The #1 characteristic of successful entrepreneurs is resourcefulness.

In today's business world, there is not a more important characteristic to possess. Entrepreneurs have to adopt an attitude of resourcefulness if they want to achieve success, especially during the beginning stages of growing their businesses.

The harsh reality is that 9 out of 10 startups will fail. These statistics aren't meant to discourage you. Rather, they are meant to educate and motivate you! There are many reasons for why businesses flounder. However, one reason is that a lot of entrepreneurs don't realize how many moving parts are involved in running a business.

The ability to be resourceful is what helps entrepreneurs navigate the highs and lows of the entrepreneurial ride. Resourcefulness is a mindset. The more that you can develop it, the greater the likelihood that you will achieve success.

In the words of Tony Robbins, “Resourcefulness is the ultimate resource.” Do you think that you are resourceful enough to achieve your business goals? If not, now is the time to educate yourself and master the #1 characteristic of successful entrepreneurs!

In his book, Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success, Coach Wooden defined resourcefulness as, “using our wits, proper judgment, and common sense to solve problems and meet challenges. It is using initiative in difficult situations and involves inventing, creating, imagining, synthesizing, evaluating, classifying, observing and analyzing solutions to overcome the trials that life throws at us.”

Becoming a successful entrepreneur is a journey. You need to learn how to enjoy the process or else you won't get far. In the beginning stages, you can expect that your workdays will spill over into your weekends, your resources will be limited, you will make mistakes, and you will need to juggle a myriad of tasks.

Some days it will feel like you just can't get through your to-do list, and you probably won't. Finding a way to get things done, when all signs point in the opposite direction, is a skill that makes for an effective entrepreneur. When it comes to achieving business success, the determining factor is YOU.

It's your ability to effectively manage your emotional state, take advantages of opportunities when they arise and solve problems that stand in your way of success. In my opinion, when you have resourcefulness, you can overcome anything.

The billion dollar question is, “How do we develop the #1 characteristic of successful entrepreneurs?”

There are many different ways that you can develop the skill of resourcefulness. However, I would like to share 5 ways that have helped me become more resourceful in my business.

1. Work Smart, Not Hard

As an entrepreneur, you need to learn how to leverage your time effectively. In any business, you will encounter a million different activities that you need to do. However, you need to identify which of those activities will generate the most money for your business or make the most impact. The 80/20 principle states that 20% of what you do produces 80% of your results.

In his book, The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results, Gary Keller states that the best way to avoid distractions, prioritize work and stay focused, is by focusing on the “one thing” that matters most to your business success.

When I started my online business I was doing EVERYTHING. When resources are limited, sometimes you need to juggle a million different hats. However, if you continue to play every single position on the team, so to speak, then you won't be able to master and accelerate the one core position.

I decided that I was going to focus all of my efforts on content creation because I knew that it was what I was best at in my business. More importantly, it was something that only I can do. I knew that if I could hire other people to do things, like my social media marketing, SEO, and bookkeeping, then I could master my core strength.

Figure out what you can outsource and delegate in your business so that you can work on your business, not in it. This is how to become the online entrepreneur of the future.

2. Adopt A Growth Mindset

In today's ever-changing world, entrepreneurs need to be constantly growing and evolving. It comes down to adopting a growth mindset. These types of people come from the belief that their intelligence can be developed through hard work.

The secret to business success is committing to waking up every day and learning something new. It's about being ready and willing to learn in different ways, based on the resources that are available to you. Let me share a personal story with you that best reflects this mindset.

My brother, Andreas worked in my Dad's family business for years. When he left, he ended up getting himself into a ton of debt. In order to make back the money, he got into construction. He was so good at it that he decided to pursue his own renovation business. Eventually, he became a multi-millionaire.

However, this wasn't something he was passionate about, long-term. He saw the success that I had achieved and he had a desire to build an online business. I coached him and he went on to succeed faster than anyone that I've seen. In 4-5 months he was making $5-6,000.

Today, he makes up to $80,000 per month. He has a coaching company, a Kindle publishing company, and continues to create new businesses. I believe that a large part of his success has been due, in part, to his growth mindset.

He was already a very intelligent person, but his work ethic, commitment to continuous learning, and ability to transform problems into possibilities allowed him to go the extra mile. He is proof that when you have a mastery mindset and understand what the principles of success are, anything is possible.

3. Be Proactive

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you can't wait for the perfect moment to take action. Waiting will get you nowhere. Nobody is going to build your dreams for you. You need to wake up every day, be resourceful and take massive action, even when you don't feel like doing so.

Research has shown that a “proactive personality” predicts entrepreneurial success. If an opportunity arises that could potentially take your business to the next level, take it! Resourceful people aren't passive. They take advantage of anything that can help them to grow and expand themselves and their business.

When you encounter problems in your business, you can't take a backseat and expect the someone else will fix them for you. Get in the game, find solutions, and always focus more on what YOU can do to be successful, instead of what others can do for you.

When you play an active role in your business, not only will you feel more confident, but you will also get more things done. In the words of Kathy Hopkins, “Don't wait for your ship to come in. Swim out to it.”

4. Don't Give Up

If you want to be resourceful, you can't give up when things get tough. This is referred to as dabbling. Unfortunately, I see a lot of entrepreneurs fall into this trap. Dabblers love the initial rush and excitement of starting something new. However, when things get challenging in their business, they throw in the towel and give up because they don't know how to be resourceful.

Sure enough, they don't achieve success.

Alternatively, a master is resourceful. When they don't know how to do something, they seek out the help of others who can teach them how to implement the skills that they need to know. When they commit to doing something, they are all-in. They welcome new challenges because it provides them with opportunities to learn who they are.

Jeff Bezos explains that resourcefulness is critical for anyone pursuing a big dream because it’s inevitable that you will run into problems. He says, “As a lot of entrepreneurs know, the whole point of moving things forward is you run into problems, you run into failures, things don’t work. You have to back up and try again. Each one of those times that you have a setback and you back up and try again, you’re using resourcefulness. You’re trying to invent your way out of a box.”

There will be a lot of times in business when you will fail. I've failed thousands of times, and I plan on failing more in the future. It's all a part of the process of success. Failure is a good thing because it's proof that you are trying. If you stop trying before you even attempt to solve a problem, then how do you expect to accomplish anything?

As entrepreneurs, we all have a choice. We can view challenges as obstacles that hold us back, or we can use them to propel us forward to something bigger and better. Which path will you take?

5. Be Open-Minded

In today's world, change is the only constant. If you can't embrace uncertainty, then the business world is not for you. As an entrepreneur, being successful requires that you are open to new ways of thinking and behaving. If something isn't working in your business, you need to be resourceful and come up with a better solution.

Sometimes this means demonstrating a willingness to receive feedback and suggestions from other people. Looking at your business from different angles may provide a fresh perspective. If you fall into expert mode, it can get you into trouble. I always say that the three most dangerous words in the human vocabulary that hold people back from success in business are, “I know that.”

If you think that you know everything, then you close yourself off from learning altogether.

Dr. Victor Otatti is a professor of psychology at the Loyola University of Chicago and the study’s lead author. He said, “In our society, we tolerate more forceful and dogmatic expressions of opinion when the speaker is an expert than when the speaker is a novice. So, when the situation makes us feel like we are an ‘expert,’ it activates these role expectations in our mind, and we feel more entitled to dismiss, ignore, or disparage opinions and viewpoints that differ from our own opinion.”

A successful entrepreneur doesn't have an ego. He or she is comfortable existing in the unknown and modifying his or her business strategies if something better comes along. In the words of Mark Perrett, “If you don't go through life with an open mind, you will find a lot of closed doors.”

The #1 characteristic of successful entrepreneurs is resourcefulness.

If you can't find a way, you need to make a way. Drop the excuses, stories or beliefs that are holding you back and do whatever it takes to achieve success. When it comes to the business world, you need to be a gladiator because it will chew you up and spit you out if you aren't ready for it.

It takes grit, hard work, and determination to build a business. Only the strong succeed. Are you ready to strap on your armor and build the business of your dreams?

Today I would like to walk you through my morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity. This routine allows me to optimize my body, mind, and spirit so that I can perform at my best, every day.

I’m a big believer in the power of rituals. I’ve been doing them since I was 17 years old. I used to struggle with shyness, social anxiety, and depression.

By creating a morning ritual, I was able to recondition my beliefs and transform every area of my life.

The morning is the best time to condition your mindset. Research shows that your mood in the morning affects your productivity all day.

Are you ready to wake up every day, feeling more productive, energized, and happier? My morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity will allow you to make that happen.

Discipline is one of greatest barriers that prevent people from achieving success in life. If you want to build habits that stick, you need to be consistent with them. In the words of Tony Robbins says, “The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”

How you start the day is how you end the day. If you only engage in a habit once in a while, it won’t stick. It’s what you do consistently that makes the difference.

How do you start your mornings?

If you wake up in a reactive state, you will move throughout your entire day feeling stressed and anxious. A lot of people believe that they need a triple espresso as soon as they get out of bed. This way of thinking is counterintuitive.

My morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity provides me with a natural ‘buzz.' It makes me feel unstoppable, without the negative effects that come from over-use of stimulants.

Do you wake up every morning, feeling tired and sluggish, even though you slept for 8 hours? If so, it’s time to start a morning ritual.

If you want to maximize your productivity, you need to spend the first part of your morning taking care of YOU. If you make your job, your partner, or your friends a priority, then you need to commit to making yourself a priority as well.

Just like you train your body at the gym, you need to train your brain every day. I treat myself as if I am a high-performance athlete. I know that if I want to get the most out of myself, I have to create rituals that will allow me to do just that.

In order to make sure that I successfully complete my morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity, I create a list and check-off each activity, as I complete it.

The purpose of a checklist is so that I can visually measure my progress as time goes on. If you don’t have a plan for your life and you just move throughout your day aimlessly, then you’re not going to get the most out of it.

Here is my morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity:

1. Smile

The first thing that I do the moment that I wake up is smile. When you start your day with gratitude, it shifts your entire perspective. Every day that you are alive is a gift, and you need to treat it as such. Don’t ever take your life for granted.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t feel happy and positive 100% every morning, but by training myself to smile and start the day in an empowering way, I am setting myself up for success.

Research shows that when you smile, neurochemicals and peptides are released, which tricks your body into raising your dopamine; which in turn raises your spirits and calms your nervous system.

2. Drink Water

After you’ve been sleeping for 7-8 hours your body is dehydrated, and your cells crave water. I’ve got a water ionizer that I use which produces high quality, 9.5 alkaline water.

By drinking water first thing in the morning, you kick-start your metabolism, which will give you immediate energy and flush out toxins from your body.

3. Take Supplements

I start off by taking a shot of apple cider vinegar, which is a great bacteria killer. Then, on an empty stomach, I take a digestive enzyme supplement called, Masszymes. I also take a variety of other supplements, like B12 and Vitamin D3.

Supplements like these ensure that I have energy throughout the day, so that I never have to rely on caffeine or sugar. More importantly, engaging in this body ritual ensures that I will experience optimal health and performance, over the long-term.

4. Read A Book

I spend at least 10 minutes every morning reading an inspiring book on my Kindle reader. Don’t start your day by obsessing over social media, or reading negative things on the news. Instead, try feeding your mind with positive information and commit to learning something new.

5. Write in my Journals

After reading a book, I like to write in my Five Minute Journal, a simple exercise that allows me to focus on what is most important for me to accomplish throughout my day.

I also write in my Productivity Planner, which offers a similar process. I write down what my most important task for the day is, what my secondary tasks of importance are, and then determine what my daily productivity score is.

For those of you who are spiritual, I also write in my Christian gratitude journal.

6. Lie Down On My PEMF Mat

A PEMF mat is a portable mat that produces pulsed electromagnetic fields around an individual’s body. I lie on this mat every morning and do my meditation.

The health benefits of PEMF are amazing, some of which include regenerating nerves, reducing stress and fatigue, and eliminating bodily toxins.

I hope you enjoyed learning about my morning ritual for daily success, motivation and productivity! If you want the more in-depth version, that covers all of my rituals, then join my 7-day course, Morning Ritual Mastery.

Rituals have been the secret to my success, and have allowed me to become the person that I am today. Invest in yourself. Your body, mind, and spirit deserve it.

I would like to share with you how to detox mercury from the body. This information is based on my personal experience with mercury toxicity.

After months of research, reading books, and meeting with my naturopath, I am still going through the process of detoxing mercury from my body. All the knowledge that I have learned from these different sources has really empowered me to be proactive with my health.

Oftentimes, people don’t do anything about their health until it’s too late. Your health is your wealth. Be proactive, take action, and invest in it. Without health, you have nothing.

In the words of Josh Billings, “Health is like money. We never have a true idea of its value until we lose it.” Are you ready to take control of your health and learn how to detox mercury from the body?

If you have experienced mercury or lead toxicity, I want to share with you what I have learned thus far that has helped me in my detoxification journey.

A lot of people have mercury or lead toxicity in their bodies, but they have no idea. This blog post is also for you, as it will create awareness about this health issue.

I’m not a doctor. This is purely based on my own experience.

By all means, please do your own research and due diligence in order to get the best help that you need in order to get yourself back to optimal health and wellbeing.

One year ago, Tony Robbins, who many of you know is a big mentor of mine, publically shared that he was diagnosed with mercury toxicity. His story inspired me to get tested as well.

A few months ago I did an EDTA/DMPS chelating agent test. This process involved putting an IV into my vein, and the chelating agent went into my bloodstream, pulling out minerals and toxic metals that I had in my tissues.

I then collected my urine for 12-24 hours and sent it a lab for analysis, which then determined the levels of metals that were in my body.

I shared my heavy metal toxicity results online, because I wanted to spread awareness of the harmful effects of mercury toxicity. I was shocked by what I found. Immediately, I took action.

The question is, “How did I get heavy metal toxicity?” There are multiple reasons why this can happen. Sometimes you can get this because of genetics, fish, lead-based paints or construction sites, or from the mercury that is found in cavity fillings, otherwise known as, amalgam.

If you decide to remove your mercury amalgam fillings, it is so important that you follow a safe protocol. Do your research and find a dentist that is trained in this procedure. I recommend that you read Andy Cutler’s book, Amalgam Illness, Diagnosis and Treatment : What You Can Do to Get Better, How Your Doctor Can Help, in order to learn more about the effects of amalgam on the body.

My naturopath recommended that I do more IV chelation therapy, but I wanted to do more research, because I read that there can be negative side effects with this form of therapy.

I found a website called, DMPS Backfire, where people share information regarding DMPS, and the adverse effects that the drug has on the physiology of the body. The information was shocking, but informative, especially for those who have been advised by their doctors to do IV chelation therapy.

After some more research, I came across a man named, Andy Cutler, who teaches a safe protocol of how to detox mercury from the body. Andy Cutler created a Facebook group, comprised of a community support group of people who are detoxing from mercury or lead toxicity, which I found to be super helpful.

Based on what I learned from Andy Cutler's protocol, I want to share with you the safest and most natural way of how to detox mercury from the body.

Below is a description of the detox process that I am currently going through. This is how to detox mercury from the body:

I take ALA, in conjunction with DMSA or DNPS, in an oral form. The ALA acts by pulling the metals out of your tissue. I recommend starting at a low dose in order to see how your body reacts. This will determine how your body is detoxing.

This process can take anywhere between 3 days to 3 weeks. Start with 12.5 milligrams of Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), which is a small amount. Most capsules of ALA are 100-milligrams, so you will need to divide the dose.

Do this every 3 hours, including while you sleep. You need to follow this protocol religiously and exactly as outlined in the protocol.

However long it takes for you to finish one round of capsules, take that same amount of time, off. Then, do another round, at a higher dose, and keep upping it. Keep in mind that the goal is not to be aggressive with this detox process. Doing so can be dangerous.

I recommend sweating while you are detoxing, as this is a great way to release the toxins from your body. A solid sauna or steam is a great idea.

If you want to learn more about how to diagnose mercury toxicity and safely remove toxic metals from your body, I highly recommend that you read David Hammond's book, Mercury Poisoning: The Undiagnosed Epidemic: Source of Mercury and How To Detox.

It can take 1-2 years to detox mercury out of your body, and 4+ years if you have severe levels of it in your body. It’s a long-term journey, but what other option do you have? It’s a sacrifice, but if it means that you will be happier and healthier in the future, it’s worth it.

Taking care of my health is my top priority. I hope this information on how to detox mercury from the body empowers you to be proactive with your health, and take the necessary steps in order to rid your body of these harmful toxic metals.

Take it from Loretta Lanphier – “If you are not making choices towards wellness, you are choosing illness. Use your power of choice wisely.”

Below is a sneak peak of my interview with Trevor Turnbull:

Can you share a little bit about yourself and how you got started in the online business and marketing world?

My entrepreneurial journey started in 2003. I have a marketing degree, but didn’t do anything with it. I knew pretty quickly that I had an entrepreneurial bug inside of me. I got into sales right out of university, and after 3 years I got sick of working for other people and taking direction.

Mike Olaski first introduced me to the digital world in 2006. One year later, I quit my job, and Mike and I started a website development company. We built our business up to 40 clients and then sold that company. From there, I went to work for a digital agency in Saskatoon, where I got to work for some multi-national brands and sports teams. This was in 2007-2008, when social media was just starting to become popular. The executives that I was working with were like, “What is this Facebook thing and how can we leverage it?” I had no clue, but I told them that I did. I taught myself how to use it and started facilitating training programs.

The online world transformed into my passion, in particular the social media side of business and how you can use it to build relationships. I quit that job, and started doing consulting around this exact thing. Mike and I reconnected, went out east and launched a 2nd website, which we called Sports Fan Connect. It was just two dudes on the road, attending sports games, leveraging contacts, and documenting what was going on in the social media world of the sports industry. I used that platform to connect with people that I wanted to meet as well.

How can LinkedIn help people generate leads or sales for their online businesses? What are the main benefits of this tool?

LinkedIn has evolved a lot over the years. It comes down to some basic principles.

The starting point is one’s LinkedIn profile. Oftentimes, it gets viewed as an online resume, a place where you dump your experience, but that’s a big mistake. When you think about core marketing principles you need to address what is the pain point of your audience and figure out how to solve that problem. You have to do the same thing with your LinkedIn profile. If you solve a problem or want to for that matter, and you can address those things, your profile should speak to that person. That will compel him/her to connect with you.

I talk about a very simplified buyer journey, which is comprised of awareness, consideration, evaluation, and then advocacy. If you are building awareness to get yourself in front of the right people who might buy your services or products, they have to know within 3 seconds why they want to read more. That’s why it is so critical to master those tiny tweaks to your profile in order to spark someone’s attention.

Can you expand on how else you can utilize LinkedIn in order to generate more leads and sales?

I talk about a 7-step process in my online training program, The 30 Day Sales Machine. Once you’ve established that base of clearly communicating what you do, the next step is for you to be proactive, and to go find the people that you want to work with. In some cases, you need to play the numbers game. You want to reach out to every single person, but with very targeted messaging. It’s such a tiny thing, but when you are asking to connect with someone on LinkedIn, you have to put it in his/her court to make the decision. It’s a psychological thing. With LinkedIn, the more specific you can be, the more effectively you can speak to the person you are talking to.

Can you talk a bit more about the content-side of LinkedIn?

I go through a 7-step process during my live webinar, where I teach people how you can land your next client using the LinkedIn funnel. The first six steps focus on things like messaging, follow-ups, etc., but the seventh step is about how to build expertise and raise your authority through content publishing. You can do that through publishing directly on LinkedIn, because it has a built-in database of your target audience. The more that you build your 1st-degree network with the right people, the more that your content will be seen. You can also message those people directly and share your content with them. You need to be consistent and have processes in place in order to scale what you are doing. In doing so, it raises your level of expertise.

Can you share any strategies with regards to how people can attract more leads or sales to their physical products or Amazon books, via LinkedIn?

When you are selling a service, you are building relationships. In between selling services are people that sell products, but don’t necessarily sell a widgetized product — like a book that provides education, or a physical product like a supplement. You have to take a hybrid approach, where you are making people aware of what you are selling, but always coming from a value first perspective.

Going back to the buyer journey, awareness is always #1. If you are selling a supplement and you want trainers to be aware of it, you are going to target personal trainers by making sure that your profile speaks to what value you offer those customers. Maybe it’s in the form of educational content that speaks to those things (i.e. testimonials, a video, quality pictures), and then start inviting those people to connect. The same thing goes for e-Book publishing. One of the best ways to offer value is to give away chapters of your book.

What advice would you give to someone that has aspirations of starting an online business? What does it take in order to be successful in the online business world?

In 2009, after years of trying to find my way, I landed on my Mom’s couch for 6 months at the age of 35. It was really humbling and uplifting to know that I had my Mom there to support me. From there, it took me 5-6 years to figure everything out.

Do you want to know how I hit emotional threshold and changed my life? We all cope with emotions in different ways, based in part on our nature and how we are conditioned to respond to challenges in our environments.

John Medina, author of New York Times Bestseller, Brain Rules: (Updated and Expanded): 12 Principles for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home, and School, says that each of us has a unique reaction to stress, which makes it difficult to quantify it.

An emotional threshold is the tipping point at which we perceive a stimulus, threatening or not, and act on it. Depending on the situation, sometimes we have the ability to effectively manage our emotions and make rational decisions, while other times our emotions overpower us, which ends up dictating our decisions.

Research consistently shows that the skill of self-regulation is necessary for reliable emotional well-being. Your emotional threshold can expand or contract throughout your life. If you want to master your life learning how to express, experience, and regulate your emotions needs to be at the top of your list. Are your emotions driving you or destroying you?

When I was in high school I was a very shy, introverted kid, who was obsessed with video games. The online gaming world satisfied my nature and provided me with a comfortable means of non-human enjoyment. I felt safe not having to interact with others in social settings, because that is what made me most anxious.

I was also a very sensitive kid, so when I fell head over heels in love with a girl and she broke my heart, I was devastated. The pain from that experience was a wake-up call. I didn’t want to live a life of suffering, so I made a decision to change my life. Between the ages of 19-21, I would force myself to go out to clubs.

I didn't want to drink and party, but rather I wanted to place myself in these uncomfortable situations so that I would force myself to engage with others and develop the social skills that I desired. I knew that if I placed myself in enough uncomfortable situations, I would eventually get comfortable being uncomfortable. Actions like these are what drove me to improve my social skills, mindset, and confidence.

I remember another experience that made a large impact on the direction that my life would take. At the beginning of my online business, I was really struggling financially. During this time, I was in traveling throughout Cambodia and one day I felt compelled to give back to the people. I gave $20 to one of the poverty-stricken children that were begging on the side of road. Once I gave the money to the child, about 30 other children surrounded me and asked for money as well.

That was a life changing moment for me because I realized that I never wanted to be in a position in my life where I couldn’t give. From that day forward, I made a decision that I never wanted to live from a place of scarcity because it had created so much pain and worry in my life. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest, and so I set out on a journey to create the life that I desired.

One day I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “Enough is enough.” The pain that I was experiencing motivated and inspired me to shift the way that I was living, and take the steps necessary in order to change my life and achieve success. These were the experiences that led me to hit emotional threshold and changed my life!

Many people are victims to their emotions and believe that they have no control over how they feel. I used to adopt this scarcity mentality, but once I realized that only I am in control of my choices, everything in my life changed. Most people cover things up because they don’t want to face the reality of their lives, and they make it acceptable to settle. If you can get to the truth, you can change anything.

If you want to have a larger emotional threshold, you need to learn how to channel negative energy into something positive. Condition your mind so that you approach challenges in life with a proactive mindset. When you do, you will master your emotional state and feel more in control of your life.

In the words of Paul Wong, “The biggest challenge to self-control is emotional regulation. Successful people know how to make their emotions their servants rather than their masters.”

I would like to share with you some money management tips for getting out of debt. Debt is no fun, and the emotional burden that it can create in peoples’ lives can be overwhelming. Henrik Ibsen said it best, “Home life ceases to be free and beautiful as soon as it is founded on borrowing and debt.”

Have you ever wondered why so many people have outrageous debt? A large reason is due to the lack of having a well-disciplined budget and financial life.

Managing your money doesn’t have to be difficult. It’s about knowing how you are using your money. How would your life change if you were free of debt? Make a decision to get rid of it, once and for all.

Below are 5 money management tips for getting out of debt:

1. Be Aware of And Accept Your Debt

One of the most difficult things to do when first getting on the debt pay-off journey, is to truly accept your debt. Oftentimes, the reality of debt is too painful to acknowledge or accept, so the natural response is to avoid that it exists. I speak from personal experience.

When I was in my early 20’s, I was in a lot of debt. I had to make sacrifices in order to manage my money more efficiently and become debt-free. It was the acceptance of my reality that allowed me to make a change in my life. If you are serious about becoming debt-free, you need to acknowledge its existence. Be proactive. Don’t live in fear. Instead, take action.

2. Decide To Change your Spending Habits

Making a decision implies that you are about to take action. When you make the decision to change your spending habits, you are halfway there to financial freedom! Saving money is about changing spending habits. What are your spending habits?

In order to become debt-free, you need to address the actual money management habits that you are struggling with, that led to the debt in the first place. Ramona Pearson, a certified public accountant and personal financial advisor said that “Money habits are formulated at a very young age for most people.” Take the time to figure out why you're spending habits are the way they are.

Sure enough, this is the reason why a lot of people that win the lottery end up losing it all. They don't take the time to develop the discipline in order to manage their money properly.

Focus on cutting your expenses or your overhead in some way. This will allow you to have some extra cash flow every month. Then, you can use that cash flow to start paying off your debt.

3. Track Your Expenses

If you want to free yourself from debt, you need to start tracking your expenses. The best way to work out what you spend your money on and how much you have left at the end of every month, is to keep a record of all your expenses.

According to Pick The Brain, for two weeks you should write everything down that you spend. Record the time, the place, and how much it costs. Doing so will help you identify your spending patterns.

If you haven’t done something like this before, there is a good chance that you will shock yourself. How often do you track your money? If the answer is never, it’s time to get out a calculator and start doing the math!

4. Don’t Spend What You Earn

Once you start making money, don’t be tempted to spend MORE money. This is where people get themselves into trouble. You have to discipline yourself to NOT engage in this behaviour.

In his book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!, Robert Kiyosaki said, “Invest in assets, not liabilities.” An asset is something that puts money into your pocket, while a liability is something that takes money out of your pocket. Which category does everything in your life fall into?

If you can’t manage the money that you currently have, then there is no point making more money. If you adopt the mindset that making MORE money will be the answer to your debt issues, you are wrong. This is a recipe for disaster.

5. Reward Yourself

Adjusting to a new style of living involves sacrifice. Breaking bad habits, especially when it comes to spending money, is hard work. This is why it’s important that you reward yourself when you have practiced self-discipline.

Be kind to yourself and engage in mini-celebrations, now and then. Why? Because the MORE that you acknowledge and reward yourself for your successes, the more success you will have.

Charles Duhigg, New York Times reporter and author of The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Businesssaid “First, you have to pick a cue, like every single time that you get a pay check, you’ll move 5% of it into savings.” The key to making your habit stick is to give yourself a reward every time that you engage in a positive behaviour.

Debt is debt, but don’t feel that you have to punish yourself because of it. Honour the small achievements that you make every day, on your journey towards financial freedom. How you choose to manage and spend your money can have a profound impact on your life. I encourage you to follow these money management tips for getting out of debt.

Your ability to make good money decisions will end up shaping the direction that your life will take. Are you ready to be free of debt? Take control of your financial future now!

I recently had a heavy metal toxicity urine test done and I want to share my results with you. They were shocking, to say the least. Heavy metal toxicity is the accumulation of heavy metals, in toxic amounts, in the soft tissues of the body.

Taking care of my health is my highest priority. Oftentimes, people don’t value their health until sickness and disease ensues. You need to be proactive, rather than reactive. If you want to master your life, you need to adopt healthy habits. Creating new habits take time and commitment, but if you want to live a long and happy life, you need to invest in your health.

In the words of Heather Morgan, “Every time you eat or drink, you are either feeding disease or fighting it.” Is health a top priority in your life? If not, what actions can you take today in order to put it closer to the top?

One of my goals this year was to get a lot of testing done. I’m a big fan of testing because it gives you a more accurate picture of what is going on in your body. A lot of people blindly go about living their lives. They may do cleanses or take supplements, but they aren’t doing these things with a purpose.

I decided to do a heavy metals toxicity urine test after being inspired by Tony Robbins, who recently found out that he had heavy metal poisoning, in particular from mercury. It ended up really affecting his health. Heavy metal toxicity is no joke.

Let me share the test process in more detail. I did an EDTA/DMPS chelating agent test. They put an IV into your vein, the chelating agent goes into your bloodstream, and metals end up binding to it. Heavy metals hide in our tissues.

Our body is always cleansing, but by using a chelating agent, it helps you identify what is going on inside of your body. You then collect your urine for the next 6-12 hours and send it to a lab. When the results are in, they send you the report via email.

The results were shocking. As you can see, I have very high levels of mercury, lead, and gadolinium in my body. With regards to mercury toxicity, it could be from certain fish that you eat, like tuna or swordfish. Another reason could be from mercury fillings in your teeth because the vapours get absorbed into your body. If you are getting a mercury filling replaced with a ceramic one, it can also be very harmful in how they remove it.

Lead can be found in lead-based paints and pipes, especially in older buildings. Lastly, gadolinium is a contrasting agent that is used for MRI scans. My nickel, thallium, and uranium levels were high, but I need to do more research on the causes of those metals.

This has been an eye-opening experience for me. I’m so grateful that I am now equipped with this information. I feel empowered knowing that there is something going on in my body that I can do something about. I want to motivate you to invest more time in your health. Your body is a gift and you need to treat it as such. If you want to master your life, you need to master your health.

Equip yourself with the tools that will allow you to take care of your health, before it’s too late to do so. Jack Lalanne said it best – “Your body is your most priceless possession…so go take care of it!” I hope my test results inspire you to take better care of yourself, in every area of your life.
