On top of that, it will be very challenging. This is why a lot of people end up giving up on their business altogether. 

Building a business is like going into the jungle and trying to find the treasure. You know a treasure exists. However, if you don't have a map, it will be really difficult to find the treasure. You'll likely get lost and run into a lot of dead ends. Eventually, you may find the treasure but it will probably take a lot of time.

On the other hand, what if I told you that I could give you a map to help you navigate your way through the jungle?

You'll be guided down the right path so that you don't take any wrong turns. Even better, imagine that you had a guide that walked you through the jungle to find the treasure. Which option would you choose? I think the answer is obvious. 

If you want to make money online, do these 3 things first.

These 3 things will require that you are laser-focused, committed, and determined. If you take action on them and adopt a long-term vision, you will set yourself up for entrepreneurial success.

Quitting my 9 to 5 job when I was in my early 20s and deciding to build an online business was the BEST decision I've ever made. I've been an entrepreneur for over 15 years now and I've been helping people build online businesses for 10 years.

I have built a multi-million dollar online business doing what I love and I want to share with you exactly what I did to achieve the success that I have today.

Whether you want to earn a side income or build a business that gives you financial freedom, the 7 business models that I'm going to share with you will help you achieve your desired lifestyle. I have personally made money with all of 7 of these business models.

Let me be clear that these are not the only ways to make money online. There are countless options that you can pursue. These are the best and most proven.

As I explain each business model, I encourage you to make note of which one stands out to you. One business model may be more suitable for you, based on your skills, experience, or the amount of money that you currently have.

That being said, you can be successful with ANY of the 7 business models that I talk about. However, it will come down to your capacity to implement, execute and take massive action. Nothing will work unless YOU do the work. On that note, let's dive in!

1. Freelancing 

Since the onset of the pandemic, a lot of companies have transitioned their businesses online. They are looking to hire people from all over the world. Being a freelancer is when you operate as an independent contractor and provide a service for other companies online.

Freelance services may include things like graphic design, copywriting, data entry, or customer support. The most popular freelance websites are Upwork and Fiverr. If you explore these websites you will get an idea of what kinds of services you can offer, based on your experience and skillsets.

Freelancing is a great option for a lot of people. Yes, you're still trading your time for money. However, this mode of working allows you to change your lifestyle. You no longer have to go to a 9 to 5 job. Rather, you can work from home, or anywhere in the world for that matter.

2. Becoming An Influencer 

An influencer is someone who has a strong following of people online, whether that's on YouTube, Instagram, or Facebook. The key to being a great influencer is choosing one platform that you want to attract people through.

On this platform, you want to create a lot of high-quality content. I love to speak, teach and coach. This is why YouTube has been the most effective platform for me. I take my YouTube videos and turn them into podcasts which I publish on Apple, Spotify, and Google Play.

Being an influencer is a skill. It might not resonate with you. Some people have the personality for it, while others do not. If you like the idea of being in the spotlight, you'll love it. If you can attract a sizable following, there's a lot of opportunities to make money as an influencer.

Companies will pay influencers to promote their products through sponsored content. Influencer marketing uses endorsements and product mentions from individuals (aka, influencers) who have a dedicated social following and are viewed as experts within their niches.

As an influencer, you can be selective about which companies you want to promote. Some platforms already have built-in advertising systems. For example, YouTube has advertisements on every video.

If you have content on YouTube, you can make money from other advertisers who are bidding for placement on your videos. Every time those ads get displayed, you make money.

The three platforms that I would recommend (in order of power) would be YouTube, podcasts, and blogging.

If you have a sizable following or you get a lot of traffic on your blog, you can take advantage of advertising opportunities with Google Adsense or individual sponsorships with companies.

Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok are also effective social platforms. However, because you can only create shorter form pieces of content on these platforms, it's tougher to make as much money.

3. Affiliate Marketing 

This is the process where you promote someone else's product. You get paid a commission every time someone clicks on your affiliate link and buys a product. Many companies have free affiliate programs. This is one of the best ways for companies to market their products.

For example, if you become an influencer and you have a large following of people, affiliate marketing can allow you to monetize. You can find great quality products that you believe in and share those products with your audience, using an affiliate link, in a blog post or a YouTube video.

Affiliate marketing is one of my favorite ways to make money online because you don't have to create a product. Also, it's inexpensive to get started. Your only responsibility is to promote someone else's product to the existing traffic, audience, or following that you have.

4. Book Publishing

As a book publisher, you can sell and publish books on Amazon. As many of you know, Amazon is the largest online book retailer. They have a platform called Kindle Direct Publishing which allows anyone to publish any book that they want on Amazon.

You can publish a book as a Kindle book, a paperback, or an audiobook. All three ways of selling a book online can allow you to make passive income. 

With book publishing, there are two ways to create a book. One way is by writing your book. The second way is by hiring a ghostwriter to write your book for you. You can publish a book under a company name or as a pen name. Nobody has to know who you are. Alternatively, you can use your name.

The great thing about book publishing is that it doesn't cost a lot of money to start. If you decide to write your book yourself, all you need to spend money on is a book cover. I would suggest spending some money on marketing and promoting your book. 

Before you start writing your book, you need to identify a niche, topic, or genre that you want to write a book on. Also, you'll have to do some research to ensure that there is enough demand for the niche that you choose.

There are many different ways that you can do book publishing online. However, Amazon is the best way because of the opportunities that they provide. Amazon is the go-to place to buy books.

They have created trust with millions of customers around the world. On top of that, they handle a lot of the heavy lifting for you. If you know how their search engine works and how to rank your book for different keywords, you can get traffic and sales to your book. Amazon also has an advertising feature that allows you to advertise your book on their platform.

The one challenge with selling books is that you're selling a low-ticket product. Books sell for $10-20. You need a lot of book sales to make a lot of money.

If you want to grow a 6-7 figure income, selling books isn't the best way to go. However, the way that you can grow and scale your book publishing business is if you combine some of the different models that I talk about above.

For example, if you're a blogger, you can promote your book on your blog. At the same time, you could also do affiliate marketing. Strive to make multiple streams of income.

5. Amazon FBA

Amazon FBA is the process of selling physical products on Amazon. As I mentioned above, Amazon is the biggest online retailer in the world. It's where people go to buy stuff online. They are called “the everything store” for a reason.

You can be a third-party seller on Amazon. This means that you can sell any product that you want if you sign up for an Amazon Seller Central account. The best way to sell products on Amazon is through a process called private labeling.

This means that you'll find products that are already selling on Amazon and source that product from a supplier. Once you've done that, you will ship the number of units that you order to Amazon's fulfillment center. Once you've set up your Amazon listing, you can start selling your product online and make money from it.

Amazon has hundreds of millions of customers that you can tap into, which is why this is the best platform to start selling on. Eventually, you can move over to Shopify and have your own store.

Keep in mind that it will cost you a couple thousand dollars to get started selling on Amazon. Also, it can take about 3 months to launch a product on Amazon. That being said, I believe that Amazon FBA offers one of the best opportunities to make money online.

6. Info Products

In today's digital world, if people want to learn something, they go to the Internet. Self-education has become the new norm. If you have a specific skill set or expertise, you can create a step-by-step online course.

You can include a membership feature and sell it online as an info product for whatever amount of money that you want. Selling online courses can be quite profitable.

The one downside of this model is that it is not beginner-friendly and there are more expenses involved. Not only do you need to have valuable knowledge that you can teach, but the overall creation of a course is a lot of work.

I would suggest waiting until you have more experience selling online before launching an info product. Nonetheless, this is a great way to make money and help a lot of people at the same time.

7. Coaching 

Coaching is all about inspiring people to grow and become the best versions of themselves. If you have the desire to make a difference in the lives of others, I celebrate you.

The best way to build a client list is by driving organic traffic to your website. The secret to engaging with your audience and building your brand credibility is delivering high-quality content consistently via social media, YouTube videos, live streams, etc. Once you've created trust with your audience and they have benefited from your free content, eventually they will come to you for coaching.

Keep in mind that coaching will not lead to passive income. However, it is very fulfilling work. There is no greater feeling than knowing that you have made a positive impact on someone's life.

These are 7 proven ways to make money online in 2022.

Reflect on each of these opportunities and identify which niche you want to build a business around. You don't want to do all of these business models at the same time. Rather, you want to start with one, master it, and then add more over time.

Eventually, I recommend combining these models into one online business. Creating lasting multiple streams of income is the best way to build a lifetime of wealth.

Why should you get into affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is the process whereby you earn a commission by promoting someone else's product.

You find a company that has an affiliate program and then join that program and get an affiliate link. Your goal is to share this link with any many people as you can. For every person who clicks on your affiliate link and buys the product that you're promoting, you will earn an affiliate commission.

Not only is affiliate marketing beginner-friendly, but you can also add massive value to a community by promoting others' products and services. Herein lies the beauty of this business model – you aren't responsible for creating a product.

Trust me when I say that it's not easy to create a product from scratch. There are a lot of risks involved. As an affiliate marketer, your only responsibility is to bring traffic to a product and promote it successfully.

I want to walk you through the steps of what it takes to start making $10,000 a month with affiliate marketing. Let's dive in!

1. Find a quality product & offer

This is where your money is going to be made. When you're first starting, you may have to try out a few different affiliate programs and products to determine which one is going to generate the most sales for you.

You want to pick one product and get behind it. What has allowed me to achieve so much success as an affiliate marketer is that I act AS IF a product is my own. I only promote products that I believe everyone will benefit from.

An example of this is the Oura Ring. This is a product that I am an affiliate for. It's an incredible device that I use every single day. I believe in it so much because it has drastically improved the quality of my sleep and overall life.

I've even gone so far as to gift the Oura Ring to my friends and family members. When you have this kind of passion for a product, you will put in the effort to promote it to as many people as you can. 

When it comes to promoting products, you have to be careful that you don't dilute your focus. You have to decide which products will be the best opportunities for you to pursue and generate the most revenue.

Oftentimes, I try to double down on products like these, instead of trying to promote a million different products at once. When you're looking for a great quality product to promote you want to make sure that it has amazing marketing and a great affiliate program. I would focus on mid or high-ticket products that pay you a great affiliate commission. 

2. Master marketing 

The good news is that you don't have to master everything. Whatever product you decide to promote, you only have to master one way to drive traffic to that offer. When I first started, I got good at blogging and search engine optimization. I learned as much as I could. That being said, I didn't achieve success right away.

As an example, at the beginning stages of building my YouTube channel, I didn't get thousands of views and subscribers right away. It took several months to get people to even notice me, let alone watch my videos. None of this would have been possible had I not been consistent with my efforts.

Once you get your traffic strategy down pat, all you need to do is rinse and repeat, and scale-up. One of the most powerful strategies for making money with affiliate marketing that has worked for me has been creating A LOT of content.

The content that I publish on my blog or YouTube channel is evergreen, meaning that it's there forever. I have pieces of content that I created 7 years ago that continue to provide me with passive income to this day. That's pretty awesome.

3. Build an email list

If you want to build a $10,000 a month affiliate marketing business, you need to be making money consistently. The way that you do this is by building a funnel. If you're creating content and you're getting traffic, you want to direct people into a funnel where you can collect their email addresses.

Building an email list gives you the ability to get consistent sales because you can write out an email follow-up series. Within these emails, you can promote affiliate offers. This can help you create a consistent stream of revenue, and eventually scale your business to $10,000 a month.

On my YouTube channel, you will find an affiliate marketing playlist. Within that playlist, there's a video that I made on how to create a funnel from scratch, and how to build an email list. If you're serious about building an affiliate marketing business, I encourage you to check out those videos, and others that I've created.

4. Create an irresistible offer 

Once you have a product that is converting well and making you money, the way to ramp that up is to make your offer even more irresistible. Incentivize people to buy a product by giving them MORE than what they are paying for. This is when you're stacking the deck in their favor.

When I get behind certain products, I always think about how I can complement a product. I ask myself, “What else can I offer or give?” I may even create complimentary bonuses, video training, PDFs, cheat sheets, or checklists to help support a product. Whenever I've done this, I've created raving fans.

Making passive income is a life-changing experience.

Everything in your life starts to become a lot more fun once you get out of the rat race and stop living paycheck to paycheck. Before I dive into 5 passive income business ideas you can use to build real wealth, I want to first shed light on a passive income myth that exists.

Don't get me wrong… you can make passive income from each of the 5 business ideas that I'm going to share with you, but the question is, for how long? Regardless of which online business model you decide to pursue, the Internet is always changing.

If you don't adapt to it, your income will not be able to sustain itself or grow. To this day, I continue to consistently make passive income from 5 different passive income streams. I get direct deposits into my account every single month from some of these income streams.

However, because I haven't maintained or updated them, a lot of them have died off. This is why it's challenging to have a lifetime's worth of passive income with an online business. I truly believe that the best passive income is through real estate and stocks. 

Those are assets that don't change all that much, in comparison to the Internet that is always changing. Nevertheless, the business ideas that I'm going to share with you today are still incredibly powerful.

My long-term passive income strategy is to invest the money that I make from my online business into long-term passive income streams that compound over time. With that being said, let's dive into my top 5 passive business ideas!

1. Selling on Amazon

This is the hottest opportunity that exists right now. Amazon is the #1 online retailer, due in large part to the accelerated eCommerce growth that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic. When it comes to selling on Amazon, there are three ways to go about it.

First, you can sell private-labeled physical products on Amazon or you can create a product of your own. If you're a beginner, I highly recommend that you take the former route.

A second way to take advantage of Amazon is by selling wholesale products. With wholesaling, you are an authorized wholesaler of other brands and you share their Amazon listing. The more products that you have up and running, the more passive income you can make.

A third way to sell on Amazon is through Kindle book publishing. You can publish a Kindle, paperback, or audio version on Amazon. The great thing about Kindle publishing is that you don't have to be a great writer. You can hire ghostwriters to write books for you via platforms like Upwork.com.

Selling books on Amazon is a great way to share your message with the world. There is work involved to start getting sales, but once you gain momentum, it's easy to maintain those sales. If you want to drive traffic to your Shopify store, you will most likely have to utilize the power of ads via Google, Facebook, or Instagram. Once those ads become profitable, you will have to check-in on them every week to make sure that everything is running smoothly.

3. Creating an online course

An online course should add value or solve a problem in a specific niche. From personal experience, trust me when I say that there is a lot of time involved in creating a course. You will have to put together a members area and a sales page. On top of that, you may have to hire someone who can take care of customer support and maintain your business.

That being said, once you have your online course set up and you are getting consistent traffic and sales from it, it becomes very passive. One of the ways that I consistently get traffic to my online courses is through the content I create.

Over the last 9 years, I've created so many pieces of content on the Internet – over 1,000 Youtube videos, 1,200 blog posts, and 800 podcasts. This is what allows me to take months off of my business, while still making money 24/7.

4. Affiliate marketing

I love affiliate marketing because you don't have to invest the time, money, and energy that it takes to create a course or a product. As an affiliate marketer, you are solely responsible for focusing on traffic and promoting other peoples' products or services.

You earn an affiliate commission for every person who buys something through your affiliate link. The best affiliate programs that I've worked on are the ones where I've promoted products, software, courses, or tools that pay recurring commissions.

This is a software that allows people to build their funnels online. This is what I use in my online business for all of my funnels. I would not be able to run my business without it. ClickFunnel pays a 40% monthly recurring commission. Their minimum plan is $97 per month. This means that you can make $40 per month in recurring commissions over the long-term. ClickFunnels has a lot of great front-end products to choose from in their affiliate network as well.

A powerful way to promote ClickFunnels is to create content that shows people how to use the product, in the form of a tutorial or a review. As an example, check out the FREE ClickFunnels training that I created.

2. Aweber

This is an email service provider that helps people do their email marketing for their online business. Aweber allows you to collect emails, send broadcasts to your email list, and set up auto-responder emails.

I've been using this service for over 8 years now. As an affiliate, you earn a 30% referral payment on every sale. Like ClickFunnels, when a business owner signs up for this service, he/she will use it every month and stick with it over the long run.

3. ActiveCampaign

This is a marketing automation software. Similar to Aweber, it allows business owners to connect and engage with their customers.  This software has great retention because they have great email deliverability. When you send an email to your list, you can trust that it goes directly to people's inboxes.

ActiveCampaign offers people a free trial to sign up. With their affiliate program, they pay up to 30% of each customer's account value every single month.

4. Improvely

This is a marketing analytic platform that allows marketers to track, test, and optimize their online marketing campaigns. They are one of the best in the industry for analytics and split-testing.

They give you 50% of the first payment, and then 10% of the recurring revenue share for the first year for each customer you refer. You can make up to $1,400 per referral.

5. TubeBuddy

This is a Google Chrome extension that helps you build your YouTube channel. They help you with advanced keyword research so that you know which keywords someone is searching for on YouTube. Also, they give you ideas on the types of topics you should create YouTube videos on, and how to get traffic to your videos.

One great feature of TubeBuddy is their A/B split test. With all of my YouTube thumbnails, I always test two different thumbnails. Doing so allows me to see which one is going to get a better click-through rate. In addition, TubeBuddy helps you track the rankings of your videos on YouTube. With their affiliate program, you can earn up to 50% recurring commissions.

6. Teachable

This is a tool that allows you to create online courses. They have awesome features, some of which include a membership site, video hosting, a payment plugin, and email integration.

Teachable pays out 30% commissions with a 90-day cookie. This means that when people click on your affiliate link, it will place a cookie on their browser. As long as they sign up within 90 days, you will still earn a commission. However, if someone clears his/her browser cookie, you won't get the commission.

7. LongTailPro

This is a search engine optimization tool. It helps you identify keywords in Google that you can create content for, as well as track the rankings of your content. For each referral, you can earn a 30% commission on all sales and recurring transactions.

8. SEMrush

This is a suite of tools that offer solutions for search engine optimization, PPC, content marketing, market research, and social media marketing. You can earn up to 40% recurring commission from each SEMrush subscription.

9. SkedSocial

This is a social media management and scheduling tool for Instagram. If you're trying to build your Instagram, you want to use a tool like this. They have a ton of cool features, like a visual content calendar and hashtag analytics, to name a few.

SkedSocial offers a free 7-day trial so that you can test it before committing. SkedSocial gives affiliates 20% of the first payment, and then 10% recurring commission for the first 12 months.

10. Elegant Themes

WordPress is a free website creation platform that has a variety of custom themes for you to choose from. To use WordPress, you need to install a theme. A theme is like a design that someone else has made that you can install on WordPress and customize.

When someone signs up for this theme, he/she will get a license to use it, which will renew every year. With their affiliate program, you get 50% of the sale and you get the renewals of their subscriptions every year.

11. Clickbank

This is one of the largest affiliate marketplaces in the world. You need to sign up for a free account to get access to the marketplace. However, once you log in, you can browse a variety of different products that you can promote through its affiliate network. ClickBank's affiliate marketplace allows you to earn up to 90% commissions.

Investing in the stock market is a smart move.

There are two ways to make money in the stock market. One way is to invest in shares of a company and hold it. The other way is to invest in dividend-paying stocks. With these types of stocks, you benefit from the appreciation of a company over a period of time. You also benefit from the dividends that a company pays out to you.

As you get older, you want to hold more dividend-paying stocks or bonds. You will need that income for your retirement. When you're younger, you don't need dividends as much because you are still making money from your job or business. In my case, I already have cashflow that I generate from other sources so I don't need the dividends from my investments.

I reinvest the money that I make to buy more shares. This is a great strategy to adopt if you're a long-term investor like myself. Those dividends get paid out, but they are automatically on what is called a drip. This is a dividend reinvestment plan. You can enroll your stock brokerage account in this type of plan.

This means that every time a company pays out a dividend, it automatically buys more shares of that company. When you have more shares, you receive more dividends over time. In turn, these dividends compound to create more wealth for you. However, there is a place for non-dividend paying stocks, especially if you're younger.

Growth companies; like Amazon, Facebook, Tesla, and Google; don't want to stifle their growth by paying out dividends to shareholders. They would much rather reinvest their money back into their business so that they can grow faster and compete with everyone else in their sector.

With dividends, you can either take the money and live on it or reinvest the money.

I am a big believer in dividend reinvestment. This is one of the easiest ways to grow your investment portfolio once you have stopped working and are enjoying retirement. How much money can you make from a dividend investment portfolio? Roughly 3%.

As an example, if you have $100,000 invested in stocks that pay a 3% dividend every year, you would make $3,000 per year. If you had $1 million invested in dividend stocks that pay a 3% dividend every year, that's $30,000 per year. If time is on your side and you start saving now, by the time you're 70 years old, you could become a millionaire.

I go to Yahoo Finance when I want to do research and evaluate different companies. Yahoo Finance is one of the Dividend Aristocrats. The Dividend Aristocrats is a list of companies that have increased their dividends every single year, for at least 25 years. These are stable, blue-chip company stocks, like Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Target, and Coca Cola, to name a few.

If you're trying to find individual stocks to invest in, I recommend you check out this list. When it comes to evaluating dividend stocks, pay attention to the following factors:

• The Annual Dividend Rate – the total of the dividends payments expected.
• Dividend Payout Ratio – the total amount of dividends paid out to shareholders.

When it comes to investing in dividend-paying stocks, you can choose individual companies, like AT&T, Coca Cola, or Pepsi. However, this is still fairly risky, especially if you're a new investor. I don't recommend doing stock picking. Rather, you should have a percentage of your portfolio in ETFs. These are exchange-traded funds that have a certain objective. There are two ETFs that I really like:

• Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (VIG)
• Vanguard High Dividend ETF (VYM)

Being poor is connected to feeling poor.

I can relate to this because I used to struggle financially. There was a time in my life when I was in a lot of credit card debt and living on my friend's couch. I always felt like there wasn't enough of anything. Not surprisingly, by adopting this mindset, I wasn't able to attract money into my life. Not only did my bank account reflect my financial woes, but I also felt poor.

ln his research, Princeton psychologist, Eldar Shafir found that being poor requires so much mental energy that those with limited means are more likely to make mistakes and bad decisions than those with bigger financial cushions. 

The path that your life takes depends, in part, on the mindset that you adopt. Many years ago I possessed a scarcity mindset. Needless to say, I wasn't operating at a high vibrational state. I was stuck in one place and wasn't making any progress in my life. That didn't feel good.

Eventually, I hit my emotional threshold and decided that I wanted to change my life. I started living from a place of abundance, even when it didn't feel natural to do so. After years of reprogramming my money beliefs, great things started happening in my life and it snowballed from there. Today, I have achieved financial freedom.

There isn't one second that goes by that I take my success for granted. I worked hard to become the person that I am today. Everything in life begins and ends with a decision. If you are tired of struggling, decide to stop struggling. I know it sounds easier said than done, but it's really not. Your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Choose wisely.

Enough about me.

Let me ask you something… do you want to be a multi-millionaire who travels the world, with freedom of time and money? Or do you want to be a minimum wage worker who lives paycheck to paycheck? I think we can all agree that the first option is enticing. However, it all depends on what is important to you in life. If you're reading this article, I'm assuming that you are intrigued by the idea of creating more financial wealth in your life.

However, before you can do this, it's important to be aware of the 3 types of income that exist. It is possible that one or two of them may be keeping you poor. Knowledge is power, but knowledge without action is a waste of time. Let's dive in!

1. Active Income 

This is a type of income where you trade your time for money. This is the worst type of income that you can make. However, most people start here. One of the biggest disadvantages of active income is that you are limited in the amount of money that you can make. What's worse, the moment that you stop working, your income stops.

The biggest illusion that you have been taught by society and your parents is that active income gives you a sense of security. Having a job is NOT secure. At any moment, you could get fired, outsourced or replaced. Lastly, by making active income, you aren't really developing skills to generate long-term wealth.

This is why the wealthiest people in the world do not follow this path. Conversely, when you are an entrepreneur, you have the power to transform your time into money in order to generate revenue for yourself. Trust me when I say that this is the path you want to take.

2. Portfolio Income

This type of income is otherwise known as capital gains. This is when you take some of your money and invest and buy assets, like bonds, stocks or real estate. However, this type of money is only made once you sell your assets. With capital gains, you get taxed a fairly high amount, depending on the country where you live. That being said, you can get capital gains exemptions if you are selling your personal property.

For example, let's say that you buy a home in Canada. Not only that, but you decide to live in that home and end up selling it. You will get an exemption and pay less in taxes depending on the capital gains that were made on that property. However, if it's a rental property that you don't personally live in, and you end up selling the house, you will pay a higher tax on that property.

3. Passive Income 

Making passive income is the ultimate goal. This is when you have money that is working for you. Trust me when I say that making money while you sleep is an awesome feeling. Money is coming in on autopilot every single day. In the initial stages of setting up your passive income streams, you may have to trade your time for money. It will take some time to build the foundation.

However, once you've put in the work, it won't require any more of your time. More importantly, it will continue to make you passive income. In my eyes, this is the only path to achieve true financial wealth. This is one of the reasons why I love online businesses. It's a set and forget it type of model. There is no limit to the amount of money that you can make.

Now that you know what is keeping you poor, you can take action.

Passive income gives you freedom of time to do what you want, where you want, with whom you want. Time is your greatest asset. In my opinion, it is far more valuable than money ever will be. Yes, building a passive income stream is a long-term investment, but your future will thank you for it.

Books can have a huge impact on people's lives.

Think about the most important book that you've ever read. How did it make you feel? The power of books is unmeasurable. I have dedicated my life and my work to personal growth and development. Reading has been a powerful tool that has allowed me to learn more about myself, others, and the world. But don’t take it from me. Here’s what the late and famed scientist, Carl Sagan, had to say:

“What an astonishing thing a book is. It's a flat object made from a tree with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles. But one glance at it and you're inside the mind of another person… Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other… A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic.”

A lot of people ask me, “Stefan, how do I write a book?” I've written and published quite a few books of my own. Over the years, I've shared my process for writing and publishing best-selling books on Amazon. As a result, I've helped a lot of writers become successful Kindle publishers.

Despite this, I know all too well the difficulties that you can face when writing a book for the first time. The biggest mistake that I see a lot of writers make is that they try to cram too much information into one book. When you take this approach, it's easy to get stuck on an idea, ruminate about the topic, procrastinate, and then stop altogether.

As Steven Wright once said, “I'm writing a book. I've got the page numbers done.” Your first book doesn't have to be a masterpiece. Don't get hung up on writing a best-seller right out of the gate. All that matters is that you just start and don't stop.

Let's take a step back for a moment. Before you can sit down and write a book, it's important that you have a strong enough why for doing so. I want you to successfully finish a book that you are proud of. Here are 7 reasons why you should write a book this year.

1. It Provides A Platform To Share Your Story

According to the esteemed psychologist, Dr. Dan McAdams, the deepest level of our identity is our “narrative identity.” Everybody has a life story that they hold in their hearts that articulates where they have come from, where they are now, and where they are going. This life story is just like any other story. It follows an exciting plot, features main and supporting characters, and has lessons to learn.

Writing can be extremely cathartic. In fact, research shows that emotional, autobiographical storytelling can be a path to truly owning your story. As a writer, vulnerability is one of your most powerful tools. Not only that, but it is also the most beautiful form of human self-expression.

Humans love hearing stories because it gives them a sense of unity, clarity, and purpose. So, what better way to provide that gift to the world than to write your own story in a book? Not only will you help others to relate their lives to yours, but you’ll also bring a psychological boost to your own life as well!

2. It Allows You To Make Passive Income

A little extra money never hurt anybody, whether that's to pay your bills more easily, treat yourself to something nice, or to save for the future (or maybe for all of these!). Writing a book is one of the easiest and most effective ways to make passive income. I’m not talking about a few dollars here and there… I’m talking about building an online business model that has the potential to make you a lot of money.

The self-publishing age is here and it continues to grow every year. According to the latest report from ProQuest affiliate, Bowker, more than 1 million books were self-published in 2017. There is no doubt that there has never been a better time to write a book.

It's important to realize that a lot of people don't have the attention span for books that are longer than 100 pages. When you start writing your book, don't fall into the trap of assuming that long is good. In actuality, short eBooks sell better than longer novels. I have been able to create a 6-figure book publishing business, selling short Kindle ebooks and audiobooks. How would it feel to have these kinds of earnings in your bank account?

Of course, eBooks aren’t the only way to make passive income. You can also take the more traditional route of paper publishing. J.K. Rowling, who wrote the Harry Potter books, now has a net worth of almost $1 billion after being poor when she first began writing. It worked for her. There's no reason why it can't work for you as well.

In all of these cases, however, it’s the same: Once you’ve written your book, you keep making money from it every time someone buys a copy. Compare that to any other job where you have to work for someone else in order to get your monthly paycheck. Making money while you sleep is a sweet deal.

3. It Positions You as an Expert 

I believe that writing a book is one of the best ways to build credibility and position yourself as an expert in your industry. Ever since I became a published author, my opportunities have increased tenfold. As a result, I have been able to expand my area of influence.

Let’s face it, knowledge is power. Not only have my books allowed me to reach my target audience, but they have also attracted a whole range of new followers as well. More reach means more opportunities. It’s time for you to become a thought leader in your niche. Maybe it’s a life philosophy you’ve adopted, maybe it’s a challenge that you've overcome, or maybe it’s a new way of mastering habits that have transformed your life.

Whatever it is, I know that you have something that people could learn from you.  You’re already an expert at something. Go ahead and write about it. When you add value to the world on a consistent basis, over time you are deemed to be a credible and trust-worthy person. There is no greater honor.

4. It Gives You a Sense of Accomplishment 

In their ground-breaking research on self-determination theory, psychologists Dr. Edward Deci and Dr. Richard Ryan found that people have a fundamental need to feel competent. In other words, they want to feel as if they are achieving worthy goals. Without fulfilling this need, it will feel as if you are missing something in your life.

Think about the times when you felt sluggish and procrastinated. Didn’t feel that great, right? Now think about times when you were completely in the zone and checking off everything on your to-do list. That’s what it feels like to fulfill your need for competence. Or in other words, your need for accomplishment.

The great news is that you can fulfill this basic need for accomplishment by writing a book. Just imagine writing that last sentence now. How amazing would that feel? It might sound hard right now, but once you break it down, you begin to realize that it isn't all that daunting. If you write one page a day, you’ll have a 365-page book in a year! If you write two pages every day, you’ll have reached that milestone in half a year. It's all about perspective.

5. It Teaches You To Be A Better Reader

The best communicators are the best listeners. The best painters are the best observers. And the best writers are the best readers. Like any art, the best books are created from the inspiration gained by studying the great books that have already been written. Are there any books you’ve been meaning to read but haven’t gotten around to yet?

Now is your chance to because it will make you a better writer. By reading great books, you’ll learn the tricks of the trade and start to appreciate the little things that only other writers would appreciate. Soon, you’ll have a library in your head ready to pour out into a book of your own.

6. It Challenges You To Grow

What’s the last thing you did that really challenged you? Think about bodybuilders. Week in and week out they show up for themselves. They possess sheer determination and persistence and stop at nothing to build their physical and mental strength. The fact of the matter is that you can only grow by challenging yourself. No pain, no gain.

If you want to transform yourself, then you've got to be willing to step outside of your comfort zone and do something that scares you. Writing a high-quality book requires a lot of self-discipline, effort, and commitment. Researching, writing, editing, re-writing, adhering to deadlines, crafting ideas, and then spending time putting it all together into a final manuscript is a lot of work.

However, I believe that when you truly want something, you will do whatever it takes to make it happen. Trust me when I say that it's all worth it when you finally see the end product and find out that people are receiving value from it. There is no greater feeling knowing that your work is impacting lives.

7. It Allows You To Make An Impact

When Malala Yousafzai was just 11, she wrote a blog exposing the grueling details of her everyday grind living under the terrifying Taliban rule in Pakistan. A few years later, she was on a bus going home after writing an exam. But this wasn’t a normal bus ride. She was shot and hit in the head by Taliban assailants because of her activism. Miraculously, she survived.

But she didn’t stop there. She began advocating for everyone’s right to have an education. Overnight, she became famous around the world for the impact that her message had. She then wrote a book called, I am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban, which quickly became an international best-seller. In 2014, at the age of 17, she became the youngest-ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Many people would want to go into hiding after such a brutal attack. Some would even aggressively retaliate against those who tried to hurt them. But Malala did something unique and special; she used her ideas to inspire change and action in the world through advocacy and writing a book.

In her words: “Let us pick up our books and pens. They are the most powerful weapons.” Malala is a shining example of the change that is possible through words. You too can change the world. Go ahead and start writing.

There has never been a better time to write a book.

Like I said above, writing a book doesn’t have to be hard. It all starts with that first word. By the end of it, you’ll surprise yourself how much you learned along the way. As I always say, it's not what you are, but who you become that matters most.
