A morning ritual empowers your day.

I'm a big believer that how you start the day is how you end the day. If you roll out of bed every day, begrudgingly hit the snooze button, and throw on a pot of coffee before rushing out the door to work, how do you think your day is going to unfold?

Without a positive morning routine, your day can easily turn out precisely how it started – unfocused, uninspired, and unmotivated with everything becoming a potential distraction.

Unfortunately, a lot of people start their days in this way. In turn, they allow life to happen to them, instead of for them. This is why it's so important to create an empowering morning ritual. Think of it like a prayer or an intention that you set for yourself about how you want your day to unfold.

Rituals have allowed me to transform every area of my life. I've been practicing them since I was 17 years old. I used to be a shy, depressed, and insecure kid. However, once I started spending my mornings reprogramming my mind and emotions, over time I saw massive changes.

I started treating myself as if I was a high-performing athlete because I wanted to get the most out of myself and my life. If you don't have a plan for your life, you won't get the most out of your days. It's that simple. My morning ritual is long and in-depth. However, the length of time that I spend on it all depends on what I have planned each day.

This is why I have a 15-minute ritual, a 30-minute ritual, a one-hour ritual, and a two-hour ritual. Inside this blog, I'm going to provide you with a snapshot of some of the rituals that I engage in daily.

Watch the video above, where I walk you through my in-depth morning ritual and demonstrate what is involved with each one!

Keep in mind that there is no golden standard when it comes to rituals. Each person will have different rituals depending on their lifestyles, values, and needs. You don't need to copy the rituals that I engage in. I just want to provide you with options. Let's dive in!

1. Smile

The first thing that I do when I open my eyes is smile. I can't think of a better way to start the day. You can never take a day of your life for granted. Every day is a gift. I'm not saying that I feel positive and happy every single day. That's not realistic.

However, by training myself to smile first thing in the morning, I'm setting the precedent for the rest of my day. When you smile, your body starts to produce good-feelings. The more you feel good, the more good things you will receive.

2. Drink water

After you've been sleeping for 7-8 hours, your body is dehydrated. Your cells are craving water. By drinking water, you kick-start your metabolism. You'll get energized immediately. I use a water ionizer that produces 9.5 alkaline water.

The ionizer micro-clusters water molecules and turns water into an antioxidant. The water goes through 12 titanium plates that are double-dipped in platinum. I drink an entire liter bottle of water before I eat anything.

3. Take supplements

I start my day with a shot of apple cider vinegar. I am over the top when it comes to supplements because my health is my top priority in life. I'm a big fan of enzymes.

Before I eat any food, I'll take a supplement called Masszymes. Throughout the day, I'll take a variety of different supplements, some of which include Vitamin B12, D3, Magnesium, Oil of Oregano, Colloidal Silver, and Probiotics.

4. Read

I like to spend 10 minutes every morning reading a book on my Kindle. If you only read 10 pages of a book every day, that means you will be reading 300 pages, which is one book per month. Over one year, that's 12 books.  A lot of people start their days by looking at social media or their emails.

I think you should check social media and emails after you've completed your morning ritual. The moment that I check my phone I'm distracted. I'm hit with an insane amount of demands in my business. Not surprisingly, I get stressed. It's all downhill from there. This is why I like to feed my mind with positivity and focus on learning first thing in the morning.

5. Journal

I like to write in my 5-Minute Journal. This is a simple process that helps me to focus on the good. I write down three things that I'm grateful for, what would make my day great, and a daily affirmation. Then I write in my Productivity Planner, which helps me plan out my day so that I set myself up to win.

In the evening, I journal about three amazing things that happened and how I could have made the day better.

6. Lie on my PEMF mat

PEMF mat is a portable mat that radiates pulsed electromagnetic fields around your body. Every morning I lie on this mat for 10 minutes while I'm doing my meditation. I also stretch for 5 minutes on my mat.

There are so many amazing health benefits of using a PEMF mat, some of which include reducing inflammation and improving sleep. I lie on my mat in the morning and in the evening before I fall asleep.

7. Stand in front of my JOOVV red light

The JOOVV device has LED lights on it that emit both red and infrared lights. I spend 5 minutes standing in front of it. While I'm doing this, I practice a heart activation exercise. I focus on feeling grateful for my heart and its ability to beat and keep me alive.

If you haven't yet, I encourage you to read the book The Heart Math Solution by Howard Martin and Lew Childre. Inside the book, the authors talk about how accessing your heart's intelligence can improve your focus and creativity, lower your stress and anxiety levels, and strengthen your immune system.

Red light therapy helps your skin produce more collagen which is great for anti-aging. It also helps to increase testosterone for men. I've noticed great benefits from using this device, some of which include helping with muscle pain and reducing wrinkles.

8. Ask my primary question

We all have a question that we ask ourselves throughout our day. Oftentimes, people's primary question is negative. It may be, “Why am I not good enough?” or “Why can't I do anything right?” Whatever you consistently ask yourself is what you will focus on. In turn, that is what you will manifest in your life.

The primary question that I ask myself every day is, “How can I enjoy and appreciate my life even more, while feeling even more fully alive, growing and making a difference in the lives of others?”

The question presupposes that I enjoy and appreciate my life already which is important. On top of that, there is an emphasis on how I can expand and become more. I usually spend a few minutes reciting this question out loud and reflecting upon my answer.

9. Jump on my rebounder

A rebounder is like a mini-trampoline. I like to have my rebounder positioned in my office, along with my vision board, sports memorabilia, and inspirational photos. When I need a break from working I will hop on it.

While I'm jumping on my rebounder, I will look at my vision board and recite affirmations, while listening to music. Instantly, I get a boost of energy because every cell in my body is getting a workout.

There are so many health benefits to rebounding, some of which include improved circulation, digestion, and flexibility, increased endurance, and reduced back pain.

10. Practice my public speaking skills

I like to find incredible speakers who inspire me. I'll watch videos of their talks and study their verbal and non-verbal communication. From there, I'll pay someone to transcribe their talks. Once I have the transcriptions I'll print them out and practice saying the words from the transcript.

When I do this, I like to imagine that I'm speaking in front of a large audience. As I'm speaking, I'm focusing on strengthening my communication skills.

I'm emphasizing certain words and using my body language while speaking with emotion. Practicing and perfecting my public speaking skills translates to many areas of my life.

This is what the morning ritual of a millionaire entrepreneur looks like.

I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for my morning ritual. The empowering habits that I have created have transformed my entire life. For this reason, the mornings continue to be my favorite part of the day. Becoming a morning person isn't easy at first.

However, once you see the impact that a ritual has on every aspect of your life, you too will be addicted to feeling happy and healthy in your mind, body, and spirit.

If you need help kickstarting your healthy habits, I wrote a book called, 67 Morning Ritual Habits For Your Body, Mind, And Spirit. I have personally tested and utilized each of these rituals at different stages of my life.

If you are ready to develop an empowering morning ritual and start living every day with unshakeable confidence, passion, and energy, check out my Morning Ritual Mastery course. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain by making yourself a priority every morning.

How would your life change if you could feel confident every day, without fail?

Without confidence, it's hard to achieve much of anything. Where a lot of people get stuck is that they listen to their inner critic.

You know that voice that tells you all of the reasons why you'll fail or why you're not good enough?

I've got great news! This voice isn't you. It's merely a conditioned part of you that can be changed. Even better, you can transform your inner critic into your inner ally.

Confidence is a state of mind, meaning that it can be developed.

If you're ready to feel confident every day, you'll want to keep reading…

How would it feel to wake up every day with unstoppable confidence? CLICK HERE to get instant access to my FREE Morning Ritual Cheatsheet!

On a scale from 1-10, how confident are you?

The quality of your thoughts determines how you feel about yourself. According to the National Science Foundation, an average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, 80% are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts. Crazy, right? If confidence doesn't come naturally to you, its time to reflect upon how you speak to yourself on a daily basis.

I'm not saying that it's easy to wake up every morning feeling unstoppable, but it is possible. If you commit to flexing your self-belief muscle, you can feel confident every day. However, keep in mind that nobody is born confident. Confidence is something that you condition and create with practice.

The moment that you start doubting yourself is the moment that you have to change your state. One of the best ways to take back control of your day and your life is to create an empowering morning ritual. Every successful person in the world has one. Taking time every single morning to nourish your mind, body and soul is an act of radical self-love. If you don't make yourself a priority, everything else in your life will suffer.

By proactively putting yourself in a powerful state from the get-go, you set yourself up to win. You'll be in a better frame of mind to handle any challenges that you encounter throughout the day. The go-to confidence ritual that I practice every day is reciting incantations.

These are empowering phrases that you verbalize using your entire body. Incantations are about embodying the meaning behind the words. This is how you reprogram your mind and cultivate new and empowering beliefs.

In this proactive state, taking action is effortless.

Challenges become opportunities. Failure becomes feedback. Whatever emotional state that you choose to live in on a consistent basis becomes your default way of being. I used to be a shy and anxious kid. That was a state of being that I conditioned every day by engaging in behaviors that were enabling my shyness.

It's fair to say I had zero confidence or belief in my abilities. I knew that if I wanted to be a more confident person, I needed to practice being confident, even though it felt uncomfortable to do so. Doing hard things builds resilience.

It is what has allowed me to overcome my greatest insecurities in life and build the self-confidence that I have today. If your life feels like it's limited right now, it's only because you're limiting your mind to what is possible. Another effective tool for boosting confidence and training your brain to be unstoppable is to create a daily visualization ritual.

Close your eyes and envision what it would look like and feel like to have unshakeable confidence. Reflect upon a time when you felt really confident. Put yourself back in that place. Imagine all the details. The more you repeat a thought or a feeling, the sooner it becomes a belief, a part of who you are.

The next time you're in a similar situation where you desire to have more confidence, anchor yourself back to that confident experience you once had, and recreate those confident feelings. You'll be amazed at how quickly your emotional state will change.

Are you ready to feel confident every day?

Here's the hard truth – if you don't believe in yourself then nobody is going to believe in you. Believing in yourself doesn't have to be hard. Make it a ritual to show up for yourself every day. Flex your belief muscle on a consistent basis and watch your entire life change before your eyes.

In Steve Jobs' Stay Hungry Stay Foolish commencement speech to the Stanford class of 2005, he said – “For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today? ‘ And whenever the answer has been ‘No' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”

If today was the last day of your life, would you want to feel how you're feeling right now? Your answer may be the very thing that sets you free.

Are you a morning person?

Morning people tend to be “get up and go” types who feel proactive in the morning, wide awake at an early hour, and prefer to be productive before lunchtime. If this doesn't describe you, but you have the desire to wake up earlier, I want you to know that I admire your commitment to personal growth.

If you want to start waking up at 5am, you need to know the benefits of doing so and associate something positive to those benefits. Secondly, you need to know why you want to wake up at 5am. Your “why” is what is going to discipline you to get through the uncomfortable period of developing this new habit. Write down what those reasons are. They will motivate you to follow through.

I know that by waking up at 5am, I am building discipline, willpower, and setting up my day for success. Psychologically, this gives me a huge advantage.  Don't get me wrong… waking up early didn't always come naturally for me. I had to work at it. However, because I made it a core part of my morning ritual, over time it became easier. Today, I look forward to starting my day at 5am.

Half of the battle of waking up at 5am is knowing what time you have to fall asleep.

If you want to have a productive day, you must be getting a sufficient amount of sleep, at least 7 hours worth. I like to plan and schedule my bedtime. I do this by setting an alarm on my phone one hour before I intend to fall asleep.

If you tend to be a nighthawk, I recommend taking Melatonin which is a natural supplement that helps make you drowsy. Similarly, if you are someone who tends to use your computer or phone before bed, I encourage you to invest in blue-blocking glasses. They will help make sure that your body continues to release melatonin.

To ensure that you wake up at 5am, put your alarm clock on the other side of the room, so that you are forced to get out of bed to turn off the alarm. Also, try changing your alarm clock sound to a song that gets you pumped up and excited to start the day. When I hear my alarm go off, I smile. In doing so, I condition my mind to feel good about waking up early.

If you want to take it a step further, find an early-riser friend and make a deal that you will call them at 5:10am. This is a great way to hold yourself accountable for waking up early. On that call, tell him or her 1-3 things that you will commit to accomplishing that day.

This is how to wake up at 5am.

Anyone can become a morning person. It starts with creating an empowering morning ritual and committing to sticking with it. I promise that once you become accustomed to waking up at 5am every day, your life will change for the better.

Are you ready for the challenge? You can do it! I believe in you.

A New Year is here! Now is the time to think about all of the amazing things you want to create in 2019.

Setting goals for the New Year are easy to do, but following through with them is another story altogether. Nearly half of us are making New Year's resolutions, but less than 10 percent of us are actually keeping them.

The New Year isn't about making life-changing transformations. Rather, it's about committing to integrating healthy habits into your everyday life.

Are you ready to learn 5 tips to make your New Year's resolutions stick?

Watch the video below where I share the best of Project Life Mastery in 2018:

Are you ready to create New Year's resolutions for a better future?

Before you even think about what you want your resolutions to be, I encourage you to first acknowledge the experiences and lessons that have brought you to where you are today.

  • What were the most important lessons you learned in 2018?
  • How did you grow and evolve yourself in 2018?
  • What are some of your favorite memories from 2018?
  • How will 2019 be different from last year?

Every year is a new opportunity to become more. Instead of getting overwhelmed about all of the things that you want to change in 2019, I encourage you to just be receptive to change and open to new possibilities.

A big reason why so many people fail to follow through with their goals is that they don't go into the process with the right mindset. When they don't see progress fast enough, they quit. In my experience working with people, it appears that lack of willpower, motivation, and drive are some of the most common barriers to success.

If you convince yourself that you can't do something, eventually you will give up altogether.

In order to prevent this from happening, I encourage you to commit to resolutions that move you towards something you desire, and not away from something that you no longer want. Dr. Ellen Langer, a professor of psychology at Harvard University says that “Many people fail at their New Year’s resolutions because they don’t understand the reasons behind why they want to change.”

Take a moment and consider why you haven't lost the weight, started your online business, spent more time with family, or booked that holiday that you've been dreaming of forever. Your mind has probably come up with a million and one reasons why you haven't – too tired, too busy, too sick, etc. The list goes on and on. Whatever the excuse may be, now is the time to take responsibility for your life and make some real changes. Without a solid strategy in place for making your resolutions stick, it's easy to feel frustrated.

Let's explore 5 tips that will help keep you motivated and on track with your goals.

1. Set SMART Goals

The fact of the matter is that you won't improve your life if you don't set goals. The reason why I have been able to achieve so much success in life is that I've learned how to master the goal-setting process. A lot of people struggle to achieve their goals because they lack clarity about how to set goals in the first place.

They either set too many goals or their goals are completely unrealistic to achieve. The end result is something called false hope syndrome, which is characterized by a person’s unrealistic expectations about the likely speed, amount, ease and consequences of changing their behavior. The best way to prevent this from happening is to make your goals SMART. This is an acronym that stands for specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound. Let's break down what this looks like.

  • Specific – get clear about what it is that you want to achieve and why it's important to you.
  • Measurable – think about how you will measure and track your progress so that you stay motivated.
  • Attainable – choose a goal that is realistic to achieve based on your current situation.
  • Relevant – choose a goal that is relevant to your life.
  • Time-bound – make sure that you set a deadline for when you want your goal to be achieved by.

2. Create A Morning Ritual

A New Year is a great time to leave old habits behind. However, you cannot expect to change habits that you've been practicing for years, overnight. Did you know that forty percent of your behaviors are routinized, meaning that you do them unconsciously? This is why bad habits are so hard to break. They are deeply wired into your brain.

One of the best ways to make a resolution stick is to create a morning ritual where you engage in healthy habits on a consistent basis. A morning ritual has the power to become one of your greatest allies on the journey to achieving your goals.

In her best-selling book, Better Than Before: What I Learned About Making and Breaking Habits — to Sleep More, Quit Sugar, Procrastinate Less, and Generally Build a Happier Life, Gretchen Rubin says that “If there’s something you want to do consistently in your life – like New Year resolutions – habits can make the wear and tear on following through so much easier. They get us out of the tiresome business of making decisions and using our self-control.”

Staying committed to an empowering morning ritual will help you develop the self-discipline, good habits, and mindset that you will need to achieve your goals. Taking the time to nurture your mind, body, and soul first thing in the morning sets you up for success.

3. Get An Accountability Buddy

Having an accountability buddy is a cost-effective and extremely effective way of staying on top of your goals. Find somebody that you can trust who is looking for accountability in return. Support one another. You can do this by committing to meeting up or talking on the phone once per week or more if you are keen to make massive shifts in your life.

During your call, share 1-2 things that you want to accomplish in one or more areas of life. It's easy to let yourself down, but nobody wants to let someone else down. I think we can all agree that it's a horrible feeling, on top of the fact that it's a credibility killer.

The moment that someone is personally invested in you, you are no longer alone in your desire to succeed at something. At the end of the day, you will be more likely to take action if someone is tracking your goals and cheering you on along the way.

4. Reward Yourself For Small Wins

A lot of people tend to focus on the end game rather than enjoying the small steps that help them get to where they want to go. Your big goals aren’t going to happen overnight. This is why you need to learn how to fall in love with the process of becoming successful.

When is the last time that you celebrated yourself for a job well done? I don't think that people praise themselves enough. In our efforts to be the best, we can be so hard on ourselves in the process. Here's the thing… if you don't give yourself credit for the small wins that you make, how do you expect to stay motivated when things don't go your way?

Don't wait for the massive win to call yourself a winner. Rather, start paying attention to all the small wins that you make along the way. In the end, those are the ones that matter the most. I encourage you to set aside time every single week to reflect upon your recent achievements.

Celebrate yourself every single day. Ask yourself questions like, “What things did I do well?” or “What actions did I take that have helped me get one step closer to achieving my goals? These realizations will give you the confidence that you need to keep moving forward in the direction of your dreams.

5. Practice Self-Compassion

If you fall short on your goals, don't be hard on yourself. Instead, practice self-compassion. Nobody said that you need to be perfect. Too many people take the “all or nothing” approach when it comes to New Year's resolutions. They fixate on all of the things that they aren't doing right.

If this is you, STOP. Messing up is a part of the process of change. More importantly, it's an integral part of being human. All that matters is that you don't give up. In the words of Kristin Neff, “Unlike self-criticism, which asks if you're good enough, self-compassion asks, What's good for you?”

Not only is it a New Year, but it's also a new you.

Now is the time to transform your state, to improve different areas of your life, and to become the best possible version of yourself. A New Year should bring a feeling of freedom from all of the things that no longer serve you. Step into today with excitement and anticipation for all of the amazing things that are to come. This is your year. Make it count.

There are 7 habits that have changed my life for the better, and they can do the exact same for you.

Habits are the decisions that you make and the actions that you carry out on a daily basis. According to researchers at Duke University, habits account for about 40 percent of our behaviors on any given day.

I’m a big believer that your habits are a powerful tool for shaping your behavior and inevitably determining your success in life. Your life is the sum of your habits.

Step back and ask yourself, “Am I where I want to be?” If the answer is no, it’s time to make a change.

Watch the video below where I talk about why it's important to challenge yourself:

We all have bad habits, whether it's overeating, overspending, drinking, or gossiping. However, when bad habits prevent you from accomplishing your goals, negatively impact your relationships, or threaten your health, you know you've got a problem.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are held back in life because they fall into old, conditioned patterns of behavior. When they don’t feel good, they self-sabotage and engage in activities that make them feel worse.

Breaking bad habits can be difficult to do.

Everybody has bad habits. If we know that something is bad for us then why is it so hard to stop doing it? Simple… we are creatures of habit. A lot of our behaviors are unconscious and automatic. To our brains, it feels good to engage in them, despite the fact that it isn’t.

Our unconscious habits are what allow us to breathe, get ready for work, and feed ourselves. They are designed to make our lives a lot easier, except when we have the desire to eat doughnuts every day.

In a new study, Johns Hopkins University neuroscientists found that when people see something associated with a past reward, their brain flushes with dopamine — even if they don't realize that they are paying attention to it.

Despite these findings, I still believe that anyone can condition their brain to choose a healthier response. Where people get stuck is that they attempt to make huge changes to their routine off the get-go and then wonder why they can't stick with it.

You can't change your life overnight. Developing new habits requires discipline, patience, consistency, and commitment. However, when you take small steps every single day, new habits slowly integrate into your life.

In her book, Better Than Before: Mastering the Habit Of Our Everyday Lives, Gretchen Rubin says that, “A habit is a good servant but a bad master.”

Let's face it… if you don’t make the effort to break bad habits and learn good ones, everything in life becomes more challenging.

The question is, “How long does it take to develop a new habit?” Well, that is entirely up to you. The speed with which a habit becomes a part of your behavior is determined by how bad you want it. Sometimes people need to hit rock bottom in order to change their lives.

I've had one of these rock-bottom moments. Years ago, I was in a bad place. I had no choice but to face myself. I sat down and made a commitment that I was going to change my life, which started with breaking bad habits.

Rock bottom provided the foundation upon which I rebuilt my life. Did this change happen overnight? Absolutely not. However, I was willing to do whatever it took in order to create a more meaningful and purposeful life. That's exactly what I did.

I attribute my success to the habits that I have been practicing since I was 17 years old. Every new habit that I've adopted over the years has become a part of my identity. These habits have allowed me to transform every area of my life. In the words of Aristotle, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit.”

The following 7 habits have changed my life.

1. I Build A Positive Mindset

Your mind is a powerful thing. It can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Did you know that you are the product of your thoughts? Where you are in life today has unfolded as a result of your thoughts.

I used to live my life in a bubble of negativity. I didn't know what it meant to be positive because I had a lot of limiting beliefs about myself and the world. Here's the thing… you don't wake up one day and magically have a positive attitude. This is something that you have to work at.

It all starts with mastering your mindset.

If positivity is something you struggle with, the first step is telling yourself that you are ready for a new chapter in life. It's about becoming aware of your negative self-talk and finding more empowering beliefs to replace the ones that don't serve your highest self.

If you want to become a more positive person, you need to build habits that reinforce positivity. Engaging in activities like journaling or listening to inspiring videos are great ways to increase positive feelings. A positive mindset is a magnet for miracles. When you change your thoughts, you change your life.

2. I Develop A Morning Ritual

Discipline is one of the biggest obstacles that prevent people from achieving success in life. If you want to build habits that stick, you need to be consistent with them. The best way to do this is by developing a morning ritual.

As many of you know, I've been religiously practicing my morning ritual since I was 17 years old. It sets the tone for my entire day. How do you start your mornings?

In my opinion, there’s no worse feeling in the morning than feeling like you are in a panic to get out the door. Unfortunately, so many operate this way. If you wake up, hit the snooze button, slam a coffee, and rush out the door to work, you will feel scattered, distracted, and unproductive for the rest of the day. If you don't believe me, try it.

The morning is your time to get grounded. This looks different for everyone. Maybe it means that you meditate, read a book, listen to music, recite affirmations, hit the gym or affirm your goals in writing.

In the beginning stages, it may feel like a chore to engage in these activities. However, if you stay committed to your ritual, over time you will find yourself looking forward to it. It will become a must-do part of your everyday life.

3. I Surround Myself With High Vibe People

People have a huge impact on our lives. You won't be able to create success in life if you surround yourself with negative people. Take a look at your circle of friends and ask yourself, “Do these people empower or disempower me?”

If it's the latter, it's time to find new friends. This starts with identifying and stepping away from relationships that are lowering your energy and making you feel bad about yourself.

“Surround yourself with people who make you happy. People who make you laugh, who help you when you’re in need. People who genuinely care. They are the ones worth keeping in your life. Everyone else is just passing through.” – Karl Marx

A great way to elevate your standards and level up your life is to find people who have already achieved the results in life that you desire. Once you find these people, study their behaviors.

How do they connect with people? What does their daily routine look like? Where do they hang out? Once you've got a solid understanding of their patterns, start to mimic similar ones in your life. You could even go so far as to ask these people if they would be open to mentoring you.

4. I Invest In Myself

The fastest way to achieve a better quality of life is to invest in yourself. A lot of people shy away from doing this because they think it's a waste of time and money. In my opinion, this is just an excuse.

There are two reasons why people don't invest in themselves – they either don't believe in themselves or they don't want it bad enough. When you have the courage to do the work that forces you to grow and improve yourself, the Universe responds by giving you epic results. I have followed this formula for success and it's paid off.

I believe that the best way to make money is to become more valuable.

The way you do this is by improving yourself. Committing to being a lifelong learner will empower you to become a better version of yourself. Attend seminars, seek out coaches or mentors, read inspirational books – anything that will expand your mind and ignite your curiosity.

As Warren Buffett once said, “Nobody can take away what you've got in yourself, and everybody has potential they haven't used yet.” There is no greater gift that you can give yourself, your clients, your audience and the world at large.

5. I Build Mental Toughness

All of us encounter challenges and setbacks in life that test our strength. The difference between people who succeed versus those who don't is rooted in their ability to keep moving forward, no matter what. In simplest terms, this is a measure of one's resilience under fire.

In order to develop this skill, you need to get out of your comfort zone. It isn't until you do the unthinkable, face your fears, and take risks that you realize your true strength.

Mental toughness is developed through repetition. This is why mentally tough people flex their mindset muscle on a daily basis. Just like you go to the gym and train your muscles, you need to do the exact same thing with your mind.

Doing so will allow you to weather life's storms with grace and ease, knowing that no matter what happens, you are capable of getting through difficult times.

6. I Contribute To Others

It is true what they say – happiness is found in helping others. Contributing has always been a huge part of my life. At my core is a drive to make a difference in the world. In the past, I always gave money to charitable causes, even when I had no money.

In the last few years, I've traveled to Nicaragua and Ethiopia and built homes and schools for impoverished families and their children. To this day, philanthropy is a core aspect of my business. I don't do it to feel better about myself. Rather, I do it to be of service.

That being said, trust me when I say that there is nothing more fulfilling than knowing that you have helped someone in need. Contributing is as much about making ourselves feel good as it is about helping others, and that is OK.

The beautiful thing about contribution is that it comes in many different forms. You could donate money to a cause that you are passionate about, or volunteer your time at schools, hospitals or shelters. All that matters is that you do something.

7. I Ask Myself Powerful Questions

When we are young, we are encouraged to ask a lot of questions. This is how we learned about ourselves and the world. However, somewhere along the way we lost sight of this habit and forgot about the value of being curious.

In the book, The Miniature Guide to the Art of Asking Essential Questions, Linda Elder and Richard Paul said that “The quality of our thinking, in turn, is determined by the quality of our questions, for questions are the engine, the driving force behind the thinking.”

By asking questions like, “What does happiness mean to me?” we begin to realize that we are the creators of our lives. Life doesn't happen to us. Rather, it happens for us.

It is our responsibility to go out into the world and make something of it. By thinking this way, we become more open to new opportunities and less biased in our decision-making process. In this place, the world becomes our oyster.

These 7 habits have changed my life.

If you want to be happier, healthier, and more productive, I encourage you to start building these simple habits into your daily life. Your future self is shaped by the small actions that you take every single day.

The relationship with yourself is the most important relationship that you will ever have.

Having a healthy relationship with yourself means that you have a stable self-concept. You are comfortable in your own skin, to the point where you don't need attachment from others in order to feel whole.

Studies show that individuals who do take care of themselves and who show self-interest without selfishness are happier. When you feel good about yourself, it complements every other relationship that you have.

Self-love is the best kind of love. It allows us to connect to our soul's purpose and live the life that we want. In the words of the late, great Louise Hay, “Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives.”

Does the idea of building a relationship with yourself scare you?

If so, you aren't alone. A lot of people go to great lengths to not spend time alone because it makes them feel uncomfortable. Instead, they seek out love and attention from others in order to validate their own sense of happiness.

A recent study in the journal, Science showed that people would rather give themselves electric shocks than be alone with their thoughts for just 15 minutes. Crazy, right?

When I was a teenager, I had very low self-esteem. I was a shy, anxious kid who didn't have many friends. It's fair to say that self-love wasn't a part of my vocabulary.

After a lot of self-work, I'm proud to say that I love the relationship that I have with myself.

So much so, that I seek out as many moments as I can to be alone. Not because I'm depressed or lonely. Rather, because I love the time spent with me! I learn more about who I am and what matters to me.

More importantly, this time of quiet self-introspection fills me up so that I am able to go out into the world and help others develop a deeper connection and appreciation for themselves as well.

It is our job to wake up every day and do the work to become the best version of ourselves. One of the most effective ways that I have been able to maintain a positive relationship with myself is through my morning ritual. It makes me feel calm, confident and connected to my authentic self. I use the mornings to check-in with myself and nurture what is important to me.

I encourage you to practice self-care and to make it a priority, rather than a luxury. If you don't take care of yourself, then you can't expect to take care of anyone else; whether that's your partner, your children, your clients or your customers.

Are you ready to improve the relationship with yourself?

Nobody else is going to complete you. Happiness is an inside job that is only achieved by way of our own personal growth and development. Give yourself the love that you so freely give to everyone else because you deserve it. How will you show up for yourself today? In the words of Tony Robbins, “If you don't have 10 f—ing minutes for your life, you don't have a life.”

Hard times are a normal part of life. When you get hit with them, you can either fall down or rise up.

Everyone experiences highs and lows. However, some people cope better than others. In studies of people facing trauma, many describe their experience as a catalyst for profound change and transformation, leading to a phenomenon known as ‘post-traumatic growth.'

The most successful people in this world are those that have known defeat. They have been at rock bottom and have been able to make their way out of the depths of their own despair. These people were not born with this skill. Rather, they developed it over time. In doing so, they developed a greater appreciation for life.

Are you ready to learn how you can boost your resilience during hard times and come back stronger than ever before? As the old Japanese proverb states, “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”

Hard times are the key to a happy and healthy life.

This sounds counterintuitive, doesn't it? Not according to science. Recent research indicates that psychological flexibility is the key to greater happiness and well-being. For example, being open to emotional experiences and the ability to tolerate periods of discomfort can allow us to move towards a richer, more meaningful existence.

Sure, it's easy to feel like giving up when the world continues to throw you challenges. That being said, it's up to you how you are going to respond to life's setbacks. Struggling is a choice.

One of my favorite quotes about strength in hard times is by Joel Osteen, who said – “When you face difficult times, know that challenges aren't sent to destroy you. They're sent to increase and challenge you.”

If you are going through a difficult time in your life right now, I want you to know that you aren't alone. I've been there. We all have. I know what it feels like when your entire world turns upside down and you don't know where to turn.

I won't begin to claim that I understand your pain, because everyone has a different life story. That being said, I can share with you the knowledge that I have learned from my own experiences. I made it through the hard times in my life and so can you. You are still standing and there is a reason for that. Sometimes we all need a friendly reminder of how strong we really are.

Here are 5 ways that you can thrive through the hard times.

1. Accept That Hard Times Will Happen

Why is it so hard to accept that hard times are a part of life? Well, it's usually because our ego tells us that everything should be perfect. If life doesn't go our way, then we assume that there must be something wrong with us.

In her book, Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow, Elizabeth Lesser says that “When we resist change and loss, we bring more pain onto ourselves. We become hardened, angry, resentful.”

Accepting something doesn't mean that you have to like it. Rather, it simply means that you have made the choice to stop resisting it. Instead of forcing an outcome, you let go of control and embrace what is.

Randy Pausch is a shining example of this idea. Randy was a leading professor at Carnegie Mellon, a husband, and a father of 3. In 2007, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The doctors only gave him a few months to live. Instead of curling in a ball and giving up, he decided to accept his illness and live out his remaining time on earth in a positive and purposeful way.

In the words of Randy himself – “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”

If you have yet to watch his Last Lecture, I encourage you to do so.

2. Be Proactive

When hard times hit, it's the proactive people that are able to get through challenges with grace and ease. They don't allow struggles to define who they are because they refuse to be defeated. Nobody said that life would be a walk in the park. However, many of us are ill-prepared from an early age to get through hard times.

I know what rock bottom feels like. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. It was the beginning of me questioning everything that I ever thought was true.  I was faced, head on, with the disempowering belief systems that were keeping me locked away from living my life to the fullest.

Sometimes we need to hit our emotional threshold in order to light a fire under our butts and change our lives for the better. Every struggle in my life has shaped me into the person that I am today. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, but you've got to find it. Don't you want to become the CEO of your life?

Nobody is going to fix your problems for you. Rather, you need to take action and create the change that you want to see. You can learn about all the strategies in the world for getting through hard times, but none of them will matter unless you actually apply them in your life.

3. Have Faith

Hard times can challenge our faith if we allow them to. Hard times are, in actuality, hard. That being said, how we choose to approach these moments in our lives ends up determining whether or not we merely survive or thrive through life. Having an unshakeable faith in our strength is the answer, and it starts with gratitude.

Numerous studies have proven that when you adopt an attitude of gratitude, you are a happier person. However, when people are trying to get through the hard times, they usually don't reflect upon how grateful they are. Why?

Because challenges don't feel good. I get it. However, if you only rely on your anger and frustration to get you through the bad times, you won't do yourself any good. This mindset will only get you stuck in a negative spiral that will feel impossible to get out of. When we feel sorry for ourselves, we become a victim of our circumstances. This is no way to live.

Have you ever had an experience in life where something didn’t work out, but as a result, something better came from it? When you believe that everything is a blessing in disguise, that's exactly what the Universe gives to you. By adopting this positive perspective on life, it motivates you to view every challenge as an opportunity to grow and become more. Have faith that in yourself and in a better tomorrow. That alone will make the invisible, visible.

Nicole Reed said it best – “Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us.”

4. Focus on What You Can Control

If you think that you can control everything in your life, you are setting yourself up for failure. The harsh reality is that you have zero control over many of the things that happen in life. This is where people get into trouble. They think that if they can gain enough control over people or a situation, then they can prevent hard times from happening.

This is far from true.

When you are going through hard times, the natural response is to try and fix whatever it is that feels bad. However, the longer that you linger here, the more helpless that you will feel. We tend to forget that the only thing that we have control over is our inner world. It is your reaction to life that matters most. Two different people could experience the exact same challenge but have a drastically different response to it.

Attitude is everything. Hard times will happen throughout your life, but it is up to you how you will interpret them. You are always in control of your emotions, no matter how difficult the situation may be or feel. When you are able to change your reaction to people and events, don't be surprised if you see a massive shift take place in every area of your life.

5. Develop A Morning Ritual

Ever since I was 17 years old I've committed to a morning ritual. It is the most important part of my entire day because it is the time at which I prime myself for success. By conditioning my mindset, I am prepared to tackle whatever challenges may come my way. You may be wondering, “How is this possible?”

Well, when you take the time to engage in rituals like reciting positive affirmations or doing a meditation practice, you feel more positive and calm. When hard times hit, you are more equipped to handle them because you have done the work to master your emotional state.

Sure, some days I wouldn't mind sleeping in an extra hour, but I have committed to not getting caught up in these moments of pleasure because I know how good I feel when I stick with my routine. It helps to put me into an optimal state of mind. When I'm energized, focused and inspired, I feel unstoppable. It's as simple as that.

I'm not saying that I don't get frustrated when challenges occur. However, every time that I engage in my routine, I am making subtle mental and emotional shifts in how I think about life and hard times. As a result, when the shit hits the fan, I am prepared. Instead of freaking out, I make choices and decisions that serve my highest self.

I hope these words of encouragement for hard times have inspired you to keep moving forward.

We all face hard times. Ultimately, we all become stronger and wiser as a result. It comes down to adopting a positive mindset through every challenge that you face in life. Will it be easy? No. When we face difficulties, it's easy to get sucked into a negativity trap. However, this is the moment at which you need to believe in yourself and search for solutions that will allow you to weather the storm and come out the other side, happier and healthier.

In his final Rocky movie, Sylver Stallone says, “The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. But it ain’t how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It’s how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.”

If you want to learn more about how you can become the master of your life, check out my Life Mastery Accelerator program.

Whatever you are going through, never forget that don't hard times don't last. This too shall pass and the skies will shine again. Until then, pull upon your inner strength and trust that you have everything inside of you in order to get through the hard times. You are stronger than you know.

I want you to master your health and energy because I know that anything that you want to create in life will require that you do so.

You need to attack everything in life with energy, whether that's building a business, crushing your goals, or creating a great relationship. There is no such thing as perfect health. We all falter from time to time. However, we can create healthy habits that ensure that we function at an optimal level of wellness every single day.

I believe that mastery is the highest form of intelligence. It is what sets successful people apart from everyone else. When you commit to it, anything is possible. Where people get stuck, is that they fail to realize that mastery is a process. If you force it, you will only be left feeling like a failure.

The biggest challenge to mastering our health and energy is our minds. If we perceive ourselves as powerless to change, then we won't. Be kind to yourself. Someone once said, “You're not going to master the rest of your life in one day. Just relax. Master the day. Then just keep doing that every day.”

Are you ready to learn 3 reasons why you MUST master your health and energy?

A lot of people don't understand why you MUST master your health and energy.

There is a stigma that exists that being healthy has to be hard. This is far from true! The challenge that a lot of people face is learning how to break bad habits. Science shows us that our taste buds have been genetically engineered to crave high-calorie, high-fat foods. This isn't an excuse, but it doesn't provide some validation as to why our bodies crave bad stuff.

Sit back and ask yourself, “Am I living a healthy life?” If your answer is no, then it's time to do something different. Until we are willing to accept our reality, it can be hard to change it. Our health is so important. However, a lot of people tend to not think about it until something really bad happens. This reactive mode of behavior doesn't serve anybody.

If you only live for short-term gratification but don't think about the long-term effects of how you are treating your body, it will catch up with you. Chuck Pagano said it best – “If you don't have your health, you don't have anything.”

Here are 3 reasons why you MUST master your health and energy.

1. To Avoid Disease And Illness

Unfortunately, a lot of people live a lifestyle that will eventually lead to a disease or illness. A U.S. National Health and Nutrition Survey found that 97.3 percent of American adults get a failing grade on healthy lifestyle habits. This research shows that preventing deaths through promoting healthy eating habits is of utmost importance in today's world.

This is why my health is my top priority. I'm all about engaging in preventative measures because getting sick is not an option. If I cant work for 5 days, I end up losing a lot of money. It's as simple as that. Whenever I engage in healthy habits I'm always thinking about my mission, vision, and values for my business and my life.

When it comes to putting food into your body, always choose a healthy option. This means getting a well-balanced diet and cutting out anything that is toxic to your body. You are the only person that controls what goes into your body, so choose wisely. In the words of Bob Wright, the Founder of American Anti-Cancer Institute,  “No doctor has ever healed anyone of anything in the history of the world. The human immune system heals and that’s the only thing that heals.”

2. To Achieve Your Goals

If you want to achieve your goals in life, then you have to program yourself to be an energy-generating machine. The most successful people in the world all have one thing in common – an insane amount of energy. It's fair to say that energy is everything. It starts and ends with you.

The reason why a lot of people do not achieve their goals is that they lack the drive to make them happen. More often than not, lack of drive comes from lack of energy. Have you ever tried showing up for anything or anyone when you don't' have energy?

When we don't take care of our health, every day can feel like a grind, which can negatively affect our mental and emotional state. In this place, overcoming a setback of any kind can be challenging.

I know that the vision that I have for my life is not going to happen if I don't have an optimal level of energy. In their book, What's Best Next: How the Gospel Transforms the Way You Get Things Done, authors Matthew and John Piper say that “Being able to do the things that energize you is not the luxury you get to have once you’ve been successful. Rather, it’s the way to become successful. For you will work harder, longer, and with more diligence at things you love to do over things you dislike to do.” Are you energized to crush your goals?

3. To Thrive Through Life, Not Just Survive

Do you want to survive life? Or thrive through life? We aren't meant to merely exist. Life is meant to be lived, fully and wholeheartedly. If you don't feel like you are functioning at your optimal level of health, there is no better time than today to make a change.

You know that you are ready to thrive when you have the desire to let go of some unhealthy habit that is longer serving your highest self. Just reading this blog post shows that you want to change something about your life!

Take small steps every day to start your journey towards thriving, and remember to treat yourself with the kindness and self-compassion along the way. You don't have to trudge your way through life. You can experience an optimal level of health and energy, to the point at which you feel unstoppable and high on life. Nothing tastes as good as healthy and fit feels.

In the words of Maya Angelou – “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”

Are you ready to master your health and energy?

It's not enough to want it. None of the above strategies will work if you don't start applying them every single day. If you want to learn how to master your health and take your energy to the next level, I encourage you to check out my Life Mastery Accelerator program. Inside that program, I have a valuable health and energy training video that I'm sure you will benefit from.

You get what you want in life by committing to raising your standards. What bad habit can you drop today that will allow you to feel happier, healthier and more energized?

Do you ever struggle with self-doubt? If so, it’s time to boost your self esteem.

Self esteem is comprised of the thoughts, beliefs, and feelings that we hold about ourselves. We've all experienced low esteem at some point in our lives.

As human beings, it's normal to experience a range of positive and negative emotions. However, if we allow negative thoughts to control us, they can adversely affect our beliefs about who we are and what we are capable of.

Studies have shown that the majority of the world's issues may be traced to a single core cause – low self esteem. Negative emotions, like envy, jealousy, reaction, fear and anger stem from having a poor image of ourselves. Nobody wants to live this way.

This is why it’s so important that we actively build and cultivate our self esteem on a daily basis. When you have a strong belief in who you are, anything is possible. In the words of Caroline Myss, “How would your life change if your self esteem improved?” It starts and ends with you.

Do you want to boost your self esteem, but don't know how to do it?

It’s important for you to understand that none of us were born with low self esteem. Many of the beliefs that we have about ourselves were conditioned by the environment that we grew up in. These early observations and experiences shaped our self-concept.

The great news is that you have the power to change your beliefs! When you think empowering thoughts, empowering actions will follow. You are what you believe, so let me ask you… do you believe that you have what it takes to achieve massive success in life? If not, it's time to boost your self esteem.

Here are 5 ways to create more empowering beliefs.

1. Take Action

You can consume all the knowledge in the world, but if you never take action, that knowledge is useless. Knowledge by itself isn't going to change your life. Rather, it’s what you do with it that really matters.

When you take action every day, you naturally feel good about yourself. It gives you the momentum that you need in order to crush your day, especially when you do something right. In turn, these feel-good feelings motivate you to engage in more challenging things, which create more high vibe feelings. It's a win-win.

Conversely, if you avoid doing something or cut corners in life, it will only serve to lower your self esteem. The more that you get into the habit of taking action in every aspect of your life, the more that your self esteem will increase.

When it comes to taking action, it’s the little things that matter most. Take good care of yourself by engaging in simple morning rituals, like making your bed, reciting positive affirmations, and exercising. These small habits shape your character, which in turn, shape your destiny. Before you know it, you will be unstoppable. As Emily Dickinson once said, “If you take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves.”

2. Being Authentic and Honest

Have you ever felt like shit, but told someone that you felt great? Sometimes lying happens unconsciously. When this occurs, we may not even be fully aware that we are doing it.

We’ve all been guilty of lying at some point in our lives. However, when it becomes a negative habit, we need to go deeper and understand why we are lying. What are the triggers that make us feel the need to lie? If you don’t express who you are and how you are feeling at a given moment, then you aren’t being real with other people.

Have you ever wondered what motivates people to lie? According to Psychology Today, people engage in two types of lies – self-serving lies and kind-hearted lies. The former is meant to help the person telling the lie to look better than they may feel. The latter is meant to protect someone else's feelings in a genuine manner, despite the fact that it's being done through telling a lie.

I wanted to understand the psychology of addictions on a much deeper level so I decided to read the book, Rewired: A Bold New Approach To Addiction and Recovery. In her book, Erica Spiegelman talks about how many people who struggle with addictions have low levels of self esteem, which stems from living their lives in a dishonest way.

She says, “Lying of any kind lowers our self esteem. We are reinforcing our feelings of inadequacy every time we try to make ourselves look and sound just a little bit better than we think we are. A truly confident person at peace with him or herself does not need to reach for this crutch.”

In today’s digital world, it’s easy to live an inauthentic life. It’s almost accepted as normal. People exaggerate who they are, in an effort to make it look as if their life is better than it is. Social media has brought lying to a whole new level. National Geographic noted that “Our ability as a society to separate truth from lies is under unprecedented threat.”

Be honest with yourself – are you living an inauthentic life?

If you have created a habit of lying, the first course of action towards being more authentic and honest is to shift your mindset. One way that I have been able to boost my self esteem is by looking at all of the different areas of my life that I’ve been inauthentic, and start the process of practicing pure honesty.

We all have an authentic inner voice that tells us when we aren’t being honest. When you lie, you are the only one that suffers. Why? Because it only lowers your self esteem.

People who are totally comfortable and confident in their own skin don’t feel the need to lie. Be okay with expressing the truth, as hard as it may be. It will allow you to boost your self esteem. It may require that you drop your ego, swallow your pride, apologize and be vulnerable, but it will be worth it because internally you will feel better about yourself.

3. Recite Affirmations

The words that we say to ourselves impact our self esteem. I believe that who we are at our core is someone that is truly happy, confident, and fulfilled. If we you have low self esteem, it may be the result of negative conditioning and programming from your environment, which has caused you to create negative meanings from those experiences.

Oftentimes, we end up believing negative things about ourselves because we’ve repeated them, over and over again. Over time, we accept that this as who we are. If you say that you can’t do something, then eventually you are going to believe that to be true.

The solution is to recite affirmations. Create a morning ritual, where you wake up every day and create intentions for your life. By declaring and repeating affirmations out loud to yourself, you are boosting your self esteem. Phrases like, I love myself, I am confident, I believe in myself, and I deserve happiness, are all true. You aren't lying to yourself when you say these things. Rather, you are speaking the truth about who you really are.

Research shows that reciting these beliefs works because the increased repetition of certain thought patterns conditions our brains to begin thinking in these new, more empowering ways.

4. Contribute

Low self esteem can stem from us obsessing too much about our own lives. When you step outside of yourself and contribute to something that is greater than yourself, whether that's giving to a charity or volunteering your time, it does amazing things for your self esteem. It makes you feel grateful and appreciative for the life that you have.

I get addicted to the feeling of making a difference in the world because I've been witness to the impact that my contribution efforts have made on the lives of others. More than that, I know that what I am doing is right, because it is aligned with my values in life. I know that I am a good person. What I've given, nobody can ever take that away from me.

I'm involved in a lot of philanthropy work.

I've traveled to El Salvador and Nicaragua and paid for and physically built a house for a poverty-stricken family. Meeting the families whose homes I built, and having them share with me how my contribution changed their life drastically boosted my self esteem.

Last year I went to Ethiopia, where I was lucky enough to be a part of a school inauguration. While I was there, they honored me and others who helped build schools for children. It was one of the most powerful experiences I've ever had. Knowing how much you mean to someone’s life is very overwhelming and humbling at the same time.

5. Do What Is Right

I believe that we all have a moral compass. At our core, we know the difference between right and wrong. That being said, doing what is right can be a tough decision for a lot of people. Oftentimes we are better at giving advice than we are at following it.

However, the right thing always produces the best results. Sure, When we choose the wrong thing, we may feel less pain in the short term, but our self esteem will suffer more in the long term.

I have a friend who went to prison a number of years ago for stealing. Since then, he's changed his life. I remember asking him, “When you were involved in these criminal acts you found a way to justify it and make it right, but deep down inside, did you know that what you were doing was wrong?”

He said, “Yes, of course. When you are doing things that are wrong, you find ways to rationalize why you are doing them.”

When you don’t do the right thing, it's like sending a message out to the Universe that says, “I’m not authentic.” That message creates a feeling of emptiness inside of us because we have let ourselves and others down. I encourage you to trust your intuition more and do what is right on a consistent basis.

These are 5 tried and tested ways to boost your self esteem.

If you think that your low self-esteem is negatively impacting your life, I encourage you to implement one of these 5 strategies into your day. When you train your brain to look for the good, you start feeling good about yourself.

Self esteem is being able to look in the mirror and be happy with the reflection that is starting back at you. Only you know the truth. Be proactive and focus on becoming a better version of yourself every day. When you do, it will transform every area of your life.
