Today I would like to walk you through my morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity. This routine allows me to optimize my body, mind, and spirit so that I can perform at my best, every day.

I’m a big believer in the power of rituals. I’ve been doing them since I was 17 years old. I used to struggle with shyness, social anxiety, and depression.

By creating a morning ritual, I was able to recondition my beliefs and transform every area of my life.

The morning is the best time to condition your mindset. Research shows that your mood in the morning affects your productivity all day.

Are you ready to wake up every day, feeling more productive, energized, and happier? My morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity will allow you to make that happen.

Discipline is one of greatest barriers that prevent people from achieving success in life. If you want to build habits that stick, you need to be consistent with them. In the words of Tony Robbins says, “The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”

How you start the day is how you end the day. If you only engage in a habit once in a while, it won’t stick. It’s what you do consistently that makes the difference.

How do you start your mornings?

If you wake up in a reactive state, you will move throughout your entire day feeling stressed and anxious. A lot of people believe that they need a triple espresso as soon as they get out of bed. This way of thinking is counterintuitive.

My morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity provides me with a natural ‘buzz.' It makes me feel unstoppable, without the negative effects that come from over-use of stimulants.

Do you wake up every morning, feeling tired and sluggish, even though you slept for 8 hours? If so, it’s time to start a morning ritual.

If you want to maximize your productivity, you need to spend the first part of your morning taking care of YOU. If you make your job, your partner, or your friends a priority, then you need to commit to making yourself a priority as well.

Just like you train your body at the gym, you need to train your brain every day. I treat myself as if I am a high-performance athlete. I know that if I want to get the most out of myself, I have to create rituals that will allow me to do just that.

In order to make sure that I successfully complete my morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity, I create a list and check-off each activity, as I complete it.

The purpose of a checklist is so that I can visually measure my progress as time goes on. If you don’t have a plan for your life and you just move throughout your day aimlessly, then you’re not going to get the most out of it.

Here is my morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity:

1. Smile

The first thing that I do the moment that I wake up is smile. When you start your day with gratitude, it shifts your entire perspective. Every day that you are alive is a gift, and you need to treat it as such. Don’t ever take your life for granted.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t feel happy and positive 100% every morning, but by training myself to smile and start the day in an empowering way, I am setting myself up for success.

Research shows that when you smile, neurochemicals and peptides are released, which tricks your body into raising your dopamine; which in turn raises your spirits and calms your nervous system.

2. Drink Water

After you’ve been sleeping for 7-8 hours your body is dehydrated, and your cells crave water. I’ve got a water ionizer that I use which produces high quality, 9.5 alkaline water.

By drinking water first thing in the morning, you kick-start your metabolism, which will give you immediate energy and flush out toxins from your body.

3. Take Supplements

I start off by taking a shot of apple cider vinegar, which is a great bacteria killer. Then, on an empty stomach, I take a digestive enzyme supplement called, Masszymes. I also take a variety of other supplements, like B12 and Vitamin D3.

Supplements like these ensure that I have energy throughout the day, so that I never have to rely on caffeine or sugar. More importantly, engaging in this body ritual ensures that I will experience optimal health and performance, over the long-term.

4. Read A Book

I spend at least 10 minutes every morning reading an inspiring book on my Kindle reader. Don’t start your day by obsessing over social media, or reading negative things on the news. Instead, try feeding your mind with positive information and commit to learning something new.

5. Write in my Journals

After reading a book, I like to write in my Five Minute Journal, a simple exercise that allows me to focus on what is most important for me to accomplish throughout my day.

I also write in my Productivity Planner, which offers a similar process. I write down what my most important task for the day is, what my secondary tasks of importance are, and then determine what my daily productivity score is.

For those of you who are spiritual, I also write in my Christian gratitude journal.

6. Lie Down On My PEMF Mat

A PEMF mat is a portable mat that produces pulsed electromagnetic fields around an individual’s body. I lie on this mat every morning and do my meditation.

The health benefits of PEMF are amazing, some of which include regenerating nerves, reducing stress and fatigue, and eliminating bodily toxins.

I hope you enjoyed learning about my morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity! If you want the more in-depth version, that covers all of my rituals, then join my 7-day course, Morning Ritual Mastery.

Rituals have been the secret to my success, and have allowed me to become the person that I am today. Invest in yourself. Your body, mind, and spirit deserve it.

Do You Work ON Or IN Your Business? https://projectlifemastery.com/work-on-your-business/ https://projectlifemastery.com/work-on-your-business/#respond Mon, 25 Sep 2017 14:03:08 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6823 Long-term business growth requires that you work on your business. Do you work ON or IN your business? If it's the latter, it's time to make a shift. If you want to grow your business and sustain it, long-term, it is imperative that you work smart, not hard.

A lot of entrepreneurs adopt the mindset that they can do most things in their business better than anyone else. This may be true, but you can't do it all, nor should you.

When you work ON your business, you adopt the role of a “doer”, managing all of the daily operations that come with running a business.

In the words of Robert Kiyosaki, “If you're not working to get your business to operate without you, you're thinking too small.”

Hester Taylor Clark, the founder of The Hester Group, likens managing a business to parenting. It's about having the awareness of when your child or your business has grown enough to be given freedom. Do you work ON or IN your business? Here are three strategies that you can employ to ensure that your business continues to grow:

1. Get Out Of Your Own Way

If you want to run a successful business you need to focus on your strengths. Doing so allows you to be “in the flow“, a place where you are fully engaged and working at your best. Great leaders have an awareness of their weaknesses and delegate accordingly. Yes, nobody knows your business as you do, but it's not about you. It's about your business!

If you are spending copious amounts of time focusing on tasks that take up your time and mental capacity, this means that you aren't growing your business. Drop your ego, work smart, and get help.

2. Hire The Right People

As the leader of your business, you are responsible for finding a talented team of people who can free up your time so that you can work ON your business. What are you currently doing that could be better delegated to someone on your team? Don't engage in anything that is not the best use of your time or skills.

I have a strong leadership team behind me that I trust and respect. When you hire the right people, it allows you to stop wearing so many hats so that you can focus on what matters most to your business success.

3. Create Systems and Procedures

In order to ensure that your business operations run smoothly, make sure that your business is dependent on systems and procedures, rather than people. Utilize tools that will help improve the efficiency of your business processes.

This is the best way to ensure that your team is able to job their job well, and actually accomplish the goals that they set out to achieve. Once you have a winning team of people in your corner, you also want to share your goal(s), strategy and the vision for your business with them.

Every 90 days, my team and I engage in a game-changing business ritual, that not only ensures that our business keeps growing – but it also allows me to focus on tasks that I excel at, and that is of value to my business. Do this every 90 days, and watch your business transform.

Every entrepreneur wants to grow their business, but oftentimes they get stuck because they are too busy trying to do everything. If you want to achieve success, you need to get out of your own way and adopt the role of a leader, so that you can focus solely on tasks that promote the long-term growth of your business.

Do you work ON or IN your business? One path leads to business mastery. I'll let you be the judge.

3 Ways To Find Your Flow In Life https://projectlifemastery.com/find-your-flow/ https://projectlifemastery.com/find-your-flow/#respond Tue, 19 Sep 2017 14:00:02 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6794 Flow is a mental state of complete absorption in one's current experience. The post 3 Ways To Find Your Flow In Life appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

]]>

I would like to share with you 3 ways to find your flow in life. Can you remember a moment in your life when you experienced effortless focus while doing something that you loved, that time seemed to fade away?

Positive psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi describes this as flow, a mental state of complete absorption in one's current experience. In this state, you feel productive, happy, and 100% focused on the task at hand.

Oftentimes this experience is short-lived, but imagine how good it would feel if you could harness this feeling whenever your heart desired.

In the words of Csikszentmihalyi himself, “The flow experience has the potential to make life more rich, intense, and meaningful; it is good because it increases the strengths and complexity of the self.”

The question is, “How do you achieve this flow state?” It's a lot easier than you think. Are you ready to learn 3 ways to find your flow in life?

Do you want to learn how you can master every area of your life? CLICK HERE to join my Life Mastery Accelerator program!

Activities that lead to a flow experience are called autotelic (from Greek: auto=self, telos=goal), because they are intrinsically motivated and gratifying. They also have an end in themselves, rather than in some other end product.

Finding your flow is about losing yourself in tasks that you are passionate about. It allows you to experience enjoyment in the progress of doing something challenging, yet rewarding.

Let's explore 3 ways to find your flow in life:

1. Calm Your Mental Chatter

Mental chatter is the inner noise that plays out in our brains every day. Before you attempt to go into a flow state, ask yourself what is going on in your mind that will prevent you from fully immersing yourself in a task.

A great way to do this is through meditation. Consciously bring attention to your thoughts, without engaging with them. Doing so will allow you to become more aware of the conditions that allow you to enter into a calm state of mind so that the experience of flow occurs naturally.

2. Find Your Zone Of Focus

We all know how discouraging it can feel to sit down, with the intention of immersing ourselves in one task, only to jump onto the next thing.

Research shows that multitasking actually drains the energy reserves of your brain. If you want to find your flow, you need train your mind to become fully immersed in one task.

Turn off all distractions until you've done nothing but the thing you set out to accomplish, for at least 20 minutes. Once you hit that point, you will tap into your flow state.

3. Do Work That You Love

If you aren't passionate about the work that you do, you will have a difficult time losing yourself in it. The best way to find your flow is to find what it is that makes you come alive inside. Invest time and effort into it, and don't settle for less.

Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, said it best: “If you’re into kite-surfing and you want to become an entrepreneur, do it with kite-surfing.”

A growing body of scientific evidence indicates that flow is highly correlated with happiness, both subjective and psychological well-being. When you utilize your talents at work and accomplish challenging goals that are meaningful to you, the outcome is full alignment with your passion and purpose in life.

These are 3 ways to find your flow in life. Knowledge about flow is great, but it's not enough. It will do nothing for you unless you take action and find ways to implement more flow into your life.

Make the effort to find that state of effortless concentration and enjoyment that makes life worth living.

The Myth Of Multitasking https://projectlifemastery.com/the-myth-of-multitasking/ https://projectlifemastery.com/the-myth-of-multitasking/#comments Thu, 14 Sep 2017 14:00:04 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6756 People think that multitasking is the recipe for success. Think again. Do you want to know what the myth of multitasking is? Click here to learn more!

The post The Myth Of Multitasking appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

]]>

I would like to talk about the myth of multitasking. In today’s fast-paced world, people have convinced themselves that multitasking is the sure-fire way to accomplish their goals and achieve success.

Think again.

A recent article published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) by three Stanford University researchers have proven that ‘doing it all' gets nothing done.

In their study, they found that those who rated themselves as chronic multitaskers made more mistakes, could remember fewer items, and took longer to complete a variety of focusing tasks than those self-rated as infrequent multitaskers.

If you can relate to these findings, it may be time to re-think your habits. The reality is that multitasking is simply a way to make overly stressed-out people feel as if they are being hyper-productive. Multitasking is actually slowing you down.

Are you ready to learn some tips for how you can more effectively manage tasks and maximize your productivity?

Do you want to learn how to create a morning ritual that will help you be more productive, healthier, and happier? CLICK HERE to join my Morning Ritual Mastery program!

In his best-selling book, Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less, Greg McKeown explains how the meaning of the word “priority” has shifted over time – “The word priority came into the English language in the 1400s. It was singular. It meant the very first or prior thing…Only in the 1900s did we pluralize the term and start talking about priorities. Illogically, we reasoned that by changing the word we could bend reality.”

Multitasking can be a challenging habit to break. However, with commitment and practice, anything is possible. The result? Healthier thought patterns, improved cognitive functioning, and higher productivity levels. It’s a win-win. Here are 4 tips that will help you focus on your most important tasks of the day, and be more productive as a result:

1. Focus On One Task At A Time

The solution to multitasking is single-tasking. Instead of spreading out all of your mental energy on multiple tasks, focus 100% of your attention on mastering one task.

This involves adopting a more minimalist way of thinking. Learn how to slow down and be more deliberate and thoughtful with your actions. Doing so will allow you to move throughout your day with greater ease and accomplishment.

When asked about how focusing on one thing at a time helped Apple become more effective at delivering innovative products consistently, Steve Jobs, Co-founder of Apple said, “People think focus means saying yes to the thing you've got to focus on. But that's not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully.”

2. Use A Notebook

When it comes to productivity, I suggest using a tool like the Productivity Planner, which is designed to help you accomplish your most important tasks so that you don’t feel overwhelmed throughout your day.

The Productivity Planner uses a Pomodoro Technique, which is a time management method that uses a timer to break down work into intervals (25-minutes in length), separated by short breaks. This simple tool has allowed me to narrow down the most important tasks of my day so that I feel more organized and get more done in the process.

3. Tune Out Distractions

When it comes to accomplishing tasks, the Internet has become the ultimate distraction. Do whatever it takes to eliminate all distractions when you work, whether that means turning off your phone, putting in earplugs, or logging out of social media. In 2010, researchers estimated that distracted workers were costing businesses $650 billion per year and that interruptions can take up as much as 6 hours of our day.

If you are able to give your full attention to a task at hand, you will maximize the accuracy and speed with which you accomplish it. Mastery requires consistency, commitment, and focus. In the end, if you commit to nothing, everything will appear as if it’s a distraction.

4. Start Your Day With A Morning Ritual

I am a firm believer that the best way to achieve more during your day is by adopting a morning ritual. By establishing a routine in the morning, you train your mind to focus on doing one thing at a time.

A morning ritual is the quickest way to prime your brain for success. Take some time every morning to nurture yourself. This simple activity has transformed my entire life and it can do the same for you.

The myth of multitasking is a real thing. When you jump from task to task, you overload your brain, making it less efficient and more prone to errors. Take back your time by slowing down and focusing on one task at a time. It may feel as if you are going slower, but you are actually making more progress in the long run.

Take it from Sir Richard Cecil, who said, “The shortest ways to do many things is to do only one thing at a time.”

Here's how to focus on and enjoy the process of success.

Do you ever get so attached to something that it gets to the point where your desire to succeed becomes so overwhelming that it causes you to give up altogether? If so, you aren’t alone.

Many of us become so attached to the results that we desire, that we don’t learn how to focus on and enjoy the process of success.

Don’t get me wrong. Setting goals is great. However, setting goals and working towards the accomplishment of them are very different things. Do you measure your success by the outcome or by the process?

If it’s the former, you need to rethink your strategy.

In today’s digital world, our brains are in overdrive because we are constantly inundated with new information. It’s difficult to focus on and enjoy the process of success when we are experiencing information overload and trying to accomplish multiple tasks at once.

Are you reading this blog while responding to an email and making breakfast? If so, it’s time to slow down. Why? Research shows that multitasking is actually detrimental to cognitive performance, which has been referred to as “info-mania.” When it comes to doing a task properly, concentrate on one thing at a time. It's good for your brain, and it's better than multitasking.

The second challenge that people face is what to do with all of the information that they are given. In order to make any decision in life, you need to take action. When you are too focused on the end goal, it’s easier to become distracted by all of the steps that you need to take in order to get there.

Distractions prevent us from being productive and give us an excuse to dabble. As a result, no goal is ever achieved. Do you jump ship when things get tough? If so, your lack of patience, distractions, and “Shiny Object Syndrome” is killing your results.

You Need To Learn How To Focus And Enjoy The Process Of Success.

A great strategy for doing this is to learn things on a deeper level, and do it, multiple times. As I always say, repetition is the mother of mastery. For example, I will read the same book multiple times, or I will attend the same seminars again and again, in order to absorb the knowledge on a deeper level. Why? Because I want to master what I learn from an experience before I focus on something new.

Success is due, in part, to your ability to master boring and repetitive things in life. This is how we create habits that we desire. I do the same boring things, every day. But over time, they produce massive results. Another great strategy for enjoying the process is to do what you love. For myself, this has been through the process of creating inspiring content online, based on topics that I am passionate about.

The act of adding value and being of service to others means more to me than any amount of money that comes from it. As a result of simply helping people, I have been able to create a large following of subscribers who benefit from my work. I know that if I continue to add massive value, the money will come from that process alone.

Learn how to focus on and enjoy the process of success. This is where the magic lies. In the words of Eric Thomas, “Fall in love with the process, and the results will come.”

3 Benefits Of Minimalism That Extend To All Areas of Life https://projectlifemastery.com/benefits-of-minimalism/ https://projectlifemastery.com/benefits-of-minimalism/#comments Tue, 12 Sep 2017 14:00:04 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6742 Minimalism is a way of life rooted in simplicity. The post 3 Benefits Of Minimalism That Extend To All Areas of Life appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

]]>

I would like to share 3 benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life. Through life's ups and downs, it is important that we remember to take the time to enjoy the simple things in life. We need to be grateful for what we have, and focus on finding meaning in our lives.

Life is meant to be enjoyed, not filled with stress and frustration. Minimalism is a state of being, a simple approach to life, that can help us do more with less.  In the words of Vernon Howard, “You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.”

That is why I wanted to invite Will Chou, the founder of Will You Laugh, a self-development blog that focuses on the secrets to success, to write a guest post to talk about 3 benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life.

Take it away, Will!

When I first discovered minimalism, I was a mess of a person and I thought it was stupid. But everything has changed now.  To explain my change of opinion, we have to go back to the beginning. When I first discovered minimalism, I really wanted to travel the world for a living.

At the time, I was disillusioned with my career paths and confused about my future. I was struggling to find work I could enjoy and the job opportunities that I was offered, sucked. To put it simply, like many Millennials, I had chosen a tough college major that I loved (pre-med Biology) but realized too late that it wasn’t my passion (after graduation).

My days of despair led me to seek escapism on the Internet. I discovered a large group of online bloggers that had a huge following and who called themselves, “travel hackers.”

Essentially, they would travel to exotic places for a living and make their living by “hacking life.” They were able to achieve a level of financial freedom that most people would envy. At first, I wasn't sold on this whole idea of minimalism, but that soon changed. Today, I want to share with you the three benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life:

1. You Will Stay Organized and Clean

I had always been a messy person. Despite my best efforts to stay clean, my room would quickly morph into a mess of junk. To put it simply, the more items you have, the more opportunity it is for it to make you feel and appear messy.

When you only have a couple of items on your desk, it’s never going to look that messy no matter how long you delay cleaning it up. It’s shocking how few people understand or use this habit. Nowadays, I have applied this minimalist philosophy to every area of my life.

2. You Will Achieve More By Working Less

A lot of people make the mistake of approaching their daily to-do list with a reactive state of mind. They take on too many tasks on a daily basis, many of which are unimportant. When they look back at what they have accomplished, they are surprised by their lack of progress.

A solution is a form of minimalism called essentialism. The concept is simple. Focus on one to three tasks per day. Make sure they are the most important tasks that will make the biggest impact on the accomplishment of your goals. If you do this right, you will realize that you’re doing less work but getting more results by prioritizing and cutting out the unnecessary.

3. You Feel Happier and Less Stressed

Not so long ago, I was frustrated with my progress, both professionally and personally. I didn’t have quality friends, I wasn't earning much, and I was lost and without direction in my dating life.

It was confusing because I had always worked super hard in school and “done the right things.” After doing a lot of research on success, happy people, and the science of happiness, I came up with a simple mantra that has helped me a lot. It goes something like, “As long as I have air, water, food, a healthy mind, and a healthy body, I am happy.”

This mantra reminds me to lead a simple, happy life. By living this philosophy, I have become a much happier, more relaxed, and lighter person.

I Am Not A Minimalist And I Don’t Want You To Be.

Wait, what? After all, I have said, I’m now revealing that I’m not a minimalist, I don’t intend to be one. Why? I can't say that I would be happy with living a lifestyle of extreme minimalism, and that’s OK. What I love about some minimalist influencers out there is that they’re not telling you to become a minimalist.

Rather, they are encouraging that you adopt the minimalist practices that work for you. That’s where I stand. I will be rich one day and I will buy expensive experiences, but the items and services I do buy will be fewer than the average person, and they will be focused on memorable experiences, rather than a desire to hold onto possession.

It’s important not to swing from one extreme perspective (“Everything you buy has value so you should hoard it.”) to the other (“Nothing has value so get rid of it all.”). The truth lies closer to the middle.

Will has spent thousands of hours studying the world's most successful people and shares his findings on his self-development blog, Will You Laugh. Get his free gift made especially for Project Life Mastery readers by CLICKING HERE!

Below are 3 ways for how to stay focused and productive, without getting overwhelmed or stressed:

1. Accomplish More By Doing Less

People get overwhelmed when they commit to too many things. The brain becomes frazzled and people lose focus when they feel that they have too much to do and too little time to do it.

According to psychologist Daniel Kahneman, “It is the mark of effortful activities that they interfere with each other, which is why it is difficult or impossible to conduct several at once.

Multitasking isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. It doesn’t allow you to be more productive. Rather, it creates stress. The key to not getting overwhelmed and stressed is to work smart, not hard, which means narrowing your focus on the few things that matter the most.

Every day I ask myself, “What are the 3 highest leverage actions that I need to take in order to achieve success?” When you master those 3 things, you will find the motivation to do and achieve more.

2. Outsource Tasks

When you run a business, it can be tempting to do everything yourself. Nobody knows your business more than you, right? This way of thinking is what gets people into trouble.  The reality is that financial success occurs when you work ON your business, not IN your business.

Outsourcing some of your most simple business tasks can save you a lot of time and energy. More importantly, it will free up your time so that you can focus on what is most important and be more productive.

Make a list of everything that you are currently doing and ask yourself on a scale of 1-10 how important that task is. Then determine what you can outsource. In the words of Peter Drucker, “Do what you do best, and outsource the rest.”

3. Calm Your Mind

Meditation is one of the most effective ways to cope with stress and increase your ability to concentrate. A new study in the Journal of Neuroscience found that people who regularly practice meditation may improve their mental focus by altering brain function.

Meditation isn’t about emptying your mind. Rather, it’s about conditioning the mind to focus on one thing. It’s natural for the mind to wander, but if you commit to doing it every day, you will see a massive shift in your ability to focus on tasks over time.

In the words of Deepak Chopra, “Meditation is not a way of making your mind quiet; it’s a way of entering into the quiet that is already there, buried under the 50,000 thoughts that the average person thinks every day.”

These are just a few ways of how to stay focused and productive, without getting overwhelmed or stressed. Are you ready to get back to a life of flow and ease? You don't have to live in a state of overwhelm. A worry-free life is yours for the taking. The choice is yours!
