Here is a sneak peak of my interview with Tatiana about how she went from $0 to $50,000 per month on Amazon at 23 years old:

For those people who have yet to watch our first video interview together, can you share a little bit about how you got started selling on Amazon?

I was working a 9-5 job and attending school, full-time when I decided to start an online business. I didn't have a lot of freedom at the time, and that became even more apparent when I started to date Stefan, who as you know, works from his laptop and has the ability to travel and work when he wants.

At the onset, I didn't want to start an online business selling on Amazon because I didn't think that I had the skills to do so. There are so many different ways to make money online, so I decided that I would give it a try. I started to sell a product and made some money doing so, but I wasn't passionate about it. Eventually, Stefan and I found a course called Amazing Selling Machine.

From that course, we learned how to build an online physical products business. From the first module of the ASM course, I was hooked. They shared testimonials from people who had been through the course and who had experienced massive success. I wouldn’t have been able to build a physical products business without this course. 

What do you see as the biggest struggles that hold people back from starting an online business?

I think that people don't want to invest their money into a business, for fear that something will go wrong. Even if something does go wrong, learn from your mistakes so that you can improve your business over the long-term. People are also scared of quitting their job, but you don't have to, and I don't recommend it. Build your online business in your spare time until you build it up to a place where it is stable and can provide you with an income.

How has your life changed since starting your online business?

My goal with this business was to be able to quit my job and make enough money to live off of and build an online brand. I reinvest a lot of the money that I make so that I can grow my brand. Sure, I am now working a lot more hours than I ever was at my day job, but I enjoy it because it is something that I am passionate about. I'm not just working for a paycheck. Rather, I'm working to build an asset.

That's what is so great about the ASM event, is that you have a community of people that are on the same path as you that support you. Oftentimes, Amazon sellers aren’t as transparent about their success online, which is why the ASM community is so great. My life has changed dramatically since starting my online business, and it wasn't until I attended the ASM event and saw people that were doing phenomenally well selling on Amazon that my mindset shifted and I was determined to make it work.

What advice would you give to those people who want to take a leap of faith and build an online business on Amazon?

Open your mind to believing that anything is possible, work on yourself, find your passion, and take charge of your life. If this is what you want to do, just do it. Freedom has always been a motivating factor for me, and now that I have it, it has changed my life in so many ways. Before I had an online business, I was so time-restricted, but now I have the opportunity to do the things that I love every day. The more that your business grows, the more time that you will have.

I want to share with you how Tony Robbins' “Platinum Partnership” transformed my life. A little over five years ago I set off on what would be a life-changing and possibly life-saving journey.  The journey started when my wife signed us up to go to a Tony Robbins, “Unleash the Power Within” seminar as a belated birthday present.

After the seminar, we eventually enrolled in Tony Robbins’ Mastery University and Platinum Partnership group. I had just turned 50 years old. I was about 25 pounds overweight, which I equated to being a natural part of getting older. My blood pressure reading was 183/98 and I was suffering from what I didn’t realize was extreme adrenal fatigue.

I constantly felt exhausted and I was only getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night. My business was slowly crumbling, even though I was consistently working 12-14 hour days, seven days per week. My competitors were rising while I was struggling to effectively operate my business.

On top of everything, my marriage was falling apart due to my complete lack of focus. Things were going downhill fast. Little did I know, it was all about to turn around thanks to my personal development master and his program, Tony Robbins Platinum Partnership.

Initially, walking through the doors of my first UPW experience felt a bit over the top. The loud blaring music and people jumping up and down made it feel more like a rock concert than a personal development seminar. Yet, as the hours went on, I felt more motivated and invigorated than I had in many years The message began to resonate from Tony Robbins Platinum Partnership.

He was helping people tap into their inner strength to overcome obstacles and achieve greatness. His message helped me realize that my priorities and values had become completely distorted. Even worse, I realized my adopted beliefs were ruining my health, business, and relationships.   

By the third day, my wife and I were given the opportunity to meet Tony Robbins on stage to enroll in Mastery University. Neither of us hesitated. Our first Mastery University event, Date With Destiny, totally blew our minds. We witnessed countless interventions where Tony was able to almost instantaneously help participants reach breakthroughs.

Every intervention seemed as if it was directed towards me, and I experienced breakthrough after breakthrough. We completed the Mastery University with Business Mastery, Life and Wealth Mastery, and finally, Leadership Academy within only six months. Our new knowledge had progressed our lives at a surprisingly rapid pace.

My blood pressure dropped to 156/94, I made more business connections, created new sources of income, and re-connected with my wife. All of our success occurred in a short period of time and we were not ready for it to end.

The next logical step was to enroll in Tony Robbins Platinum Partnership. We had heard of the opportunity before but, frankly, it seemed way too expensive, time-consuming, and out of our league. Our year ended with our favorite trip, which was located on the beautiful island of Kauai. This event was all about creating and sustaining relationships with our significant others.

We began our days with separate classes for men and women, in order to increase the polarity and attraction in our relationships. We spent the rest of our time listening to experts in the fields of intimacy, sexuality, and relationships.

Every day we did exercises to build more presence and a greater understanding of one another. We felt the love we had for each other intensify, and still feel its continuous growth to this day. This is how Tony Robbins Platinum Partnership transformed my life.

It has now been nearly five years since my wife and I traveled the world and began to utilize Anthony Robbins as our life teacher with the Tony Robbins Platinum Partnership. We are happy to say that we still feel the positive momentum and effects created by these events. I was able to turn my business around and reach higher profit margins with less time in the office.

I average 6-8 hours of sleep per night. It’s not unusual for me to leave my office early or in the middle of the day to take a yoga class or enjoy another activity. My blood pressure is now consistently healthy, around 119/78, and I have more energy in my fifties than I did in my twenties.

My wife and I are closer than ever, and we have even taken up new activities together, such as learning how to play the piano.

While the price tag was high, but I’m not sure I could put a price tag on my health, happiness, marriage, or business successes. This is the best way to ensure that your team is able to job their job well, and actually accomplish the goals that they set out to achieve. Once you have a winning team of people in your corner, you also want to share your goal(s), strategy and the vision for your business with them.

Every 90 days, my team and I engage in a game-changing business ritual, that not only ensures that our business keeps growing – but it also allows me to focus on tasks that I excel at, and that is of value to my business. Do this every 90 days, and watch your business transform.

I am a big believer that, at the beginning of every year, you need to set goals for yourself and check in to ensure that you are making progress.

The ritual that I am going to share with you involves more than just setting goals. It’s about taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture of your business and your life.

If you want to achieve success, you need to assess the direction of your business and your life, in order to ensure that you are gaining ‘altitude’, as Eben Pagan says.

Every 90 days I schedule a meeting with my team, and I create a specific format for it. If it’s only you in the meeting, schedule it in the same way.

Here is the meeting format that I recommend you follow. Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change:

1. Review The Vision For Your Business

A clear vision gives a business and a team a sense of direction and inspiration. In my business, I make an effort to ensure that everyone on my team is in alignment with my vision, and that we discuss what that vision is on a regular basis.

Not only that, but if the vision changes in any way, we talk about the ways in which we will need to adapt our business processes in order to ensure that we are constantly growing and expanding.

Keep in mind that it’s important that you continually check in with people to ensure that they are still on board with your vision.

2. Review The Values For Your Business And Your Life

Values are critically important for your business. Not only that, but you want to make sure that there is alignment between the values that you adhere to in your life and the ones that you promote in your business.

What does your business stand for? If you have a team, you need to communicate to them which values are most important to you.

3. Give And Receive Feedback

Feedback is a great way to develop a sense of awareness about where we can improve, so that we are consistently making progress. A lot of people forget this step in their business because they don’t create a ritual to assess themselves and their team.

There are three people on my leadership team, including myself. These are people that I trust and whose opinions I value. Like any relationship, disagreements can come up within a team, and if they aren’t expressed openly it can cause resentment amongst team members.

Each person in the team shares what he or she feels they believe that they are good at, and what they can improve. I then reflect upon what I believe that I need to improve upon, and then I allow the other members of my team to do the same.

My job is to shut up, listen, and take notes. I want my team to be honest with me. The goal is to help each other grow and improve. This is a great trust-building team exercise.

4. Analyze Your Business

As a group, my team and I then brainstorm the areas where we feel that our business has done well. We celebrate and acknowledge our accomplishments over the last 90 days, and the areas where we think we can make improvements.

We also talk about any ideas or suggestions that the team or myself may have for moving forward into the next quarter.

5. Set Goals & Actions for Next 90 Days

Things change throughout the year, so you need to be flexible. In my team, we reassess the goals that we had during the previous quarter, and then for the next quarter we decide what we want to focus on.

I always try to make sure that my team and I have goals in multiple parts of our business, and that each individual has a goal that they are moving towards.

When everyone has a goal, it allows him or her to brainstorm creative ways that they can achieve it. I also make sure that there is always a reward for achieving a goal and make sure that the goal is S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely).

6. Inspire Personal Growth and Development

Every quarter I want to make sure that my team is learning and growing, whether that’s in the form of reading books, attending seminars, taking part in courses, etc.

These are things that I support my team with because I want to invest in them, like I invest in myself. By giving the people on my team the opportunity to develop new skills, that in turn supports the growth of my business as well.

My team then shares their ideas with the group, and then for the next quarter we determine how we are going to commit to learning. We make sure that everyone on my team has goals that they are moving towards.

I highly recommend this ritual. If you want to succeed in business, you need to work on it, not in it. Take it seriously and commit to mastery.

You need to be constantly checking-in, assessing, evaluating where you are at, and where you want to go. This is what the most successful companies in the world do.

Act as if you are bigger than you are. Do THIS every 90 days, then watch your life and business change.

3. Enjoy The Process Of Success

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you need to learn how to enjoy the process of success. If you only focus on external rewards from your efforts, you will always be in the rat race. Don’t be a slave to your external environment.

4. Focus on Contribution

At the end of the day, contribution is the ultimate reward in life. I believe that we are all here to give and contribute something, beyond ourselves. Not only does it give you a sense of lasting fulfillment, but it also serves to accelerate your success at a much faster pace.

5. Don’t Be Afraid Of Failure

If you have experienced failure in the past, great! Failure is a normal part of the learning process of life. Thank your failures for the lessons and then let them go.

Accept and learn from your past, but don’t live there, because it doesn’t dictate your future in any way unless you allow it to. If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you will get what you’ve always gotten.

In life and in business, you always have to be growing, improving, and evolving. The world is constantly changing, and if you don't adapt to those changes, you will get left behind. I attribute so much of my success in my online business to the fact that I commit to constant and never-ending improvement every day of my life. I am so committed to self-development, that I built an online brand around it.

In business, constant improvement refers to focusing on activities that add value, and reducing everything else (Kos, 2017). Focus on constantly updating your skills and knowledge, so that you stand out as a thought leader in your industry, and provide massive value to your target market.

Moreover, continuously improve your products, processes, and services, over time. True business growth requires that you do so. In the words of Lou Holtz, “In this world, you're either growing or you're dying, so get in motion and grow.”

2. Build An Online Brand

More than ever before, being a successful entrepreneur requires that you build an online brand. It is what gives you the ultimate competitive advantage. A lot of people want to build an online business, however, they approach it with the wrong mindset; they create a product or service, without building a brand.

The reality is that brands outlive products. For example, when the company, Kraft bought Cadbury for $19.5 Billion, what do you think they bought? The chocolate? No, they bought the brand (Goodson, 2012).

Not only does an online brand create awareness of who you are and what your business stands for, but when it's executed strategically, it is the easiest way to foster the growth of your fan base, while simultaneously elevating your credibility. The reality is that people do business with people that they like and trust.

Jeff Bezos said it best – “Your brand is what other people say about when you are not in the room.” Choose wisely. Your online business growth depends on it.

3. Create Added Value For Customers

In today's online world, if you don't provide high-quality content to your customers and give them what they want, your competitors will do it for you. Your online business isn't about YOU. Rather, it's about meeting your customers' needs and adding value on a consistent basis. This is one of the most effective ways to experience business growth.

Creating business relationships is not about selling, its' about helping. This is where a lot of entrepreneurs make mistakes. Drop the sales tactics and start engaging, educating, communicating, and solving your customer's problems. Figure out what is important to your target market and how your product or service will benefit them, and then, DELIVER.

Adding value is what has allowed me to build a 7-figure online brand. In the words of Tony Robbins, “If you add the value, you will become the brand. Find a way to add more value than anyone else does.”

Tatiana makes $40,000 per month selling on Amazon.

I would like to share with you some of the strategies that she uses in her business that have brought her so much success. Tatiana is a shining example of someone who went from not even owning a computer and working two jobs to support her education to building a successful Amazon business and brand that makes her $40,000/month.  

I wanted to pick Tatiana’s brain about her journey to success. Here is a sneak peak of my interview with her:

You are very involved in the trenches of your business. You’ve experienced and overcome a lot of the barriers that people have with Amazon. You’ve got a great community. Do you want to share with people how you got started in your business?

Stefan and I took a course together 2 years ago called, The Amazing Selling Machine (ASM). It opened my eyes to the possibility of launching an online business. Prior to this, I was working and going to school full-time. The online world didn’t interest me at all. Once I started the ASM course, it sparked my attention.

I felt that I could start an Amazon business, while I was still going to school and working. It’s amazing what it can turn into.  My business is growing every day, but it's still just the beginning. When you have a 9-5 job, there is a cap on the amount of money you can earn, but with an online business, the amount that you can earn is limitless, and that is what is most exciting.

YOU decide what you want to earn. It’s not that easy, but to an extent I know what I have to do now in order to earn an extra $10,000 every month. It’s a matter of your want and need.

Can you share more about your journey, with regards to the 1st product that you started with, to where you are now, in terms of the money that you have been able to make?

My first product was light weight, affordable, and something that I didn’t have to put a large down payment on. I picked a cognac sponge, which is a natural beauty product. It was a good way to test out the product and the market that I was interested in.

I did everything myself, with regards to the design, which allowed me to save a lot of money. I think I only invested $300, and I sourced the product from China. Each unit cost me 10 cents. Shipping was the largest cost. I was selling my first product for $14.99 and I made good profit margins from it.

From the time that you started taking the ASM course, how long did it take you to make your first sale?

It took my almost 3 months for me to start making money, and that is partly because I was only doing it part-time. It took time, with regards to talking to suppliers, because they were located overseas. You need to factor in the time. This is why I suggest starting an Amazon business part-time.

Don’t just jump into it right away and quit your job. It doesn’t consume all of your time right away. You need to scale up. I made my first sale, and then a few months later my first product was doing $3000/month. I was making more money from selling a product online than I was working at my current job. I then focused on launching my second product.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have the mentality that I do now. I focused on finding the next best seller product, instead of focusing on a product that I was passionate about and that I could build my brand around. I just wanted to make money. I wasn’t thinking long-term.

Keep in mind that, eventually, you are going to want to take whatever products you have on Amazon and sell them on your own website or e-commerce store. You can’t do that when you have a bunch of different products in different categories. It makes more sense for your customers when all of your products are a part of one brand name.

My second product was a hot trend and a popular seller. My mentality was, “I’m going to hop on this wagon and by the time I get my product on Amazon, I will be established.” . That happened to a certain extent, but the product that I chose was too much of a trend.

This is why you need to do extensive product research before you launch a product. Although I loved my product, it didn’t work for everybody. My product was a mascara that made your eyelashes longer. That product did $5000/month, which was sourced from China as well. I then decided to create a product that was going to scale more.

Pick a product that will sell for over $20, because that is where you are going to see true profit margins. The cheaper your product is, the less you are going to make. Make sure that whatever product you choose, that you have leeway to make it unique.

If not, you will blend in with everyone else, and then why would they buy from you? With my second product, I marketed it in a different way, but I wasn’t super passionate about it. I realized that I wanted to make more of an impact on peoples’ lives with regards to the products that I was selling.

Do you want to share the transition that you made, with regards to your third product?

I took a step back, stopped selling on Amazon, and tried to figure out what I was doing wrong that I could improve on. I used myself as an example. As a consumer, I looked at my previous purchases on Amazon and I realized that I was buying a lot of waist trainers.

However, every time I bought one, they would break. I thought, “I know how to create and source products, so why don’t I just create my own waist trainer product?” It was a niche market, and I liked that idea. Going niche is the best way because it’s not a saturated market, which means that means that people can find you better.

The one challenge I had with regards to this product was sizing. If you are going into a clothing category, sizing is a big issue, especially on Amazon. They aren’t that great for sellers. For Amazon, anyone that has a prime membership, they give an automatic refund to, but for sellers, you can get screwed over.

I thought, “How am I going to make sure that people measure themselves?” So I started to tap into the power of social media. I discovered that it was a great way to market my product. Amazon is expensive to do ads. With my first and second products, I was reinvesting all of my money into advertising, so I made no money for myself.

If you can utilize social media to your advantage and get free traffic, that’s great. I don’t do any Google or Instagram ads because I don’t need to. If you can be the face behind your brand, it will save you a lot of money. If you can’t, find an influencer who already has a big following on social media, and hire them to be the face behind your brand.

When you first start out on Amazon, you don’t have to order 1000 units. I believe in testing out the market before you make a big investment. I bartered with the manufacturers. I said, “Im not going to purchase 1000 products, MOQ, from you, but I am willing to do 200 units.” Test your product out and see how it works.

I sold my product for $28.99, I was doing some Amazon ads, and I started to get natural reviews from real customers, which helped for my rankings. Then, I started to tap into social media, and all of a sudden I was getting more traffic. I started a YouTube channel, an Instagram account. YouTube helped me because every video that I published, I used my keyword, which was waist trainer. On YouTube, there are not a lot people selling waist training videos. Now, I have 18,000 followers and amazing engagement.

I have a community on Facebook who buys my products. We share photos, post motivational comments, give each other tips, etc., which allows me to see what is and what's not working with my product. Plus, I can get live feedback from people. I take that feedback, and now I know what my next product should be.

Can you talk about the decision that you made to create your own store on your website instead of selling only on Amazon? You still make good money on Amazon, but you are now sending people to your website, correct?”

I was doing well on Amazon. I was selling $41,000/month at the time that I decided to move away from it.  I want to keep my listing live, so I'm still on there, but I stopped focusing on Amazon. They provided me with my client base that I didn’t have before because nobody knew who I was. I used them in order to bring me sales and traffic.

Once people started giving me reviews, my products started rating well, and I started getting external traffic from YouTube. Then I decided that I should take it off of their site. Amazon is great for that reason, but they aren’t great for their sellers.

I wanted to build an online business in order to have more freedom, so I started to sell on my own WordPress website. I got my site built for $300 from Upwork. Anytime I'm promoting something, I promote it to my website or my squeeze page because I'm trying to steer away from Amazon. Last month I did $34,000 on my website.

Finding as many influential people as you can, who have been successful with Amazon, that you can follow and get mentored by is important. There will be a lot of points in this journey where you will feel beat down. Find something or someone that will keep you going.

What was your mindset at the time when you were thinking about launching an Amazon business? What were the fears that you had and how did you overcome them? 

When I met Stefan, I was seeing how well he was doing with his online business. I wasn’t able to wrap my head around it at first, but I always wanted financial freedom.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get past the block that you are only allowed to make a certain amount/year. I thought, “If I make $100,000/year, great.” Open your mind to new possibilities. If you want to make $1 million, you can.

Initially, I took a leap of faith. I didn’t know if I was going to be successful, but I tried anyway. The ASM event is what really changed my mindset. The inspirational stories of people who were making $40,000-200,000/month on Amazon blew me away. Step up and be the person that accepts that this is a possibility for YOU. I’m so excited to keep growing.

What advice would you give to someone that aspires to start building an Amazon business?

If I did not do the ASM course, I would not have been able to do what I did.  Building an Amazon business is a complex process. Yes, you can learn yourself and take the hard way, but it is going to take longer. For me, I believe that if someone has already been successful at something, take their advice and learn from them.

If it is available for you and you can earn more money faster, go for it.  If you can invest in a course, ASM12 is the one. It changed my life. Now, I have the financial freedom that I always dreamed of.

Also, find as many influential people as you can, who have been successful with Amazon, that you can follow and get mentored by. There will be a lot of points in this journey where you will feel beat down. It is important that you find something or someone that will keep you going.

The ASM12 course is an investment. It can be scary to take a risk, but the course will teach you how you can make your money back. It has worked for so many people. It's about overcoming your limiting mindset. If you want to do this, you will find a way, no matter what.

How has your life changed since launching your online business and brand?

Every day I wake up feeling so grateful. I am in charge of my time. I can do whatever I want from 9-5, as long as I accomplish my goals, and that is the most valuable thing that I can have. As my business grows, I know that my life will get better and better. I get to travel with Stefan and enjoy financial freedom.  Overall, I am more calm, and although I still experience stress, it’s good stress because I am inspired and have built a brand that I am passionate about.

I’m so grateful that I was able to share Tatiana’s journey to success. She makes $40,000 per month on Amazon at 23 years old.  I'm so proud of everything that she has accomplished, to-date.  She is proof that anything is possible, no matter how old you are.  If you believe you can create an online business, you will. I would like to answer a question that someone sent me recently on Snapchat regarding how to make $100,000 in a year.  The amount of money that you make in your life right now, is in direct proportion to the amount of value that you are adding to your employer, company, marketplace, or business.

If you want to make more money, ask yourself, “What are the skills and qualities that I need to develop in order to become more valuable, and what value do I need to contribute to others in order to make $100,000 in a year?”  At the age of 17, I became obsessed with the world of self-development. I started reading a lot of books, which led me to attend seminars and workshops, which then led me to buy online training programs, which then led me to hiring coaches and mentors to further support my growth. I have been rinsing and repeating this process for the last 13 years of my life. This is how I became a multi-millionaire.

If you want to achieve success in life, you need to build a strong foundation, by way of developing your skills and talents. As Jim Rohn said, “Your income seldom exceeds your level of personal development.” The more you grow, the more money that you will make. It’s that simple.

I am constantly learning and growing.  Last month alone, I attended four different seminars, investing thousands of dollars into myself.  View yourself as a competitive product with features and benefits, all waiting to be improved upon year over year (Quast, 2013).  When you do so, you will differentiate yourself from others.  I am successful because my products and services give people results. However, that only happens because I put in what I give out. If you are an entrepreneur, you need to understand that you get paid for solving other peoples’ problems, at a profit.

I know that the more people I impact and add massive value to, the more success I will achieve in my business. I put my needs secondary to the needs of my audience, because I want to understand whom it is that I am communicating with and supporting. I know that if I over-deliver, people will like and trust me, and in turn buy from me again and again.

The best way to sum up how to make $100,000 in a year comes down to doing two things – grow and give. This is my ultimate purpose in life. Contribute beyond yourself and strive to make a difference in the lives of others. When you do, you will experience a sense of true fulfillment. In the words of Bo Sanchez, “Earn more to grow more, and grow more to give more.”

I make mistakes every day in my business.   In doing so, I learn valuable lessons, which ensures that I don’t make the same mistakes again in the future. Why do so many people stay in their comfort zone? Because it's comfortable. Research shows that your comfort zone is a behavioral space where your activities and behaviors fit a routine and pattern that minimizes stress and risk.

Arnold Shwarzennegger understood that this commitment to excruciating failure wasn't for everyone: “This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion. That's what most people lack: having the guts to go on and just say they'll go through the pain, no matter what happens.”

You can only grow if you are willing to try new things.  Growth demands that you fail more. There is a sense of accomplishment that comes from pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone. When it comes to failure, don’t play the blame game.   You are the master of your emotions.

You cannot control the outside world, but you can control your inner world. Jonathan Martensson said that, “Emotions are much like waves, we can’t stop them from coming but we can choose which one to surf”. Fear is a powerful, and sometimes crippling emotion. You need to learn how to use fear to your advantage so that you can achieve your goals.

How do you this?  By turning fear on its head. Instead of letting it destroy you, let it push you forward. Fear can become a powerful motivator, if you allow it to be. The more that you are willing to experiment and try new things in your business, the more successful that you will become.

Don’t be afraid to take a risk and try new things so that you can grow, improve and move forward. In the words of Tony Robbins, “Focus on where you want to go, not on what you fear”. If you want to succeed, fail more.
