This is my Biocybernaut review where I talk about how I biohacked 40 years of meditation in 7 days.

Tatiana and I recently took part in a 7-day brain neurofeedback training at the Biocybernaut Institute in Sedona, Arizona.

This was one of the most powerful self-development experiences I've ever had. I was given the unique opportunity of biohacking my brain waves.

Dr. James Hardt is the founder of the Biocybernaut Institute and one of the original inventors of EEG feedback technology.

Keep reading to discover the life-changing benefits that I received from this brain training!

This was my experience with 40 years of meditation in 7 days.

The Biocybernaut Institute is the gold standard in neurofeedback training. As many of you know who follow me, I have been heavily invested in self-development for the last 17  years. I will try anything that has the potential to enhance my life. If something benefits me, my mission is to share what I learn with you, in the hopes that it will improve your life in some way.

That is why I do what I do. I've invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into my self-development, in the form of training programs, seminars, coaches, consultants, masterminds, and live events. Not to mention that I have read hundreds of self-help books.

I can confidently say that my experience at the Biocybernaut Institute is the most transformative thing that I have ever invested in. That is saying a lot. I discovered the Institute a few years ago from friends who shared the life-changing benefits that they've received from going through the training.

Some of them have even done the training multiple times! It is that powerful. My mentor, Tony Robbins gives a great Biocybernaut review of his experience going through the training. I encourage you to watch if you're interested in attending it one day.

Benefits of Biocybernaut Training

Dr. James Hardt has conducted scientific studies that confirm that participants who go through his 7-day neurofeedback training experience the following benefits:

  • 50% increase in creativity
  • +11.7 point increase in IQ (stable 12 months out)
  • +15.8 increase in EQ (stable 12 months out)
  • A calmer mind and less anxiety
  • Heightened consciousness, greater self-awareness
  • An increase in peak performance and flow states

If you want to go deeper and learn more about the science behind this treatment and the benefits outlined above, I encourage you to check out the Biocybernaut Publications and the Biocybernaut Technical Papers.

The Five Brain Wave States

  • Delta – Restorative sleep, dreaming
  • Theta – Lucid dreams, limited consciousness
  • Alpha – Alert, but physically and mentally relaxed
  • Beta – Awake and alert
  • Gamma – Intense focus and concentration

Every thought and emotion that you have is experienced at a certain brain wave state. After studying Zen meditators from all over the world, Dr. James Hardt discovered that people who meditate for 20-40 years have higher levels of alpha brain waves.

He was able to recreate that same pattern of the alpha brain waves in his biofeedback training, thereby helping people biohack 40 years of meditation in 7 days.

Neurofeedback Training Explained

At the Biocybernaut Institute, you train for 10-14 hours a day over a 7-day period. They attach gold-plated electrodes to different parts of your brain so that they can read and see where your alpha is coming from and to what degree.

Most of our alpha comes from our occipital and frontal lobes. They put you in a sound-proof chamber where you spend the majority of your time. Inside the chamber, there are speakers all around you.

When your alpha goes up, they start playing various sounds or tones. Based on where the alpha is being increased inside your brain, you will hear different tones.

As your brain starts hearing these different brain waves from inside the chamber, your brain gets rewarded for it.  As a result, this triggers the production of more alpha in your brain. This is how neurofeedback works.

Most people experience these different brain waves but we don't get to measure them, nor do they get to receive feedback when these states go up and down.

Studies that have been conducted at the Biocybernaut Institute have found that a higher level of alpha reduces negative emotions; like anxiety, stress, anger, and worry.

At the Biocybernaut Institute, they integrate the 14-step forgiveness method into their training program.

This is the most beneficial part of the program and was life-changing for me. Through his research, Dr. James Hardt found that trauma suppresses our alpha levels. A traumatic experience can still affect you on a subconscious level, regardless of the amount of inner work that you've done to heal from it.

Therefore, the purpose of the forgiveness method is to help people release subconscious trauma. The only way to accomplish this is by being in a high state of alpha. When you're inside the chamber, their technology reads your EEG alpha activity to see whether or not your painful thoughts are suppressing or increasing your alpha.

If the machine finds that if your alpha is suppressed, you go through a forgiveness process of the people who wronged you to understand why they acted the way that they did.

From there, they ask you to take some time to reflect upon the gifts that came from the painful experience that you endured. As you go through this forgiveness process, you are raising your alpha brain waves and restoring balance to your brain's electrical patterns.

I hope that my Biocybernaut review has inspired you to biohack your brain!

Again, my experience at the Biocybernaut Institute was life-changing. It has allowed me to access higher levels of consciousness, among many other amazing benefits.

What is unique about this training is you're doing something that is having a permanent effect on you in real-time. Even better, anyone who has done the training says that the benefits continue to increase 6-9 months afterward.

How amazing is it that someone like Dr. James Hardt has created technology that allows us to biohack our brainwave patterns and inner peace?

Do yourself a favor and add this experience to your bucket list!  When you change your brain waves, you change your life.

Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change. I would like to share a powerful self-improvement ritual that will ensure that your business consistently grows every year.

I am a big believer that, at the beginning of every year, you need to set goals for yourself and check in to ensure that you are making progress.

The ritual that I am going to share with you involves more than just setting goals. It’s about taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture of your business and your life.

If you want to achieve success, you need to assess the direction of your business and your life, in order to ensure that you are gaining ‘altitude’, as Eben Pagan says.

Are you ready to learn about a game-changing ritual for your business and your life? Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change.

Every 90 days I schedule a meeting with my team, and I create a specific format for it. If it’s only you in the meeting, schedule it in the same way.

Here is the meeting format that I recommend you follow. Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change:

1. Review The Vision For Your Business

A clear vision gives a business and a team a sense of direction and inspiration. In my business, I make an effort to ensure that everyone on my team is in alignment with my vision, and that we discuss what that vision is on a regular basis.

Not only that, but if the vision changes in any way, we talk about the ways in which we will need to adapt our business processes in order to ensure that we are constantly growing and expanding.

Keep in mind that it’s important that you continually check in with people to ensure that they are still on board with your vision.

2. Review The Values For Your Business And Your Life

Values are critically important for your business. Not only that, but you want to make sure that there is alignment between the values that you adhere to in your life and the ones that you promote in your business.

What does your business stand for? If you have a team, you need to communicate to them which values are most important to you.

3. Give And Receive Feedback

Feedback is a great way to develop a sense of awareness about where we can improve, so that we are consistently making progress. A lot of people forget this step in their business because they don’t create a ritual to assess themselves and their team.

There are three people on my leadership team, including myself. These are people that I trust and whose opinions I value. Like any relationship, disagreements can come up within a team, and if they aren’t expressed openly it can cause resentment amongst team members.

Each person in the team shares what he or she feels they believe that they are good at, and what they can improve. I then reflect upon what I believe that I need to improve upon, and then I allow the other members of my team to do the same.

My job is to shut up, listen, and take notes. I want my team to be honest with me. The goal is to help each other grow and improve. This is a great trust-building team exercise.

4. Analyze Your Business

As a group, my team and I then brainstorm the areas where we feel that our business has done well. We celebrate and acknowledge our accomplishments over the last 90 days, and the areas where we think we can make improvements.

We also talk about any ideas or suggestions that the team or myself may have for moving forward into the next quarter.

5. Set Goals & Actions for Next 90 Days

Things change throughout the year, so you need to be flexible. In my team, we reassess the goals that we had during the previous quarter, and then for the next quarter we decide what we want to focus on.

I always try to make sure that my team and I have goals in multiple parts of our business, and that each individual has a goal that they are moving towards.

When everyone has a goal, it allows him or her to brainstorm creative ways that they can achieve it. I also make sure that there is always a reward for achieving a goal and make sure that the goal is S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely).

6. Inspire Personal Growth and Development

Every quarter I want to make sure that my team is learning and growing, whether that’s in the form of reading books, attending seminars, taking part in courses, etc.

These are things that I support my team with because I want to invest in them, like I invest in myself. By giving the people on my team the opportunity to develop new skills, that in turn supports the growth of my business as well.

My team then shares their ideas with the group, and then for the next quarter we determine how we are going to commit to learning. We make sure that everyone on my team has goals that they are moving towards.

I highly recommend this ritual. If you want to succeed in business, you need to work on it, not in it. Take it seriously and commit to mastery.

You need to be constantly checking-in, assessing, evaluating where you are at, and where you want to go. This is what the most successful companies in the world do.

Act as if you are bigger than you are. Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change.

Are you ready to take your life and your business to the next level? In the words of Frank Ocean, “Work hard in silence. Let your success be the noise.”

I would like to share my Tony Robbins Date with Destiny experience & review. I was lucky enough to attend this event in the Gold Coast of Australia with my girlfriend, Tatiana. It was a goal that I set for myself earlier this year and I’m happy that I was able to achieve it.

As many of you who follow me know, I’m a big believer in Tony Robbins. He has changed my life in so many ways, and I am eternally grateful. I think that everyone should have the opportunity to experience his work and his mission.

I continue to attend his seminars, again and again, because every time that I go, my life improves. More importantly, I do it because I am committed to mastery. I don’t just want to learn new information. I want to actually apply it in my life. I know that repetition is the mother of mastery; the more I do something, the more that I grow. This is my intention of joining Tony Robbins Date With Destiny.

In the words of Tony, “Contrary to popular wisdom, knowledge is not power – it’s potential power. Knowledge is not mastery. Execution is mastery. Execution will trump knowledge every day of the week.” Are you ready to take action in your life?

Every time I attend one of Tony Robbins’ events, such as Tony Robbins Date With Destiny, I get recognized by at least 50 people who approach me to express that they were inspired to attend Tony Robbins Date with Destiny because of the video blog review that I created back in 2012. The fact that my video has influenced so many people is very humbling.

There are three reasons why I decided to attend another one of Tony Robbins’ events. First, when I was in Sedona, Arizona last year I saw a filming of Tony’s new documentary, “I Am Not Your Guru.” It really moved me, and it brought up a lot of memories that I had at his 2012 Date with Destiny event.

Second, my girlfriend had never attended the Tony Robbins Date with Destiny event. Tony has a whole day called, “Relationship Day.” I wanted to create more of a foundation for our amazing relationship for the rest of our lives.

Finally, I wanted to attend the leadership portion of the event.

With Tony Robbins’s Date with Destiny event, you have the option of being a part of a 3-day leadership training program, where they break you up into teams, and each team has a trainer and a senior leader. They teach you a variety of different skills in order to become a leader. This gives you an opportunity to understand what Tony does at a much deeper level.

In my own businesses, I influence hundreds of thousands of people through my online content, live mastermind events, workshops, and seminars. I saw this as a great opportunity to take my leadership skills to the next level. When it comes to events, I wanted to learn from the best in the world, with regards to how to provide amazing experiences as well as benefit from the content that he shares.

Tony Robbin's Date with Destiny is his highest level of training. It helps you to understand and shift the driving force of what controls every decision that you make in your life. You solve and fix what creates your problems in the first place. Once you can make those internal shifts, you will feel pulled towards your ultimate destiny.

Most people have so many conflicting values and fears that are out of alignment with who they really are, and that are holding them back from creating the life that they desire. Tony Robbin's Date with Destiny forces you to become aware of your existing values. Values are emotional states that we want to move towards or away from. Towards-values may be love, happiness, security, health, energy, etc. We all desire these things. However, the hierarchy is what is going to determine the direction that our lives will take.

Tony helps you identify your existing values and then challenges you to ask yourself if these values are bringing you a sense of fulfillment. He also teaches you how to get clear about what you really want, and then determine what values you need in order to achieve your goals. Lastly, he helps you identify the beliefs, or what he refers to as ‘rules’, that allow you to experience the values that are most important to you.

According to Tony, the six human needs are certainty, variety, significance, love, growth, and contribution. The first four needs are defined as needs of the personality, and the last two are identified as needs of the spirit. In today’s world, people put too much value on significance and security. Those needs are great for achieving success, but horrible for experiencing fulfillment. I challenge you to focus more on valuing love, growth, contribution, and variety in your life.

Why the Date With Destiny Review Is Important

When Tony Robbins speaks about the basic human needs, he is not only looking at the basic elements that help us to function. He is highlighting how important it is to find what we respond to and what allows us to move into our true character and personality.

If you are going to reach your destiny, it begins with finding the main human needs and understanding how these become your gifts. You want to know what is important to you and what you need to do to find your passion and work with these.

It’s important to look at how you relate to your destiny. What do you believe about yourself? How do you identify with what is next on your life path? What does it mean for you to reach certain goals and fulfill different parts of your life?

Every individual is different and will focus on mastery in different ways. Make sure you find what works for you and identify the best alternatives that allow you to take the steps forward that matter most to you.

When you look at the principles that the Tony Robbins Date with Destiny provides, it shows that there are several dimensions you can look at to reach your full potential. It also means that you need to look deeply at how you approach life and what each area of life is to you. This allows you to become more introspective and to begin working toward the goals you desire.

What Does Tony Robbins Date with Destiny Mean?

When looking at Tony Robbins Date with Destiny, you can see it shows specific concepts that you can apply for self-development.

The most important part of this seminar is to understand what destiny means to you. Many don’t believe they have a destiny and often focus on what it means to simply work, live and be in a similar state as others are around them.

Everyone has a unique and important destiny. We are able to move toward our own realization by recognizing that we are different and have something that we can contribute to the world.

It is also possible to find your destiny by digging deeper and understanding what you are good at. What can you contribute to the world? What are the possibilities for you to reach your complete potential?

Destiny is not one path or one perspective. There are several relationships to destiny and how this helps you to identify with what you want and need within your life. By examining who you are, you move closer to reaching the full potential you want in life.

Tony Robbin's Date with Destiny is designed to show you exactly how important it is to look at what you want and what you need. It helps you to identify the passion you have within your life and to create a different relationship to the self.

Unless we understand who we really are, it is impossible to find our destiny path and create the results we want in our lives.

The path of mastery, the one where we reach our destiny, is based on the ability to step into our own shoes. It requires looking at who we are and finding the deepest parts of our self that we need to develop.

When Tony Robbins speaks about self-development, he encourages each individual to look at who they really are. When we start from that root center, it is easier to expand to other ideals of who we are. This is what creates the changes in our lives and allows us to master our lives and reach our full potential.

Your Challenge: Look Your Destiny in the Eyes

The most important message that Tony Robbins Date With Destiny sends and that I want to convey is that you can’t meet your destiny if you are not aware of the steps you need to take.

Unless you begin to step up and understand what your personality is, it is impossible to unravel who you are and the mystery that is a part of your life. It will be even more difficult to find happiness and contentment with your life.

This is why Tony Robbin's Date with Destiny is designed to help you analyze who you are and what you want to give to the world. When you start to do this, it assists with your ability to maximize your potential and to get even more results.

It wasn’t until I started to focus on my destiny, purpose, and passion that I was able to form Project Life Mastery, become a millionaire, find the love of my life and to move into a different frame of mind. This is why Tony Robbin's Date with Destiny is so important to me.

What if every single person looked at their destiny in this way? There are so many things which you can contribute to and so many things you are able to provide value to the global community. When you understand your personality and character, then you can start to move forward with the same pursuit.

The world would become a different place if we all began to believe in our destiny and how we wanted to passionately contribute to the world.

How do you start?

Use vision boards, analyze the personality traits that Tony Robbins mentions, look deeply at self-development and spend time understanding who you are… every … single … day.

You will change your path to reach your destiny and to reach fulfillment in your life that you really want.

We were all put on this earth to achieve our greatest self and share that purpose with the world. There is no better time than now to take the first step. I hope my Tony Robbins Date with Destiny experience & review has inspired you to attend one of his events.

If you are hungry to grow and overcome your fears, this is the life changing experience that you have been looking for. Warren Buffet said it best – “The best investment that you can make is in yourself.” This is your opportunity to  learn and grow from the best of the best. It will leave you with an innate desire and motivation to shift your life for the better. I can say that it was a truly unique experience, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Awaken the Giant Within: How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical and Financial

I first started reading this book when I was 19 years old. It teaches you the key success principles for how you can change every aspect of your life – beliefs, state, identity, values, etc.

Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill

This is a classic self-help book. Andrew Carnegie, who was the richest man in the world at the time, hired Napoleon Hill to study the most successful people in the world. The goal was to find out what were the most common traits that made people successful.

This book talks about the mindset and the psychology of success. In my business, I emphasize this all the time, that success starts in your mind. 80% is your psychology, and 20% are the mechanics.

It Works: The Tiny Little Read Book That Makes Your Dreams Come True, RHJ

This book teaches you how to set goals. It shares a process and stresses that you should read and review your goals 3x/day. You need to carry those goals with you at all times. If at any moment, you are going through a difficult time in your life, take out that list of goals.

Focus on what you want, consistently, because if you do so, you will be able to manifest your goals.

Man’s Search for Meaning, Viktor Frankl

Frankl was an Austrian psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor, who lived in Auschwitz. This book chronicles his experience as a concentration camp inmate. During his time there, he became fascinated with what made the difference in those that survived Auschwitz, versus those that did not.

He determined that, in any moment of life and suffering, you always have to find an empowering purpose, and if you can find that purpose, that is what will allow you to make it through anything.

He was the first person that determined that it is not your environment that determines how you feel, but rather, it is the meaning you ascribe to your experiences.

The Way of the Superior Man:  A Spiritual Guide to Mastering The Challenges of Women, Work and Sexual Desire, David Deida

This is a book for men. All men should read this book.  This book teaches you how to be in your power, as a man, and how to relate to women. It teaches you that, as a man, living your purpose and truth is attractive to the opposite sex. If you make your purpose about women, oftentimes she won't respect you as much, unless you have a bigger purpose that you are moving towards.

The 4-Hour Work Week, Tim Ferris:  Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, And Join the New Rich

I don’t really believe in the 4-hour work week because it is flawed. The Internet changes so much, so that in 5 or 10 years from now, you will be out of business if you follow this way of life. I believe in having this freedom at specific times in your life, but that it's more important to find your mission and purpose.

The Greatest Salesmen in the World, Og Mandino

This is a fictitious story about a boy who wants to become the greatest salesman in the world. He goes out on a journey and he is instructed to read one scroll, three times a day, for 30 days.  He has to master what is taught inside those scrolls.

I like books that don’t just have theory, but that get you to actually shift your beliefs and mindset. This book forced me to practice the principles in this book, every day.

The Wealthy Barber: The Common Sense Guide to Successful Financial Planning, David Chilton

I read this book when I was 18 years old and I was working for my family business. At the time, my brother, who is 9 years older than me, was learning about investing. He recommended that I read this book.  It’s a story about a guy who goes to a barber and gets financial advice, and the barber ends up becoming wealthy.

Before I read this book, I didn’t know about the importance of paying yourself first. I notice that a lot of people still don’t apply this principle. At the time, I invested in a mutual fund, and although I didn’t have a lot of money, I did invest $25/month.

Now, I'm 30 years old, and my money has been compounding over the years.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad:  What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and The Middle Class Do Not!, Robert Kiyosaki

This is the most popular finance book of all time. It really taught me about assets versus liabilities. It's an easy-read, and it helps you with your mindset around money. This book is based on Kiyosaki’s childhood upbringing, in particular, the attitudes of two men (his rich dad and poor dad), and how they influenced his life.

Cash Flow Quadrant:  Rich Dad's Guide to Financial Freedom, Robert Kiyosaki

This is a great follow-up book to Rich Dad, Poor Dad. I was a dating coach for years and I remember asking one very wealthy client that I had, “What advice do you have for someone that aspires to be financially successful one day?”

He said, “Read all of the books written by Robert Kiyosaki and apply them to your life.” This book shares 4 different quadrants – employee, self-employed, business owner, and investor. The author describes that you do not want to be the employee or the self-employed, but rather, you want to be the business owner and the investor because they work on the business.

The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime, MJ DeMarco

I read this book in Bali a few years ago. This is a no BS kind of book.  It puts down the 9-5 lifestyle and the concept of getting rich slow. It teaches you that all the wealthy financial gurus in the world did not become wealthy by getting rich slow, but rather, they became wealthy in business.

I believe that you need to invest in your business and pay yourself first because business always changes and evolves. The best passive investments that you have are things like, blue stock chips, or real estate investments that pay positive cash flow, I believe in adopting multiple strategies for financial abundance.

This book made me realize that people spend so much time trying to find the best deal, that they don’t realize that their time is worth money.

The Game: Penetrating The Secret Society of Pickup Artists, Neil Strauss

This is a book about picking up women. When I was 17 years old I was very shy, and I set out on a mission to improve my confidence. Neil Strauss was a role model for me.

I don’t agree with what his book teaches because it talks about techniques and lines that you can use on women, and about how you can put women down and deceive them, which I don’t agree with or endorse. That being said, this book impacted me because it demonstrated that being social and meeting women is a learnable skill.

It’s not your looks that attract someone, but rather, you become attractive by improving yourself and by learning how attraction works. I believe that the most important thing you can do to attract someone in your life is to focus on improving yourself.

This is a great book for entrepreneurs that are living and working in their business, and not ON their business. I learned that you are either the visionary or the integrator in your business and that you don’t want to be both. It’s a book designed for someone that may be further ahead in their business journey.

I'm a visionary, not an integrator, so it helped me find an integrator that runs the operations side of my business so that I can focus solely on doing the things that I enjoy.

Brain Over Binge: Why I Was Bulimic, Why Conventional Therapy Didn't Work, and How I Recovered for Good, Kathryn Hansen

This book changed my life. From 2012-2014 I took part in two different fitness competitions, where I had to be less than 10% body fat. I got to the point where I had veins coming out of my abs and I was dieting to extreme levels.

Through this process, you are going through extreme calorie deficits, which triggers our animal brain to binge, because your brain goes into survival mode. It was a very destructive time in my life and it caused a lot of pain.

It teaches you some great beliefs about ways of looking at money.  The end of the book talks about the power of giving your money and being a force for good, which I resonate with.

These books have made an impact in my life in different ways throughout the years, and I hope they inspire you as well! What books have changed your life?

Video transcript

Hey, everyone!  This is Stefan from ProjectLifeMastery.com, and in this video I'm going to share with you the top 25 books that have changed my life.  When I was originally thinking about recording this video, I thought, “Okay, what are the top five books that have really made a difference in my life, and that I would recommend to someone else?” People always ask me, “Stefan, what are the top five or ten books that you would recommend? What should I read?” When I was thinking of my list of my top five books, I couldn't just limit it to five books.

It ended up turning into ten books, and then when I was going through my list of ten books, I couldn't limit it there either, so it turned into fifteen and twenty. Finally, I narrowed it down to twenty-five books that have changed my life.  My life has changed over many different years.  I got into self-development when I was seventeen years old, and thinking back at the different stages of my life, different books that I've read have changed my life at different phases of my life, and in different areas of my life.

I believe that you should always want to improve every aspect of your life so that you are living a balanced, fulfilled life.  I'm going to go over each of the books that I have on my computer.  I don't remember all the author names for the books, so what I'm going to do is, on YouTube, I'm going to link each of the books below in the description, as well as in a blog post that will supplement this video.

Also, I recommend that if you want to get more up-to-date on all the books that I'm reading every year, you can find those in my Monthly Goals Reports, where, every month, I share my goals.  I always have goals to read books, to learn, and grow.  These books are in no particular order.  It's not from best to worst. They have all equally impacted my life.

Awaken The Giant Within by Tony Robbins

Now, the first book that I'm going to share with you that has changed my life is “Awaken The Giant Within”, by Tony Robbins. Many of you know how much Tony Robbins has influenced my life back when I was seventeen years old.  I first started reading the book, “Awaken The Giant Within”, when I was nineteen or twenty years old. I still remember specifically when I read the book.  I was actually flying to Toronto at the time.

This book is powerful.  “Awaken The Giant Within” basically teaches you how you can change every aspect of your life; your beliefs, your state, your identity, your values. It teaches you principles for your health and for your finances.  The key success principles that I think everybody needs to embody in their life. It's actually a book that I've read twice.  I recall how much it made a difference in my life at the time, amongst many other things that I've learned from Tony Robbins.

Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

That is one of the top books that I often recommend to people that has really made a difference in my life.  The #2 book would be, “Think And Grow Rich”, by Napoleon Hill. Think And Grow Rich is a classic self-help book.  Napoleon Hill was hired by Andrew Carnegie, who was the richest man in the world at the time.  Andrew Carnegie had Napoleon Hill go out and study the most successful people in the world to find out what were the common traits and qualities that made people successful.

He went and studied Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and all these incredible people. The book, “Think And Grow Rich”, basically has the best of the best of what it takes to succeed. It's called “Think And Grow Rich” because success starts in your mind.  It's your psychology and your mindset. I've shared many times, how 80% of success is your psychology, whereas only 20% is the how to and the mechanics. This is a fantastic book that really goes into the mindset and the psychology of success. I highly recommend it.

It Works – The Tiny Little Red Book That Changes Lives

The third book that had a big impact in my life is a really short book, but it's powerful. It's a book called, “It Works”. I think the subtitle of the book is, “It Works – The Tiny Little Red Book That Changes Lives”.  It's a famous book that you can read in less than thirty minutes. It's a tiny book like this, it's pretty inexpensive. In the book it teaches how to set goals, and it shares a process for setting goals.  When you have the goals, you want to make sure that you read them three times a day, and carry those goals with you in your back pocket, in your purse, or whatever it is.

Every day you read your goals three times, first thing in the morning, at noon, and before you go to bed. At any moment that you are stressed in your life, frustrated, angry, depressed, or down, all you want to do is take out that list of goals and focus on those.  Focus on where you want to go. Don't focus on what you are afraid of, don't focus on what's not working out. If you just focus on what you want consistently, then you are going to move in that direction, and you are going to be able to manifest and attract what it is that you want. “It Works” is a powerful book.  Everybody should go out and get it.

Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl

Another book that really made a difference in my life is called, “Man's Search For Meaning”, by Viktor Frankl. Viktor Frankl is a psychiatrist who was living in Auschwitz for a certain period of his life. He got taken away from his family, and his wife and kids were killed.  All around him was massive suffering. He determined that, about one in twenty-five people would actually survive. He became fascinated with what it was that made the difference in those human beings that actually survived and made it through Auschwitz.

These people were in an environment where, at any moment, they were going to be gassed or killed, where they were starving to death.  It's a really powerful, eye-opening book about the reality of what went on during that time. What's inspiring about it is that Viktor Frankl studied and focused on what made the difference in someone who was going through this suffering, and how they were able to survive and thrive.

What he determined was that, in any moment of life, in any moment of suffering, you always have to find an empowering meaning and purpose. If you can find the purpose in your suffering, then that will allow you to be able to make it through anything. He was also one of the first people that determined that, it's not your environment that determines how you feel, because you could be in Auschwitz suffering the worst environment, but that does not dictate how you feel.

You can't control the outside world, but you can always control your inner world. He realized that you could still find meaning, happiness and joy, regardless of the environment that you are in.  This book really teaches you how to master your psychology and how to master meaning in your life. Its a very powerful book. I actually bought this book for my mom and my sister. My sister had the book, but I bought it for her again, because I was like, “You know what, you've got to read this book again”.

By the way, I'm a big believer in rereading books at different times in your life, because many of these books that I'm sharing with you, I read when I was seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty-one years old. I'm thirty years old now and they made such a difference for me back then. If you go through books at different times in your life, you are going to get totally different things from them, because you are at different stages of your life.

The Way Of The Superior Man by David Deida

Another book that has made an impact on my life is called, “The Way Of The Superior Man”, by David Deida. This is a book for men. All men should read this book. However, women can also read it as well, if you want to understand men a lot more. David Deida has got a lot of great books.  “The Way Of The Superior Man” is broken up into small chapters, and it teaches you how to be in your power, as a man, how to be in your masculine presence.

It teaches you how to relate to women, how to live your purpose, and how living your purpose is something that is extremely attractive to women.  If you make your purpose about a woman, a lot of times she is not going to respect you as much, unless you have a bigger purpose that you are moving towards. An example I always remember from this book is, let's say you are in a relationship, and you are a guy.

You love your woman and you are in bed in the morning, and you have a certain ritual, a certain discipline of doing your morning ritual.  Let's say that you are with your girl and she says, “Honey, how about we just stay in and cuddle? You don't have to go to the gym. Let's just stay in”.   You say, “Okay”.   You start compromising the disciplines that you had in your life and your higher purpose.  What is going to happen in that moment is, your girlfriend or your wife is going to appreciate that love, but on some levels, she's not going to respect you the same way.

As a man, you still have to love your woman, but at the same time, you need to say, “You know what, I've got to be consistent with the standards that I have in my life.” Or, “You know what, I've got this bigger purpose”.  Even though she might not enjoy that as much, she's going to respect you for it.  This is just one concept in the book, is to be focused on your purpose in life and how that's actually more attractive for women.

I know for myself, at different stages in my life, I was the nice guy and so I would always want to make everyone happy and make women happy, and so I would compromise.  I ended up being this guy who just became needy and clingy, and sure enough, all the attraction disappeared.  You have got to make sure that, as a man, you are still focused on your purpose.

The Four Hour Work Week

Another great book is, “The Four Hour Work Week”.  I've mentioned this book several times. I don't really believe in the four hour work week, it's kind of a myth, because nobody lives the four hour work week, full-time. There might be certain moments that Tim Ferris, myself, and other Internet entrepreneurs that I know, would live the four hour work week for a few months, but the four hour work week is flawed in the sense that, if you just work four hours a week, and you've got an online business, because the Internet is changing so much, in five or ten years from now, you are going to be out of business.

I don't believe in the four hour work week, for life. I believe in having that freedom at different times of your life, and being able to enjoy it, but more importantly, I believe in finding your mission and your purpose in your life, that you enjoy working more than forty hours a week, but that you are doing something because you enjoy it. It's not a chore for you, it's not a job, it's your mission, it's your purpose. This book made an impact in my life because it made me believe in and realize the whole passive income lifestyle.

Tim Ferris did a great job marketing and selling the ‘escape the nine to five and travel the world, and be able to enjoy your life in the process of building your business' mindset. That really influenced me at the time, got me motivated to build online businesses, and pursue it as a lifestyle and a career. I was attracted to the fact that I could travel the world. When I was building my first business I traveled to Thailand and around South East Asia.  I was living this great lifestyle and it was because of the book, “The Four Hour Work Week”.

Beyond that, it also teaches you how to leverage yourself and how to leverage virtual assistance. Tim Ferris did a great job promoting the whole idea that you can outsource things inexpensively to other countries, and have them help you build your business.  This is a great book for anybody that has a 9-5 job that wants to escape it and pursue the Internet lifestyle.

The Greatest Salesman In The World by Og Mandino

Another great book that has made a difference in my life is called, “The Greatest Salesman In The World”, by Og Mandino. This is a book that I recently reread. I read this book when I was nineteen years old.  It's a classic self-help book and it really impacted me when I was nineteen years old.  Og Mandino has a lot of great books that I recommend, but “The Greatest Salesman In The World” is basically a fictitious story about a boy who wants to become the greatest salesman in the world.

He goes to the king and the king basically gives him these scrolls. These scrolls have the different success principles in order to be a successful salesman, to be wealthy, and live a great life. He goes out on this journey and what the instruction is, is that he has to read one scroll, three times a day, for thirty days, and he's got to really master and practice what is taught inside that scroll.  For example, the first scroll is on love and the power of love, and how loving the day and loving people, is one of the most important skills in being able to influence people and live a really great life.

Basically, throughout the book you go on this journey and you are reading these scrolls, which is a chapter, three times a day, morning, noon, and before you go to bed. It really made a big impact in my life because I like books like that. I like books that don't just have a bunch of theory and knowledge, but that get you to actually shift your beliefs, your mindset, and your psychology.

This is a great book that really forced me to practice these principles every day.  Reading one scroll, every day, for thirty days allows you to master it. You know that I'm a big believer in committing to mastery. It's a powerful book.

The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton

It's going to take you a few months to finish it because that's the way it's laid out, but it's a really great book in shifting your psychology.  Another great book that made a difference in my life is called, “The Wealthy Barber”, by David Chilton. This is a book I read when I was eighteen years old. When I was eighteen years old I was working for my Dad in the family business with my brother.  I hated my job, but my Dad wanted me to work in the family business.  I was working in the family business all throughout high school.

I didn't get paid most of the time when I worked for my Dad in the family business. My brother at the time, who is nine years older than me, was learning about investing. He had a mentor in his life who was teaching him about real estate.

He recommended that I read this book.  It's basically a story about a guy who's going to the barber and is getting financial advice, and this barber ends up becoming wealthy. It's basically teaching the principles of paying yourself first, ten percent of what you make.  You have got to pay yourself first.  It teaches about the power of compounding.  The book is more geared towards Canadians, because David Chilton is a Canadian author.  It really impacted my life.

I didn't know about paying yourself first. I started doing it.  I think pretty much every finance book teaches to pay yourself first, but what I notice is that, a lot of people still don't do it. They read the book and for some reason, they don't actually apply it. For me, at eighteen years old, I decided, “You know what? I'm applying it”.  I just started doing that, month after month, and at the time, I had invested in a mutual fund, which was Bank of Montreal.  The minimum investment was five hundred bucks.

I didn't have a lot of money to put in every month, but I put in twenty-five dollars a month on a pre-authorized payment plan. Every single month the money automatically withdrew, so I couldn't even see it. Eventually, it was a hundred dollars a month, and then I found another mutual fund.  This is what I was doing when I was eighteen or nineteen years old. Now, I'm thirty years old, and my money has been compounding, I've continued this habit. Obviously, more of my money goes towards paying myself first. It was a really great book that opened me up to that. It's got a really great story as well.

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

Another powerful book that changed my life was, “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, by Robert Kiyosaki. This was one of the most popular finance books of all time. It really taught me about assets versus liabilities. It's a really easy to read book that helps you with your mindset and your psychology around money. He basically shares a story of his rich dad and his poor dad. His poor dad was his actual biological father, who was actually a school teacher and I think maybe a principal as well, but he was poor.

His rich dad was actually his friend's dad.  He was wealthy and he was getting financial advice from him, and it was contradictory to what most of society believes what his poor dad, his teacher dad, was basically living at the time as well.  This is a really great book that teaches you about the fundamentals of money. I think everybody should read it. Another great book is called, “Cashflow Quadrant”, also by Robert Kiyosaki. This is a good follow-up book to “Rich Dad Poor Dad”. I read this book when I was maybe twenty-two, or twenty-three years old.

I was a dating coach for many years, in my early twenties, and I had this one client that I coached who was an extremely wealthy person.  He was in his fifties or sixties, but he was extremely wealthy. He had homes all around the world. I remember I asked him, “What advice do you have for me, for somebody that wants to be financially successful one day?” He said, “Read all the books by Robert Kiyosaki”.

Cashflow Quadrant

He's like, “You know what, if you just read all those books and apply it, that's the core of what you need to know in order to be financially successful”.  I always remember that advice that he gave me, and so I ended up reading a few more of Robert Kiyosaki's books. Anyway, “Cashflow Quadrant” was a good one.  It basically shares four different quadrants. Let's see if I can remember all of them. One is the E, the employee. One is the self-employed. The third is the business owner. The fourth is the investor.

He basically describes that you do not want to be the employee, and that you do not want to be the self-employed, because a lot of people are self-employed, but they still have a job.  He share that, in the quadrant, you want to be the business owner and the investor. The business owner is the one that works on the business – they have a business that runs and that is independent from themselves. They are not working in the business as an employee. Also, you want to be the investor.  This is great book. Great follow up.  Again, more mindset knowledge around money and investing.

The Millionaire Fastlane by M.J. DeMarco

Another great book that really made an impact in my life is, “The Millionaire Fastlane”, by M.J. DeMarco. This is a book that I read when I was in Bali a few years ago. I read it when I was doing twenty thousand to thirty thousand dollars a month in my business. I read this book and it blew me away. I like books that communicate in a very direct way, like a no BS sort of way, because that just, for me, it resonates more with me, and it's definitely a book like that.

It's a book that really puts down the 9-5, and also it puts down the whole thinking of getting rich slow. Basically, the whole concept contradicts the pay yourself first and compounding mentality.  Things like that I don't necessarily agree with, but the book teaches you that all the wealthy financial gurus did not become wealth by paying themselves first, but rather that they became wealthy in business.

I think business is the best way to really change your finances.  However, at the same time, you have to make sure that you are paying yourself first and  that you are investing in other ways, because business always changes as it evolves.  I think the best passive investments that you can have are stocks that pay dividends, that are blue chips, or real estate that pays positive cash flow. I'm a big believer in investing your money in those ways, and having multiple strategies for financial abundance. This is the long-term approach.

This is a great book on mindset.  This book shares that there are a lot of people out there that are always looking for deals. I'll give you an example, my Mom.  I love my Mom, but she's always taking all the coupon books and trying to find the best coupons and shopping around, in order to find the best possible deal.

I was this way at certain moments in my life as well, and what this book made me realize is that, a lot of people are spending so much of their time trying to find the best deals, that they don't realize that their time is worth money.  You have got to identify exactly how much your time is worth, because if one hour of your time is worth ten dollars, twenty dollars an hour, fifty dollars an hour, a hundred dollars an hour, or a thousand dollars an hour, you have got to be aware of that.

Aa lot of people will spend time and actually lose money because they are trying to save a couple of dollars or a couple of cents on a deal. I remember at one moment in Bali, my friend and I were spending all this time trying to find the best hotel and the best deal to get a massage or whatever it is, and we would spend three hours looking to save five or ten dollars. It didn't make any sense.  From this experience, I remember understanding the value of time, and that you want to be very efficient with your time.

FU Money by Dan Lok

In some cases, you want to spend more money if it's going to save you time, because your time is more valuable than money. Another book is called, “FU Money”, by my friend, Dan Lok. Ive shared this book before.  This is a book that was given to me by Dan Lok at a seminar that he gave in Vancouver. I read this book when I flew to Thailand and I was building my online business.  I was pretty new to it at the time, and it really helped me with my mindset and psychology around building an online business.

It was a very inspirational book for me at the time. I was in total desperation mode, committed to doing whatever it took to succeed online. It really impacted my life. I actually shared this book a few years ago on my YouTube channel, and a lot of people went and bought Dan's book as a result of it.  Dan Lok noticed this, or someone told him, and he reached out to me. Here was someone that was once a mentor in my life, reaching out to me, and now Dan and I have become friends and I've spoken at his events and whatnot.  I interviewed him on my YouTube channel.

Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker

This is the really cool thing about how you can meet your mentors one day. Oftentimes, it's when you've added value to them in some way.  Another great book that changed my life, and that made a huge impact, is called, “Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind”, by T. Harv Eker. This is a book that really helps you understand your money blueprint.  It teaches you, that, oftentimes, we sabotage ourselves, financially.  If you only believe that you are worthy of a certain amount of money, and you associate pain to money, for example, then you are going to sabotage yourself.  You will maybe make a certain level of money, and then you are going to lose it.

T. Harv Eker is one of those guys that has a no BS approach.  He is very direct.  I resonate with that approach. There's a seminar they have called, “The Millionaire Mind Intensive” and they have different programs. Yeah, I've definitely gotten a lot of value from that book.  It really impacted my mindset at the time.

The Way Of The Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman

Another great book is called, “The Way Of The Peaceful Warrior”, by Dan Millman. This is a really powerful self-help book, a spiritual book, that really helped me with my beliefs around success, happiness, and fulfilment. It's a great story, and there's actually a movie called, “The Peaceful Warrior” that I recommend as well.  A powerful movie. There's also a follow-up called, “The Wisdom Of The Peaceful Warrior”, which is another good book. Anyways, “The Peaceful Warrior” is about a boy who is going to college, and his name is Dan and he wants to be an Olympic athlete.

He is so caught up in his ego and on being attached to the outcome.  He meets this man named, Socrates. who is an older man.  I'm not going to ruin the story, but Socrates basically enters into his life, gives him advice, challenges him in many different ways, and helps him become a peaceful warrior.  This is a powerful book, a powerful story, and a powerful movie.  I highly recommend it.

The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle

Another great book that changed my life is, “The Power Of Now”, by Eckhart Tolle.  I read this book when I was twenty-one years old, and it taught me about the power of being present, and how everything comes down to right now, this moment, and being present in the moment. It's a book that I should probably reread, because it's one of those books that is so powerful and profound that you want to go through it several times and really practice living in the now. That was definitely a book that made a big difference for me.

The Depression Cure

Another powerful book that changed my life is called, “The Depression Cure”.  I don't quite remember the authors name, and again, I'm going to link to all these books in the description as well as on the blog post. “Depression Cure” basically teaches you how to naturally cure depression. I've had moments in my life, years ago, especially when I was in high school, where I was depressed. I didn't know why I was depressed. I used to skip school and try to escape through video games, watching TV, movies and whatnot.

I'm a big believer in exhausting all the natural resources out there that exist before you ever consider drugs or anything to solve a problem.  I don't view drugs as a sustainable solution. This book goes into depression and how the doctor studied the Amish. The Amish are people that haven't changed or evolved their lifestyles in many years.  They live as if they've been living a hundred years ago. What he found, is that very few of the Amish people are actually depressed. He goes into how, a lot of depression is caused by our lifestyle.

Basically, as human beings, we're living in a world, an environment, a lifestyle, that is not how we are designed. He shares in the book five things to naturally cure your depression, and he shares stories of clients and people that he works with. One of them is exercise. Exercise has been proven to be one of the best natural antidepressants out there, even more so than drugs.  When you work out every day, you are releasing endorphins, and it's proven to help elevate your mood.

Human beings were made to hunt, to move, to exercise, to go out and about, and collect water.  That's why depression has been a rare thing amongst the Amish.  We are not made to sit indoors all day. Another thing that it shared is sunlight. As human beings, we are not made to be indoors, we are not made to be away from the sun. The sun and vitamin D is proven to help your mood. A lot of people get seasonal mood disorder, I forget exactly what the acronym is.

Basically, in cloudy, rainy environments, people will go into more depressive states.  I've noticed that for myself. I live in Vancouver, a beautiful city, but it gets very cloudy and rainy, and definitely my mood gets affected by that.  We are meant to spend a lot of time outside. It also shares that Omega 3s are very important for your happiness and for curing your depression, because human beings always used to get a lot of omega 3s from fish, nuts and different vegetables.

Now, a lot of our diet is deficient in that. You have got to make sure that you supplement with it.  The book has a lot of different solutions and things that can help you naturally be able to overcome depression and be happier.  Whether you are depressed or not, it's a great book that will help you be happier. As you can see, a lot of these books are in different areas of life. That is what I'm a big believer in – improving yourself in every aspect of life.

The Game by Neil Strauss

Another great book that really changed my life was called, “The Game”, by Neil Strauss. Now, if you're a guy, you might have heard of this book before. It's basically a book about pick-up artists and picking out women and this whole sort of thing. I read this book when I was twenty-one years old.  I got into improving myself to meet women when I was seventeen years old. At the time, this was well before the book, “The Game”, and I was just on message boards at the time, researching and learning in different articles and resources like that.

People like Neil Strauss and other people that were in the book, “The Game”, used to interact with each other online, on different message boards, and it was kind of like an underground society, and it still is. Anyways, the book, “The Game” came out, and at the time, I was so shy.  I was trying to improve my social skills and my confidence. Neil Strauss was a role model for me.

I don't agree with what the book teaches.  It's not a good book, in terms of actually learning how to pick up women because it basically teaches all these techniques, routines, lines, and openers, and teaches you ways that you can put women down and deceive them.  I do not agree with or endorse these beliefs in any way. Many of you guys saw the YouTube video that I put out a few days ago, on how the most important thing with dating and attracting someone is to become attractive, to improve yourself.

I'm a big believer in a more of a natural, honest approach, that consists of integrity and adding value to everyone that you meet. You should always want to leave everyone that you meet better off for having met you.  However, the book impacted me a lot at the time because it really demonstrated that meeting women is a skill, a learnable skill, it's something that you can improve, change, and grow. It's not your looks that attract someone.

You can trigger attraction.  You can create attraction by improving yourself and learning how attraction works. Beyond that, it's a very entertaining book, and a really great story. Neil Strauss is one of my favorite writers.  If you're a guy, it's an entertaining book, but I would not literally take the advice of the book.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Another great book is called, “The Alchemist”, by Paulo Coelho.  I remember I read it when I went to Cuba actually when I was maybe twenty-three years old or something like that. Very powerful book, great story, it's a very powerful fiction story, inspirational book. I really enjoyed the writing of it. It basically shares a story about finding your purpose. That's a great book.

Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins

Another great book that changed my life was, “Unlimited Power”, by Tony Robbins. This is a book that Tony Robbins wrote before “Awaken The Giant Within”. It basically goes into a lot of NLP strategies. I've since studied NLPs.  I'm an NLP practitioner now.  This is a really great introductory book to NLP and it provides a lot of different techniques for neuro-linguistic programming, and how you can change yourself; your behaviors, thoughts, and emotions.

Rocket Fuel

Another great book is called, “Rocket Fuel”.  Rocket Fuel is a book that I read this year. It's a great book for entrepreneurs that are living and working in their business, and not on the business. What I learned from the book is that, you are either the visionary or  the integrator in your business, and you don't want to be both. If you are the integrator, you need to find a visionary, and if you are a visionary, you need to find an integrator. This is more of a book designed for someone that might be further ahead in their business journey.

For me, it was the perfect book at the perfect timing, because it was something that I was struggling with at the time in my business.  I didn't have a manager in place. I didn't have an integrator, because, for me, I'm the visionary in my business. That was a powerful book in helping me find an integrator, which I have now in my business.  This person now runs the operations of my business for me, so that I can focus on creating content, coaching and doing the things that I really enjoy.

Get Up!: Why Your Chair Is Killing You And What You Can Do About It

Another powerful book is a book that I recently read a few months ago called, “Get Up”. I mentioned this book in a few videos. It's called “Get Up!: Why Your Chair Is Killing You And What You Can Do About It”.  It basically changed my life, because it propelled me to get a treadmill desk. It helps you realise that sitting is killing us.  It's worse for us than smoking. I think they said in the book that, every hour that you are sitting, you are cutting off three hours of your life, and they provide all the research and studies to support it. It's just a really powerful book.

My treadmill desk is something that has changed my life.  I live a job that involves being in front of the computer, and working from home, and it requires a lot of sitting. It really made me realize how that's affecting my mood, my happiness, and my energy levels. Many different factors come from the importance of exercising and moving more throughout the day.  That was a great book. If you are somebody that spends a lot of time sitting throughout the day, this is a life-changing book, and I do recommend watching the YouTube video that I had on my treadmill desk, because that has been one of the best investments that I've ever made and it's really changed my life as well.

The Introvert Advantage

Another great book that changed my life, a recent book, is called The Introvert Advantage. Don't recall the author name, but again, I'll link to it below. Introvert Advantage basically shares with you the power of being an introvert and how a lot of society we reward other people for being extroverts. Extroverts are rewarded and everybody wants to be an extrovert, but in many cases being an introvert has actually a lot of amazing benefits to it, and so a lot of people, they feel guilty that they're not more social or they're not more extroverted.

This book makes you realize and understand how being an introvert is powerful. A lot of the most successful people in the world and throughout history are introverts. Introverts typically have deeper relationships with people, whereas extroverts have more friends, but more on the surface. Introverts are more comfortable being by themselves. Extroverts, they feel lonely if they're by themselves, they always have to be around people. Introverts are able to focus better. Extroverts have a hard time focusing and oftentimes are a little bit all over the place. It just really helps you understand how you have an incredible advantage if you are an introvert. Recommend the book.

Brain Over Binge

Another great book that changed my life is called, “Brain Over Binge”. This book changed my life, because in 2012 and 2014 I did two different fitness competitions. I did fitness modelling competitions where I basically had different trainers, and I had to be less than ten percent body fat, and getting to the point where I had veins coming out of my abs.  I was dieting to extreme levels to get up on stage and be in front of a crowd.  You are basically going through the process of fat loss, at extreme calorie deficits, which basically triggers our animal brain to binge, because your brain goes into survival mode and it needs to eat food.  There was no amount of willpower that I could tap into in order to overpower it.

It was something that was really destructive in my life.  It caused a lot of pain in my life.  I hired coaches to help me, I read many different books, and really tried to understand what was going on. The book, “Brain Over Binge” is a story about a girl who has binge eating disorder and she's bulimic.  She went through extreme phases of extreme calorie deficit and then binging and exercising for five hours the next day to burn off the calories.

It's just a very destructive thing. People that have had binge eating disorder can relate to this book.  I did a great YouTube video a few years ago on how to overcome binge eating. That video got a couple of hundred thousand views. People always share with me how that video has changed their life, and I recommend this book in it. That book really helped me overcome binge eating disorder. That was a great book that really impacted my life.

Money Master The Game by Tony Robbins

I think we are at the last book here.  I'm going to finish up this one. By the way, I want you to share books as well. I'm streaming this right now to Periscope and Facebook, so I'm going to ask you guys some of your favorite books. I'd love to hear yours as well. The last one, just to top it off, is called “Money Master:  The Game”, by Tony Robbins. You know that I'm a big Tony fan. This is a book that I read last year. I got it before it was released at his seminar, “Unleash The Power Within”.

A lot of what is in the book I already know, but it really helped me understand it more.  It goes over paying yourself first and compound interest, but it made me associate even more to that, and that I need to do more. After reading that book I was like, “Shit! I've got to invest more of my money. I've got to pay myself even more, and I've got to find a way to do it. I've got to make this the most important financial decision of my life”.  This book really motivated me to do that more.

It had some great new beliefs and ways of looking at money, and it also shared indexing with me, strategies from billionaires, etc.  The end of the book is great too, because it goes into the power of giving; giving your money, philanthropy and being a force for good.  I really resonate with that.  It also motivated me to give more with respect to building houses, and in building schools that I've been involved with, and also now being involved with helping with human trafficking.

Conclusion

That's it, guys. Those are my top twenty-five books. Honestly, going through this, there are actually more. There are actually a number of biographies and whatnot that I can go into as well. I wanted to cap it at twenty-five books. No particular order, all of them are great books, all have been great for me at different moments and different phases of my life. Depending on the phase of life that you are in, and what your focus is in, there might be certain books that benefit you more, but I think all these books are great books to have in your library, that you should read.  Honestly, a lot of these books I should reread again, because it's been many years since I've read them, and sometimes you forget things.

I was actually impressed to be able to share certain things on each book that have resonated and that have made an impact in my life. I would love to hear what your top books are. I love to read and I love to learn.  You don't have to share your top twenty-five but maybe share one, two or three of your top five books that changed your life, and that made a difference in your life. I'd love to hear what those are, and it would also be a great way to contribute to others.

I'm always buying more and more books.  I've got tons of books on my Kindle now.  I just got the Kindle Oasis too. I have the Kindle Paperlight and the Oasis. Leave a comment, share which books have made a difference for you. If you enjoyed this video, make sure you hit the like button and give it a thumbs up.

In his Business Mastery seminar, Tony Robbins teaches that there are 7 forces of business mastery, which are designed to help businesses avoid failure by constantly evolving, improving and adding value. This was an effective part of the seminar that I wanted to highlight as a part of the Tony Robbins business mastery review.

These 7 Forces of Business Mastery are listed below:

#1 Create an effective business map.

You need to understand your business, what business that you are really in, what business that you need to be in, who your customer/client is, and who your customer/client really needs to be.

Furthermore, it’s important to identify who you are in you your business and what your nature is. Tony Robbins describes three types of people:

Artist

Entrepreneur

Manager/Leader

We all have a certain nature that we resonate with more. When you are starting a business, everyone starts as an entrepreneur and develops skills in those areas.

However, keep in mind that if you are an entrepreneur in your business, but it is not in alignment with your true nature, you will not be successful.

For example, my nature is as an artist and a skilled producer. I love creating and helping people. I love adding massive value. This is my mission and my passion. It doesn’t feel like work.

I also have entrepreneurial skills, but that isn’t my nature. I'm capable of it, but it's not who I am.

When you are first starting out, you may not know who you are, but you need to narrow down what part of your business that you love the most, and then go and find someone that you can partner with who can support you in areas where you aren’t the strongest.

#2 Strategic innovation.

Peter Drucker believed that business is about innovation and marketing.

You have to constantly innovate in a strategic way. You have to fall in love with your customer, not your product.

The reality is that products eventually become irrelevant. However, if you fall in love with your customer, you will always improve your products so that you can continue to add value.

#3 World-class marketing and product promises.

Marketing is always being able to find a way to get your product out there – sell, promote and reach a mass amount of people, and that is a process that you have to continuously improve.

You can't have the same marketing message. You need to adapt with the trends, as they evolve. The companies that don’t adapt get left behind.

#4 Sales mastery systems.

Have a strong sales system is imperative to the success of your business.

#5 Financial and legal analysis.

You need to understand the finances of your business and be able to anticipate changes. Anticipation is power.

#6 Optimize your people and processes.

Optimize the processes, marketing and innovation of your business so that you can scale up and grow.

#7 Create raving fans and culture

Add more value than anyone else, and pride yourself on it.

In doing so, you will find people that are so passionate about you and your brand, that they end up being a customer for life.

For example, people love Apple. That is the power of raving fans. They identify with their brand, which proves that people buy feelings, not products.

The reality is that 80% of success is our mindset, and 20% are the mechanics.

Your chokehold is always your mind – the limiting beliefs, inner conflicts, fears, and doubts that you carry. These are the things that are holding you back from success. This was an important message that I received and wanted to emphasize as a part of the Tony Robbins business mastery review.

The ultimate emotion in a business that creates success is resourcefulness – you need to cultivate this.

Business is for gladiators, who break through walls, jump over hurdles, and always find a way to achieve success.

Ask yourself – what are the limitations that are holding you back? Identify those beliefs and master your psychology.

Tony Robbins’ late mentor, Jim Rohn, once said, “Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.”

Your Take Away for the Tony Robbins Business Mastery Review

It’s time to look at what you really want to achieve with your business and to apply what Tony Robbins introduces through his seminar.

I found that applying even one of the takeaways from this review has given me a completely different insight on how to run my business and to extend what I’m doing with the online world. It has offered unique insights and life-changing approaches to everything I do.

What is so profound with the Tony Robbins Business Mastery review is that it turns business into you. It is about your strengths, your capacity and your ability to create the life you want.

When we look at business in terms of “formal structures,” we become engaged with the “how to” tactics of marketing or organizational development.

Everything you decide to is related to your consciousness, awareness, and mindset. The best business hack you can give yourself is the ability to create the business you really want.

When you apply the mindset and attitude to your business, you will see profound results. It will give you insights that you never thought you could have. You will find solutions that lead you to a state of mastery instead of just following the cycle of businesses, often which lead to failure.

What is the difference between a company that succeeds and fails?

Mindset.

The Tony Robbins Business Mastery review is my way of showing you that the top personal development individual in the field understands that this is a key tactic in the industry.

Look closely at the insights that are provided here and allow them to guide you to your next steps with your business and what you decide to do.

More important, look at the mindset that holds you back from what you want to achieve. Look at the areas, especially in your subconscious, that make you believe you are going to fail. Identify those areas that create a negative cycle – instead of a positive one.

I found that when I changed my mindset, my business changed. My relationships changed. And I changed. I became more grateful, positive and able to build the life I wanted. I found that there was more to my life than I ever imagined – from abundance to happiness.

That’s what I want for you. But it starts with the beliefs you have and how you apply this to your business.

It is the only difference you need to achieve your dreams and live the life you want.

If you have the opportunity to attend one of Tony Robbins’ seminars, I highly recommend you go. It will change your life and your business for the better.

After having attended Unleash The Power Within several times, Date With Destiny and Leadership Academy, I would say that Tony Robbins Business Mastery is one of my favorite and best seminars I've attended.

I have created a new and improved version of K Money Mastery which is called, Mastering Book Publishing!

Have you always dreamed of writing a book?  Now is the time to do so.

Self-publishing has become a popular trend today and there are countless success stories of first-time authors who have made a career for themselves.

How are they doing it? By publishing e-Books on Amazon.com.

Amazon has constructed an entire eBook publishing platform that allows any author to reach potentially more than a billion readers around the world. Learning how to tap into Amazon's marketing machine will ensure that you build a strong platform and come out on top.

Let's jump ahead – so you've written an amazing book and now you’re ready to tell the world about it, but before you do that, you need some reviews. Reviews are very important to your publishing success because they legitimize your work as an author.  It's important to remember that all reviews are good; they are opportunities to learn and gain feedback in order to improve your book.

Getting real honest reviews is tough…or is it?

In this video, I will share with you some of the best long-term, sustainable strategies that people can implement in order to get honest reviews on Amazon that are compliant with their guidelines.

Video transcript

Hi, everyone. This is Stefan from projectlifemastery.com, and in this video, I'm going to show you guys how to get honest Amazon reviews for your Kindle books. I recently did a video blog sharing the best way to get Amazon reviews. If you haven't already watched that, I recommend it.

Go back; I'll have a link in the description or maybe somewhere on this video as an annotation. Go to that video because I share really how Amazon thinks and the best way, the most long-term and sustainable way to get reviews for your Kindle books or really any product on Amazon.

To summarize that, I do recommend watching it because it's a really good and powerful video. To summarize that, you have to understand what Amazon wants. They want you as a publisher and an author to basically publish your book on their platform, and then go out there and market the hell out of it. Go to social media, blogs, YouTube.

Use all the different channels and opportunities that are available online and market your product, market your book on Amazon or Kindle book. Then basically have customers organically leave reviews. They want to make sure reviews are legitimate, they're honest, they're not manipulating the system in any way.

If you are, if you're violating Amazon's review guidelines, they're likely to get deleted or removed. If you're massively manipulating the system then you could potentially get in trouble with Amazon, which is just bad news and you want to avoid.

I focus on the long term, the sustainable strategies, to get reviews on Amazon. However, I will share with you guys, in this video, a really powerful strategy. Something that you can do if you're just launching a brand new book on Kindle. This is something that I teach, inside of my Mastering Book Publishing course, which is a really awesome online training program on how to publish and sell Kindle books on Amazon.

Create a launch list

One of the best strategies that I can recommend for people to get honest reviews that are compliant with Amazon's guidelines, they're not going to get deleted or removed, is basically creating what I call a launch list. For every book that you sell on Kindle, you want to make sure that you have a launch strategy for that book.

Oftentimes, if you're brand new, you just want to get your book out there. You don't want to have as much friction to start selling. You want to start selling right away.

As you gain more experience as a publisher and as an author, you want to be more strategic with every book that you're going to publish and launch. You don't just want to put a book out there. Oftentimes you want to hype it up. You want to build it up, just like if you go and see a movie or something like that. They recently had the Batman versus Superman.

They hyped that thing up, that movie, for several months beforehand. What that does, is when you hype things up and you prepare for that, then it creates all this buzz. It creates this excitement and then when it's finally available, you have people who are raving fans that are rabid fans. People that just can't wait to get there on it and watch the movie.

That's how these big studios and movies and everything are able to do millions and millions of dollars.

Similar to Apple. When Apple launches a product they don't just put out a product like a new iPhone and say go buy it. They announce it. They build up a lot of hype for it. Sure enough, when it does become available, people are waiting outside the Apple store and everything, twenty-four hours in advance or whatever, just to be able to go and buy the new iPhone or whatever.

That's the power of a successful launch. That's how you want to think. You want to develop a strategy for every book that you're going to launch. Getting reviews, honest reviews, is part of that strategy. One strategy that I have is building a launch list. For every book that you're going to publish what you want to do is you can either put it either available on a pre-sale, which is a new feature that KDP has in Kindle Direct Publishing.

You can have a book as a pre-sale option where basically the book is available to purchase. People can leave reviews on your Amazon listing, but they can't yet download and receive the book. You decide when the book becomes available, in which case then they're going to receive the book and be able to download it and read it. The pre-sale option is a great feature but it's not required. You can utilize the strategy even without doing that.

Let's say that you have a book, it's on weight loss. It's a weight loss book. In order to get reviews and build up the hype and the buzz, and be able to give your book that boosts right out of the gate when you launch it; what I recommend for people to do is build a launch list. Basically, if you have a weight loss book, you want to find all the people out there.

Reach out to people

Find different audiences and demographics of people that are going to be interested in your book on weight loss. For example, you can go on different message boards and forums. You can go to different Facebook groups. You can go on LinkedIn.

You can go on Twitter. Even on Twitter, you can do a search for weight loss and you can see all the people that are tweeting about weight loss. You can reach out to these people. You can reach out to these people on message boards, on Facebook, et cetera, on Reddit.

You can reach out to these people and say, “Hey, I notice you're interested in weight loss. I've got this great book that can help you. It's a great book on weight loss. It has a lot of different tips and strategies on how to lose weight. I think you'll really enjoy it. I'd love to send you this book for free.” Or, “This book is going to be free on a free promotion from this time to this time.”

Or, “The book's going to be heavily discounted, only ninety-nine cents on this day. I'd love for you to check it out and receive value from this. In exchange, would you mind sharing your thoughts, leaving an honest review on Amazon? If it's great, share that it's great. If it's bad, then share potential feedback you might have for me.”

By doing that, by reaching out to a lot of people, what I often do is I reach out to a mass number of people that are targeted, that are interested in the subject of my book, the niche. You want to make sure people are targeted. Reach out to all those people. Get people that will say yes, they'll agree to it or whatever. In which case you can either send them the PDF of the book, the actual book file directly to their email.

Your book as gift

You could gift them the book as well, on Amazon. Amazon has a gifting feature. You can even send people a gift card to buy your book. There are different ways of delivering your book to people. You basically … They'll agree to it and then you add them to what is basically an Excel spreadsheet.

I keep track of everyone in Excel spreadsheet. This is my launch list. These are all the people that have agreed. Their name, their email. They've agreed to check on my book and leave a review. I've made it clear to them that the book is going to be available in these days and times.

I ask them if they're able to … I give them enough notice, but I ask them to be able to leave a review on this day, or during this week, or during this two week period because that's my launch period. I want to get all those reviews for the book or the product.

Just by doing that what happens is, you reach out to a lot of people. You build this list. Over time, you keep doing this, you're going to have a list of over a hundred people that you can go to, to get a hundred reviews for your book. Every time you're going launch a new product, a new book on Amazon, you can basically go to your launch list that you've built up maybe over several months or even several years.

You go to your launch list and you say, “Hey, I've got a new book available now. Has a new book on weight loss.” Or this book's on dieting or this book's exercise. “I'd love for you to check it out. I'll send you access to it and leave an honest review.”

You can already see how powerful this is. The ultimate way of doing this is by building an email list, which is basically a list of your customers. That will happen over time. That is something you're going to want to focus on if you're going to be publishing on selling Kindle books. You want to use it as an opportunity to build an email list of your customers because then you can build a relationship with them.

They've already read your books. They've already received value from you in some way. You want to build that email list eventually. Having this launch list and basically just putting in the time and finding potential reviewers of your book, people that would be interested in it and building that up. That's very powerful.

Disclaimers from people you know

You do have to be aware of Amazon's guidelines. For example, some of their guidelines are like, they don't want people that know the author or the publisher to leave a review. That's kind of a gray area. People still do that. Amazon will delete those reviews. They have somehow, some way of knowing that your mom left a review for your book.

However, I do recommend that if you are going to reach out to people, whether it's your friends on social media or people you might know or whatever, make sure that they're leaving a disclaimer in their review. Basically by having a disclaimer in the review and saying I've received this product for free in exchange for leaving a review, often times that will be enough for Amazon.

They'll be okay with it. If they received the product for free, you sent them a PDF or whatever it is, of the book, making sure that they disclose that. The relationship that they might have with you. Even if it's like … Again I don't want to share anything that might be against Amazon's guidelines.

Let's say that your sister left a review on your book. She's like, screw Amazon's guidelines, I want to leave a review on your book. By her saying in the review that I'm the sister of this author or this publisher, again that's something Amazon likes to see. That's just basically making the review more honest for the potential customer as well.

That, I believe, is one of the best ways, the best strategies for getting reviews for your book or your product. It does take time, I understand that. I wish I could just give you guys a shortcut, like a quick fix or whatever. Oftentimes people are looking for that.

Success requires work

Oftentimes the more sustainable, long-term methods that are going to lead to the most success, they require work.

They require putting in the time and working hard. I wish I could just give you guys a lazy way of getting reviews. Again, like I said, if you focus on those short term strategies, you can get a lot of reviews but then they're going to disappear.

I've seen that time and time again with publishers. They buy reviews. They're doing things that are clearly against Amazon's guidelines. Maybe they get a bunch of reviews for their book but then within a few weeks or a few months all those reviews disappear. If your book was selling and it was ranked high on Amazon, now all of a sudden it has a sudden drop and then your kind of restarting all over again to try to build that book back up.

By building this launch list … Again you want to find where people are hanging out that are interested in your book, that want to receive your book. There are so many different places online.

Go for the top reviewers on Amazon

Even just going after the top reviewers on Amazon because Amazon rewards people for leaving reviews on Amazon. They actually have a whole ranking list of the top reviewers on Amazon. A lot of them, they want to receive products or books for free to leave reviews because that's all they do all day. They'll have their contact information on their Amazon profile.

That's another way too, that you can reach out to people and find people that can potentially leave reviews for your books. By putting the time, guys, hustling and grinding and reaching out to people and building that launch list, that's a powerful asset you have now for every book that you launch.

Even if at the beginning you only start out with ten people or fifteen people, that's ten or fifteen reviews that you can get on your book either before it's available for sale on Amazon or right out of the gate. Right when you launch that book, you can get those ten or fifteen reviews just like that. Because you have those reliable people that have already agreed to receive your book and leave reviews for you.

Again, I do want to encourage, because the title of this video is, To go after Honest Reviews, you don't want fake reviews. You don't want people to lie. You want people to honestly share their thoughts on your book. If your book is good and it warrants five stars, they'll leave a five-star review. If it's not good, if it's one star or two-star book, then leave that as a review or at least directly communicate with me and provide feedback that I can use to make it better.

All reviews are good

Every review is an opportunity for you to learn and have feedback to improve your book to make it better and better. Like you guys are watching this video right now, if you like it, hit the like button. If you don't like it, click the dislike button. You know, I want you to share honestly how you feel. If you're receiving value, great. If not, then let me know that, because that's valuable feedback that I can utilize to make my videos, my YouTube channel better and better.

My whole focus in business, in marketing, is always becoming better, always improving and trying to add as much value as possible. That's one of the best ways, I feel, to get honest reviews for your Kindle book. Of course, if you guys want to learn more about how to market your book and sell your book on Amazon and on Kindle, I've got a great online training program called, Mastering Book Publishing.

It's helped hundreds and hundreds of people make money online from Kindle Publishing. Even people that have gone on to make a six figure income from online publishing, which is pretty remarkable to me. If you guys want to learn more about my progra, check out the link below. I have created a new and improved version of K Money Mastery which is called, Mastering Book Publishing!

2013 is coming to an end and 2014 is right around the corner.  Can you believe it? I wanted to share an in-depth update of my 2013 goals and summarize the successes and failures of 2013.  In January of 2013, I publicly stated my New Year Resolutions right here on my blog as a way to be open and be accountable to them.  While I didn't achieve everything that I set out to achieve, I did make some amazing progress in my life.  I had some major successes that have changed my life for the better, and have also had a few failures.  I share them all below.  Also, I've included an important exercise for you to complete before you even consider setting your 2014 goals and resolutions.  Make sure to act upon it!

My 2013 New Year Resolutions Final Update

I'm going to list the goals and resolutions that I publicly stated in my 2013 New Year Resolutions blog post and give you a final update on each of them.

1) I will easily be 160 lbs. at 6% body fat and compete in the WBFF Fitness Model Competition on July 13, 2013.

RESULT: I didn't achieve this goal.  When I committed myself to the WBFF, I had the conflict of being in a relationship at the same time.  I found it extremely challenging to follow a specific diet and track calories, especially since I was more interested in having fun and going on dates with my girlfriend at the time.  I found myself going to restaurants and movies, which made it very difficult to get lean and attempt to compete with.  I ended up changing this goal in February 2013, just to be 160 lbs at 6% body fat.  I'm now 160 lbs at around 9-10% body fat, so I still came up short on the weight/body fat side of things.

LESSON: To make sure I am REALLY committed to the goals that I set and I anticipate the potential challenges that may arise, and prepare for them.  If I had a stronger WHY, then this goal could have been achieved.  I also need to work on my willpower while in a relationship, and make sure that I maintain my own standards of health and fitness.  I've also learned how important health and fitness is for me, and to make sure that the next relationship I'm in that the person is also aligned with me in this area.

2) I will easily make $10,000/month passive income on Kindle by December 31, 2013. (Successfully completed)

RESULT: I achieved this goal!  This was a goal that really motivated me and something that I pushed hard to achieve.  When I started having some success with Kindle in 2012, I knew the potential it had for me in 2013.  I really focused on learning as much as I could about Kindle and experimenting with things on my own.  Once I got down a consistent method, I began to scale it up and hired a full-time virtual assistant to run 90% of my Kindle publishing for me.  Achieving this goal also helped me be able to share what I was doing with others, which started with 1-on-1 coaching, and later turned into my Mastering Book Publishing program.

LESSON: If you work hard and have the right strategy, anything is possible.  The key thing I learned is making sure that you have a strategy that WORKS.  Once you have that, you just rinse and repeat it.  You can easily scale it up.  Too often in the past I was building businesses that were difficult to scale or automate.  I also learned to do things the RIGHT way and to ensure that my method is down first before I attempt to scale it up.  I also had a few challenges here, where I had to remove some books because I was violating a trademark or copyright infringement, and my income dipped a bit.  But overall I learned from it and it will serve me better moving forward.

3) I will easily buy an investment property by December 31, 2013. (Successfully completed!)

RESULT: I achieved this goal!  I bought a 1 bedroom condo as an investment property in April of 2013 and have been renting it out since to a tenant.  The rent covers the mortgage and expenses, which means that every month this investment is building my equity and net worth.

LESSON: Investing in real estate requires patience.  I was trying to force it before and achieve it by a certain date, which wasn't the best way to do it.  I also learned that real estate isn't the most “passive” investment out there.  This place has required quite a bit of time to list it on Craigslist, show it to people, dealing with flakey people, etc… which was a pain for me since my time is better used elsewhere.  I had a tenant rent it for a few months, but then broke the lease and I had a bit of drama.  I was able to keep the damage deposit, but it was a pain and a bit stressful to rent it out again.  It's all good now, but overall a lot of challenges came up that I wasn't expecting.  Investing in mutual funds, or even my own business, is a better use of my money, however it's still great to diversify yourself with other investment strategies and to learn other areas.  Very happy I achieved this goal and the lessons it's provided for me!

4) I will easily launch my first product on Project Life Mastery by December 31, 2013. (Successfully completed – Mastering Book Publishing)

RESULT: I achieved this goal!  I first originally launched my Life Mastery book, which was something I wanted to do for some time.  I launched it first as a Kindle e-book, then later as a paperback.  It's received some great reviews since and I've had a lot of positive feedback on it.  In August of 2013, I launched my Mastering Book Publishing course and it's done amazing since.  It took me months to put it all together and create it, and cost me thousands of dollars to perfect it at the standard that I wanted.  Overall, it was the best thing I did in 2013 and has helped hundreds of people.  We now have over 700 members and it's growing everyday.  I've received so many amazing messages and e-mails since releasing this, with people sharing with me how it's changed their lives or how they're now making hundreds or thousands of dollars every month through what I've taught them (or at least that's what they tell me!).  I absolutely love and am proud of this product, and I continue to improve it every month.

LESSON: Launching a product isn't an easy task, but is worth it.  It required me to learn a lot, I hired a coach, and I spent many late nights working on this project.  I learned that if I work hard, believe in myself and take massive action – I can make anything happen!  I feel these products have made a huge difference in peoples lives and it's been the most rewarding thing I've done.  I've learned it's my calling to deliver high quality products to others and help people!

5) I will easily move to Yaletown into a beautiful 1 bedroom and office apartment by December 31, 2013.

RESULT: I didn't achieve this goal.  I decided to take my time with this one and wanted to make sure I found the right place.  I also wanted to continue to save my money and invest it, which I was able to do a lot of in 2013.  I also had plans of traveling during January of 2014, so I thought it'd make more sense to wait until I got back (I'm going to Indonesia, Los Angeles and San Diego).  I started looking for apartments in December and was able to find my “dream apartment”, which is a penthouse on the 48th floor overlooking Vancouver.  When I went to see the place in person, it inspired me so much and I decided that I'd make it happen and go for it.  Well, it came true and I just signed the lease, and will be moving in on February 1st.  It's a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment worth 1.7 million dollars.  I've decided, this is the new standard and lifestyle I want to live, and this is what I'm committed to!  I've shared some pictures below.

LESSON: I learned to be patient with this goal as well.  I'm so happy I stayed in my current place and waited until the right place appeared for me, as I think it's such an important decision and it's best to pick the right apartment that you'll be most happy with.

6) I will easily continue to build an amazing, passionate, loving relationship with Jessica where I am focusing on meeting her needs, being present for her, with us both growing towards an incredible future by December 31, 2013.

RESULT: I didn't achieve this goal.  My girlfriend and I broke up earlier in December.  Overall, it was for the best and I'm actually very happy about it.  While we had great times together and it was a great experience, I'm much happier now.  Sometimes a relationship can be draining, or you might be with the person just out of “convenience”.  We knew some time ago we weren't the right match and the decision to break up was mutual.

LESSON: Making sure you pick the right person to be in a relationship is extremely important.  When the “lust” phase ends and you aren't aligned in your values and goals, then there will be challenges.  I've discovered so much about myself, the challenges that I have in relationships, and know now what I need to work on.  I also have become more clear on what I want and am motivated to become the type of person that will attract the right person in my life.  I also learned that I'm not ready for marriage or family yet, and there's still a lot of living and traveling I want to do.  I'm still a few years away from making that kind of commitment.

7) I will easily go to Mexico for 1 week with Jessica by December 31, 2013.(Successfully completed)

RESULT: I achieved this goal.  Had an awesome time in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and it was so much fun!  We went on many fun tours, the zoo, Rhythms of the Night, horseback riding, etc… I love it there!

LESSON: Take more time off!  I learned that ideally every 3 months to take at least a week off, to re-charge and get re-focused on your goals.  Use vacations as a “reward” that you give yourself for achieving major projects.

8) I will easily wake up each morning happy, excited and passionate at levels 9′s and 10′s by December 31, 2013.

RESULT: I didn't achieve this goal.  I wasn't happy and excited and passionate EVERY DAY, but I was on most days.

LESSON: I learned to make this goal more measurable and realistic.  I don't think anyone can be happy and excited EVERY DAY.  There will be some challenging days.  Instead, I think a better goal would be to do my morning ritual everyday, as that's something I can measure and a habit I can build, which will lead to being happy and excited everyday.

9) I will easily do a 7-10 day cleanse to detox my body and increase my health and energy by December 31, 2013. (Successfully completed – Total Wellness Cleanse Review)

RESULT: I achieved this goal.  I did a 10-day cleanse during January of 2013 and it was one of the best things I did.  I ended up doing The Total Wellness Cleanse, which I highly recommend.  I really cleansed my body of the crap that it's accumulated over years and my energy levels were off the charts afterwards!  It's also a great way to lose wight, improve your skin, and heal the body of any diseases.  Going to do this again every year.

LESSON: To cleanse more often!  At least every year, go on a 7-10 day cleanse.  Your body needs and deserves it.  I felt SO HAPPY and ENERGIZED when I did this.  I can't describe how this feels!

10) I will easily buy a Vitamix blender by December 31, 2013. (Successfully completed – Vitamix Review)

RESULT: I achieved this goal!  Buying a Vitamix was one of the best purchases I've made.  I use it 2-3 times per day and it's a fast, easy and convenient way to eat healthy foods.  I did a Vitamix Review on my blog so you can see how I use it.

LESSON: I tend to make the same smoothies and shakes everyday, but would like to experiment more with it and do more recipes.  I used it a lot and did vegetable soups and a lot of cool things when I was doing my cleanse and at other points of the year, but would like to do more fun things with it more often.

11) I will easily buy a new MacBook by December 31, 2013. (Successfully completed!)

RESULT: I achieved this goal!  I bought a brand new 15″ Macbook Pro, which is something I couldn't live without.  I used it everyday for work and run my businesses off of it.  It's much faster than any other computer I've had as well (I even upgraded the RAM), and it's amazing how this device has helped me make hundreds of thousands of dollars online.  I'm so grateful for it.

LESSON: Set more “thing” goals like this that can motivate me as well.  I learned it's so important to ensure that I am using top-notch computers and technology, as it's what my business is run off of and can really improve my work experience and productivity.

12) I will easily buy a new, high quality camera and mic by December 31, 2013.(Successfully completed!)

RESULT: I achieved this goal!  I ended up buying Canon EOS Rebel T4i DLSR with a 18-55mm lens along with the Sennheiser EW 112 GS wireless mic system.  This has really improved the quality of my videos and I think has helped build my blog to where it is today.

LESSON: Investing in the right equipment for my business is extremely important!  It really makes a difference.  I really need to learn to use it better though, as I'm not an expert at making videos yet and just learn from my own experience.  Perhaps a course could really help me in 2014.

13) I will easily buy the Omega J8004 Juicer by December 31, 2013.(Successfully completed – Omega J8004 Review)

RESULT: I achieved this goal!  I ended up buying the Omega J8004 Juicer after much review, and it's been one of the best investments I've ever made in my health!  I use it almost everyday and it's really transformed my energy levels.  It's become an important part of my morning ritual.

LESSON: If you can't afford a juicer, sell your car and buy one.  A juicer will get you further in life!  Seriously, not sure how I lived without this for so long.  It's improved my health, happiness, energy levels, and I even feel smarter and more focused while drinking green juices.

Not everything happened the way I wanted it to in 2013, but overall I'm very happy with the year.  I achieved a lot of big goals that I set out to achieve and I feel happier and more successful than ever!  2013 was easily one of the best years of my life!

EXERCISE:  I highly suggest that you reflect back over your 2013 goals and really measure where you're at with them.  Did you achieve them?  Were you successful?  Did you come up short on a few?  What did you learn from your goals?  What can you do better next time?  Taking the time to do this is an important process before you even consider setting new goals for yourself in 2014.

Stacking The Successes And Magic Moments

I've found it extremely important to really stack the many successes and magic moments of 2013.  The more that you think back about the successes and good times, the more confident you become in yourself and your ability to set and achieve goals.  I feel so confident moving into 2014, because I achieved so much already in 2013.  This confidence is what will allow me to set bigger and better goals, and make things happen.  That's why you want to make a list and focus as much as possible on the POSITIVE.

I recently achieved another one of my 2013 New Year Resolutions and invested in a high quality Vitamix blender.  I've wanted a Vitamix for quite awhile now, as I was tired of going through cheap blenders and having them break down.  I personally blend at least twice a day, and so investing in a high quality blender was a must for me.

I've put up a video blog below of my Vitamix in action.  I decided to put up a Vitamix review to share the many benefits and uses of owning the Vitamix Total Nutrition Center.

The Benefits Of Blending

Like I said, I blend frequently – usually first thing in the morning and within 30 minutes after my workout.  I'm a fan of blending my meals for two primary reasons:

It's Fast And Easy.  It's extremely fast and easy to make meals by blending.  You don't have to cook or spend a lot of time preparing meals.  You can simply blend up a healthy, nutritious meal within minutes.  Clean up only takes minutes as well.

It's Healthier.  Blending is an easy way to consume larger quantities of raw foods, such as fruits and vegetables.  It's much easier for your body to digest, as the foods are raw and already pre-digested by consuming it in a liquid form.  You can also easily add in protein powders, making it ideal for a post-workout meal as your body will easily absorb protein to rebuild your muscles.

Here's some of my favourite ingredients to blend each day:

  • Protein Powder (I use brown rice or pea protein for health reasons)
  • Fruit (bananas, berries, apples, oranges, mangos)
  • Vegetables (spinach, cucumber, celery, lettuce, kale)
  • Almond Milk or Rice Milk
  • Coconut Water
  • Hemp Seeds (good source of protein and essential fats)
  • Chia Seeds (rich in omega 3 fats)
  • Udo's Oil (mixture of omega 3-6-9 oil blend)
  • Coconut Oil
  • Goji Berries
  • Maca Root (energy boost)
  • Raw Cacao (adds taste without added fat or sugar of chocolate)
  • Bee Pollen (increased energy and stamina)
  • Psyllium Husks (good source of fibre)

I obviously don't mix all of those ingredients in at once (you could if you wanted to though!), but just a few of these powerful ingredients will perform wonders for your body and health.  I used to go as far as adding in oatmeal and other complex carbs to my blends for muscle-gaining purposes.  For me to eat all of these ingredients separately would otherwise take FOREVER!

buy vitamix reviewThe Vitamix Total Nutrition Center is a high powered blender that is often used at Starbucks, Jugo Juice, Booster Juice and Jamba Juice.  You can literally create almost any type of meal with a Vitamix blender, including: frozen drinks, cooked meals, creamy deserts, hot soups, and smoothies within minutes.  The high powered blender uses a 2-peak horse power (1380 watts) motor, along with a radial cooling fan and thermal protection system.  It's extremely durable and comes with a 7-year warranty, and so you don't have to worry about it breaking anytime soon.

Since owning a Vitamix, I've been blown away by the recipes and meals that I could create.  I didn't know a blender was capable of juicing or cooking meals.  The Total Nutrition Center, formerly the Vitamix 5200, comes with a DVD that contains dozens of recipes and a recipe book so that you can make many of the delicious, healthy recipes within minutes.  Since owning it, I have made many of the delicious smoothies and even made a healthy ice cream!

Vitamix vs Blendtec

I've done a lot of research and comparison of Vitamix vs Blendtec, and I've concluded that Vitamix is most likely best for me.  I personally trust the Vitamix brand a lot more and believe it's much more reliable than the Blendtec blender.  Both have their pro's and con's, but based on my research, the biggest advantages Vitamix has over Blendtec is:

  • Vitamix has better speed control.  The Total Nutrition Center comes with two switches (one for turning it on/off and another for high speed) and a dial for variable speed.  The dial is beneficial as it allows you to have more control over how thick you want your blend to be.  You can easily start off slow, then increase the speed as you wish.  In terms of power, apparently Blendtec has a more powerful motor, but I heard it's irrelevant as only a certain amount of wattage can be released through the power outlet.  Apparently nobody has noticed a difference in quality from the higher powered motor they advertise.
  • Both blenders produce tolerable sound, but Vitamix is relatively quieter.
  • Vitamix has a larger jar than Blendtec, which makes it easier to produce large amounts rather than having to make smaller batches.
  • Vitamix comes with a tamper, Blendtec does not.  The tamper adds to the versatility and speed in which you can blend, making it easier to mix the ingredients.  People have said to be frustrated with Blendtec at times as you need to sometimes take out the pitcher and shake it to better mix the ingredients, then try blending again.
  • Vitamix is slightly more expensive than Blendtec, but you get free shipping with Vitamix.  Blendtec doesn't offer free shipping, so the price can come out to be slightly higher than Vitamix.

Overall, I think both blenders are incredible and you can't go wrong with either one.  I just chose the Vitamix as I've heard more great things about it from others and I enjoyed the fact that many of the juice bars that I frequent endorse it.

Where To Buy Vitamix?

vitamix reviewIn my opinion, the best place to buy Vitamix is online through their website – that's where I bought it.  It seems that buying Vitamix online is the cheapest option, as you're able to take advantage of some of the sales they offer, as well as get free shipping (Coupon Code: 06-008602).  It's also best to deal directly with Vitamix incase anything goes wrong.

The other options are to buy Vitamix from Amazon or sometimes you can find it at Costco, if they're doing a tour in your area.

You can't go wrong with owning a Vitamix.  I've been using it daily and it's been a huge addition to my life, and a major enhancement to my health and well-being.  I don't know how I lived without it…

A powerful book that really had an impact on me is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.  I recently reviewed what I learned from this little book and decided to write a book review about it.  The book is structured around Four Agreements, which are essential to living a fulfilled life and being free.  They are agreements that you make with yourself.

In The Four Agreements, Don Miguel talks a lot about freedom — the essence of what we all desire.  But, what holds us back is fear.

To be alive is the biggest fear humans have.  Death is no the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive — the risk to be alive and express what we really are.  Just being ourselves is the biggest fear of humans.  We have learned to live our lives trying to satisfy other people's demands.  We have learned to live by other people's points of view because of the fear of not being accepted and of not being good enough for someone else.”

It is mentioned in the book that Don Miguel experienced a near-death experience that changed his life.  In the 1970's, he fell asleep at the wheel of his car and ended up crashing into a wall of concrete.  After this experience, he devoted himself to to the mastery of the ancient ancestral wisdom, studying with his mother (a healer) and learning from a powerful shaman in the Mexican desert.  These experiences have provided us with the powerful wisdom that he shares in this book.

We dishonor ourselves just to please other people.  We even do harm to our physical bodies just to be accepted by others.  You see teenagers taking drugs just to avoid being rejected by other teenagers.  They are not aware that the problem is that they don't accept themselves.  They reject themselves because they are not what they pretend to be.  They wish to be a certain way, but they are not, and for this they carry shame and guilt.  Humans punish themselves endlessly for not being what they believe they should be.  They become very self-abusive, and they use other people to abuse themselves as well.”

Nobody abuses us more than we abuse ourselves.  He talks a lot about negative self-talk — how we doubt ourselves and feed our brains with negativity and limiting beliefs.  However, the cure of self-abuse is self-love.  It's only when we truly love ourselves we can accept ourselves.

We have the need to be accepted and to be loved by others, but we cannot accept and love ourselves.  The more self-love we have, the less we will experience self-abuse.  Self-abuse comes from self-rejection, and self-rejection comes from having an image of what it means to be perfect and never measuring up to that ideal.  Our image of perfection is the reason we reject ourselves; it is why we don't accept ourselves the way we are, and why we don't accept others the way they are.”

The Four Agreements

1.  Be Impeccable with Your Word

This is the most important agreement.  Don Miguel talks about your word and the words of others are powerful.  They have the potential to hurt yourself and others.  And most of our self-limitations and fears, are due to the words or opinions of others.

During our domestication, our parents and siblings gave their opinions about us and we lived in fear over these opinions, like not being good at swimming, or sports, or writing.  Someone gives an opinion and says, “Look, this girl is ugly!” The girl listens, believes she is ugly, and grows up with the idea that she is ugly.  It doesn't matter how beautiful she is; as long as she has that agreement, she will believe that she is ugly.  That is the spell she is under”

I can completely relate to this.  Back when I was growing up, I'd hear a lot of negative opinions from others.  But I think part of this is having a strong identity and sense of self.  When you know who you are (ie. know that you're not ugly), then you're unaffected by the opinions of others because YOU are the one that dictates what you think or feel about yourself.  You know the truth.

But, he is completely right with the affects it has on others.  More importantly, it's also the affect YOU have with your word on yourself.

Being impeccable with your word is not using the word against yourself.  If I see you in the street and I call you stupid, it appears that I'm using the word against you.  But really I'm using my word against myself, because you're going to hate me for this, and your hating me is not good for me.  Therefore, if I get angry and with my word send all that emotional poison to you, I'm using the word against myself.

If I love myself, I will express that love in my interactions with you, and then I am being impeccable with the word, because that action will produce a like reaction.  If I love you, then you will love me.  If I insult you, you will insult me.”

2.  Don't Take Anything Personally

This is what I talked about earlier with IDENTITY.  If you know who you are, other things don't affect you because you're still YOU — you don't take things personally.

If someone insults or says anything negatively about you, who cares?  It shouldn't change how you feel or what you think about yourself.  It's only when your identity is weak that you're vulnerable.  Then you ACCEPT what others think or say about you,, and all of a sudden you're left with self-limitations.

3.  Don't Make Assumptions

The problem with making assumptions is that we believe they are REAL, which is bullshit.

When you meet a guy or girl and it went really well, you make the assumption that they are now your new boyfriend/girlfriend and it's going to be amazing and wonderful.  However, it hasn't really happened.  It's fake.  It's all what you manifested in your mind.  Therefore, what happens when the reality doesn't meet that assumption?  You get hurt.  You are creating even more fear and self-doubt in the future.

Instead, don't assume anything.  Don't make things bigger than they are.  This is what “one-itis” is, if you've heard the term.  It's when you meet someone, create a total fixation with them that they are wonderful and that you're going to live happily ever after together… and then you think about them all the time, and you begin getting depressed and bothered by it.  This is making assumptions.

4.  Always Do Your Best

Just do your best — in any circumstance in your life.  It doesn't matter if you are sick or tired, if you always do your best there is no way you can judge yourself.  And if you don't judge yourself there is no way you are going to suffer from guilt, blame, and self-punishment.  By always doing your best, you will break a big spell that you have been under.”

For me, this is a matter of PRIDE.  When I pushed things past my comfort zone or did the best I could in something, I feel great about myself because I can look in the mirror knowing I did my best.  I never want to have any “what ifs?” in ANYTHING… or no feelings of regret.  I can deal with the temporary embarrassment or discomfort of pushing my comfort zone, but at the end of the day, I KNOW that I can go home happy.  This is a big part of my personal growth.

Most people go to work every day just thinking of payday, and the money they will get from the work they are doing.  They can hardly wait for Friday or Saturday, whatever day they receive their money and can take time off.  They are working for the reward, and as a result they resist work.  They try to avoid the action and it becomes more difficult, and they don't do their best.

They work so hard all week long, suffering the work, suffering the action, not because they like to, but because they feel they have to.  They have to work because they have to pay the rent, because they have to support their family.  They have all that frustration, and when they do receive their money they are unhappy.  They have two days to rest, to do what they want to do, and what do they do?  They try to escape.  They get drunk because they don't like themselves.  They don't like their life.  There are too many ways that we hurt ourselves when we don't like who we are.”

Sound familiar to anyone?

Action is about living fully.  Inaction is the way that we deny life.  Inaction is sitting in front of the television every day for years because you are afraid to be alive and to take the risk of expressing what you are.  Expressing what you are is taking action.  You can have many great ideas in your head, but what makes the difference is the action.  Without action upon an idea, there will be no manifestation, no results, and no reward.”

Action is POWER.  And action is really just making DECISIONS.

Don Miguel talks about living your life fully.  You never know what can happen.  We plan for our futures and what's ahead, but it isn't promised to us.  There truth is, we don't know if we're going to die tomorrow.  We have just the present to be alive.  We all have the assumption that we have many years ahead of us in the future.  But do we?

To be completely free, you must accept and embrace death.  It is only then that you can be truly alive.

This was a long book review, but I really enjoyed this book.  I also really enjoyed writing this, as everything seemed to sink in a lot deeper.  The book is a short read and has a ton of value in it.  If you want to learn more on the Four Agreements which I lightly touched on, then I'd recommend checking out Don Miguel Ruiz's book.
