Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change. I would like to share a powerful self-improvement ritual that will ensure that your business consistently grows every year.

I am a big believer that, at the beginning of every year, you need to set goals for yourself and check in to ensure that you are making progress.

The ritual that I am going to share with you involves more than just setting goals. It’s about taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture of your business and your life.

If you want to achieve success, you need to assess the direction of your business and your life, in order to ensure that you are gaining ‘altitude’, as Eben Pagan says.

Are you ready to learn about a game-changing ritual for your business and your life? Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change.

Every 90 days I schedule a meeting with my team, and I create a specific format for it. If it’s only you in the meeting, schedule it in the same way.

Here is the meeting format that I recommend you follow. Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change:

1. Review The Vision For Your Business

A clear vision gives a business and a team a sense of direction and inspiration. In my business, I make an effort to ensure that everyone on my team is in alignment with my vision, and that we discuss what that vision is on a regular basis.

Not only that, but if the vision changes in any way, we talk about the ways in which we will need to adapt our business processes in order to ensure that we are constantly growing and expanding.

Keep in mind that it’s important that you continually check in with people to ensure that they are still on board with your vision.

2. Review The Values For Your Business And Your Life

Values are critically important for your business. Not only that, but you want to make sure that there is alignment between the values that you adhere to in your life and the ones that you promote in your business.

What does your business stand for? If you have a team, you need to communicate to them which values are most important to you.

3. Give And Receive Feedback

Feedback is a great way to develop a sense of awareness about where we can improve, so that we are consistently making progress. A lot of people forget this step in their business because they don’t create a ritual to assess themselves and their team.

There are three people on my leadership team, including myself. These are people that I trust and whose opinions I value. Like any relationship, disagreements can come up within a team, and if they aren’t expressed openly it can cause resentment amongst team members.

Each person in the team shares what he or she feels they believe that they are good at, and what they can improve. I then reflect upon what I believe that I need to improve upon, and then I allow the other members of my team to do the same.

My job is to shut up, listen, and take notes. I want my team to be honest with me. The goal is to help each other grow and improve. This is a great trust-building team exercise.

4. Analyze Your Business

As a group, my team and I then brainstorm the areas where we feel that our business has done well. We celebrate and acknowledge our accomplishments over the last 90 days, and the areas where we think we can make improvements.

We also talk about any ideas or suggestions that the team or myself may have for moving forward into the next quarter.

5. Set Goals & Actions for Next 90 Days

Things change throughout the year, so you need to be flexible. In my team, we reassess the goals that we had during the previous quarter, and then for the next quarter we decide what we want to focus on.

I always try to make sure that my team and I have goals in multiple parts of our business, and that each individual has a goal that they are moving towards.

When everyone has a goal, it allows him or her to brainstorm creative ways that they can achieve it. I also make sure that there is always a reward for achieving a goal and make sure that the goal is S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely).

6. Inspire Personal Growth and Development

Every quarter I want to make sure that my team is learning and growing, whether that’s in the form of reading books, attending seminars, taking part in courses, etc.

These are things that I support my team with because I want to invest in them, like I invest in myself. By giving the people on my team the opportunity to develop new skills, that in turn supports the growth of my business as well.

My team then shares their ideas with the group, and then for the next quarter we determine how we are going to commit to learning. We make sure that everyone on my team has goals that they are moving towards.

I highly recommend this ritual. If you want to succeed in business, you need to work on it, not in it. Take it seriously and commit to mastery.

You need to be constantly checking-in, assessing, evaluating where you are at, and where you want to go. This is what the most successful companies in the world do.

Act as if you are bigger than you are. Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change.

Are you ready to take your life and your business to the next level? In the words of Frank Ocean, “Work hard in silence. Let your success be the noise.”

When To Upgrade Your Lifestyle https://projectlifemastery.com/upgrade-your-lifestyle/ https://projectlifemastery.com/upgrade-your-lifestyle/#respond Sat, 26 Aug 2017 14:00:20 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6661 The decisions that you make determine your success in life. I want to talk with you about when to upgrade your lifestyle. To upgrade means to raise who you are and what you do to a higher standard.

Dreaming is great, but at the end of the day, it’s the decisions you make that determine your success, health, well-being, love, and happiness in life. The more decisions that you make, the more in control of your destiny you will be.

Look back on your life to date and think about all of the decisions that you’ve made that have led you to where you are today.

If you are currently struggling in life, it is because of the choices that you have made. Stop playing the blame game. You need to take responsibility for your life. You have the power to create your own reality.

I would like to answer a question that a fan named Regina recently asked me on Snapchat. She asked:

“What should I do if I want to change my life? My mother thinks I’m crazy for wanting expensive things that I cannot afford. I feel like a dabbler, but I don’t want to be one.”

Regina, first and foremost, it takes a lot of courage to reach out for help, so I commend you for being vulnerable and sharing your story.

One of the most important decisions that you will ever make is the decision to live well below your means, which means spending less than what you earn. Don’t upgrade your lifestyle if you can’t afford it.

The reason why a lot of millionaires are so successful is that they have ascribed to this way of life. They have made a series of strategic and smart decisions, with regards to their finances.

How do you expect to pay for a lifestyle that you haven’t yet earned? Financial freedom and success takes a lot of hard work, commitment, consistency, and sacrifice. It requires that you add value and create impact in the world. Strive for that, above anything else.

Upgrade your lifestyle only when you are worthy and deserving of it. At that point, you can celebrate and reward yourself.

Rather than wonder how you can upgrade your lifestyle, ask yourself this question: “What actions do I need to take in order to have what I want most in life?” Whether that’s starting a business, saving money, getting a promotion, or proving your worth.

When I was 18 years old I remember reading the book, The Wealthy Barber: Updated 3rd Edition: Everyone's Commonsense Guide to Becoming Financially Independent, which taught me about compounding, putting money aside, investing in mutual funds, etc.

I just put into action what the book told me to do. If people applied what they learned, they would get the results that they desired.

Don’t be a dabbler. Commit to mastery.

A lot of people make short-term decisions and neglect the long-term consequences. These people are known as dabblers. They start something, but they never finish it.

They think short-term, and expect instant gratification, without having to put in the work. If you operate this way, I guarantee that you will always make poor decisions in life.

I never make impulsive decisions. If anything, I’m more conservative with the decisions that I make. Sure, I take risks here and there, but for the most part, I’m hyper-aware of how I choose to spend the money that I have.

I used to live in a small apartment in downtown Vancouver and at that time, I was doing a lot of online marketing and was doing pretty well financially. In 2012 I was making $100,000/year, but you didn’t see it based on my quality of life because I was saving and investing my money.

I always focus on achieving specific milestones before I upgrade my life. It may be once I’ve saved a certain amount of money or reached a certain level of my investment portfolio.

I am continuously striving to upgrade my lifestyle, but I do so in small increments. When I master one level, I strive for the next. In doing so, I am constantly making improvements in my life and my business, which allows me to achieve and become more.

Always keep your ultimate vision for your life in mind when you make decisions. I have been able to achieve so much success in my life because I am always focusing on my future.

Regina, I challenge you to sit down and write out your vision and goals for your life, because that is what is going to determine the actions that you take, like whether or not you go to school, start a business, or get a coach.

You also need to determine what your core life values are. Dig deep and ask yourself questions. Above all, commit to investing and learning.

That is the best way to discover who you are and what is most important to you. It will give you the clarity that you need in order to make good decisions in life.

Regina, the best way to upgrade your lifestyle, is to downsize it. If you take this route, you will achieve success faster. I know that this sounds counterintuitive, but it’s true. Set goals, believe in yourself, keep growing, and take action.

In the words of Napoleon, “Action is the true measure of intelligence.” You have your whole future in front of you. Make the right decisions now, and you will set yourself up for success for the rest of your life.

In this video blog I want to share with you a ritual that I have everyday that allows me to experience more joy, fulfillment and success in my life.

I feel as though this ritual is something that is MISSING for so many people, as it's so easy to get caught up on trying to “do” or “achieve” more without taking the time to acknowledge yourself.

What I believe is missing is the act of CELEBRATING and REWARDING yourself.

person celebratingThere are several reasons WHY you need to celebrate and reward yourself every day and every week.

The first reason is because the MORE that you acknowledge and reward yourself for all of your successes (including the small ones), the MORE success you will have.

“What gets rewarded, gets repeated.”

When you take time everyday and every week to acknowledge the little actions that you took towards your goals, you are STRENGTHENING those actions.  They begin to associate positive emotions to those actions, which in turn will make them into habits that come natural to you throughout your day.

Every time I go to the gym, got a certain task done in my business, or do anything that is productive – I always reward myself.

I will give myself a pat on the back, or just smile and feel proud of myself, or acknowledge myself in some way.

It might sound silly to say to yourself, “Good job Stefan!” or just shouting out “YES!”, but that act of pleasure that you give yourself in that moment holds a lot of power in reinforcing that behaviour.

The other reason why you want to celebrate and reward yourself is to GIVE YOURSELF FULFILLMENT.

You don't have to WAIT to be happy or fulfilled – you can be happy and fulfilled RIGHT NOW.

Your life is compromised of certain moments; magic moments.  At the end of your life, you're not going to remember everything.  You are only going to remember these “magic moments”.

Taking the time each day and week to reflect on all of those incredible moments is a ritual that will bring immense joy and fulfillment to your life.  It strengthens those memories and the experience of “flooding yourself” with them will radically change your state.

When you're experiencing more joy and fulfillment in your life through celebrating, you will want to do and achieve MORE.  It becomes a cycle of pleasure.

On the other hand, if you fail to reward or celebrate anything, then you are creating a negative cycle.  Your brain will start to think “What's the point of doing this?” because you aren't getting ANY reward or pleasure from doing it.

Let me share with you my ritual for doing this…

My Daily And Weekly Celebration Ritual

First, I will say that I tend to do these rituals throughout the day.  I have specific rituals in the morning and in the evening, but I've found the habit of doing this throughout the day and in the moment is key.

For example, the first thing that I do when I wake up in the morning is CELEBRATE.

My entire morning ritual is an act of celebration, but just smiling and saying “YES!” out loud and being grateful is an act I perform daily to celebrate another day of my life.

When I do my daily juicing routine, I celebrate afterwards and give myself pleasure for nourishing my body.

When I go for my morning run, as I'm walking back to my apartment, I smile and pat myself on the back, feeling proud of myself.

After my daily workout, I again give myself pleasure and say “Awesome job Stefan!”

After I complete a task in my business or a project, I reward myself and will perhaps jump up and down on my rebounder and feel awesome.

This continues all throughout the day.

I'm constantly rewarding myself, which is creating stronger nerve pathways in my brain to repeat these habits effortlessly.  I am associating pleasure to taking action.

As part of my evening ritual, I will take out a journal and begin writing down all of my successes and magic moments for that day.

I will write down all of the little things, such as…

SUCCESSES:

  • worked out chest
  • did 30 mins of cardio
  • did my morning ritual
  • went through all e-mails and replied
  • read 10 pages of a book
  • recorded a video blog
  • published a video blog
  • coached clients
  • published a kindle book
  • reviewed VA's tasks
  • booked hotel and flight for california trip

I don't celebrate just the big things in my life, but mainly the LITTLE things.  It's the little things that lead to the BIG things.

Once I'm through with the successes, I then go through my list of magic moments.

MAGIC MOMENTS:

  • feeling grateful while walking and flooding myself during my morning ritual
  • receiving a positive e-mail testimonial from client
  • inspiring conversation with my friend Sean
  • feeling on fire and unstoppable during workout
  • listening to a great audio program during my morning run
  • telling my mom “I love you” today
  • watching the Miami Heat make it to the NBA finals
  • watched a powerful YouTube video that taught me some cool things
  • smiled at a stranger
  • watched a funny YouTube video

Again, it's the little things and REMEMBERING them.

You want to CAPTURE these moments of your life, as this is ultimately what your life consists of – memories.

You can do this every day or even every week.  I do both.  I write them down in a journal.

When you do this, it's powerful.  You're literally training your mind to focus on the GOOD in your life.  It will transform the way you think, as well as your entire experience of life.

Remember, you don't have to WAIT to feel good.  You can feel good RIGHT NOW and give yourself this gift every moment of your life.  In my truth about happiness video blog, I shared how THIS MOMENT is all we have and that's why it's important to learn to cherish and live in it fully.

I hope this video blog served as a powerful reminder for you to celebrate and reward yourself more each day.  You deserve it!
