Are you settling for mediocrity?

Mediocrity is the state of accepting and living life according to average standards.

I understand why settling is tempting. I've been there. It's the safer option. Unfortunately, nothing grows in a comfort zone.

You can be, do and have whatever it is that you want in life. However, you have to be willing to do what most will not.

If you want to know how you can stop playing small and start living bigger, read this!

Are you ready to break free from the mediocre majority?

Unfortunately, the majority of people lower their standards and settle for less. They don't know how to take charge of their life. Instead, they try to escape their reality by numbing their emotions through drugs, food, or alcohol. Their goal is to avoid how they truly feel.

They work, day in and day out, at a job that they hate and live paycheck to paycheck. Although they are unhappy and desire to make a change, the unknown terrifies them. So much so that they decide to remain complacent.

The problem is that we live in a society that encourages us to conform to social norms. A study published in Nature Human Behaviour shows that people tend to copy other people’s choices, even when they know that those people did not make their choices freely, and when the decision does not reflect their preferences.

If you do whatever everyone else does, you'll get what everyone else gets – not much! Fitting in should never be the goal. Rather, you should strive to stand out. This is the moment at which you take control of your life.

Get real with yourself… are you stuck in a mediocrity trap?

Are you living life on other people's terms or your terms? I don't know about you but living a life of mediocrity is the one thing that terrifies me the most. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest.

If you're not satisfied with your life right now, here's the great news… YOU have the power to change your story. At this moment, you can commit to living bigger. Doing so will require that you raise their standards so that you can design a life that you desire and deserve.

Before you can live bigger, you need to understand what your current mental model is. People live in 3 different time zones, so to speak – the past, the present, or the future.

Living in the past is the WORST place to focus your attention because the past is said and done. You no longer have control over it.

You cannot create a compelling future or make any progress in life if you take this route. A lot of people ruminate on the pain of what happened to them in the past. They adopt a victim mentality because they don't think that they have the power to change their circumstances. I used to be this person.

When I was 17 years old, I was insecure and depressed. I hated myself and my life, and I didn't believe that I could change. Once I dove into the world of self-development, I decided to no longer accept self-defeat. I realized that my past didn't have to equal my future. That “aha” moment was a game-changer.

Some people choose to live in the present moment.

The present moment is all that we have, so we have to make the best of it!

However, there are consequences to adopting this belief. If you live in the here and now and focus on instant gratification at the expense of your future, you will get yourself into trouble.

If you're not planning for your retirement NOW and investing in your future, you will pay the price down the road. Yes, it's hard to save your money and make sacrifices. However, what's even harder is when you're 65 years old and you can barely survive financially. That's painful.

Only you can choose your version of hard. The same thing goes for your health. Today, you can flood your body with whatever you want – junk food, alcohol, drugs. However, down the road, you will pay the price.

Are the pleasures that you are indulging in right now going to backfire on you in your future? Is this way of living sustainable, long-term?

You don't want your physical vitality to be comprised. Living with obesity, diabetes, heart disease, or cancer is no way to live. At a certain point in your life, if you do get sick, no amount of money will save you.

Some of the wealthiest people in the world would give all of their money away if it meant that they could live longer. What dictates the quality of your health long-term is how you decide to live in the present moment.

Some people live in the future.

They strategize and anticipate what could go wrong. Usually, this means sacrificing their present moment experiences to set themselves up for success down the road.

At the same time, if you're only living for the future and you become overly obsessed with the destination, you will miss out on the journey.

So the question is… What is the BEST way to live?

Well, I think you can have a balance of all three. The best thing that you can do is learn from your past, enjoy the beauty of the present moment, and plan for your future. The key to accomplishing this feat is by raising your standards.

Don't accept mediocrity. Hear me out… you can settle for good. However, we live in a competitive world. Good isn't good enough, especially if you're an entrepreneur. If you want to be successful in business, you have to over-deliver and do what others will not.

The same thing goes for a 9-5 job. You won't climb the corporate ladder if you don't go above and beyond in your role. Somebody else will come along and do a better job because they will be more hungry to stand out and achieve more.

The same thing goes for a relationship. If you don't show up for your partner's needs and do the work, he/she will not feel seen and may look elsewhere for attention.

If your version of good is not yielding the results that you desire, you have to commit to doing better. Practice doing hard things consistently.

This is how you develop unshakeable grit and become the master of your world.

It all comes down to one decision – how you are going to play the game of life? Will you choose to be a spectator, sitting on the sidelines and watching everyone else succeed, or will you be the superstar of your life?

Yes, choosing the latter can be scary and uncomfortable. However, it's better to dare greatly than never try. If you're reading this, you're not a dabbler. You're showing up for yourself and consuming knowledge because you want to learn and grow. Am I right?

If you're feeling stuck right now, that's OK. It's not comfortable to reflect upon where you're falling short. However, it's also a prerequisite for growth. If you don't get real with yourself and admit what is not working in your life, you won't know what you need to change.

Use your pain as motivation. Which pain is worse? The pain of discipline or the pain of regret? Only you can answer this question.

I don't know about you, but I would rather endure the pain of discipline so that I can write on my tombstone one day, “I lived with no f*ucking regrets.”

Are you settling in your life?

If so, now is the time to do something about it. Stop settling for less than you deserve. Your spirit is unlimited and you are capable of so much more than you could ever imagine.

It's time for you to get out of your way, stop sabotaging yourself, and start unleashing your power. Everything that you need is inside of you. It's up to you to decide if you are ready to embark on your hero's journey.

With transformation comes adversity. If you want to actualize your potential, you must courageously stay the course. It's not what you achieve, but who you become along your journey that matters most.

In the words of the famous author Joseph Campbell, “If you travel far enough, you’ll eventually meet yourself.”

What is ONE thing that you will commit to doing today that will help you raise your standards? Change starts with a single step. Take a deep breath and start walking.

Are you ready to create long-term wealth and build a profitable online business? CLICK HERE to take my FREE 60-second quiz to find out which business model is best for you!

This is how to create wealth, even if you're starting from zero.

A lot of people want to know what the magic bullet is for creating wealth fast. Unfortunately, there is no get-rich-quick scheme to becoming ultra-successful. Eighty percent of wealth is based on one's psychology, while only 20 percent is based on mechanics.

This is why I am a believer in developing a millionaire mindset before doing anything else. Wealthy people think and act differently. Cultivating a millionaire mindset is what will help you reach your long-term financial goals.

I recently read an article by CNBC that talked about the net worth that each generation says they need to be considered wealthy in 2021:

  • Millennials (aged 24-39) – $1.4 million
  • Gen X (aged 40-55) – $1.9 million
  • Baby Boomers (56-74) – $2.5 million

When I was 27 years old I became a millionaire. It was an amazing experience to hit that milestone. Honestly, I achieved that goal with some mixed feelings. Once I made one million dollars, I soon realized that it wasn't enough money.

I was been born and raised in Vancouver, Canada which is one of the most expensive places in the world. I can't even buy a 1,500 square foot condo in Vancouver for $1,000,000!

Of course, the amount of money that you need to live comfortably will be based on where in the world you live. Nevertheless, I want to encourage you to think bigger than the net worth figures that you see above.

At the end of the day, it's up to YOU to define what wealth means to you.

How much money do you really need? What financial goal do you want to strive towards? I encourage you to take some time to reflect upon and answer these questions.

Inside this blog, I'm going to share 10 steps for creating wealth that will allow you to become financially free. I've broken down these 10 steps into the following 4 stages.

Stage 1 – Mindset

The first stage lays the foundation for your success. It encompasses your strategy, habits, psychology, and mindset.

A lot of people try to create wealth by starting a business or by investing. Unfortunately, they forget about the inner game of success. If you believe that you deserve success, naturally you will do whatever it takes to become successful.

However, if you have not yet done the work to reprogram your limiting beliefs, you'll only end up sabotaging your success. It's the inner game that produces the outer results.

Stage 2 – Hustle

The second stage is all about the hustle. If you want to become wealthy, you will have to take massive action and work harder than you've ever worked in your life. In effect, you'll have to do what most people will not do. If you master stage 1, you'll be fully ready for this stage.

Stage 3 – Investing

The third stage is all about investing. Once you have money, it's so much easier to make more money. Investing allows you to create large sums of money without a lot of effort.

I am currently in this stage. I don't need to hustle anymore. Typically, I only work 10 hours per week. I make more money investing than I do in my business.

If you're still hustling then you're not learning how to leverage your skills and make your money work for you. Figure out how you can get more results with less effort. The goal is to work smarter, not harder.

Stage 4 – Optimization

This is when you optimize your taxes. The biggest expense you'll ever pay is in taxes. Some people ask me, “Why did you move from Canada to Panama?” One of the main reasons was tax optimization.

By living in Panama I save millions of dollars in taxes. That is what has allowed me to accelerate my net worth. It would have taken me years to do this if I was still living in Canada. Half of my income would have gone towards taxes.

Ten Steps For Creating Wealth

I want to compel you to take notes as you move through these steps. My outcome isn't merely to give you information. Rather, I want you to implement what it is that I'm going to teach you.

Consuming information and then taking massive action is the recipe for radically transforming your life. These steps aren't easy, but they are simple. Let's dive in!

Step #1 – Create A Vision & Purpose For Creating Wealth

If you don't know the kind of lifestyle that you want to have, you'll never be able to figure out how much money you will need.

In my early 20s, I decided to write out what my ideal day would look like. I used my imagination and shifted into a mindset of possibility. I would recite my vision out loud to myself every day. Doing so made it feel real.

Another great way to make your vision a reality is to create a vision board. When you do either of these exercises make sure that you dream BIG. It will keep you hyper-focused and inspired to build the lifestyle that you desire.

You can take it one step further and do dream building. This is where you go to open houses that are outside of your price range. Browse around and get a feel about what it would be like to live in your desired home. Similarly, you could go to a car dealership and take a Ferrari for a test drive.

Once you know what your vision is you need to get clear on what your purpose is. Why do you want to create wealth? This is the 80% that will lead to your success.

I challenge you to create 100 reasons why you want success.

If you can ingrain those truths into your psyche, you will be successful. Here's what I know to be true… if you have a strong enough ‘WHY', you will continue failing forward.

If you can't find a way, you'll make a way. Metaphorically speaking, you'll go over the wall, through the wall, and around the wall. If you want success badly enough, you'll do anything to achieve it.

Step #2 – Cultivate A Wealth Mindset & Habits

First, if you want to create wealth, there are certain beliefs that you need to reprogram. How you were taught to think about money when you were growing up determines your relationship with money in adulthood.

These are referred to as “money scripts” – your values and beliefs about money that you grew up with that impact your habits today. Oftentimes, people aren't even consciously aware of how these beliefs impact them negatively.

For example, if your parents taught you that money is bad and that rich people are evil, what are the chances of you becoming a rich person? You won't! As long as you link pain to wealth, you'll never become wealthy.

Instead, if you link pleasure to people who are wealthy, you will be motivated to create wealth. One of the best ways to reprogram your money scripts is to study wealthy people – read their books, go through their courses, and attend their seminars. Find out what they are doing.

Success always leaves clues. I published a video on my YouTube channel where I walk you through my top 10 books for creating financial freedom. I encourage you to take the mindset and strategies of these authors and apply them to your life.

Second, I want to empower you to learn how to delay gratification A lot of people make money, and then they spend it right away. If you can delay gratification, save your money, and invest it into your future, you will create more wealth. You've got to be willing to make short-term sacrifices for long-term gain.

Third, you need to build a strong work ethic. Cultivate the habit of over-delivering.

Be the best at what you do every single day.

Go above and beyond. In the business world, this habit will serve you tremendously when it comes to building a brand and creating raving fans.

Finally, always strive to fail forward. Failure is an inevitable part of doing business.

When things don't work out the way that you expected they would, don't put your head in the sand and give up. Rather, find the opportunities from growth and learn from your mistakes.

The goal is to move from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm. Ultimately, by failing forward you will become more resilient which will ensure that you never give up.

Step #3 – Know Where You're Starting From

You have to know what your current net worth is. That is the number that matters most. It's not how much money that you make that matters. Rather, it's how much money that you keep. If you're living paycheck to paycheck you will never get ahead in life.

The way that you determine your net worth is by knowing what your assets and liabilities are. Your assets are things like cash in the bank, investments, your online business, or your computer. An example of a liability would be debt.

For example, let's say that you had $5,000 in the bank, but you had $40,000 in student loan debt. If you took your assets and subtracted your liabilities, you would have a $-35,000 net worth. Yes, a student loan debt can be an investment IF it gets you a great job, but at this moment it's a liability.

Tracking your assets and your liabilities every 3 months on a spreadsheet is a great strategy to consistently knowing your net worth. You want to make sure that your net worth goes up every quarter. That's how you measure your progress over time.

Step #4 – Master Money Management

You have to become a master of money. This means that you have to know what your income and expenses are, and you have to track your finances. All wealthy people are great money managers.

The key to creating wealth is to spend less than you earn and invest the difference. From there, you want to re-invest those profits to create even more wealth. If you are spending what you earn, there will be no difference that you can save or invest.

Thus, you'll just keep spinning your wheels and never get ahead financially. If you can't manage the money that you currently have, you won't be able to manage millions of dollars. It's that simple.

Make it a habit of managing your finances. A great way to do this is by tracking your income and your expenses weekly. The reason why I suggest doing this every week is that it allows you to set a budget for yourself. If you overspend in one area of your life, you will be better able to catch yourself and make an adjustment.

Also, you want to make sure that you have 3-6 months' worth of savings of whatever your monthly expenses are. For example, if your experiences are $2,000 per month, you want to have $6,000 saved.

This is your emergency money. If you end up losing your job or have a medical expense that you have to pay for, this money will help you sleep at night. You never want to be in a position where you have zero savings and you have to sell your investments for an emergency.

Step #5 – Set Financial Goals

Your financial goals are the stepping stones that allow you to turn your vision into a reality. You'll have to set many different types of financial goals, whether that's paying off debt, launching your product, or creating a monthly budget.

When you are setting your goals, you want to make sure that they are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-based). As an example, let's say that you want to publish a Kindle book on Amazon. Here is an example of how you would use the SMART goal criteria to set that goal:

  • Specific: I will write a book about how to be more productive and it will be 100 pages long.
  • Measurable: I will write one chapter every two weeks.
  • Attainable: I will finish the book in 1 month. Once it is completed, I will publish it on Amazon.
  • Relevant: Writing a book on productivity will help me grow my coaching business.
  • Time-based: I will sell 100 copies of my book in 6 months.

I would suggest setting weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals where you determine how much money you want to make. Every time that you achieve a goal, you will gain confidence and momentum. Success breeds more success.

Step #6 – Choose Your Vehicle For Creating Wealth

You want to reflect on what your vision is and figure out which vehicle will allow you to create the wealth that you desire. Here is my story about how I ended up choosing my vehicle.

Early on I knew that if I went to university and invested $100,000 into my education, I could end up getting into a lot of debt in my 20s. If I started making $60,000 per year in a job, I knew that it would take me years to pay off my debt.

If I continued to gain experience in a role perhaps I could eventually make $100,00 per year. However, there would be no way to know for sure. As a result, I knew that this path would not lead to the vision that I had for my life.

I realized that the most successful people were entrepreneurs. They took their ideas, turned them into a reality, and profited from their passion.

A lot of people start a business with very little money. However, if they commit to the process, they can end up becoming extremely wealthy in 5-10 years. I started studying these types of people. I read their books, took their courses, attended their events, and listened to their podcasts.

Taking it one step further, I even found ways to add value to successful people so that I could be mentored by them. I started to implement their success habits into my daily life. Within a few years, I had an online business that was making incredible money.

Entrepreneurship was the vehicle that transformed my entire life. Everyone is different. Only you can decide which vehicle is best for you and your life.

Step #7 – Master Your Wealth Vehicle

Once you know what your wealth vehicle is, you need to master it! Who do you need to learn from? Which books do you need to read? What mindsets and habits do you need to cultivate?

Determine how you can immerse yourself in your chosen vehicle within the next year so that you can become a master of your craft. You won't achieve massive success by chasing shiny objects and being a jack-of-all-trades.

Rather, you need to stay focused on one thing and go deep with it. Furthermore, you want to figure out which high-income skill(s) you need to cultivate that will make you rich. For me, this was speaking and coaching. Focus on being great at one or two things and leverage them.

If you decide to build an online business, two of the most important high-income skills that you should master are sales and marketing. They are the lifeblood of every business.

Step #8 – Create Leverage To Scale Your Wealth

When you start a business and you find your high-income skill, that's enough to make you a 6-figure income. However, if you want to create the next level of wealth, the next step is learning how to create leverage and scale your vehicle.

This is where you start working smarter and leverage the power of outsourcing. One of the biggest challenges that entrepreneurs face is that they try to do everything on their own. However, you can't scale your business if you're wearing all of the hats. Time is money.

At a certain point, you've got to know what your time is worth. You want to be spending time on things that produce the most revenue.

Financial success is the result of you working ON your business instead of IN your business. That should always be the end goal. You don't want to be a business operator. Rather, you want to be a business owner.

Step #9 – Invest For Financial Freedom

At this stage, you want to figure out how you can make your money work for you. You should have over $1,000 per month to invest.

There are a variety of different investment vehicles that you can choose from, whether it's real estate, stocks, ETFs, or investing in other businesses.

Pick 1-2 vehicles and go deep with them. For me, that has been investing in stocks and cryptocurrencies. You want to get clear on your investing strategy and not dilute your focus. Most of the top entrepreneurs in the world have moved into this stage.

Step #10 – Optimize Your Wealth

At this stage, you're making a lot of money. Your taxes become the biggest expense that you have. You want to figure out a strategy for how you can pay less. When I started making millions of dollars and paying half of my income in taxes, I decided to give up my Canadian residency.

I moved to Panama, became a digital nomad, and set up an offshore corporation in Singapore. It cost a lot of money to do this, but I knew that it would be worth it. If I did this for a few years I knew that I would save millions of dollars in taxes, and that is exactly what happened.

I invested the money that I saved. As a result, I've built my net worth faster than I ever would have had I stayed in Canada.

Another thing that you're going to focus on at this stage is diversification and allocating your investments. I don't want to have all of my investments in stocks. Rather, I want to branch off and have them in different asset classes, long-term. Always think big picture about how you're going to create the next level of wealth. Decide what amount of money will allow you to live life on your terms.

These are the 10 steps for creating wealth (even if you have no money right now).

I promise you that if you follow the above 10 steps and you go deep with each one of them, there is no limit to how much money you can make. Start the journey of creating financial freedom and building your dream lifestyle today!

Motivation is a key ingredient for entrepreneurial success. It is the secret sauce that turns a dream into a reality.

Motivation is what gets you started.

Everyone is capable of building an online business. I've never met anyone who isn't capable of it. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone is built for it. Not everyone is willing to go through the entrepreneurial journey.

In the world of entrepreneurship, there are a lot of things that aren't certain. However, there is one thing that you can be certain of – you will encounter failures and disappointments. Success isn't a linear process. Rather, it's a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. There will be ups and downs.

With growth, comes setbacks. It always comes back to this truth… how bad do you want it? Bad enough that you're willing to do anything and everything to achieve success?

When I first started my online business I was willing to sacrifice things that others would not. There was no Plan B for the direction that I wanted my life to take. I was willing to work as if my life depended on it. If I couldn't find a way, I was willing to make a way.

Being an entrepreneur isn't easy.

One of the most common reasons why entrepreneurs give up is because of a lack of determination, motivation, and grit. It takes serious commitment to start and build an online business. You've got to be willing to be all-in.

When people first start their online business there is a surge of excitement and motivation. They are ready to be their own boss, make their own schedule, and have freedom of time. However, they are soon hit with the reality of what it actually takes to be successful.

Running a business is like raising a child. You have to invest an insane amount of time, hard work, and passion into it if you want to see it grow. Here is my BEST advice for starting an online business the right way in 2021.

1. Take Imperfect Action

A lot of people fall into the trap of saying all of the things that they want to do in their online business. However, they never end up taking action to make them happen. Stop thinking and start doing! Stop wasting time planning and waiting for the perfect time to start. Just start.

When you move into action mode, you beat analysis paralysis. Take action every day to grow your business. It doesn't matter how slow you go, just don't stop. By taking one step at a time and making progress, it will build your confidence. In turn, you will be inspired to do more. This is when your business has the potential to scale.

2. Invest in Yourself

The more that you learn, the more money that you will earn. It's that simple. If you want to add more value, you must commit to growing and improving yourself. The success that I have today is because of the thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars that I've invested into my personal development.

In short, I took crazy and extreme actions to be successful. I knew that if I wanted to grow my business, I first had to grow myself. I went all in and it paid off. When you first start your online business there is massive a learning curve. I'm not going to lie… it's challenging.

At first, everything is brand new. This is why I'm a big believer in investing in training programs, courses, mentors, and coaches. Anything that helps you fastrack your success and shorten your learning curve is key.

3. Treat Your Online Business Like A Job

Entrepreneurship is a career. If you want to succeed, you have to treat it as such. You can't dabble. A lot of people get themselves into trouble because they don't have any accountability system in place.

In a 9 to 5 job, you are accountable to your boss – you have to do whatever he/she tells you to do. If you don't, you get fired. There are consequences.

However, as an entrepreneur, you are only accountable to yourself. Everything is on YOU. There are no set work hours. Thus, you've got to carve out specific times during the day that you devote to building your business.

You've got to be diligent. If you treat your online business like you would a job, you will make progress and get results. Give your online business the focus that it deserves. Treat it like the real business that it is.

This is my best advice for starting an online business.

Success isn't a matter of ability. Rather, it's a matter of motivation. If you want something bad enough and you refuse to give up, there is no limit to how successful you can be.

Commit to yourself that 2021 will be the year that you build an online business that adds massive value to the world. I know that you're capable of doing it. The question is… do you know?

Entrepreneurship is a roller coaster ride.

A lot of people get disillusioned by fairytale entrepreneurial success stories. They assume that if they follow the get-rich-quick schemes for making money online, they will become rich overnight. Yes, some people get lucky and achieve success fast, but for the majority of people, entrepreneurship can feel like a grind, one that takes years of blood, sweat, and tears.

Eric Worre said it best, “Most people think that they deserve success as some sort of right, but here’s the truth. Success is something that you earn through effort.”

If you aren't prepared for the ride or aren't willing to do what is necessary to become successful, you'll end up ditching the ride halfway through. Get real and ask yourself, “How bad do you want success?” If you want it more than anything in this world, keep reading.

Here is my best advice for becoming a successful online entrepreneur.

1. Take Massive Action

A lot of people have the desire to learn and grow, but they aren't committed to taking action with the knowledge that they consume. In short, they become passive learners. Don't get me wrong… knowledge is powerful, but it means nothing if you don't do something with it.

In many cases, learning is a way to avoid taking action on the goals and interests that we say are important to us. Have you ever caught yourself doing this? This is the behavior of a dabbler and something that you want to be aware of and steer clear of at all costs.

2. Surround Yourself With Successful People

You will not improve yourself if you aren't willing to change your environment in a way that supports your growth. Your environment influences how you think and act. If you aspire to grow and become a successful entrepreneur, you have to surround yourself with people who demonstrate the qualities that you desire to emulate.

As Jim Rohn famously said, “You’re the average of the five people you spend time with.” When choosing the right people, look for values matches and gravitas. “Values match” means finding people who share similar values with yours. “Gravitas” refers to people who have greater skills in an area that you want to grow and improve.

If your environment contains negative people, you will feel energetically drained and have a difficult time experiencing any progress. You'll hold yourself back. That's the last thing you want. Now is the time to get real with yourself – do the people in your life support and uplift you to become more and achieve greatness? If not, it's time to find a new and empowering tribe of people who are going in the same direction as you. Sometimes the truth hurts, but the truth will also set you free.

3. Trust The Process

The reason why a lot of businesses fail is that entrepreneurs give up too quickly. Those that make it and go onto experience massive success embrace failure and use it as a tool to grow and become more. They trust the process and are willing to delay short-term gratification because they have an unwavering belief in their vision.

If they can't find a way, they make a way. Does this describe you? If not, it's time to rethink how bad you want success. In the words of Arthur Ashe, “Success is a journey, not a final destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.” What matters most is not where you end up, but who you become along the way.

4. Invest In Your Personal Growth

A major reason why my fiancée Tatiana and I have achieved so much success is that we are constantly investing in our personal growth and development. We do this through a variety of different mediums, like reading self-help books, hiring coaches and mentors, buying courses, and attending seminars.

Learning from people who are more successful than we are has been key to leveraging our online business success. Don't be afraid to invest in yourself. It is the most important investment you will make in life. If you have the desire to build an eCommerce business, I highly recommend that you follow Tatiana's YouTube channel and her Instagram page.

She has built a 7-figure business selling on Amazon & Shopify. If you're serious about becoming an online entrepreneur and putting in the hard work, her content will set you up to win.

This is my best advice for becoming an online entrepreneur.

The next time you encounter challenges in your business, come back to this blog post. Remember why you started in the first place. Why do you want to be an online entrepreneur? What is your ultimate dream lifestyle? Remain steadfast under pressure and never lose sight of your goals.

Most importantly, don't quit. If you get tired take a break, but never throw in the towel. Your future is counting on you. I hope these words motivate you to build a sustainable business that affords you the life of your wildest dreams.

Let's face it… why not you? You deserve to have it all.

Here is the best entrepreneur advice for beginners.

At the beginning of an entrepreneurial journey it can feel like a roller coaster ride, filled with highs and lows. If you want to succeed in the startup world, you need to learn how to navigate this bumpy terrain so that you come out on top.

The reality is that 8 out of 10 businesses fail in the first year. How would it feel if you could avoid the mistakes that 80% of people make? If more entrepreneurs were armed with the right advice, I think that these numbers would be lower.

Starting a business requires a myriad of personality traits; like hard work, grit, patience, sacrifice, energy, and a passion to succeed. Only the strong survive. Are you one of them?

In this book, The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster: Why Now Is the Time to #JoinTheRide, Darren Hardy says that people who make the jump into entrepreneurship just aren't ready, prepared, or equipped.

I want to share with you the best entrepreneur advice for beginners, comprised of skills that every entrepreneur must master:

1. Believe in Yourself

Making the choice to become an entrepreneur takes courage, especially when family or friends don’t support your vision, which is why you need to believe in yourself.

The most successful people in this world didn’t get to where they are today by doubting themselves. Talk to yourself as if you are a winner.

If you don’t believe in yourself, who will believe in you? This is your life, your choices, and your destiny. Make it count. As Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.”

2. Master Your Emotions

If you want to succeed at anything in life, it starts with going inward and learning how to master your emotions. Successful entrepreneurs don’t let their emotions drive their decisions. Rather, they remain calm and calculated under pressure.

A business that is based on reactive decisions will only result in failure. Yes, you will get triggered, but it is up to you to learn how to calm your ‘emotional storm’ so that you can master any challenge that stands in your way of success.

3. Enjoy The Process Of Success

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you need to learn how to enjoy the process of success. If you only focus on external rewards from your efforts, you will always be in the rat race. Don’t be a slave to your external environment.

Even when you start making a certain amount of money and become financially free, it won’t be enough. You will always be looking for the next best thing.

The chase will never make you happy, which is why you need to become less attached to the final outcome and enjoy the process of success. That is where the real growth lies.

4. Focus on Contribution

Take a moment and think about how lucky you are to be able to do what you love. Having an appreciation for your accomplishments carries more meaning when you are able to give back and make a positive impact on the lives of others.

At the end of the day, contribution is the ultimate reward in life. I believe that we are all here to give and contribute something, beyond ourselves. Not only does it give you a sense of lasting fulfillment, but it also serves to accelerate your success at a much faster pace.

In the words of Zig Ziglar, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”

5. Don’t Be Afraid Of Failure

If you have experienced failure in the past, great! Failure is a normal part of the learning process of life. Thank your failures for the lessons and then let them go.

Accept and learn from your past, but don’t live there, because it doesn’t dictate your future in any way unless you allow it to. If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you will get what you’ve always gotten.

It’s easy to feel shitty when things don’t go your way, but if you want to truly succeed as an entrepreneur you have to use pain as motivation, and develop the mindset and the willpower to keep pushing despite the obstacles that stand in your way.

Use failure as a tool for growth and change. It has the ability to propel you forward and prepare you for what lies ahead.

Being a successful entrepreneur doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long-term commitment, but the payoff is sweet. This is the best entrepreneur advice for beginners. I challenge you to start utilizing these skills in your business. The result? Business mastery.

I would like to share with you how to become a life coach.

If you have aspirations to coach, serve and help people, I respect and admire you because that tells me that you want to make a difference in the lives of others.

If people come to you for help, that is a good indicator that you are viewed as a source of inspiration and someone that can provide solutions to challenges.

Coaching is about connecting with people, and inspiring them to grow and become the best versions of themselves. I see so many new coaches emerge into the field with misguided ideas about the act and process of life coaching.

What is your intention in becoming a life coach?  Make sure that it is transparent, authentic, and pure. Without these qualities, you will never be able to develop a trusting relationship with your clients. If your only motivator is making money or boosting your ego, you won’t get far.

I believe that the #1 quality in a coach is empathy. Your success as a coach depends on your ability to listen, understand, and share the feelings of your clients. People appreciate the feeling of being heard. That is why they come to you in the first place.

Life experience can be a bonus when working with your clients.  Depending on what you are coaching on, putting yourself in someone else’s shoes can create a strong bond between you and your client.

In the words of Brene Brown, “Empathy is about communicating that incredibly healing message of, you’re not alone.”

The feeling of “being there” allows clients to feel safe and supported in their story. I’ve been coaching for over 10 years. I started off as a dating coach because that was the area of my life where I struggled the most. When people saw the transformation that I made, they asked me for help.

Caring about your clients is what allows you to tap into your power.  The only way that I am able to do what I do is because my caring is my power. I know that making money is just a reward that I receive for doing a great job. The more value that you add to the lives of your clients, the more money you will make.

I’ve worked with 1000’s of people – I host workshops, mastermind events, I coach people online, and now my YouTube channel has reached over 10 million views. I have built my life and my business around personal growth and development.

I am obsessed with learning, and that is what has supported my success as a coach. If you want to be a successful coach, focus on your own personal development journey first so that you can become the person that others seek out for advice and support. When you are at your best that will allow you to serve people at the highest possible level.

When you are first starting out, I recommend that you provide free advice.  Share your expertise and things that have helped you. This will build trust with your audience. If people aren’t willing to receive your free content, than why would they pay for your services?

For example, you could offer 5 free sessions over a 3-month period to people in your network. Gain feedback on yourself, receive testimonials, set up a YouTube channel, build a website, and share your story. Ultimately, people will sign up for your coaching services, not because of a certificate that you have, but because of who you are

Coaching is about relating to other people.   Be authentic and people will connect with you. There are degrees and training courses that you can do in order to get certified as a coach, but remember that coaching is about results and providing your clients with a model for change.

The more results you get, the more credibility that you will have, and the more money you can charge. I don’t have any formal coaching education. I became a coach because I was proof that change was possible. I became someone that people sought out.  I was able to accelerate the process of others achieving results in their lives, based on my experiences.

When you first start charging for your services, start low. Like, $50/hour. If you cant get people to pay you $50/hour than you need to start off free. Its not until people perceive what you are worth that you can charge more money. For example, I have been working on my YouTube channel for the last five years. As I produced more and more valuable content, people wanted to be coached by me.

As I became more in demand, I started charging more and more money. As time went on, I took on limited clients and charged premium rates. If you want to create a flourishing coaching business, you need to become a thought leader in a specific area and share your expertise. This is the best way to attract, support, and engage with the people that you want to help.

Build your value so that you are perceived as valuable. In the words of Einstein, “Strive not to be a success, but to be of value.” As you grow as a coach, you want to leverage and scale yourself. Do one-on-one coaching and eventually do group coaching. With this coaching model, you can take on more people for the same amount of time.

You could also do Q&A coaching, webinar coaching, in-person coaching events, or Skype coaching sessions. As you grow, you can expand and leverage your business in multiple ways. The best advice that I can give you in terms of how to become a life coach is to develop your credibility and your ability to serve others.

Albert Schweitzer said it best – “The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others.”

Good luck with your coaching business!

What is your X-Factor in your business?

You know, the way that you stand out and differentiate yourself from your competitors. Every business need an X-Factor, as it's the only way to be successful over the long-term.

If you just try to fit in and be like everyone else, then you're not adding any additional value of what already exists in the marketplace. Business requires constant innovation and creativity.  That allows you to be unique and stand out from the pack.  Ultimately, this is what gives you an edge over everyone else and keeps you on top.

This video blog will explain how I came up with my X-Factor for my business and how you can discover yours and stand out in your business.

How I Stand Out From The Rest…

When I created Project Life Mastery, I thought carefully about how I could stand out and differentiate myself from other bloggers out there. I didn't want to be just like every other blog on the internet that doesn't make any money or have much success. Here are some of the ways that I've been able to stand out:

  • I decided to not just talk about a specific niche, such as “making money online” or “fitness advice”.  Instead, I took the approach of “life mastery” and made the theme of my blog much broader and bigger.  As a result, I attract and speak to high achievers – people that want to have a balance in their lives and success in ALL areas, not just one.
  • I don't just write articles or blog posts.  I record videos and put myself out there on YouTube.  I also built a podcast, so that people can also listen to my content and engage with me in a variety of ways.  This has allowed me to speak to more people and have people relate to me on a much deeper level.
  • My personality allows me to stand out from everyone else.  Everyone relates to different speaking styles, personalities, ages, genders, etc… by implanting my personality into my content, it allows people to relate and connect with me even more.
  • I'm transparent.  I share my life openly and courageously.  If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, then you'll see many pictures and videos over the years of my personal life.  This gives my subscribers a chance to get to know the real me.  I'm also transparent about my successes and failures, my accomplishments and my journey.  This is all well documented with my Monthly Goals Reports.
  • I openly share my goals every year on my blog, as well as my Monthly Goals Reports every month.  I'm giving progress reports and updates on my blog with my goals, which is something unique to me and Project Life Mastery.  I know of others doing “Income Reports”, but I'm the first that I know of that does Goals Reports.
  • My success is something that makes me stand out from everyone else.  Not just financially, but in all other areas of life.  Many people don't listen to other bloggers because they don't have the results or success to back it up.  However, I walk my talk.  I live everything that I teach.  I have the success financially – the passive income, sports car, penthouse, etc…  I have competed in two fitness competitions and have achieved success with my health and fitness.  I have an amazing relationship.  I have travelled the world.  I have coached hundreds of people.  I've spoken to thousands of people.  I've written books.  I've accomplished a lot, which gives me the expertise and authority to talk on many subjects.  This is just another way that I stand out.

What Is Your X-Factor?

So… what is your X-Factor? How do you (or can you) stand out from everyone else in your business? If you're in the Kindle publishing space, then ask yourself “How can I make my Kindle book stand out from everyone else?”

If you're selling a physical product on Amazon, then ask “How can I make my product stand out from everyone else?” The same goes for a blog, website, or ANY type of business out there. It doesn't have to be big.  It can be the small things that make you different.

What about a better cover or product image than everyone else? What about a better headline, title or benefit/feature that nobody else has? What about having more reviews or testimonials or success stories?

Again, think about and write down as many things as possible. Then start implementing.

Please leave a comment below or let me know any questions you have.  I'd love to hear what you think!

You Can't Do Things On Your Own

You just can't.  You need someone to help you.  You need someone to guide you and to show you the way.  You need a PROVEN plan, a strategy if you will.  I don't care if it's a coach, mentor, a step-by-step program or course, or even a really great book.  The bottom line is that you don't want to attempt to do things on your own.

Most people make the mistake of trying to do things on their own, which is honestly, quite stupid.  Why try to re-invent the wheel?  Yes, there is almost everything for free out there already on the internet.  There are message boards and forums that you can go to and try to put all of the pieces of the puzzle together on your own.  But why would you do that?  Do you know how LONG it will take you to achieve your goals by doing that?

I did this for the first few years when I was trying to achieve success, and it ended up being a very painful and stressful time.  I was pulled in so many directions and was all over the map.  I was receiving conflicted information, from random people online that most likely weren't successful in any way (because the really successful people are too busy to be spending much time in online message boards).

Commit To The Program And Ignore Everything Else

Let's say you want to lose 20 pounds.  All you have to do is find a coach, mentor, program, or book that can help you get there and do it.  There's so many out there, PICK ONE.  If you want a good book, follow Body For Life.  I could give you so many more, but that book will give you a simple strategy and now all you have to do is FOLLOW IT.  Just commit to it for 3-6 months and don't look at ANY OTHER BOOKS or any other courses or products or coaches.  Just follow what it says, and re-read it again and again.  That's it.  If you do that, you will lose the 20 pounds.

If you want to make money online, just pick a COURSE out there and follow it.  Follow it for 3-6 months and forget everything else out there.  If you choose Kindle publishing, then forget every other newsletter or information that comes your way that isn't related to that.  Unsubscribe from whomever is e-mailing you advice on any other method or strategy out there, it will only distract you.  You just need to FOCUS on that one program during that time and NOT GET DISTRACTED.

ignoring distractions

Of course, there is more benefit you can receive from working with a coach or mentor, as they can help KEEP YOU FOCUSED and hold you accountable and answer questions for you that might not be answered in the course or book.  If you wanted to lose 20 pounds, if you worked with Bill Phillips 1-on-1 (the author of Body Of Life), then you obviously have a much higher chance of success than if you only had the book.  The biggest reason why people fail is they get discouraged too quickly, are lazy, and give up.

Most people need someone to HOLD THEIR HAND and walk them through the process.  Instead of just having a “map” to their destination, they'd rather have a “guide” that walks the path with them.  If you're the type of person that is lazy and can't remain consistent with something, then you definitely need a coach or a mentor over a book or course.  A coach is also going to TELL YOU what your patterns are and show you what your blocks and limitations are, that are why you are lazy and unable to follow through.  This awareness alone and pushing you to change it is powerful.

Why Aren't You Already Doing This?

I know, I know… I can hear all of that reasons and excuses already.

“But Stefan, I can't afford a coach or to take a course…”

You can't afford NOT to have a coach or to take a course.  If you aren't willing to invest a bit of money into yourself, then I don't know what to tell you.  I can't help someone if they aren't willing to help themselves.  If this is the case for you, then you simply don't want it bad enough.  You can't just “want” to achieve your goal or “want” to be successful at something – you must be COMMITTED to it.  Committed means you'll do whatever it takes.

I hired coaches when I had zero money.  I was in credit card debt, and I still did it because I DID NOT WANT TO CONTINUE TO BE IN DEBT.  It's counter-intuitive, I know, but it was an investment in myself that GOT ME OUT OF DEBT and has made me a lot of money today.

I was resourceful in many cases, too.  One time I wanted to attend a seminar in New York, which I couldn't afford.  What did I do?  I got a few friends together and we put on a car wash at a local mechanic shop and held up signs that said “Fundraiser Car Wash: By Donation”.  We washed cars all day and I told people when they pulled up, “Hey, my name is Stefan and I am holding this car wash so that I can attend this seminar and change my life.  I want to do this so that I can be the best I can be and be a better person to help change the world.”

The result?  People donated $10, $20, and even up to $50.  I ended up making $900 in a day and that paid for my flight and tuition for the seminar.

I've done many things like this.  I've sold cigars to friends and family and asked for their support to help me.  I bought the cigars for $5 and would sell the pack for $20.  I even put on a “poker night” and invited my friends out, and half the pot went to the fundraiser.

Do you see now how much of an EXCUSE it is when someone says “I don't have the money or can't afford it.”

What you're really saying is, “I AM NOT COMMITTED ENOUGH TO THIS AND WOULD ONLY LIKE TO HAVE IT HAPPEN IF IT IS CONVENIENT AND EASY AND FALLS IN MY LAP.”  That's the translation.

If you need to make $50 or $100 to pay for a course and can't afford it, then BORROW IT.  Or better yet, go to your local temp agency and work on your next Saturday and Sunday.  Ask for a few extra hours at your job.  Work overtime.  Get another part-time job.  Get a paper route… I don't care!

The consequences of you NOT investing in yourself and getting a proven plan is just too great.  Do you want to continue to struggle?  Do you want to continue to be broke?  Do you want to continue to be out of shape?  You're in control and you have the power to change it, if you follow this advice.

This is the advice that I follow and everyone that is successful that I know of follows as well.  I don't know of any easier or faster way.  This is just what WORKS.  If you aren't willing to follow this advice, then I don't know what else to say to you…  I guess you'll just remain where you're at in life.  If you're okay with staying where you're at, then disregard this advice, it will be useless to you.

how to find expert adviceFinding experts, mentors and coaches has been a vital part of my success.  I initially started through reading books, eventually attending seminars, and then working with mentors one-on-one.  Everything that I know and teach today has been the result of what I've learned from someone else.  Through finding expert advice and working with the guru's, I've been able to fast-track my success and results.

I was recently asked by a follower of PLM about how to find expert advice and mentors.  In the world of the internet, it's easier than ever to connect and reach out to almost everyone out there.  There's dozens of experts and guru's in every field, but how do you know if they're credible?  How do you find them and reach out to these people?  Check out the video blog below to find out.

How To Find A Expert, Mentor Or Guru

how to find a mentorWith the internet it can be extremely easy to find a expert, mentor or guru on a specific topic.  You can not only easily find them, but you can also reach out to them and communicate with ease.  There are now resources such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn that make almost everyone accessible.  Almost every expert or guru has their own blog or website, either advertising their services or themselves.  In my opinion, communicating with these people is as simple as taking the step to do so!

Using Social Media

Whenever I read a book or attend a seminar, I always make an effort to reach out to the author or speaker.  I enjoy looking these people up online and either liking their Facebook page, adding them as a friend, following them on Twitter, or contacting them on LinkedIn.  I always want to surround myself with success and high level people and social media is the easiest way.  I know there may be a time, sometime in the future, where there may be potential to work with this person or I might need their expertise.  By following them through social media, it makes it easy to reach out when that time comes.

I personally have people message me daily and add me to Facebook all the time.  Most are people that have watched my videos on YouTube or follow my blog in some way.  People ask me for advice ALL THE TIME… and I've had plenty of people request coaching or mentorship.  I always make sure that I respond to e-mails and provide the best advice I can to people, which goes to show exactly how easy it can be to reach out to someone.

Some people are easier to reach out to than others, but for the most part, experts are LOOKING to interact with their potential customers and followers.  They WANT to build a relationship with you, and they WANT to help you.

Using Search Engines To Find Experts

Google, Yahoo and Bing are all fantastic for finding experts and mentors.  You can just search for whatever keywords you want and find someone on whatever topic you want.  If you're looking for health or fitness advice, search for it.  There will be millions of websites that show up of people offering health and fitness advice.  These experts are usually very transparent about their services, what they offer, their results, etc…  You can see whether or not they are the “real deal” or if it's just a bunch of B.S.

Websites To Find Experts

There are many websites you can visit to find experts in different fields, such as FindAnExpertOnline.com.  I personally enjoy using message boards and forums as a way to get expert advice and reach out to people.  A online marketing forum that I'm apart of is called Warrior Forum, where you can discuss online business strategies and get your questions answered.  I've even found a coach that I've worked with through it.  I've also met high level people through Meetup.com, where you can attend meetup events and meet experts in different fields.

How To Know If They Are Credible

In the world of the internet, it's easy for someone to be full of crap.  You need to find out if someone is credible or not.  If someone is offering a product online, and you're unsure if it's a scam or not, I recommend for people to do their due diligence and try to learn more about the product or expert.  You can simply search up the product online and see what people are saying about it in the message boards.  The good news is that nearly all products online offer money-back guarantees, so it's extremely easy to test-drive things.  I personally use Clickbank to sell many of my products and I'm required to offer a 60-day money back guarantee.  It's easy for people to get their money back if they're unhappy with something, and Clickbank handles all of that.  This makes investing in a guru or expert very low-risk.

Apply What They Teach

The best way to find out if the person is credible or is offering good advice is to apply what they teach.  This is the only way to know if it's right for you.  Most experts offer free advice online which you can easily go through and apply to your own life.  If it works, great, then it might be worthwhile to follow more of what this person is teaching.  If not, then move on.

I personally started learning about Tony Robbins online years ago and it wasn't until I started applying what he was teaching to my life that I really became a fan.  The same goes with other mentors that I follow.  The more results I get from applying what the person teaches, the more associated I become to that guru.

Surround Yourself With Success

Finding experts, mentors and coaches is worth it.  In my opinion, you are short-changing yourself if you're not actively looking for and working with experts.  In my video blog The 7 Reasons Why You Need A Life Coach I talk about how I've cut off years of learning and fast-tracked my results with business, fitness, dating, and every other area of my life.  I'm personally apart of mastermind groups of successful people, where I can easily get any question answered or receive support on any problem I'm facing.  It's invaluable to have a network like that.

It all starts with reaching out to people and building relationships.  You have to be proactive.  Your net worth is your network!
