A morning ritual empowers your day.

I'm a big believer that how you start the day is how you end the day. If you roll out of bed every day, begrudgingly hit the snooze button, and throw on a pot of coffee before rushing out the door to work, how do you think your day is going to unfold?

Without a positive morning routine, your day can easily turn out precisely how it started – unfocused, uninspired, and unmotivated with everything becoming a potential distraction.

Unfortunately, a lot of people start their days in this way. In turn, they allow life to happen to them, instead of for them. This is why it's so important to create an empowering morning ritual. Think of it like a prayer or an intention that you set for yourself about how you want your day to unfold.

Rituals have allowed me to transform every area of my life. I've been practicing them since I was 17 years old. I used to be a shy, depressed, and insecure kid. However, once I started spending my mornings reprogramming my mind and emotions, over time I saw massive changes.

I started treating myself as if I was a high-performing athlete because I wanted to get the most out of myself and my life. If you don't have a plan for your life, you won't get the most out of your days. It's that simple. My morning ritual is long and in-depth. However, the length of time that I spend on it all depends on what I have planned each day.

This is why I have a 15-minute ritual, a 30-minute ritual, a one-hour ritual, and a two-hour ritual. Inside this blog, I'm going to provide you with a snapshot of some of the rituals that I engage in daily.

Watch the video above, where I walk you through my in-depth morning ritual and demonstrate what is involved with each one!

Keep in mind that there is no golden standard when it comes to rituals. Each person will have different rituals depending on their lifestyles, values, and needs. You don't need to copy the rituals that I engage in. I just want to provide you with options. Let's dive in!

1. Smile

The first thing that I do when I open my eyes is smile. I can't think of a better way to start the day. You can never take a day of your life for granted. Every day is a gift. I'm not saying that I feel positive and happy every single day. That's not realistic.

However, by training myself to smile first thing in the morning, I'm setting the precedent for the rest of my day. When you smile, your body starts to produce good-feelings. The more you feel good, the more good things you will receive.

2. Drink water

After you've been sleeping for 7-8 hours, your body is dehydrated. Your cells are craving water. By drinking water, you kick-start your metabolism. You'll get energized immediately. I use a water ionizer that produces 9.5 alkaline water.

The ionizer micro-clusters water molecules and turns water into an antioxidant. The water goes through 12 titanium plates that are double-dipped in platinum. I drink an entire liter bottle of water before I eat anything.

3. Take supplements

I start my day with a shot of apple cider vinegar. I am over the top when it comes to supplements because my health is my top priority in life. I'm a big fan of enzymes.

Before I eat any food, I'll take a supplement called Masszymes. Throughout the day, I'll take a variety of different supplements, some of which include Vitamin B12, D3, Magnesium, Oil of Oregano, Colloidal Silver, and Probiotics.

4. Read

I like to spend 10 minutes every morning reading a book on my Kindle. If you only read 10 pages of a book every day, that means you will be reading 300 pages, which is one book per month. Over one year, that's 12 books.  A lot of people start their days by looking at social media or their emails.

I think you should check social media and emails after you've completed your morning ritual. The moment that I check my phone I'm distracted. I'm hit with an insane amount of demands in my business. Not surprisingly, I get stressed. It's all downhill from there. This is why I like to feed my mind with positivity and focus on learning first thing in the morning.

5. Journal

I like to write in my 5-Minute Journal. This is a simple process that helps me to focus on the good. I write down three things that I'm grateful for, what would make my day great, and a daily affirmation. Then I write in my Productivity Planner, which helps me plan out my day so that I set myself up to win.

In the evening, I journal about three amazing things that happened and how I could have made the day better.

6. Lie on my PEMF mat

PEMF mat is a portable mat that radiates pulsed electromagnetic fields around your body. Every morning I lie on this mat for 10 minutes while I'm doing my meditation. I also stretch for 5 minutes on my mat.

There are so many amazing health benefits of using a PEMF mat, some of which include reducing inflammation and improving sleep. I lie on my mat in the morning and in the evening before I fall asleep.

7. Stand in front of my JOOVV red light

The JOOVV device has LED lights on it that emit both red and infrared lights. I spend 5 minutes standing in front of it. While I'm doing this, I practice a heart activation exercise. I focus on feeling grateful for my heart and its ability to beat and keep me alive.

If you haven't yet, I encourage you to read the book The Heart Math Solution by Howard Martin and Lew Childre. Inside the book, the authors talk about how accessing your heart's intelligence can improve your focus and creativity, lower your stress and anxiety levels, and strengthen your immune system.

Red light therapy helps your skin produce more collagen which is great for anti-aging. It also helps to increase testosterone for men. I've noticed great benefits from using this device, some of which include helping with muscle pain and reducing wrinkles.

8. Ask my primary question

We all have a question that we ask ourselves throughout our day. Oftentimes, people's primary question is negative. It may be, “Why am I not good enough?” or “Why can't I do anything right?” Whatever you consistently ask yourself is what you will focus on. In turn, that is what you will manifest in your life.

The primary question that I ask myself every day is, “How can I enjoy and appreciate my life even more, while feeling even more fully alive, growing and making a difference in the lives of others?”

The question presupposes that I enjoy and appreciate my life already which is important. On top of that, there is an emphasis on how I can expand and become more. I usually spend a few minutes reciting this question out loud and reflecting upon my answer.

9. Jump on my rebounder

A rebounder is like a mini-trampoline. I like to have my rebounder positioned in my office, along with my vision board, sports memorabilia, and inspirational photos. When I need a break from working I will hop on it.

While I'm jumping on my rebounder, I will look at my vision board and recite affirmations, while listening to music. Instantly, I get a boost of energy because every cell in my body is getting a workout.

There are so many health benefits to rebounding, some of which include improved circulation, digestion, and flexibility, increased endurance, and reduced back pain.

10. Practice my public speaking skills

I like to find incredible speakers who inspire me. I'll watch videos of their talks and study their verbal and non-verbal communication. From there, I'll pay someone to transcribe their talks. Once I have the transcriptions I'll print them out and practice saying the words from the transcript.

When I do this, I like to imagine that I'm speaking in front of a large audience. As I'm speaking, I'm focusing on strengthening my communication skills.

I'm emphasizing certain words and using my body language while speaking with emotion. Practicing and perfecting my public speaking skills translates to many areas of my life.

This is what the morning ritual of a millionaire entrepreneur looks like.

I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for my morning ritual. The empowering habits that I have created have transformed my entire life. For this reason, the mornings continue to be my favorite part of the day. Becoming a morning person isn't easy at first.

However, once you see the impact that a ritual has on every aspect of your life, you too will be addicted to feeling happy and healthy in your mind, body, and spirit.

If you need help kickstarting your healthy habits, I wrote a book called, 67 Morning Ritual Habits For Your Body, Mind, And Spirit. I have personally tested and utilized each of these rituals at different stages of my life.

If you are ready to develop an empowering morning ritual and start living every day with unshakeable confidence, passion, and energy, check out my Morning Ritual Mastery course. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain by making yourself a priority every morning.

When you change your habits, you change your life.

Before you can break destructive habits you first have to commit to change. It takes a lot of willpower and determination to stop engaging in learned behaviors. Sometimes you have to hit your emotional threshold before you're ready to change.

This is the moment at which settling no longer becomes an option. The pain of staying in the same place becomes so much to bear that you become empowered to take action. Self-awareness is the first step to changing anything in your life.

A lot of people suffer from blind spots. They aren't even aware that they are engaging in disempowering habits. In effect, they rationalize and justify their behaviors because the truth is too painful. If you want to change your life, you must be willing to get to the truth.

Who am I today is very different from my younger self. I was in a very dark place when I was a teenager. My bad habits were limiting my potential and preventing me from being the person I knew I could be. Eventually, I got to a point where I was tired of being stuck and feeling depressed. I mustered the courage to look in the mirror and be honest with myself.

The truth set me free. Now is the time to get real with yourself…. what kind of life do you want to have? Is the way you're living now leading you in the direction of your dreams? If not, it's time to change your habits because you deserve to have an abundant and prosperous life.

However, if you do not engage in daily habits that foster that state of being, you will continue to stay stuck. I think you will agree with me that being stuck gets you nowhere in life. Because habits are processed in the brain thousands of times faster than intentional behavior, the only reliable way to change a bad habit is to replace it with a good one. The mere act of engaging in a healthy habit is more important than the habit itself.

The key to forming new habits is repetition.

I'm not going to lie… integrating new habits into your daily life is really hard at first. However, when you start doing something consistently, over time it becomes automatic. A lot of people make the mistake of diving headfirst into a new habit and then wonder they it's so hard to stick with it.

You need to start by making small incremental changes. This is how you will increase your willpower and ensure that your habit sticks. One of the most effective ways to develop new habits is to commit to a 30-day challenge. I've done challenges related to my exercise routine, waking up early, planning my days, and building my business. Pretty much every aspect of my life.

If you can commit to practicing one new habit over 30 days, it will give you the momentum that you need to start making long-lasting changes in your life. Lastly, I encourage you to find people who have overcome the same thing that you are struggling with. Have them be your role model. If they were able to change their bad habits, so can you.

This is how to start new habits that can change your life.

You can change any aspect of your life. If you tried in the past to overcome bad habits with no luck, the beauty of life is that you always get a second chance to try again.

You know deep down inside what is good for you, but nothing will change unless you do. Whenever you engage in habits of success that empower your mind, body, and spirit, you will be inspired to keep doing them.

What new habit will you commit to adopting into your daily life?

How you start your morning sets the tone for your day.

When you woke up today, what is the first thing that you did? Did you immediately check your email, while drinking a coffee and eating a sugary danish before rushing out the door for work? Or did you wake up early, meditate, and eat a healthy breakfast before a morning workout?

No matter which path you chose, it's important to understand that the majority of the choices that we make each day are habits. By nature, we are creatures of habit. Research shows that habits emerge because the brain is constantly looking for ways to save effort.

Hence, we create habits so that we can focus our attention on tasks that require more of our mental and emotional energy. Over time, habits become rituals, meaning that a purpose is attached to our behaviors. Unfortunately, bad habits only serve to disempower you. They drag you down and destroy your happiness.

So, the question remains, “How can you identify whether a habit is disempowering or empowering your life?” Reflect upon how you feel after you indulge in a behavior. If it leaves you feeling flat, uninspired and lacking in self-esteem, you know that it's not serving your highest self.  Sometimes it's not until you experience so much inner pain and turmoil that you feel empowered to take action and change your life.

The first step towards changing anything in your life is self-awareness.

It's one of the most valuable character traits that you can have. A lot of people have blind spots, meaning that they have no idea how their behaviors are negatively impacting their happiness. In short, they don't want to admit that they have a problem. Instead, they distract themselves with disempowering habits to numb the pain that they feel. I'm here to tell you that there is nothing on the outside that will fix what is happening inside. Happiness is an inside job.

How do we change this story? One of the most effective ways that I've been able to change my life is by creating a powerful morning ritual. It is an act of self-love in and of itself. When you spend time every morning nourishing your mind, body, and soul, you are better able to step out into the world and serve others.

More importantly, you will feel a sense of joy, gratitude, and aliveness that is unexplainable. In this state, there is no challenge that will steer you off track because your willpower will be at an all-time high.

Researchers at the University of Nottingham reviewed 83 different studies on self-control and discovered humans have a finite amount of self-control. Shortly after waking up for the day, self-control is at its greatest, and this ability slowly depletes as the day unfolds. Therefore, it is important to take advantage of the energy that you have in the morning.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to creating a morning ritual. Choose rituals that work best for you and your life. If you can commit to spending just 15 minutes or more each morning nourishing yourself, not only will you set yourself up to win, but over time, you will start to radically transform every area of your life.

Change your rituals. Change your life.

Make yourself a priority. Give yourself the gift of time because you are worthy and deserving of it. If you can commit to a daily morning routine, I promise that you will have a successful and happy life.

What does your morning ritual look like?

We all want to be happy. However, not all of us know how to access this state.

You have the power to take control of your own happiness. The trick is knowing how to do it. I'm here to tell you that it's easier than you think.

As the psychologist, William James, put it “The greatest discovery of any generation is that a human can alter his life by altering his attitude.”

Happiness is a state of mind.

It's not something that you have to do. It's a way of being. I like to think of happiness as the ability to embrace what life gives you and personalize it, in a way that serves your highest self.  I believe that all of us want to be happy.

Unfortunately, we are conditioned to believe that happiness is a goal. As a result, people assume that once they make a certain amount of money, find a perfect partner, or buy a house, they will be happy. I hate to break it to you, but this isn't how happiness works. The more that you strive for it, the more that it eludes you.

Emotion researchers have long known about something called the hedonic treadmill. We work very hard to reach a goal, anticipating the happiness it will bring us. Unfortunately, after we experience the “high” that comes with this experience, we fall back into old patterns of behaving.

Years ago, I used to be a very unhappy person. I was depressed, anxious and suicidal at different points in my life. I allowed the world to influence my psychology. In short, I conditioned myself to be a certain way. In order to get out of this funk, I had to recondition my mind and break the habit of being myself. How did I do this?

I created a morning ritual.

This one decision changed the course of my entire life. I'm extremely passionate about morning rituals, so much so that I designed a course about them which is called Morning Ritual Mastery. I also wrote an inexpensive ebook called, 67 Morning Rituals For Your Body, Mind and Spirit, where I outline, in detail, the habits and rituals that have contributed to my success in life.

Today, I'm the happiest I've ever been. However, this didn't happen overnight. I had to condition myself to be happy. You are what you repeatedly do every single day. We all have different emotional states that we experience on a daily basis. That being said, each of us has a default way of being that has been conditioned from our parents, our peers, and our society.

If this state is negative in nature, happiness won't feel like a natural way of being in the world. One theory in psychology research shows that we all have a happiness set-point which determines our overall well-being and fulfillment in life. On a daily basis we fluctuate around this set point, meaning that we become happier when something great happens or the opposite when something bad happens.

The great news is that you have control over this set-point. Hence, your happiness is an inside job, rather than being something that is found outside of yourself. A morning ritual allows you to condition happiness by way of re-writing disempowering patterns of behavior and replacing them with more empowering ones.

What you focus on, you feel. Engaging in rituals like practicing gratitude, journaling or reciting affirmations will help you to feel more positive emotions, and hence, be a happier person overall.

Are you ready to finally be happy?

If you are feeling lost in life right now, do the work to create your own happiness. The easiest way to do this is to create a morning ritual and stay consistent with it. At the end of the day, it's a choice that you need to make. Today is a brand new day to be, do and experience whatever it is that you want.

You are worthy of being happy. Believe it.

I would like to share with you 4 ways to build a motivation mindset. Motivation is the driving force that inspires people to take action in life. Think about a time when you felt really motivated to achieve a goal. How did it feel? How did that feeling fuel your desire to achieve it?

When it comes to making big changes in life, your desire must overrule your fear. It all comes down to your mindset. Simply expressing that you want to achieve a goal isn’t enough. Internal motivation is only one piece of the puzzle. You need to actually put in the effort, which requires mental strength.

Achieving anything of value requires hard work, perseverance, commitment, and energy. You can expect to experience setbacks and failures along your path to success. That is a normal part of life and an integral aspect of the learning process.

In the words of Joe DiMaggio,Motivation is something that nobody else can give you…it must come from inside you, and you must possess a constant desire to do your very best at all times and under any circumstance.”

Let’s explore 4 ways to build a motivation mindset:

1. Know Your Strengths

When you have an awareness of your strengths, it helps you make smarter choices in life because it equips you with the right resources and tools that will contribute to your success. When it comes to your goals, having knowledge of your strengths gives you the confidence and motivation to take action so that you can take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.

2. Find the “Why” Behind Your Goals

Before you set out to achieve your goals, you need an empowering “why”. Dig deep and ask yourself, “Why do I want to achieve this goal?” More importantly, what will be the consequence or pain that you will experience if you do not achieve this goal?”

In the process of constructing your dream life, the important thing to be aware of is not the goals you set, but rather what motivates you towards those goals. Are you chasing what it is that you really want in life? In the words of Henry David Thoreau, “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”

3. Enjoy the Process

Are you truly enjoying your life or do you find that you are constantly stressed out about everything? So many people are focused on the destination alone that they forget to enjoy the process of getting to where they want to go.

Goals aren’t all about the end result. If you want to be consistent over the long-term, you need to find ways to enjoy the process. In his book, The Slight Edge: Turning Simple Disciplines into Massive Success and Happiness, Jeff Olson says, “Here is the amazing thing—and I’ve seen this happen so many times, yet it never ceases to fill me with awe: when you set your goals, life has a way of rearranging itself, a series of events starts in motion that you could never have predicted or planned, to get you there.”

If you want to master your life, don’t attach yourself to outcomes. Slow down in order to achieve more. Ernest Hemingway said it best – “It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.”

4. Stay Hungry

Goals give us a sense of direction, but when life takes a turn, it may mean that your goals have to change with it. Willpower and the motivation to succeed are at their peak during the beginning stages of your journey towards the achievement of any pursuit.

The trick is to stay hungry and keep your momentum flowing. A great way to stay connected to your vision is to adopt a ritual that reminds you of why you set out to achieve a goal in the first place.

Take 5 minutes every day and journal about your goals. When you write your goals down, it’s like planting a seed. If you water that seed every day, you will be amazed at how quickly your dream life can manifest into your reality.

Building a motivation mindset is essential for achieving success in life. Become mindful of doing the very things that will support you in the achievement of your goals. Never forget that your mind is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal for supporting your highest aspirations in life.

Take it from Denise J. Hart, who said, “To get what you want in life you must develop the ability to think in the way that will support your goals and dreams.” When you master your mind, you master your life.

The post ABUNDANCE MINDSET vs. SCARCITY MINDSET appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

There is a HUGE difference between an abundance mindset vs. scarcity mindset. The path that your life takes depends, in part, on the mindset that you adopt. You can choose to either view the world as abundant or scarce, but they cannot co-exist.

The abundance mindset flows out of a deep inner sense of personal worth and security. It is a paradigm that is grounded in the belief that ‘there is more than enough’ for everyone. Alternatively, a scarcity mindset is the belief that there will never be enough, resulting in feelings of fear, stress, and anxiety.

In his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change, Stephen Covey explains that when you live in a world of scarcity, you compete for available resources, even when there is an abundance of them. What type of mindset do you ascribe to? One mindset will imprison you, while the other one will set you free.

I am a firm believer that if you choose to adopt a character that is rich in abundance, you will become a master of your life. The beauty of life is that at any given moment, you have the power to change your life. If you choose to make the mental shift, from a place of scarcity to one of abundance, you will transform your entire life.

I am living proof that this works. Years ago I possessed a scarcity mindset and it negatively impacted me on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. Once I made the decision to change my mindset, and walk the path of abundance, great things started happening.

I’ve observed a lot of people in my work and in my life that are consumed by a scarcity mindset, so much so that it holds them back from living to their full potential. In particular, I see a lot of examples of people that have incredible external abundance, but that live in a state of fear.

They have a lose-win mindset, which says that, ‘there is only so much pie to go around, and if you get some, there will be less for me.’ Adopting this mode of thinking only results in a life of fear, stress, and anxiety.

Below are 3 differences of an abundance vs. scarcity mindset:

Take a Risk vs. Play it Safe

Those with an abundance mindset understand that in order to grow, you need to get out of your comfort zone and take a risk in order to achieve their goals. They welcome change and see it as an opportunity to grow and expand. Those with a scarcity mindset are fret by fear. They think small and avoid risk at all costs.

Plenty vs. Deficit

A person with an abundance mindset believes that there is always more of everything in life, whether that’s money, relationships, resources, opportunities, etc. Alternatively, someone with a scarcity mentality lives in fear that they are going to lose their time or money. Because they believe that there will never be enough, they are in constant competition to ‘stay on top’.

Positive vs. Negative

A person with an abundance mindset focuses on the limitless possibilities that exist in life. They choose to think in positive terms about everything that happens in life, good or bad. As a result of this way of thinking, they attract amazing experiences and opportunities into their lives. Alternatively, someone with a scarcity mindset always dwells on what isn’t working in his/her life. They adopt a victim mentality and blame others for their failures, instead of taking responsibility for their actions.

These are some of the differences between an abundance vs. scarcity mindset. Do you think you are suffering from a place of scarcity or abundance? If you are living from a scarcity mindset it’s time to make a shift. How? Start with your beliefs. Focus on giving more, whether that’s your money, your time, or your love.

For example, one of my rituals involves giving. I do a lot of philanthropy work that inspires me to live from a place of abundance every day. The more that you give, the more you will receive. Another option is to take a leap of faith and hire a coach, find a mentor, or attend a seminar or event that will inspire you to change your mindset.

Allow for more abundance to flow into your life. If you do so, the end result will be life mastery. William James said it best – “The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind.” When you adopt an abundance mindset, your life will change forever.

Are you living your life with purpose?   Do you wake up every day with a sense of excitement and vitality, with the belief that you are capable of achieving anything you desire? If not, it’s time to make a change and I’m here to show you how. That is why I created Life Mastery Accelerator, which is a monthly mentoring program for those that are committed to mastering every area of their lives and that refuse to settle for anything less than an extraordinary quality of life.

This may come as a surprise to you, but people who do extraordinary things in life are no more extraordinary than you are. The only difference is that they have learned how to develop a mastery mindset. Your mindset is everything. It is the foundation for everything that happens in your life. If you aren’t happy with where you are in life, start with changing your beliefs. We see the world through our lens of perception, which is based on our belief systems.

One of the most basic beliefs we carry about ourselves has to do with how we view and inhabit what we consider to be our personality. If you want to be successful in life and in business, you need to adopt a “growth mindset.” This is a type of person that thrives on challenge and sees failure as an opportunity for growth.  Stanford University psychologist, Carol Dweck explains, “For twenty years, my research has shown that the view you adopt for yourself profoundly affects the way you lead your life. It can determine whether you become the person you want to be and whether you accomplish the things you value.”

Unfortunately, many people have limiting beliefs that inhibit their potential. If this rings true for you, you aren’t alone. Limiting beliefs are the words of your monkey mind that inhibit you from achieving your dreams. What do you tell yourself every day?  In the words of Henry Ford, “If you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.”  The reality is that you have the power to choose how you want to create your life.

Are you ready to receive cutting edge strategies for accelerating success and mastering every area of your life, every month, LIVE? CLICK HERE to join my Life Mastery Accelerator program!

If you are serious about achieving success and mastering every area of your life, it requires that you commit to the following:

1. A constant desire for learning new ideas, concepts, and strategies that can enhance every aspect of your life.

I am a firm believer that investing in your learning and education is the best gift that you can give yourself. Continuous learning is key to success in the 21st century. The most successful people in any industry spend a large percentage of their time working on their personal development. Jim Rohn said it best, “Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.” Learning is important, but even more important is applying what it is that you learn. So many people get stuck in “analysis paralysis”, where they overanalyze a situation so much so that they never end up making a decision or taking action. If you want to stay one step ahead of the game in life and in business, make it a priority to adopt a learner mentality.

2. An unrelenting commitment to mastery.

Mastery requires humility, depth, perseverance, and a commitment to yourself to take the action.  Have you ever wondered why some people succeed while others fail? It comes down to making the choice between two opposing mindsets – the master or the dabbler.  When a master commits to something, they are in it 100%. They don’t get distracted, but rather stay focused on one path until they have achieved their goals. The dabbler is someone who likes new and exciting things, but easily becomes bored, and starts the process all over again with something else. As a result, these people never fully invest or stay committed to anything in life. Are you the dabbler or the master?

It is easy to get caught in a dabbler mentality, but if you want to achieve any success in life, you need to commit to mastery.   George Leonard summed it up best in his book, Mastery: The Keys to Success and Long-Term Fulfillment, when he said, “Mastery is the path of patient, dedicated effort, without attachment to immediate results.”

3. A caring and supportive mentor with a proven track record of success that inspires you, challenges you, and guides you to achieving success in ALL areas of your life.

People who are committed to a life of mastery are resourceful. They want to learn from the best, which means that they actively seek out mentors, coaches, and role models that help them to take action in order to achieve their goals. You aren’t expected to know all of the answers. It takes a certain level of courage to start a business. Even the most hard working, driven, and committed aspiring entrepreneurs can benefit from the wisdom of someone who has ‘been there, done that’. The best mentors will help you learn and grow by sharing their knowledge and wisdom with you. This is my commitment to you.

If you encountered a challenge or obstacle, what would your highest self do?

Connecting to your highest self is a spiritual quest; it is a way of being that you aspire to become. It is the real you, the voice that expresses itself most clearly when you are in alignment with your vision and purpose in life.

I believe that we all have a version of ourselves that we aspire to become. The journey to get there isn’t easy; it takes courage, determination, and a belief in yourself. Imagine a version of yourself that is void of limiting beliefs, someone with infinite capabilities?

Unfortunately, a lot of people base their lives on their past selves. If you are unable to let go of your old story, you won't be able to move forward and embrace the infinite possibilities that life offers.

In the words of Deepak Chopra, “When you contact the higher self…you tap into a reservoir of infinite power.”

Unfortunately a lot of people base their lives on their past selves. If you are unable to let go of your old story, you won't be able to move forward and embrace life's infinite possibilities.  When you encounter challenges in life, how do you respond? Do you use these experiences as motivation to propel you forward, or do you give up?

My past or current self would be terrified of doing things, like filming videos on YouTube, starting a business, or approach a stranger, but my highest self has no fear. When I am in this space, I am powerful and unstoppable.  When you tap into your highest self, you perceive and respond to people and the world around you in a different way.

Move through your life and act as if you already embody your highest self. Creating morning rituals allow you to be at your best every day. What could you do today in order to become a better version of yourself?  As you develop your higher self and your philosophy towards life, you will become more in alignment with your true self and move towards the path of self-actualization.

Show up every day and take action to achieve your goals, because every next level of your life will demand a different version of you. In the words of Wayne Dyer, “Your highest self is not just an idea that sounds lofty or spiritual. It is a way of being. It is the first principle that you must come to understand and embrace as you move toward attracting to you that which you want and need for this parenthesis in eternity that you know as your life.”

What would your highest self do? Start embodying that person today and watch your life change for the better.

Video transcript

Here's a question I want you to ask yourself every single day. Every time you encounter an obstacle, a challenge, a setback, failure, whatever it might be, it's a question that I use every day as part of my morning ritual and all throughout the day. It's the question of how would my best and highest self respond to this situation? Okay. How would my best and my highest self respond to this situation? What would I do if I was at my absolute best? If I was the person that I dreamed of being. That strong, that powerful, that charismatic, that confident person, what would they do? How would they respond?

You see, I believe that we all have a higher self. We all have the best version of ourselves, if you will. Maybe you've already experienced that. Maybe you've experienced times in your life where you're blown away by yourself, but you felt confident and you felt charismatic and you're the life of the party or you didn't hesitate, you just made the decision, you went for it. Or you just felt really good, really happy about yourself. Often … Maybe that's not the norm every day for you. Maybe it is. I believe that we always have a version of ourselves that we aspire to be. That we're always growing. We're always evolving.

That might be your future you a year from now, five year, ten years, twenty years from now. We're all going to grow and evolve to be a better version of ourselves. That version of ourselves is going to be more conscious. A more conscious human being. A better human being. Hopefully, if you are watching this video and you subscribed to my channel, you're into personal development and life mastery, then that's the goal, right?

As your highest self, you might not be there just yet, but when you ask yourself that question, you're going to get a different answer about how you're going to respond to situations. Let me give you an example. Let's say that you're driving in your car and someone cuts you off. Your current self or maybe your past self, because a lot of people they live their lives based on a past identity that they never really upgrade and never evolve, so they keep responding and reacting to the same situations of life.

Your current or past self might respond to that situation in a negative way. They might get frustrated, they might get angry, they might get upset. There might be some sort of negative emotion around that, whereas, I want you to ask yourself if that happened to you, how would your highest self respond? Your high self, the version of yourself that you view as someone who's happy and powerful and confident, how would they respond? The answer that you might get might be something like, you know, just going to shrug it off. It's not going to affect them.

They might put a big smile on their face and maybe focus on really caring for that person that cut them off and maybe having sympathy, having love for them, maybe wishing them well and not creating a negative meaning or reaction from that. Right? That's how your highest self would respond to that. Let's say that you're in your business and you encounter failure, a setback. Something happens. Something outside of your control. Something with a customer. Something with a platform or a technology or the economy. Whatever that is, your current or your past self might respond to that situation one way.

Maybe a negative response, but how would your highest self respond? How would you at your absolute best or the person that you want to be one day, how would they respond to that situation? Maybe they're going to view it as a blessing, as a gift. Maybe they're going to look for the lessons from that experience and help ensure that that never happens again. Maybe they're going to use that as motivation or drive that can light a fire under their ass and can help you move forward and prosper and not get caught up in it, but take action because massive action is a cure-all.

It's a remedy that solves everything. How would your highest self respond? I want you to ask yourself that question every time there's a negative certain situation or an obstacle or challenge or failure. Anything comes up, ask yourself that question. You'll be surprised about the answers that you get. The truth is all you really got to do is act as if. Act as if that you are that person that you want to be. Step into that. Meet these challenges and these obstacles as your highest self in your life. Show up as that. Because all it really requires is making that decision. Asking yourself, “How would my high self respond?

What would I do if I was at my absolute best? If I was confident, if I was that happy person, how would they respond?” Or how would I respond at that best situation to this circumstance? You'll get the answers, then you step into it. You decide to put that smile on your face. You decide to be confident. You decide to make that decision. There's a lot of things for myself that my past self or my current self would be terrified of doing. I'd be terrified, you know, my past self of public speaking or putting myself in front of a video or making that investment decision or starting the business or approaching that stranger.

I'm not living for my past though. I ask myself, my highest self, what would I do? My highest self doesn't have any fear. It would decide to make that business happen. It would decide to enter into that relationship, to make that move or that decision that could allow me to grow or get in front of an audience or hit record and put myself out there. That's what my highest self does. We all have that within ourselves. The more that you can access that and associate to your highest self and make decisions and live your life from that and step into that, then you're going to become it. You're going to become the person that you want to be.

If you enjoyed this video, I want to encourage you to hit the thumbs up. I appreciate all your support. Subscribe to more videos like this and if you want to make it a ritual in your life to be at your best, then I highly recommend that you check out my morning ritual mastery course at morningritualmastery.com. I will link below. I believe that we could have rituals in our life that be at our best every single day. Maybe even incorporate this into your ritual by asking yourself this question.

How would my highest self respond. How would my highest self tackle this day or take massive action. What would I do today as my highest self? You do that every day. You integrate it to your ritual. You'll take your life to a whole new level. Thanks for watching.

I would like to share with you four healthy habits to adopt in the New Year.

The New Year brings with it vibrant energy and an opportunity to establish fresh habits and a new outlook on life.

Many people start the New Year by making big resolutions, but they forget that it’s the small things that you do every day that have the biggest impact in your life.

Your daily actions make you who you are.  Robert Kyosaki once said, “Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow”. Positive habits are a great way to nurture your mind, body and soul.

They allow you to continually grow and improve yourself  so that we you can achieve life mastery. You may be wondering – “What is a habit?” According to Dr. Clayton Cook, a professor at the University of Minnesota, “Within the field of psychology, habits refer to behaviors that are provoked somewhat automatically in response to cues embedded in the environment”.

The reason why so many people have a hard time maintaining positive habits is because habits form out of repetition. Most people initially engage in a behavior to form a healthy habit, but don’t repeat it enough to form the habit. Here are four healthy habits to adopt in New Year:

Healthy Habit #1 – Wake Up Slowly

We have been conditioned to jump out of bed, immediately look at our emails, drink coffee, and rush off to work. When you start the day wrong, it effects your mood and nothing flows smoothly. Does this sound like your daily routine?  If so, it's time to change your habits.

Marcus Aurelius once said, “When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love”. Slow down and take time each morning to appreciate and show gratitude for yourself and your life.

Start your day with hot water and lemon, take 5 minutes to meditate, write in your journal, or do some breathing exercises. The mind is a powerful thing. You need to condition it every day for optimal success.

Healthy Habit #2 – Sit Less, Move More

When you think of a New Years resolution, sitting less is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. We all know how important it is to exercise, but even more important is sitting less.

New research shows that simply sitting, without much standing or light physical activity, may have negative effects on our biochemistry, whether we’ve exercised or not. The average adult is sitting or sedentary for about 9.5 or 10 hours a day.

Dr. James Levine is credited with coining the mantra, “Sitting is the new smoking”. In his book, Get Up!: Why Your Chair is Killing You and What You Can Do About It, his research shows that today’s chair-based world has negative consequences on our health, and is a leading cause of diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.

After reading his book I was inspired to purchase a LifeSpan Treadmill Desk, which has radically shifted my energy levels throughout the day.

If you work from home, this is a great way to get exercise, while making money on your business. Any excuse that you can find throughout your day to stand, walk, dance, stretch or jump, do it.  It’s a great habit to adopt, and its good for your health.

Healthy Habit #3 – Get Unplugged

Do you have a 24/7 technology habit? If so, you’re not alone. Our hyper-connected lives mean that we are available at any time and place. The result? We are more disconnected than ever before. Albert Einstein made a good prediction when he said, “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity”.

In a study of 1,600 managers and professionals, Leslie Perlow, a professor of leadership at the Harvard Business School, found that:

  • 70 percent said they check their smartphone within an hour of getting up.
  • 56 percent check their phone within an hour of going to sleep.
  • 44 percent said they would experience “a great deal of anxiety” if they lost their phone and couldn't replace it for a week.

Disconnecting from technology is a hard habit to break, but it is a luxury.  Get unplugged.  You will thank me for it. Not only does it allow you to be more present with yourself, but it also strengthens the connections with your work colleagues, partners and family members.

According to a 2011 study published in the Journal of Personal and Ubiquitous Computing, people aren't addicted to smartphones themselves as much as they are addicted to “checking habits” that develop with phone use, including repeatedly checking for news updates, emails, or social media connections.

Silence your phone before bed. Read a book instead. Give your brain and your eyes a chance to rest.

Healthy Habit #4 – Sleep More

We all know how it feels when we don’t get enough sleep – we wake up feeling groggy and grumpy. Lack of sleep impairs your ability to pay attention and retain new information, resulting in a lack of productivity and concentration. Extensive research has been done on the effects of sleep, showing that it is critical for healthy brain functioning, emotional wellbeing, and quality of life. Therefore, it is vital that you make it a top priority.

If you are someone that struggles to get 7-8 hours of sleep, try building sleeping habits into your bedtime routine. Avoid stimulants, meditate, put away your phone or your computer, or make an effort to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.

The Happiness Project: Or, Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun author, Gretchen Rubin, writes about the importance of having a bedtime ritual, which can pave the way for an optimal experience the next day.

Studies have shown that it takes, on average, 66 days to form a new habit. Self-care is so important. Start today, challenge yourself, and watch your life transform for the better.
