Do you know how to be consistent, so that you are making progress towards your goals, all the time? Let’s face it, consistency is the key ingredient for success in all areas of life. Without it, you won’t be able to master anything of value.

Sure, it’s easy to get sidetracked from time to time, but if you want to take your life to the next level, you need to learn how to be consistent. Although the concept of consistency is an easy one to grasp, a lot of people struggle with it.

If you find that you get distracted easily or aren’t getting the results that you want, you aren’t alone. According to research by the University of Scranton, 92 percent of people that set New Year's goals never actually achieve them. Why? Because they haven’t learned how to be consistent. I'm here to show you how.

The best way to learn how to be consistent is to get an accountability partner, whether that’s in the form of a coach, a mentor, or a mastermind group. I believe that this is one of the most effective ways to stay committed to your goals. Personally, it has been the best solution for maintaining lasting consistency in my life.

You get more out of yourself when you have other people holding you to a higher standard. Nobody wants to report back to their mentor or coach and say, “Hey, I didn’t do ANY of the things that you told me to do this week.” Letting someone down sucks. Knowing that you are accountable to someone else will motivate you to take massive action and up your game. This is the antidote for how to be consistent.

The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) did a study on accountability and found that you have a 65% chance of completing a goal if you commit to someone. Furthermore, if you have a specific accountability appointment with a person that you’ve committed to, you will increase your chance of success by up to 95%. In short, accountability + consistency = massive success.

I recommend having an accountability trio, because if you only have a buddy, and one person isn’t doing well, than he/she will be easier on the other person. That third person helps to ensure that everyone stays on track.

Your environment is a powerful playing field. It can either help or hinder your success in life. When you find an empowering ecosystem of people who expect high standards from you, it will force you to consistently live up to those standards. Tony Robbins once said, “People's lives are a direct reflection of the expectations of their peer group. If your peer group doesn't expect much, it's just a matter of time before you lower your expectations of yourself.”

Nobody expects you to be perfect and to do it all on your own. Ask for help, but be strategic with regards to whom you ask for support. This is the secret to lasting consistency. The most successful people in the world have mastered consistency, and so can you. Make the conscious decision to remain consistent, no matter what.

In closing, the best way to do this is to leverage the power of accountability, in the form of a mastermind group, a coach, or a mentor. You will surprise yourself how much faster a support system can help to accelerate your progress. If you want to get notified of my upcoming events, click here!

It’s up to you to create the environment and the people that will challenge you to level up your life and crush your goals. This is how to be consistent in your life. If you take consistent actions, every day, I promise that you will see the results that you desire. Make the commitment to yourself. Why? Because you deserve success.

Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change. I would like to share a powerful self-improvement ritual that will ensure that your business consistently grows every year.

I am a big believer that, at the beginning of every year, you need to set goals for yourself and check in to ensure that you are making progress.

The ritual that I am going to share with you involves more than just setting goals. It’s about taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture of your business and your life.

If you want to achieve success, you need to assess the direction of your business and your life, in order to ensure that you are gaining ‘altitude’, as Eben Pagan says.

Are you ready to learn about a game-changing ritual for your business and your life? Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change.

Every 90 days I schedule a meeting with my team, and I create a specific format for it. If it’s only you in the meeting, schedule it in the same way.

Here is the meeting format that I recommend you follow. Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change:

1. Review The Vision For Your Business

A clear vision gives a business and a team a sense of direction and inspiration. In my business, I make an effort to ensure that everyone on my team is in alignment with my vision, and that we discuss what that vision is on a regular basis.

Not only that, but if the vision changes in any way, we talk about the ways in which we will need to adapt our business processes in order to ensure that we are constantly growing and expanding.

Keep in mind that it’s important that you continually check in with people to ensure that they are still on board with your vision.

2. Review The Values For Your Business And Your Life

Values are critically important for your business. Not only that, but you want to make sure that there is alignment between the values that you adhere to in your life and the ones that you promote in your business.

What does your business stand for? If you have a team, you need to communicate to them which values are most important to you.

3. Give And Receive Feedback

Feedback is a great way to develop a sense of awareness about where we can improve, so that we are consistently making progress. A lot of people forget this step in their business because they don’t create a ritual to assess themselves and their team.

There are three people on my leadership team, including myself. These are people that I trust and whose opinions I value. Like any relationship, disagreements can come up within a team, and if they aren’t expressed openly it can cause resentment amongst team members.

Each person in the team shares what he or she feels they believe that they are good at, and what they can improve. I then reflect upon what I believe that I need to improve upon, and then I allow the other members of my team to do the same.

My job is to shut up, listen, and take notes. I want my team to be honest with me. The goal is to help each other grow and improve. This is a great trust-building team exercise.

4. Analyze Your Business

As a group, my team and I then brainstorm the areas where we feel that our business has done well. We celebrate and acknowledge our accomplishments over the last 90 days, and the areas where we think we can make improvements.

We also talk about any ideas or suggestions that the team or myself may have for moving forward into the next quarter.

5. Set Goals & Actions for Next 90 Days

Things change throughout the year, so you need to be flexible. In my team, we reassess the goals that we had during the previous quarter, and then for the next quarter we decide what we want to focus on.

I always try to make sure that my team and I have goals in multiple parts of our business, and that each individual has a goal that they are moving towards.

When everyone has a goal, it allows him or her to brainstorm creative ways that they can achieve it. I also make sure that there is always a reward for achieving a goal and make sure that the goal is S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely).

6. Inspire Personal Growth and Development

Every quarter I want to make sure that my team is learning and growing, whether that’s in the form of reading books, attending seminars, taking part in courses, etc.

These are things that I support my team with because I want to invest in them, like I invest in myself. By giving the people on my team the opportunity to develop new skills, that in turn supports the growth of my business as well.

My team then shares their ideas with the group, and then for the next quarter we determine how we are going to commit to learning. We make sure that everyone on my team has goals that they are moving towards.

I highly recommend this ritual. If you want to succeed in business, you need to work on it, not in it. Take it seriously and commit to mastery.

You need to be constantly checking-in, assessing, evaluating where you are at, and where you want to go. This is what the most successful companies in the world do.

Act as if you are bigger than you are. Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change.

Are you ready to take your life and your business to the next level? In the words of Frank Ocean, “Work hard in silence. Let your success be the noise.”

If You’re Afraid Of Making Mistakes, Watch This. https://projectlifemastery.com/afraid-of-making-mistakes/ https://projectlifemastery.com/afraid-of-making-mistakes/#comments Mon, 21 Aug 2017 14:06:32 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6641 Mistakes are a normal part of life. If something doesn't work out, it doesn't mean that you are a failure. If you're afraid of making mistakes, watch this!

If you’re afraid of making mistakes, I’m here to help you conquer that fear. Mistakes are a normal part of life. We all fall short from time to time.

Unfortunately, failure is often frowned up, and is associated with feelings of anger and shame. The truth is that the journey towards success is paved with failures that test our ability to rise above disappointment or flounder in self-pity.

It all comes down to your mindset. Research shows that people who adopt a growth mindset are more likely to be able to accept mistakes because they know that they are a key part of the learning process.

If you’re afraid of making mistakes, don’t be. The truth is that if you want to succeed, you need to fail more often, because it is through failure that you learn some of your most valuable lessons in life.

In the words of Tony Robbins, “No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.”

Many people live and act in ways to ensure that they never make mistakes. They don’t take risks or step outside of their comfort zones for fear that they will fail. In doing so, they never take action or look forward.

When I was 17 years old I didn’t think that my life was going anywhere. I was shy, depressed, didn’t have any friends, and would drown my sorrows in video games. I was comfortable living inside of my bubble, and I wasted away my days. This was a big mistake.

It wasn’t until I took the leap, experimented with new things, made mistakes, and did the very things that I thought I could never do, that I was able to become the person that I am today.

In her latest book, Stop Playing Safe: Rethink Risk, Unlock the Power of Courage, Achieve Outstanding Success, Margie Warrell says that, In today’s competitive and fast changing workplace, we can never hope to achieve success unless we're willing to embrace change and risk the discomfort of failure.”

In truth, failure can be one of your greatest assets, if you allow it to be. Success is merely an experiment that manifests itself through a process of trial and error.

I can’t promise you that everything is always going to work out. Life doesn’t play out that way. It is designed to challenge you so that you can grow into the person you desire to be.

You always have a choice. You can either fall apart and become a victim, or you can rise above and become a victor. You cannot control your external world, but you can control how you choose to respond to it.

The most successful people in the world see mistakes as valuable learning experiences that allow them to become stronger and more successful. They pride themselves on their failures. Take it from Jeff Bezos, the Founder of Amazon – “I've made billions of dollars of failures at Amazon.com. Literally billions of dollars of failures.”

Just because something doesn’t work out like you planned, doesn’t mean that you are a failure. It simply means that you tried something and it didn’t work, and that is OK. If you’re afraid of making mistakes, you won’t grow.

Stay committed and learn from your mistakes. See every setback in life as an opportunity to learn, to grow, and become a better version of yourself.

Thomas Watson Sr., the original Chairman and CEO of IBM, once said, “The fastest way to succeed is to double your failure rate.” Are you making enough mistakes? Experiment more, fail more, and I promise that you will succeed faster.

You don't need to wait for the future in order to create the life of of your dreams. Why not now? A lot of people spend so much time focusing on what they want their desired future to look like, that they never take action in order to make it a reality.

If you wait for the perfect opportunity to arrive in order to change your life, time will pass you by. Peter Drucker, the legendary father of modern management, approached the future with a forward-focused mindset, as something to be created and nurtured in the present moment.

Many of us get so caught in planning our goals, that we forget to enjoy the present moment, which is where true happiness resides.

In the words of Robert Kiyosaki, “Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow.” Each day is a new opportunity to build your desired future. Forget about tomorrow. What are you going to do today in order to change your life?

I believe that every area of life affects one another. If you neglect one dimension, it will negatively impact the others. True personal growth and development are all about balance.

I am passionate about life mastery, so much so that I built a brand around this concept. I believe that mastery is an ongoing process. In order to create your desired future, you need to master every area of your life. Why not now? Doing so will ensure that you are making progress toward your goals.

More importantly, it will give you momentum to keep moving forward, knowing that you are growing and expanding into the future. This is when life becomes extraordinary.

This is what masters do. They understand the value of repetition, knowing that in order to become great at anything in life they need to do something multiple times and internalize information on a deep level.

The only thing that holds people back from living in alignment with their highest selves is self-limiting beliefs. Successful people ask themselves questions that empower them and support them in finding answers and solutions to their problems. This is one of the best ways to overcome negative belief systems.

In his book Awaken the Giant Within: How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical and Financial Destiny!, Tony Robbins shares many examples of the power of questions.

For example, instead of asking, “Why can’t I create the future that I want?”, ask yourself, “Why not now?” Why can’t you take action today in order to experience the joy and fulfillment that you desire?

In today’s world, the only constant is change. Nobody can predict what will happen tomorrow. You and only you have the power to shape the direction that your life will take.

In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” Why not now? Your future self will thank you for it.

I have created a new and improved version of K Money Mastery which is called, Mastering Book Publishing!

Every month, I write a detailed monthly report about the progress that I'm making towards the goals and resolutions that I publicly stated on my blog earlier in the year.  This is my October 2016 Monthly Goals Report, which goes over each goal that I set and the progress that I've made on them so far.

Since I started sharing my Monthly Goals Reports a few years ago, I received such an amazing response from people on my blog.  People have been sharing with me how much I've inspired them or how helpful it's been for them by me openly sharing my progress.  It's my hope that you can take away something from this report that will help inspire you to achieve your own goals

My 2016 Goals Breakdown

I’m now going to go into each goal that I committed to for 2016 in detail and share exactly where I’m at with it.  Also, be sure to check out the original 2016 goals and resolution video blog and my previous Monthly Goal Reports to compare my progress.

FINANCIAL GOALS:

1. I will easily make $2,000,000 in revenue by December 31, 2016.

Result: $136,170.03 ($1,567,523.15 total for 2016)

Last Month: $128,915.95

I've surpassed what I've earned last year so far, which is great (last year was around $1.5M).  For October, I did $136,170.03 in total revenue.  I'm still nearly $500k short and will likely be at around $1.8M for the year.  That is still an improvement over last year, but still short on my goal overall.

While it may be impressive that I was able to generate this amount of money in a month, it's always important to keep in mind that I did not get here overnight.  It's taken me years of hard work, learning and consistent effort to build the multiple online businesses and income streams that I've developed.  I also often remind people that the money you earn is merely a reflection of the amount of value that you've added to other people's lives.  If you focus on adding massive value and helping people, you will be rewarded for that.  That is what I continue to focus on every day and what I'm most proud of.

This income is comprised of a number of businesses and income streams that I have, such as:

2. I will easily have a $1,500,000 investment portfolio by December 31, 2016.

Result: GOAL ACHIEVED!

plm-october-2016-portfolio

I achieved this goal in August, building an investment portfolio of $1,500,000+ CAD in my operating and holding company.  I always like to keep some cash in my investment portfolio, since I like to time the market and strategically buy at different times.  I also might be moving some funds around too.  And the cool thing is, this doesn't include my personal investment/trading account as well – as I wasn't tracking that as part of this goal.

My investment strategy is long-term and buying stocks that pay dividends.  Right now, I primarily focus on investing on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), since I benefit from the weak Canadian dollar and economy.  Currently, my overall investment portfolio is down, however, I believe I've been able to benefit from it as I'm always buying when things drop and taking advantage of things.

The awesome thing about investing in dividend stocks is that I've been able to make a passive income of a couple thousand per month, as the stocks I invest in either pay a monthly or quarterly dividend.  So I'm not only benefiting from any capital gains, but also receiving a passive income from my investments.

CLICK HERE to watch my video blog on my $1,000,000 investment portfolio.

3. I will easily explore buying a new real estate property by December 31, 2016, and if the opportunity is right, close the deal.

Result: Just browsing…

Right now the Vancouver housing market is extremely over-priced right now and it's somewhat discouraging me from investing in a property.  I'll continue looking here and there, and again, if the opportunity is right then I will consider investing.

BUSINESS GOALS:

4. I will easily have at least 100,000 YouTube subscribers on the Project Life Mastery channel by December 31, 2016.

Result: 136,000+ (GOAL ACHIEVED!)

I achieved my goal in June and hit over 100,000 YouTube subscribers!

The Project Life Mastery YouTube channel is continuing to grow, gaining thousands of new subscribers every month.  I've been consistently publishing new videos and also have benefited from the authority of my channel now and all the hard work I've done over the years.

5. I will easily have at least 100,000 Facebook fans on the Stefan James page by December 31, 2016.

Result: 116,000+ likes on Stefan James (GOAL ACHIEVED!)

I achieved this goal in June, hitting over 100,000 likes to the Stefan James Facebook page!

The Project Life Mastery Facebook page has seen progressing slowly, at 67,000+ likes, but not as focused on it right now as we are doing the Facebook live streams from the Stefan James page instead.

6. I will easily have at least 50,000 Instagram followers on the Project Life Mastery page by December 31, 2016.

Result: 47,200+ followers

The Project Life Mastery Instagram page has been continuing to grow and got some good momentum during September with 3,000+ new followers.  We've continued to publish motivational, quality content on the page and utilizing some strategies to continue to promote the page.

7. I will easily have at least 50,000 e-mail subscribers by December 31, 2016.

Result: 98,000+ (GOAL ACHIEVED!)

plm-email-list-october-2016

I achieved this goal back in March, however, my new goal is 100,000+ e-mail subscribers.  I've been growing like crazy lately, which is great.

However, the # of subscribers isn't always the most important thing, as it's also about quality and engagement.  I likely will be deleting a # of inactive subscribers over the coming months too, which may bring the total amount down, but increase engagement.

8. I will easily reach and impact at least 3,000,000 people on YouTube (views) and have a total of 6,500,000 views on YouTube by December 31, 2016.

Result: 512,605 views (7,600,000+ views total) – GOAL ACHIEVED!

I achieved this goal in August, hitting over 3,000,000 views to my YouTube channel and over 6,500,000 views – pretty amazing!

9. I will easily reach and impact at least 2,000,000 people on ProjectLifeMastery.com (unique visitors)  by December 31, 2016.

Result: 137,000+ unique visitors (1,159,000+ total for 2016)

plm-blog-analytics-october-2016

Traffic increased again in October, which is great.  However, I'm still ways away of hitting 2,000,000 unique visitors.  I think the reason is, with SEO traffic increases slow and steady.  There's no “viral effect” with SEO, whereas with YouTube and social media there is.  I may have had a bit of an unrealistic goal here, but I will continue to do my best to grow the blog and traffic of it for this year.

10. I will easily publish at least 150 new video blogs on YouTube and ProjectLifeMastery.com by December 31, 2016.

Result: 20 video blogs (196 total) – GOAL ACHIEVED!

I achieved my goal for publishing 150+ video blogs for this year in August!

These video blogs were published on the YouTube channel, iTunes podcast and on the blog.  I've continued to improve my ability to produce high quality content and have been putting a lot more focus on this.  It's been a lot easier now that I've been building a team to help me run many of the other operations of my business, so that I can focus more on producing quality content.

In January, I launched the #AskStefan series, where I answer subscribers questions in video blogs.  If you have any questions for me that you'd like answered in a video blog, you can learn more about how to do that here.

11. I will easily re-launch K Mastermind and help publishers grow their business to six-figures by December 31, 2016.

Result: GOAL CANCELLED – NOT ACHIEVED. 🙁

I decided not to pursue this goal and instead to focus my efforts on other projects that are more aligned with my ultimate vision.

12. I will easily create and launch a new self-development program that will positively help people improve their lives by December 31, 2016.

Result: In progress

In January, I sent out a survey to get feedback and ideas from my followers on what they want.  I'll be using this valuable information to put together a new self-development program this year that will help benefit you.

Since then, I've started working on the program in November and hopefully can have it available for launch in early 2017.

13. I will easily create and launch a new online business training program that will help people make make money online by December 31, 2016.

Result: GOAL ACHIEVED!

In July, my focus was on launching Affiliate Marketing Mastery, the online training course that I've been working on for several months.  The response was incredible – we had over 400 people join and people have been loving it so far!  What also has been amazing me is how fast some people are already getting results, which has been fantastic!

Affiliate Marketing Mastery is a new online training program that I created, which will teach people step-by-step how to make money online as an affiliate.  I'm teaching how to build a brand and online presence, on a blog, YouTube and social media.  I'm also teaching a lot of marketing strategies I've used in my own business to attract hundreds of thousands of people online, as well as how to monetize that traffic/subscribers.

To learn about Affiliate Marketing Mastery, click here.

14. I will easily create and launch the new Life Mastery Toolkit that will help motivate and teach how to grow an online business by December 31, 2016.

Result: GOAL ACHIEVED!

I'm excited that I finished my new FREE Life Mastery Toolkit, which ended up being a FREE COURSE that I released in March.  The FREE course reveals the 7 Proven Online Business Models That Made Me An Internet Millionaire In 3 Years.

You can get instant access to it by clicking here.

15. I will easily launch 2 new Amazon products by using the Amazing Selling Machine by December 31, 2016.

Result: 1 new product launched

In January, I launched a brand new supplement through Life Mastery Nutrition on Amazon.  It's a BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acids) supplement, which I'm very excited about.  I've been taking BCAA's for years and it's helped me to build muscle and maintain muscle while leaning out.  I'm very happy about the quality of this product and the positive reviews it's been getting so far.

In total, I have 3 products that have been successfully selling on Amazon through Life Mastery Nutrition.  They are:

I'll be aiming to launch another Amazon product through Life Mastery Nutrition in the next few months.

16. I will easily be making at least $10,000 per month on Amazon by December 31, 2016.

Result: $10,217.75 (GOAL ACHIEVED!)

I achieved my goal of earning $10,000 in sales in June with Life Mastery Nutrition (my supplement brand)!  The great part is, I've been experiencing growth with my Amazon business without focusing on it much.  I have someone working part-time to do some work for it, but that's about it.  I'll be sharing a video blog soon, giving more of an update on my progress.

17. I will easily hire someone to run my Amazon business part-time by December 31, 2016.

Result: GOAL ACHIEVED!

I've achieved this goal in March, having someone spend a few hours per week to maintain and grow my Amazon business.  Right now we're focusing on some long-term, ever-green marketing strategies which will continue to grow our brand and sales over the long-term.

I'm excited about this, as the main thing limiting me has been time.  I'm now able to be working ON my Amazon business, rather than IN my Amazon business – which is the key to scaling up and something that I preach constantly amongst business owners.

18. I will easily hire a SEO person on my team to help SEO optimize my blog by December 31, 2016.

Result: GOAL ACHIEVED!

We achieved this goal in March, hiring an SEO master to do an audit on ProjectLifeMastery.com and focus on improving the on-site and off-site optimization.  We'll be implementing changes over the next few months.  We don't expect changes to happen over night, but to see the real impact over a few months from now.

Result: Read 20 books

I've read 18 books so far during 2016.  I'm currently reading The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?and Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think.

26. I will easily complete a 10 day silent meditation retreat with Vipassana by December 31, 2016.

Result: CANCELLED 🙁  Will be scheduled for 2017

My Vipassana retreat was originally planned and scheduled for October, however, my girlfriend unfortunately had to have surgery on her tailbone which forced us to reschedule into 2017.  This was unfortunate, as we were both looking forward to this.  It'll be a high priority on my list for 2017.

27. I will easily complete my morning ritual at least 5 days per week by December 31, 2016.

Result: On track, have been consistent with morning ritual

I've been on track and consistent with doing my morning ritual every day while traveling.

I've been snapping my morning ritual almost every day on Snapchat, so make sure to follow me (stefanjames1).

In January, I completed the 30 Day Morning Ritual Challenge and was very consistent with doing my morning ritual every day.  I can't explain enough how much a morning ritual has been life-changing for me!

To learn more about morning rituals, check out my Morning Ritual Mastery program here.

28. I will easily get my PADI Scuba Diving License by December 31, 2016.

Result: 1/2 complete

In Phuket, Thailand, my girlfriend and I signed up for a 3-day PADI Scuba Diving course.  We both got 90%+ on the exam and completed our first dive together, however, unfortunately we were unable to complete the course due to getting sea sick on the boat.  I'm going to aim to complete this goal a bit later in the year, however, right now I'm not a fan of the ocean after the incident I had.

29. I will easily complete the 100 Day Challenge by April 30, 2016.

Result: GOAL ACHIEVED!

I completed the 100 Day Challenge in April, achieving some of my major goals for the year, while also making significant progress towards many others.  I enjoyed the 100 Day Challenge so much, that I committed to it AGAIN for the 2nd time in 2016.  Click here for my latest 100 Day Challenge goals.

SOCIAL & RELATIONSHIP GOALS:

30. I will easily continue to do bi-weekly journaling with Tatiana in our relationship book by December 31, 2016.

33. I will easily plan and organize at least 1 fun activity with friends every month to create magic moments (travel exception) by December 31, 2016.

Result: Fun days w/ friends

CONTRIBUTION GOALS:

34. I will easily build 2 schools with Change Heroes by December 31, 2016.

Result: GOAL ACHIEVED!

I achieved this goal in August, contributing $20,000 to build 2 schools in Ethiopia!  To help achieve this goal, I decided that 10% of my customers purchase of my Affiliate Marketing Mastery course would go towards building 2 schools in Ethiopia, which was achieved!  And the great thing is, I was able to earn more than that and donate an extra $10,000 to Operations Underground Railroad to help end human trafficking.

I'm very involved in giving and contributing to many different causes that I'm passionate about in private, but the purpose of this campaign is to get OTHERS involved to give and become aware of the challenges that others face.  Last year I built a school in Kenya and Ecuador, and this year I want to continue the momentum going!

If you want to contribute to this campaign and help me build schools in Ethiopia, click here.

35. I will easily build 2 houses with ChangeHeroes by December 31, 2016.

Result: GOAL ACHIEVED!

I achieved this goal in May, raising over $6,000 to fund two houses for family's in need in Nicaragua.  I want to thank those that supported me on this and I can't wait to share the experience in Nicaragua when I go and volunteer to build them!

I'm always giving and contributing to various causes that I'm passionate about in private, but made these campaigns available to the public to help raise awareness and have others give as well.

If you want to contribute to this campaign and help me build houses in Nicaragua, click here.

36. I will easily travel to Nicaragua and volunteer to build houses for the Project Life Mastery ChangeHeroes retreat in July 2016.

Result: GOAL ACHIEVED!

I achieved this goal in July and had an incredible time building 2 houses in Nicaragua!  I shared a bit of the experience here (watch here) and it was one of the most rewarding experiences!

Overall, I enjoyed putting this Monthly Goals Report together and I look forward to doing one again next month.  I’ve found that this public commitment has been pushing me to stay motivated and accountable as well, which is helping me to get more done also.  Thanks for reading!

I have created a new and improved version of K Money Mastery which is called, Mastering Book Publishing!

Every month, I write a detailed monthly report about the progress that I'm making towards the goals and resolutions that I publicly stated on my blog earlier in the year.  This is my November 2016 Monthly Goals Report, which goes over each goal that I set and the progress that I've made on them so far.

Watch the video below:

(Click here to watch on YouTube)

These video blogs were published on the YouTube channeliTunes podcast and on the blog.

This is my February 2014 Monthly Goals Report, which goes over each goal that I set and the progress that I've made on them so far.

Since sharing my January 2014 Monthly Goals Report, I received such an amazing response from people like you.   People have been sharing with me how much I've inspired them or how helpful it's been for them by me openly sharing my progress.  It's my hope that you can take away something from this report that will help inspire you to achieve your own goals.

My Goals Breakdown

I’m now going to go into each goal that I committed to for 2014 in detail and share exactly where I’m at with it.  Also, be sure to check out the original 2014 goals and resolution video blog and my January 2014 Monthly Goals Report to compare my progress.

Health & Fitness

1. I will easily be 160 lbs at 6% body fat and compete in the WBFF on July 26, 2014.

Result:  152 lbs at 8% body fat

Previous Month: 151.7 lbs at 8% body fat
Based on the scale, it doesn't seem like I made any progress on this goal, despite the fact that I've been working extremely hard towards it.  I've continued to work out 6 days per week, doing intense cardio works, and eating extremely well.  There was a few days where I didn't track my calories as well as I'd like and even went out to eat or had a few drinks, but regardless of that I thought that I'd see some more significant changes to the scale.  While this was somewhat frustrating, I've been working with my coach to switch things up and break past this plateau – so we'll see how things change during March.

However, if you look at my picture (and when I look in the mirror), I feel that I look better than I did during January.  I feel more lean and that my body is more dense.  This could be because I started to train with weights again (in January I didn't as I was in Bali) and perhaps I even gained more water since I started taking creatine during February and have been following my diet more consistently.  While I was in Bali, I was unable to track meals effectively and my workout plan and diet plan has changed radically, so perhaps now that I've had a monthly of being consistent in Vancouver, I can start to make adjustments much easier.  Overall, I've learned that how I look in the mirror is far more important than the scale, as sometimes the scales can be manipulated and fluctuate.

By the way, you can compare my progress pictures from January to February by looking at the two images below.  The image on the left is from January 2014, whereas the image on the right is from February 2014 (most recent).

2. I will easily complete a 7-10 day cleanse using The Total Wellness Cleanse by December 31, 2014.

Result: No progress made yet

I haven’t focused on this goal yet and plan on doing the cleanse sometime during the end of the year.

Finances

3. I will easily be making $30,000/month consistently by December 31, 2014.

Result: $42,469.01

Previous Month: $29,532.42

Wow – what a crazy month!  During the month of February, I made $42,469.01 from my online businesses.  The most I've ever made before this has been $30,000 in a month, so to do $42,469.01 in one month is absolutely incredible!  I actually couldn't believe it first once my book keeper sent me my finances, as it was much more than I expected.  Below you will be able to see my different sources of income and notes on each.

Clickbank: $17,550.17

My Clickbank earnings include my Mastering Book Publishing course, 6 other Clickbank products that I sell (which I keep private) and affiliate earnings.  My Mastering Book Publishing course has been growing every month and I’ve been taking a lot of action to making it one of the best courses out there for helping people make money online.  I’m very proud of the progress I’ve been making with it.  I also continue to make passive income from several products that I sell on Clickbank that I started 3-4 years ago that continue to make me money on autopilot.  And finally, a large portion of the income is also from affiliate earnings that I get from this blog and other websites that I have also.

During January of 2014, I made $14,514.47 on Clickbank, so I saw a huge increase during January, primarily in sales for my Mastering Book Publishing course as I've been working on ways to grow it and get it out there to help more people.

Kindle Publishing: $8,502.56

My Kindle publishing earnings include all the royalties that were deposited into my bank account for February from all 100+ Kindle e-books that I sell on Amazon.  During January, I made $8,115.93 from Kindle, so my income went up quite a bit during February.  This is a good sign, especially considering I unpublished many books last year and have been re-building my Kindle royalties to be a six-figure per year income source again.  I also ended up hiring a killer virtual assistant during February that has been working on my Kindle empire and growing it, so this will now allow me to scale up even further this year.

ShareASale: $70.27

This is more affiliate commissions that I earned from promoting some products on my blog.  Last month I made $297.75, so my income here decreased.

Commission Junction: $105.20

This is more affiliate commissions that I earned from my blog.  Last month I made $184.07 from Commission Junction.

Coaching: $8220.41

During February, I ended up taking on some more coaching clients and was able to make $8220.41, which is a lot more than what I made during January.  During January, I only made $1811.00 from coaching as I was traveling Bali and wasn't able to take on many more clients.  I also think that since I've been being more transparent and sharing my goals, more people have been inspired and been wanting to work with me, which has been great.

Other: $8020.40

This is all a bunch of other income that wasn’t worthwhile separating into new sections, but it includes payments from a few affiliate promotions that I did, as well as earnings from Udemy and Fiverr.

Rental Income: $950

This income isn’t internet related, but I still included it since I wanted to add up my gross income for February.  I have an investment property that I rent out every month – I don’t make any passive income from it, it just covers my mortgage.

Overall, this has been the best financial month of my life!  The crazy thing is, my goal is $30,000 per month consistently and I definitely exceeded that.  Now I just want to focus on sustaining this income of over $30,000 per month for the entire year.  However, with the launch of new projects that I'm focusing on this year, I could see my income hit over $50,000 in a month, which is extremely exciting!

4. I will easily have saved at least $100,000 by December 31, 2014.’

Result: Over $40,000

I was able to save over $30,000 during February that is directly in my company savings account.  This doesn’t include a investments that I made during February, I’m only tracking money that I’m putting into my savings and keeping away.  I’m happy I was able to save so much in February, considering I've also been spending quite a bit to grow my business and still furnishing my new penthouse.  I will easily achieve this goal by December 31st at the pace I'm moving at!

Business

5. I will easily have published at least 100 videos blogs on Project Life Mastery by December 31, 2014.

Result: 17 video blogs

Previous Month: 8 video blogs

During February I published 8 video blogs  on ProjectLifeMastery.com, with the total for this year being 17.  Here they are below:

How To Create A Blog And Set It Up In Minutes

It takes a lot of time for me to record these videos and write a blog post for each, but it’s been an enjoyable process.  I’m aiming to do at least 10 per month, but if I do a minimum of 9 per month then I will achieve the goal by the end of the year.  Overall, I've been a bit slower than I'd like publishing video blogs and would like to aim for a bit more each month.

6. I will easily launch my new money-making course by May 1, 2014.

Result: No progress made yet

Haven’t had a chance to focus on this too much right now.  Currently don’t want to switch gears too much from Kindle, as I’m getting a lot of momentum in that space.  Will likely begin to focus on this more in a few months.

7. I will easily launch my new Kindle service by February 1, 2014.

Result: Goal Achieved!

I ended up achieving this goal during February and launched my Done-For-You Kindle Ready Book Packages, which sold out in one hour!  I made 10 packages available that each consisted of a professionally written Kindle book consisting of over 5,000 words in a profitable niche, a quality e-cover with stock photos, as well as a description for the book.  These sold for $247 each.  I was absolutely blown away by how fast it sold out, as I didn't even launch it to my entire e-mail list – only my customers.  Since there's such a demand for this, I'm planning on launching this again sometime in the next month or two, but will likely charge more for it as it required more of my time than I would have liked.

8. I will easily launch my own Kindle software by December 31, 2014.

Result: In progress

I’m super excited about this project as I have a team of software developers and designers working on it.  This is my first software that I’m developing and there’s been a bit of a learning curve with it.  I’m investing a lot of time and money into this, but I know it will pay off in the long-run and help a lot of people (while solving my problems too).  Things couldn’t be moving along better here – hoping to get this launched in the coming months.

9. I will easily launch my new coaching program by March 1, 2014.

Result: Delayed, in progress

This goal has been slightly delayed.  I've put together a new coaching program to allow people to work with me to achieve their financial goals online.  I just put together the website and everything is finalized, so you should be hearing about it more in the next few days when I launch it.   I'm going to continue to be working with people 1-on-1, but also am planning on putting together a special “mastermind coaching program” where I coach people in a group, as this is something that might be more affordable for people than working with me 1-on-1.  I love working with people 1-on-1 and it's the most beneficial way for me to help you, but I unfortunately have to limit the amount of people I can take on at a time, which is why the mastermind group is something that will allow me to leverage myself more and reach more people.

10. I will easily complete Autoresponder Madness and implement what I learned into my business by March 1, 2014.

Result: Delayed, in progress

This project has been delayed much longer than I expected, as I realized that I need to finish some other projects that are more urgent and are required for me to complete this course.  I'll definitely be getting around to this goal later, as it's still a high priority for me and it's actually one of my favourite online marketing courses ever.

11. I will easily launch the new design for Project Life Mastery by December 31, 2014.

Result: In progress

The new design for PLM is still in progress and coming along nicely.  I'm just finishing the final details on it and wanting to make sure everything is the way that I want it before I launch it.  Hopefully should be ready in the next month or so!

12. I will easily write and launch a new Kindle e-book by December 31, 2014.

Result: Goal Achieved!

Yes!  Another goal achieved for this year already.  I wrote, launched and released my latest book called Kindle Marketing Secrets – 33 Ways To Promote Your Kindle Book And Get More Sales.  So far, I've received an awesome response from it and people have been loving it.  It's also selling really well and is something that will continue to make me passive income for years to come, as well as promote my Mastering Book Publishing course.

Lifestyle

13. I will easily move into the Sheraton Wall Centre penthouse on the 48th floor in downtown Vancouver by February 1, 2014.

Result: Goal Achieved!

I moved into the penthouse at the Sheraton Wall Centre on the 48th floor overlooking beautiful Vancouver on February 1st.  It’s a $1.7 million dollar penthouse and it’s still surreal.  Just a few years ago I was broke and struggling, living in my friends living room… and now I’m living in a penthouse!  Very awesome.  🙂  I’ve now furnished the place (which was a lot of work), and now I’m still furnishing it with smaller items.  I’ll have to do a video blog and give a tour of the place once everything is set up.

14. I will easily own and be driving a Corvette ZR1 by December 31, 2014.

Result: Some progress made

I didn't make any significant progress yet towards this goal, besides looking around at different Corvette's online.  The biggest progress I've made so far is realizing that I want the 2014 Corvette Stingray.  The challenge is that there's only so many available in Canada, as there was a limited amount made.  We'll see what happens here.

15. I will easily spend a weekend in Las Vegas by August 31, 2014.

Result: No progress made yet.

Haven’t focused on this yet.

16. I will easily spend 2.5 weeks in Bali, Indonesia by February 1, 2014.

stefan baliResult: Goal Achieved in January!

I spent most of January in Bali, Indonesia and had a blast.  I travelled with my friend Mike and I recorded a lot of videos while there.  It’s absolutely beautiful there and I highly recommend to go if you get a chance!

17. I will easily travel to San Diego for the Traffic and Conversion Summit by February 1, 2014.

Result: Goal Achieved in January!

frank kern traffic and conversion summitAfter Bali, I ended up going to Los Angeles and then to San Diego for the Traffic and Conversion Summit.  It was an amazing event – over 2,000 people attended.  I was able to hangout with some friends from a mastermind group I’m apart of and meet some internet marketers that are making millions online.  It was very inspirational and now I’ve got a lot to apply to my businesses for 2014 that will take things to a whole new level.  I did a video blog on what I learned from the event here.

18. I will easily take a 1-week vacation and travel somewhere by December 31, 2014.

Result: No progress made yet

Haven’t been thinking too much about another vacation right now, as I just want to get back into a routine in Vancouver.  Will be a few months before I look to travel again.

Social & Relationship

19. I will easily go out and socialize and have fun at least 3 times per week by December 31, 2014.

Result: Been going out 2 times per week

Since being back in Vancouver, I've been able to socialize a bit more and go out.  I've been hanging out with friends that I haven't seen in awhile and also meeting a lot of new people, which is always fun.  I'd like to go out and reach the 3 days per week point, so I need to push myself here more.

20. I will easily have a fun get together and party once a month at my penthouse by December 31, 2014.

Result: In progress

During February, I threw a great housewarming party and ended up having a lot of awesome friends come by.  It was a really fun get together, as I haven't seen a lot of my friends in awhile.  It was great to be able to celebrate and share my new place with so many people that are important to me.  I'd like to continue this goal, but have smaller get togethers and parties that are more manageable for me though.

Habits & Personal Development

21. I will easily meditate 30 days in a row for 20 minutes at a time by December 31, 2014.

Result: No progress made yet

Haven’t focused on this habit yet – planning on setting a challenge for myself during March.

22. I will easily go 30 days without biting my nails by December 31, 2014.

Result: Goal Achieved in January!

This goal was very easy for me to achieve once I committed myself to it.  I was biting my nails for so long out of habit and once I just decided to be conscious of it and focus on changing it, it was fairly easy.  I had a few times where my fingers would come up to my mouth, but I’d quickly stop myself.

23. I will easily go through Tony Robbins Personal Power II by February 1, 2014.

Result: Goal Achieved in January!

I just finished completing this program for the 3rd or 4th time now.  My mastermind group wanted to go through it together as a group, which I agreed to.  I find that everytime I go through programs again and again, I continue to get more out of it.  This is a powerful program and it helped me with many of my goals also.

24. I will easily read at least 12 books by December 31, 2014.

Result: Read 1 book

I read one book during January called The Millionaire Fastlane and have continued to work on a tax book that I bought awhile ago.  I've been having some challenges getting myself to read this book, as to be honest, I find taxes dull and boring.  None the less, this is an area I need to pick up the slack in and really push myself to achieve.  I'm going to commit to reading at least 10 pages of this book per day during March.

25. I will easily respond to friends and family members within 24 hours for 30 days straight by December 31, 2014.

Result: Goal Achieved in January!

I achieved this goal in January and did a great job with it, but I feel that I need to focus on it a bit more again.  Since being back in Vancouver, I've been having a lot of people wanting to hangout with me or talk to me, which has been very overwhelming.  On top of it, I continue to receive hundreds of e-mails and messages everyday through my blog and Facebook which I'd like to minimize.  I've found that the more successful I've become, the MORE people want to hangout with me and be around me.  High quality problem, I know… My plan is to create some new systems to better communicate with others and have my support team handle as much as they can as well.

26. I will easily perform 1 act of contribution every month (volunteer, feeding families, donating to charities) by December 31, 2014.

Result: In progress

During February, I ended up giving money to a charity that I'm passionate about.  I'd like to focus more on this goal however and actually invest some time volunteering to make a difference.  I've found it too easy to simply just give money, as it doesn't require my time (which is the most important thing to me right now).  I find that when I give my time, I get so much more out of it and it's very fulfilling.

Final Lessons Learned In February

February was another amazing month for me where I really was able to be productive and take things to a new level.  I really feel that I had an amazing balance during February and that I focused on ALL areas of my life, not just one or two.  It's really remarkable the level of joy and fulfillment you feel when you are making progress in all areas of life, which is what this blog is all about.

The biggest challenge I've faced in February has been the constant attention I've been receiving from people.  While I'm very blessed to be in the position that I'm in and I enjoy sharing my goals and my life so openly, one thing that has come with the territory has been the constant demand from others.  Since sharing my goals, I have people that message and e-mail me everyday, asking for help or for advice.  I get people on Facebook messaging me, asking to meet up or for me to help them for free.  It never ends and I've found often people have been taking advantage of my willingness to be so generous and help others.  I've learned that I need to start valuing my time more and setting more boundaries with it, as well as saying “no” more often.  It's a challenge for me, as I want to help everyone and make everyone happy, but I know that's also unrealistic.

That's why in March, I'm going to be launching a new coaching program which will help me to help those that are committed to getting help from me.  I also am going to direct more people to my support team, as I pay them $15/hour to help handle most of the questions that I receive.  I've also realized that answering individual questions and e-mails isn't the best use of my time.  In the hour that I spend answering a few peoples e-mails and questions, I could spend that time creating a video blog that could reach thousands of people.  I need to leverage myself more and be smarter about how I invest my time.

Another big lesson I had was to slow down a bit on a few projects.  Despite having some goals and projects delayed, I need to realize that it's OKAY and not get so worried about that.  There's still lots of time left in the year and I'm doing extremely well.  Sometimes I set too many deadlines and focus on too many things at once, so I really need to lower my load and enjoy myself more.  I'd like to spend more time going out and having fun with friends, and even relax a little bit more and watch some movies (which I've been doing lately and enjoy!).  I also enjoy cooking and want to spend more time in some other hobbies as well.  Sometimes I forget that I'm not as desperate as I used to be, which required me to work non-stop without break, and need to remind myself that I'm doing extremely well and it's okay if some projects get delayed.

These are some of the biggest lessons that I stand out for me during February.  Overall, I enjoyed putting this Monthly Goals Report together and I look forward to doing one again for March.  I’ve found that this public commitment has been pushing me to stay motivated and accountable as well, which is helping me to get more done also.  Thanks for reading!

We all fail.  That's part of process of achieving any goal.  But how do you deal with the inevitable failure that comes during the pursuit of your goals?

In this video blog, I answer a question I received from a follower of PLM on this topic.  The person described in their e-mail that they are following a specific diet, but often will “fall off the wagon” and end up sabotaging their success by eating unhealthy foods.  Does this sound familiar?  We've all sabotaged ourselves in some way and violating our own standards.  You can call this “failure” if you'd like, but let me share with you my thoughts on how to deal with failure so that you can ensure you're achieving your goals.

Be Prepared To Fail

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, experiences failure.  Don't even bother setting a goal if you aren't prepared to fail.  In fact, I don't understand why people act surprised or down when they fail… don't they understand that it's part of the process?  Don't they know that EVERYONE fails?  Don't they know that the SECRET TO SUCCESS is to DOUBLE their rate of failure?

When people succeed, they party.  When people fail, they ponder.  Rarely do you change your life at a party.  But when you ponder, you come up with new distinctions and ideas to change your life.

You need to first and foremost prepare yourself for failure.  How?  By making sure that you're physically and emotionally strong enough to handle it.  By cultivating your ability to persist and not give up.  It's your MINDSET that will ultimately pull you through any adversity or challenge in your life.  The stronger you are mentally, emotionally and physically, the less failure affects you.  It simply bounces off of you, since you're in this state of being unstoppable.

Let me give you the example of dating.  I was a dating coach for many years when I was younger and used to take guys out to meet and interact with women.  One thing about meeting and approaching random strangers is that you will likely fail a lot.  You will walk up to a woman you find attractive, but they will have a boyfriend.  You will approach someone to say hello, but they're in a hurry and have to jet.  You will start talking to a girl at a bar, but her friends will pull her away.  There's so many instances where you fail in dating, whether the person simply isn't interested or due to logistics, but it's part of the process.

What happens if you aren't mentally and emotionally strong to deal with the rejection and failure that comes with dating?  You will break down.  You will feel frustrated, rejected and feel like a failure.  You will feel embarrassed or not good enough.  Likely, you will give up because you don't have a strong enough mentality to keep going.  On the other hand, someone that is mentally and emotionally strong is unfazed by this.  They understand that it's part of the process, they delete any negativity that may have occurred, and they move onto the next person.  They don't get down on themselves when they fail or come up short – they simply keep going.

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
– Michael Jordan

Focus On Progress, Not Perfection

Being perfect is impossible.  You know this.  In fact, perfection is the lowest standard there is, simply because it's unattainable.  When you try to be perfect, you're really just finding a way to beat yourself up constantly, which is a way of giving yourself pain.  When you give yourself enough pain, you begin to ASSOCIATE that to your goal or your attempt towards your goal, which will cause you to likely give up on it and not take any action.

The key is to focus on making PROGRESS.

Let's say your goal is to follow the slow carb diet everyday this week.  Well, let's say that you realistically fall off the wagon twice and only complete it during 5 days.  Instead of beating yourself up, congratulate yourself for succeeding during those 5 days.  The next week, if you complete 6 days of the slow carb diet, then should again congratulate yourself and feel proud for making PROGRESS.  Don't beat yourself up for failing during that one day.  Look at the progress you've made and that you are making.  You are never going to be perfect with the slow carb diet and complete it EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE anyways, it's just not realistic.

The same goes with your weight loss goal.  If you wanted to lose 10 pounds, but only have lost 5, still feel proud.  Who cares you came up short with those 5 extra pounds?  Reward and congratulate yourself for being halfway there!  It might take you longer than you expected (which is always normal), but you should feel encouraged and motivated based on the progress you already made.

Remember, progress not perfection.

You need to set yourself up to win more often.  You need to treat yourself better and be more reasonable with your expectations.  You are human.  You are not perfect. And you will fail.  Accept it and understand it.  Focus more on rewarding yourself and giving yourself pleasure on what you DID do, not what you didn't do.  This will help free yourself from beating yourself up constantly.

There Really Is No Such Thing As Failure…

Finally, I will say that there really is no such thing as failure.  It's all in your head and the meaning you are associating to your experiences.  If you learn from your experience, it becomes an asset and actually a success.  I look at all of the “failures” of my life and am grateful for them, because all of them have contributed to my success today.  That's why I said earlier that the secret to success is to DOUBLE your rate of failure, because you will succeed faster that way and take more risks.

The key is, you must LEARN from your failures and not just repeat them.  If you ignore the lessons, then yes, it will be a failure.  But if you start to ask yourself, “Why did this happen?  What can I do better next time?  What can I learn from this?”, then you are gaining value from your failures and making progress.

Every failure is an opportunity to learn something new.

I hope that this video blog has helped change your perspective on failure and your life experiences.
