Is entrepreneurship right for you?

Maybe you're thinking about quitting your 9 to 5 job and becoming an entrepreneur.

Or maybe you've had an online business for a few years now and you're contemplating changing your career altogether.

Wherever you are right now, I want to help you get clarity on whether or not being an entrepreneur is the right path for you.

Entrepreneurship is 80% psychology and 20% skill, meaning that it takes a certain type of mindset to become a successful entrepreneur.

The entrepreneurial advice that I'm about to give you will help you make a decision once and for all…

I've been an entrepreneur for over a decade now.

Over the years, I've observed a lot of people who have made attempts to become entrepreneurs. Many of them have either given up because they found it to be too hard, or they came to accept that it just wasn't for them.

While I believe that everybody is capable of becoming a successful entrepreneur, not everybody is willing to go down that path. It's not a matter of “can you”. Rather, it's a matter of “will you”. Success isn't about ability; it's about mindset.

Successful entrepreneurs possess a mental blueprint, comprised of similar character traits, habits, and belief systems. Some people are natural-born entrepreneurs. However, everything you need to be a good entrepreneur — experience, grit, luck, discipline, knowledge, etc. — you can earn for yourself.

Anybody can alter their belief systems and change their lives for the better by committing to personal growth. I am an example of someone who did this. When I first started on my self-development journey, I was depressed, shy, lazy, and negative. I didn't have an empowering bone in my body.

However, through self-development, I was able to change every area of my life. In turn, I ended up overcoming some of my greatest challenges, one of which was crippling social anxiety. I had the motivation to tap into my potential. Self-development made me believe that I could become more. I knew that anything was possible if I just believed in myself.

That's what I did. Fast forward to today and I have gone on to become a successful 7-figure entrepreneur. I am a coach, a motivational speaker, a content creator, and an influencer who has over one million subscribers on YouTube. I'm not telling you this because I think I'm special.

I was just willing to do what was hard.

The vision that I had for my life trumped any obstacle that I faced along my journey to success. If you have yet to cultivate the skills that are required to become a successful entrepreneur, ask yourself… do you have the motivation to learn these skills?

I see a lot of people dive into the world of entrepreneurship thinking that it's easier than a 9 to 5 job. As someone who has been both an employee and an entrepreneur, I can say for certain that this is far from true. A lot of people want success. However, they aren't willing to make the necessary changes within themselves to create success.

There are pros and cons of being an entrepreneur. The pros being that you can be your own boss, make passive income, retire early, travel the world, and live the laptop lifestyle, to name a few things. The cons include working harder than ever before and making sacrifices to build your business the right way.

There is always some level of risk and uncertainty involved with being an entrepreneur. The business world is constantly changing, which means that you have to constantly make sure that you are on top of your game.

At the end of the day, what will determine whether or not you decide to become an entrepreneur is if you decide that the pros are greater than the cons.

I decided that it was worth it, which meant that I was willing to do anything and everything to become successful. Are you willing to embrace the cons in the short-term to create your dream life?

You won't know the answer to this question until you start a business.

If you're still not sure if you should become an entrepreneur, I encourage you to reflect upon what your nature is. This is something that I learned from Tony Robbins. He believes that there are three different business natures or identities.

The first nature is the artist. This is someone who is very creative and who has a specific skill set. An example would be an actor or a musician.

The second nature is the entrepreneur. This is someone who is a risk-taker and an innovator. They create something new from scratch. In effect, the entrepreneur loves to create a start-up and build systems that come with scaling a business.

The third nature is the manager/leader. This is someone who loves to build a team and manage people. They motivate and inspire people to follow in their vision. Also, they can easily hire and fire.

Keep in mind that you can embody all three of these natures. However, there will be one that you will relate to more. Which nature is that for you? The best advice that I can give you is to commit to working on your true nature.  Once you know who you are and what your strengths and weaknesses are, there is no limit to how much you can achieve in life.

Are you ready to dive into the world of entrepreneurship?

You'll never really know if this path is right for you unless you take action and give it a shot. Check out my Online Business Mastery YouTube playlist for my best tips and strategies on how to start an online business.

If you're willing to not give up, I truly believe that you can be, do, and have anything. At the end of the day, all that matters is that you are happy and that you find your mission in life. Stay patient and trust the journey, no matter what path you take.

Your purpose isn't something you find.

Rather, it's something that you uncover and build through a process of self-discovery. In effect, your purpose is calling on you to step into your power. However, here's the catch… you cannot ‘think' your purpose into existence. Your “why” is something that can only be felt with your heart.

Once you commit to self-expansion and growth, you open the door to new opportunities. That is the space wherein which you will find the thing that makes you come alive inside. Let's talk about 3 things that can give you clarity about what you want in life.

1. Release the expectation that you have to have it all figured out.

The career path that you've chosen isn't the one that you have to follow for the rest of your life. You're not expected to have everything figured out. It's naive to assume that. Nobody has it all figured out! It's just not realistic.

When life changes, you have to adapt and change with it. Unfortunately, our society puts a lot of pressure on us from an early age to know exactly what our career path is going to be. As a result, a lot of people feel rushed and choose something random for the sake of choosing. Even worse, they choose someone else's path, at the expense of their goals and dreams.

If you've hit a point in your career where you are no longer passionate about what you're doing, that's OK. Instead of putting your head in the sand and thinking that there's no way out, remember that these are golden opportunities to pivot. Take the time to reevaluate your strengths, interests, and skills.

A lot of people have been forced to make a shift in the direction of their careers as a result of the COVID pandemic. While it may feel uncomfortable and create some level of fear, it can also be exciting. It's all a matter of perspective.

As you get older and your life changes, so too will your needs, values, and priorities. In your 20s and 30s, you may be more driven by success and money, whereas in your 40s and 50s you may value your time and freedom more. A shift in values will always lead you down a different path in life. Embrace the shift.

2. Ask yourself questions and journal about what's important to you in a career.

What are your core life values? What is important to you? Freedom is important to me. In particular, to do what I want when I want. Other people don't necessarily value freedom. For them, it may be financial security. Having a consistent paycheck that they can rely on every two weeks makes them feel grounded.

When I was in my early 20s, I didn't have the fear of taking risks. I was willing to do whatever it took to create financial freedom, be my own boss, and build my dream lifestyle. This is why being an entrepreneur was so attractive to me. Take out a journal and reflect on what you want in life.

Connect with your mission and vision. Write it out, feel into it, and recite it out loud. Once you know where you want to go, you can start devising a plan for getting there. Too often, many people doubt themselves because they don’t think they’re ready to begin moving in the direction of what they want to accomplish.

News flash… “ready” is a lie. You'll never be ready for anything. There will never be a perfect time to start, so the best thing you can do is dive in, feel the fear, and do it anyway.

3. Try different things.

When was the last time that you tried something new? You won't achieve big things by playing small. It's a fact. You'll never know what your true path in life is until you get your feet wet and gain experience. The more things that you try, the closer that you'll get to your purpose.

It's only through trial and error do you figure out what you like and don't like. Yes, the act of stepping outside of your comfort zone can be terrifying. A lot of people allow their fear of the unknown to stop them from trying anything.

Trying new things and embracing failure is the very thing that will help you eliminate your fears altogether. More importantly, it will allow you to expand your mind and become a student of life.

Keep in mind that nobody is asking you to be perfect, so be willing to suck. When you experience the buffet of life, you will naturally grow into your purpose. Don't rush it. Trust the process, take action, and whatever you do, don't quit.

Are you ready to find your purpose in life?

If you want to live a life of happiness, success, and fulfillment you must live a purpose-driven life. Choose a path, give it a chance, and then decide if it aligns with who you are and what you value.

In the words of Dr. Steve Maraboli, “You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.” The world is waiting for your gifts. It's time to stop holding back and start stepping into your power.

Quitting your job is risky.

However, it's also extremely empowering, especially if you are unhappy and ready to create a new chapter in your life. A lot of people get disillusioned with the false hopes that the rat race provides. They get trapped in a never-ending cycle of working and paying bills, but are never able to get ahead.

The problem with the rat race is that there's no finish line. You just go in circles, hoping for a different result every single time, but never get it. Not surprisingly, this way of life creates a lot of pain and suffering for people.

For those of you who are ready to quit your job and escape this lifestyle, I want to offer two different approaches that you can take. Ninety nine percent of people will follow one approach, while the other one percent will follow the other. No matter what path you decide to take, all that matters is that you are ready to take action and create a life that makes you come alive inside.

Approach #1

I quit my job when I was 21 years old to pursue my dreams of building an online business. Up until that point, I was working for my dad's family business building limestone fireplaces. I worked this job for a few years. I did not enjoy working with my family. My dad and I would argue all the time. Nothing was ever good enough.

There was an opportunity for me to take over the family business, but deep down inside I knew that it wasn't my purpose in life. I knew that if I did that job for the rest of my life I would have felt like I settled. I didn't want to live a life of regret. This is why I decided to start my own business.

At the time, I didn't know anything about business. Luckily, when I was 17 years old, I got into the self-development world. I started to change everything about myself. By transforming my life, I started to create more opportunities for myself.

At 21 years old, I started a business called Lifestyle Transformations.

It was a dating and life coaching business. My vision was to help men build their confidence and self-esteem so that they could attract a partner into their life. I didn't know anything about business or marketing when I started. However, I had a passion to help people and I believed that I would make it work.

I quit my job and pursued that goal, full-time without a website, clients or customers. That being said, I did save some money which covered me for two months. My purpose was strong enough that I was willing to do anything to make my dreams come true.

For most people, this is not the best approach. However, at that stage of my life, it was for me. The pressure motivated me and forced me to become resourceful and figure things out. I read every book, did online courses, and attended every single event. At times, I even approached strangers on the street and tried to convince them to attend my seminars. Even though my approach worked out for me, it wouldn't work for the majority of people.

Approach #2

The second approach that I am going to share is the smarter and safer strategy when it comes to quitting your job. It is probably what I would do today, especially if I had kids, a family, and other responsibilities.

You need to know what your risk threshold is before quitting.

At 21 years old, I didn't have anything to lose so I was okay with taking a big risk. If you aspire to start your own business, I first recommend that you set a date in your calendar when you're going to quit your job. That deadline will create a sense of urgency for you. This means that you've got to be prepared to the best of your ability, so that when you do decide to quit, you will have set yourself up to succeed.

Secondly, you need to make sure that you have money put aside. I recommend creating an emergeny fund, which is 3-6 months of whatever your existing income is per month. Let's be honest… there is a risk in quitting your job. An online business won't make you money right away.

That's why you need some financial security so that you can dip into some savings if you need to. This will give you peace of mind while you are pursuing your dreams. You've got to expect the best but still, plan for the worst. Sometimes life will hit you with curveballs.

Plan for this so that your business doesn't crash and burn.

Third, don't quit your job and start your online business full time until your business is established enough that you are able to pay for all of your expenses. Let's say that you need to make $3,000 per month. This means that your business needs to be producing $3,000 per month consistently.

A lot of people quit their jobs too early. Having an online business isn't like having a 9-5 job. You don't get paid the same amount of money every month. Some months will be better than others. This is why your business needs to have some maturity behind it. The more time that you have to establish your business, the more certain that you will be that it can support you financially.

This is how to quit your job, even if you're scared out of your mind.

If you're struggling to make the decision to quit, I encourage you to envision what your life will look like if you don't quit. Let that pain be the driving force that inspires you to dive into the unknown and start creating the life that you've always dreamed of.

I'm losing my job and I'm scared.”

One of the members in my Life Mastery Accelerator program recently shared this fear with me.

First and foremost, I want this person to know that this is a totally normal reaction to have, especially if you've been working with a company for a long period of time.

That being said, I believe that everything happens for a reason.

Are you ready to hear my advice on how to deal with this situation?

“I'm losing my job and I'm scared.”

Let's not sugarcoat it… losing your job is not a good feeling. However, it doesn't have to be the end of the world. Behind every challenge, there is always a lesson to be learned. In this blog, I would like to personally address my response to the person who is struggling with this very issue.

First and foremost, when you work for a company, it is a separate entity to yourself. This means that the owners of the company will always do what is best for them. At the end of the day, the goal of every company is to grow and make more money.

The reality is that your company has hired you to help support their mission. Therefore, if you're not contributing to that mission at a high enough standard, you will be expendable. If they are paying you a certain amount of money, but in their eyes you are underperforming, they will hire someone else. I know that sounds harsh but it's just how the business world works.

If you want to get paid more, you need to become more valuable. It's possible that you got demoted because you weren't adding enough value. You cannot blame others for this reality or create a feel-good story to lessen the blow.

Rather, get to the core of the truth.

This could be a tipping point in your life if you decide to use failure as a motivation to grow. It's actually a blessing in disguise. If being a salesperson is what you love to do, master it! Go through sales training, read books, attend seminars. Do whatever it takes.

When life knocks you down, you've got to get back up again and keep moving forward. The same thing goes with the world of sales. It can be a cut-throat industry. You've got to keep dialing and change your approach, no matter how many people hang up on you.

If you haven't already, I suggest that you watch the movie, The Pursuit of Happiness for a healthy dose of motivation. The main character, Chris Gardner, worked tirelessly to squeeze some extra minutes into each of his cold calling attempts. As a result, he got rewarded more than his peers did.

Eventually, technology and automation are going to eliminate huge amounts of jobs. Experts believe that almost a third of the global workforce will be automated by 2030. It's fair to say that, if you aren't preparing for this shift, you will get left behind.

In the words of Charles Darwin, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.”

You've got to work harder on yourself than you do on anything else. Are you hungry and committed to grow and do whatever it takes to become more in your sales role? Now is the time to step up and produce!

This is my advice for anyone who is fearful of losing their job.

Life will constantly throw you curve balls. However, it's up to you how you choose to react to them. The world is ever-changing, and that includes your work. You may not see it now, but sometimes the threat of unemployment is the exact thing that leads to bigger and better opportunities.

The secret to success is aligning your mission with your nature. Your nature is your “go to” disposition; it’s the skin that you are most comfortable in.

We tend to categorize ourselves as being either introverted or extroverted. In many ways, our fast-paced, social world was designed for extroverts to thrive, leaving introverts, who prefer solitude and quiet introspection, to fend for themselves.

In her book, The Introvert Advantage: How to Thrive in an Extrovert World, Marti Olsen Laney points out, “What's an introvert to do in such a hostile environment?”

What is your nature? One is not better than the other. It all comes down to your unique personality type. When you know where your strengths lie, aligning your mission with your nature is easy.

Watch the video below:

The reality is that few of us fit into either of these personality types. Yes, it is possible to be express qualities of both types, otherwise known as “ambiverts.”

Personality psychologist Brian Little, author of Me, Myself and Us: The Science of Personality and the Art of Well-Being argues that ambiverts are able to draw from the strengths of both personality types, and in doing so, have more freedom to shape their lives.

Each personality type has skills that anyone can learn. For example, by nature, I am an introvert, but I have learned extrovert skills.

However, if you take someone whose nature is not aligned with their mission, the likelihood of them sticking with it long-term is unlikely. Why? Because they will never be fulfilled in life.

For example, can an introvert be successful in a sales position? Of course. Anyone can do anything that they set their mind to, however, will they excel at it over the long-term? Probably not.

When it comes to a personal mission, some people are born knowing what it is that they are meant to do, while others figure it out over time. What is my mission in life? This is a question that we ask of ourselves in the process of discovering our ‘why’.

The first step in discovering your mission in life is to have an awareness of the characteristics that define your unique nature.

Each of us is different, based on our individual personalities. In order to thrive in your life and work, you need to tap into your strengths and find environments that allow you to leverage them.

Your strengths are the things that you do effortlessly. If money didn’t matter, what would you do with your time? When you know what you excel at, it can help you create the most effective path to aligning your mission with your nature.

Instead of overwhelming yourself with the question, “Who am I?”, ask yourself, “Which environments bring out my best qualities?”

At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter if you’re an introvert, extrovert, or someone in-between. All that matters is that you are aligning your mission with your nature. In the words of Oprah Winfrey, “Align your personality with your purpose, and no one can touch you.”

3 Benefits Of Minimalism That Extend To All Areas of Life https://projectlifemastery.com/benefits-of-minimalism/ https://projectlifemastery.com/benefits-of-minimalism/#comments Tue, 12 Sep 2017 14:00:04 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=6742 Minimalism is a way of life rooted in simplicity. The post 3 Benefits Of Minimalism That Extend To All Areas of Life appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

]]>

I would like to share 3 benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life. Through life's ups and downs, it is important that we remember to take the time to enjoy the simple things in life. We need to be grateful for what we have, and focus on finding meaning in our lives.

Life is meant to be enjoyed, not filled with stress and frustration. Minimalism is a state of being, a simple approach to life, that can help us do more with less.  In the words of Vernon Howard, “You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.”

That is why I wanted to invite Will Chou, the founder of Will You Laugh, a self-development blog that focuses on the secrets to success, to write a guest post to talk about 3 benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life.

Take it away, Will!

When I first discovered minimalism, I was a mess of a person and I thought it was stupid. But everything has changed now.  To explain my change of opinion, we have to go back to the beginning. When I first discovered minimalism, I really wanted to travel the world for a living.

At the time, I was disillusioned with my career paths and confused about my future. I was struggling to find work I could enjoy and the job opportunities that I was offered, sucked. To put it simply, like many Millennials, I had chosen a tough college major that I loved (pre-med Biology) but realized too late that it wasn’t my passion (after graduation).

My days of despair led me to seek escapism on the Internet. I discovered a large group of online bloggers that had a huge following and who called themselves, “travel hackers.”

Essentially, they would travel to exotic places for a living and make their living by “hacking life.” They were able to achieve a level of financial freedom that most people would envy. At first, I wasn't sold on this whole idea of minimalism, but that soon changed. Today, I want to share with you the three benefits of minimalism that extend to all areas of life:

1. You Will Stay Organized and Clean

I had always been a messy person. Despite my best efforts to stay clean, my room would quickly morph into a mess of junk. To put it simply, the more items you have, the more opportunity it is for it to make you feel and appear messy.

When you only have a couple of items on your desk, it’s never going to look that messy no matter how long you delay cleaning it up. It’s shocking how few people understand or use this habit. Nowadays, I have applied this minimalist philosophy to every area of my life.

2. You Will Achieve More By Working Less

A lot of people make the mistake of approaching their daily to-do list with a reactive state of mind. They take on too many tasks on a daily basis, many of which are unimportant. When they look back at what they have accomplished, they are surprised by their lack of progress.

A solution is a form of minimalism called essentialism. The concept is simple. Focus on one to three tasks per day. Make sure they are the most important tasks that will make the biggest impact on the accomplishment of your goals. If you do this right, you will realize that you’re doing less work but getting more results by prioritizing and cutting out the unnecessary.

3. You Feel Happier and Less Stressed

Not so long ago, I was frustrated with my progress, both professionally and personally. I didn’t have quality friends, I wasn't earning much, and I was lost and without direction in my dating life.

It was confusing because I had always worked super hard in school and “done the right things.” After doing a lot of research on success, happy people, and the science of happiness, I came up with a simple mantra that has helped me a lot. It goes something like, “As long as I have air, water, food, a healthy mind, and a healthy body, I am happy.”

This mantra reminds me to lead a simple, happy life. By living this philosophy, I have become a much happier, more relaxed, and lighter person.

I Am Not A Minimalist And I Don’t Want You To Be.

Wait, what? After all, I have said, I’m now revealing that I’m not a minimalist, I don’t intend to be one. Why? I can't say that I would be happy with living a lifestyle of extreme minimalism, and that’s OK. What I love about some minimalist influencers out there is that they’re not telling you to become a minimalist.

Rather, they are encouraging that you adopt the minimalist practices that work for you. That’s where I stand. I will be rich one day and I will buy expensive experiences, but the items and services I do buy will be fewer than the average person, and they will be focused on memorable experiences, rather than a desire to hold onto possession.

It’s important not to swing from one extreme perspective (“Everything you buy has value so you should hoard it.”) to the other (“Nothing has value so get rid of it all.”). The truth lies closer to the middle.

Do you want to learn about the 5 areas of life where persistence pays off? If you want to master all areas of your life, you need to understand the value of persistence. However, it's not enough to know something. Life mastery requires that you actually live it, every day.

If you want to achieve anything in life it will require that you possess a killer combination of sheer willpower, determination, and desire.

When it comes to personal development and dating, I understand how important it is for men to develop the communication and confidence skills that are necessary in order to attract a partner into their lives.

When I was 21 years old I started a dating coaching business, that was designed to help men overcome the confidence challenges that I had faced in my own life.

That is why I wanted to invite Eddy Baller, a men's personal development and dating coach, to write a guest post to talk about 5 areas of life where persistence pays off.

Take it away Eddy!

I want to share with you 5 areas of life where persistence pays off. How many of us have embarked on a new journey to accomplish something big, only to become disillusioned and quit when it didn’t work out?

The human mind is notoriously bad at making time predictions for complicated goals. Even showing up on time seems to be a challenge for some people. “I have time, I’ll just finish a few emails…”

The biggest challenges in life usually require a lot of time, and it’s hard to predict how much time. The key ingredient which separates the cream of the crop is persistence – the raw determination and grit that comes from sticking to your goals.

Here are 5 areas of life where persistence pays off:

1. Dating

Anyone who’s ever gone on dates can attest to the fact that dating isn’t always easy. If you’re interested in finding the love of your life, it means going through a lot of ‘candidates’. Shyness and social anxiety can become a serious handicap for someone when it comes to dating.

Being successful in the dating world requires a number of skills, some of which include, learning how to approach women or men, conversational skills, body language, confidence, assertiveness, boundary setting, and more.

If you want to find a partner that is right for you, it will require persistence, in addition to mastering the above skills.

Action step: Get a dating coach or connect with someone who seems to have their dating life together. Learn how they’ve created an abundant love life and emulate their best practices.

2. Relationships

Dating skills are just the first part of our romantic journeys. Once we’ve found a long-term partner, we need a new tool box to keep the romance alive.

A lot of dating skills still apply; confidence, body language, boundaries to name a few, but now we have to learn how to share our space, grow together, and keep it exciting in the bedroom.

It also requires paying attention to our partner's communication style and learning their habits, so that we can avoid unnecessary clashes. This shows that we really understand them.

Action step: Dedicate at least one night per week as a ‘date night’. It’s too easy to get caught up in the business of life and family. Put aside time for a quality get together so that your bond continues to grow.

3. Business

Building a business is tough. There are a myriad of setbacks that are designed to test your ability to persist, which include lack of know how, lack of resources, not having the right people when you need them, bootstrapping, and more.

For those who stay in the fight, the turning point shows up as a change in focus, experience, and a new direction, which may not have been clear in the beginning stages.

Action step: Invest in business and marketing training. Too many people try winging it and end up quitting when it doesn’t work.

4. Mindset

At the age of 20, I was an extremely negative person and all of my friends were negative too. Every day I played the same record in my head. It was always, “people suck”, “rich people suck”, “everything is expensive”, “the weather is no good”, and on and on.

I became tired of my own attitude and wanted to change. I knew that if I kept hanging out with the same people I wouldn't be able to grow. So I decided to start from scratch and distance myself from my old friends.

I set out to learn better social skills to make friends, meet women, and change my mindset. It took years to make serious progress, but the alternative was unthinkable.

Action step: To create a more positive mindset, work on reframing negative thoughts on a daily basis. Just look for the positive angle to the thought you were in the middle of. Do this daily and soon you will start thinking in a different way.

5. Emotions (EQ)

Emotional intelligence, or EQ, has a huge effect on our social success. It allows us to read other people's feelings, understand ourselves, and communicate effectively. People that have a low EQ have weak connections with others.

On the other hand, people with a strong EQ have healthier friendships, romances, and business relationships. When you learn how to master your emotions, you master your life.

Action step: Start by learning more about your own habits and emotions. How do you react to different situations? What happens to your body language when you’re feeling positive or negative emotions?

These are 5 areas of life where persistence pays off! What is one area of your life where persistence has paid off for you? Comment below and let me know!

How do you find and live your calling?  Let me begin by sharing a story with you.

There are three bricklayers that are asked the question, “What are you doing?”

The first bricklayer says, “I’m laying bricks”.  The second bricklayer responds and says, “Im building a church”, and then the third bricklayer responds and says, “Im building the house of God”.

Out of those three different bricklayers, the first one has a job, the second one has a career, but the third one has a calling. I believe that most people identify with having a job or career, but there are very few people that identify with having a calling in their life.

A calling is your mission or purpose in life. Its something greater than yourself.

The question is, “How do you find your calling?”

Those three brick layers are all doing the same activity.  They all have the same “job”, but each of them has a different perception of it. You can find your calling through learning and self-discovery, but what if you found a deeper purpose and meaning in what you are already doing? For most people, they are in a job that they hate, but its oftentimes because they havent associated a meaning to it.

Without an empowering meaning in what you're doing, you will not experience fulfillment. Oprah Winfrey once said, “There is no greater gift you can give or receive than to honor your calling. Its why you were born, and how you become most truly alive”.

I believe the ultimate calling that we all have is making a contribution beyond ourselves. The reality is that every job that exists on this planet, involves making a contribution. The only way to make money is to contribute. Every business has a vision, a purpose. If you associate more to that vision, and the impact that you are ALREADY making, you will feel inspired.

If you went from laying bricks to building the house of God, what would that do for your life, your happiness, and your overall fulfillment? A lot of people wait for some big purpose to show up in their lives, and then they think that will be the moment when they are truly happy. The reality is that you can live your purpose in the little things that you do.

In my life and in my work, I make sure that I associate everything that I do with a higher purpose. Ask yourself, “How can I find and live my calling in what I am already doing?” When you realize that everything has a higher purpose, you no longer view things as a chore.  Instead, you view them as gifts, a stepping stone towards your calling.

Its time to ignite your passion and find your calling. The world is waiting for you.

Video transcript

All right, guys. I've got a story for you real quick. There are three bricklayers that are asked the question: what are you doing? The first bricklayer responds and says that I'm laying bricks. The second bricklayer responds and says that I'm building a church. Then the third bricklayer responds and says that I'm building the house of God. Now, out of those three different bricklayers, the first one that says I'm just laying bricks, that one has a job. They have a job. The second one that says that I'm building a church, they have a career. The third one, the third bricklayer that says that I'm building the house of God, they have a calling.

I believe that most people we identify with having a job or a career, but there are very few people out there that identify with having a calling in their life. A calling is your mission in life. It's your purpose. It's something greater than yourself. I think it's something that we all ideally want. Everybody wants to find their purpose. I did a great video on my YouTube channel that shares how to find your purpose in life. I recommend looking that up.

How do you find your calling?

How do you associate to that? How do you associate to a higher purpose? These three bricklayers, they're all doing the same activity. They've all got the same “job” where they're laying bricks, but each of them had a different perception of it. You can find your calling from experimenting and trying different things, and learning, and self-discovery, all those different things that I recommend that you do. What if you just find a deeper purpose and meaning in what you're already doing?

Whatever you're doing right now, the job that you might have that you might despise or nine to five, what if you find a more empowering meaning and purpose in it, something that would associate more joy, more fulfillment to what you're doing? For most people, they are in a job where they hate what they're doing but it's often times just because they haven't associated a meaning to it. They haven't found an empowering meaning. Without an empowering meaning in what you're doing, then it's not going to give you any fulfillment.

If you're maybe a janitor, you work at a school, you're a janitor, you could view that as I just cleaned the school, I cleaned the bathrooms, or you could realize that your role as a janitor, even though it might be a job that's not very prestigious or anything like that, but realize that you're making a difference beyond what you recognize. Realize that you're creating an environment that is supportive of the education and the well-being of children, and helping them grow, and develop themselves and their lives. That's not just being a janitor. You're doing something bigger than that.

I sell cars for a living. You do something more than that, man. If you're selling cars, you've got a bigger purpose than that. You're changing people's lives. You're providing a vehicle, a method of transportation for someone's family for the next 10 or 20 years that is going to create incredible moments and memories for people's lives for many years to come. You're not just selling a car. You're doing something bigger than that.

You see, I believe the ultimate calling that we all have is making a contribution beyond ourselves. The reality is every job that exists on this planet involves making a contribution because the only way to make money is to contribute. Every job, you're contributing in some way. You're contributing to your employer but you're also contributing to a company. Every company, every business has a vision, a purpose. It makes a bigger contribution.

If you associate work to that, the vision, the impact that you're making already because you're already making an impact. You're already making a difference in people's lives. I don't care what you're doing. Whether you're a janitor, you're making a difference or helping people. You're making an impact. Whether you're selling a product, or service, or providing a service, whatever that is, you're making a difference.

Again, most people, they don't associate with that. They don't realize the meaning in it and realize the power that they have already. If they were just to change their perception and realize that you can go from laying bricks to building the house of God and have a different meaning and purpose behind what you're doing, what would that do to your happiness? What would that do to your life?

What would that do to your sense of fulfillment?

A lot of people, they're waiting for this big purpose just to show up in their life. When this big purpose finally appears, then I'm going to finally be happy and that's going to be … I'm going to live my life on my purpose. They don't realize that you could live your purpose in all the little things. All the little things that you do serve a purpose, and they contribute.

For me, my life, there are many things I do throughout my life but I make sure and identify in everything that I do as associating with a higher purpose. The food that I eat and put in my body is serving a higher purpose because when I put healthy food into my body, I'm nourishing my body and cleansing my body. I'm giving it the vitality, the energy, the love, whatever it needs to help me operate at a higher level so that I can do what I do serving you guys in this video.

I can be around to a hundred years old and I'm going to have the energy, the passion to be able to make a difference. When I do a mastermind event and I go all day speaking in front of an audience is because of that food that I put in my body, the supplements, all those little things. The water that I drink, that serves a purpose to contribute beyond myself. Everything serves a greater purpose.

When I read books, I'm not just doing it for myself. I'm doing it so that I can serve. I can make a bigger difference and make an impact. Even when I watch TV, if I play video games, you know what? That still serves a purpose because that serves the purpose in allowing me to relax, and disconnect, and escape in many different ways so I can recharge myself so that I can put myself back into the world, and I can fill myself up so I can rip open my business and change other people's lives.

When I go to sleep at night for eight hours, that serves a purpose, an empowering purpose. I'm not just sleeping. I'm recovering my temple, my body, this vehicle that I express life through that allows me to be able to do what I do and serve people at a higher level.

When you realize that everything has an empowering purpose, you no longer dread things. You no longer view things as a chore. You view it as a gift. You view it as something that is just a stepping stone that has a bigger meaning, a bigger purpose that's part of your calling. If you can find that purpose in everything that you do, your current job …

Maybe you can go from hating your job to actually enjoying it, actually maybe realizing there's a lot of benefits that you're getting from this, not just financial, but you're making a difference, and you can associate to that difference that you're making. You could feel proud of that. You can see the impact, the results that you're having or you could just have faith and know that you're making a difference in the world.

Conclusion

I make an impact in people's lives. Most people that watch my videos, they don't leave a comment. Most people are very passive. Usually only like less than 10% of people actually will comment or send an email and share. Most people you're making a difference for, you don't even know that you are. Maybe it's people that are buying a book that you might have, or a resource, or a product, or whatever it is. You might not directly hear from them, but you can have the faith that you know that you're making a difference.

There are many people that have come up to me and said, “Stefan, my God. You've changed my life so much.” I'm like, “Wow, really? I had no idea.” People out there that exists I’m like, wow, cool. I'm making a difference I don't even necessarily sometimes even know it. There are people out there maybe right now that are watching videos that I've had many years ago. They are receiving value from me.

My point is it's just finding it and associating to it. It's as simple as that, guys. How can you, not only find your purpose and just continue on that path as well but how can you find the calling, the purpose, the mission in what you're already doing, the meaning, the empowering meaning in what you're already doing? You can always find the empowering meaning in whatever life offers. It's up to you to find it. It's there. You just got to dig deep enough for it, and realize it, and associate with it.

Thank you, guys, for watching this video. Leave a comment. Let me know what you guys think. Hit the thumbs up button if you guys enjoyed this. Subscribe for more videos. If you guys want more from me, the different resources that I have, go down in the description. Click the links. I've got a lot of great resources that can help you improve your life, take it to a whole new level. Thanks for watching.

I'm recording this video today for all the teenagers that follow me online. If you are 18 years old or younger, and you are at a position in your life where you are looking for some mentoring, guidance, coaching, or a role model, then I am very excited to announce a brand new training program that I put together called, “The Project Life Mastery Teen Mentoring Program”.

This is an online virtual coaching and mentoring program that is 100% FREE. The reason why I was inspired to create this program is because, when I was younger, my life was totally different than how it is today.  When I was in high school I struggled tremendously.   I was unhappy and I didn’t know why.

I was shy, insecure and lacked self-esteem.  I got bullied at times, and I felt like an outcast amongst my peers.  I used to spend a lot of time alone at home, feeling isolated from others. I never had someone that was there to listen and understand the challenges that I was going through at a young age.

I lacked a role model who could help me shape my character and build the confidence that I needed, in order to overcome the bullying and the negativity that I was experiencing from friends, family, and peers.

It was when I discovered the notion of “self-improvement”, in particular, the work of Tony Robbins, that I made the decision to change my life. He inspired me to take action, in order to achieve my future goals.  He made me believe that anything was possible.

I too want to help others, who don’t have the means yet to invest in coaching and mentoring, to have someone who can inspire and challenge them to accomplish their goals and achieve their dreams.

If you are interested in learning more about this program, here is the link – http://projectlifemastery.com/teenmentoring

I'm looking forward to helping you, empowering you, and providing a role in your personal growth and development, so that you can take on new and exciting challenges in your life with confidence!

Hey, everyone. This is Stefan from projectlifemastery.com, and I'm recording this video right now for all the teenagers out there that follow me online. If you're a teenager that's watching this right now, and you follow me on YouTube, you follow me on social media, you follow my blog … Whatever it might be, there's some way that you've found and stumbled across my videos or my content in some way, and you're 18 years old and younger, and you're at a position in your life right now where you're looking for some guidance, you're looking for some mentoring, you're looking for some coaching, you're looking for a role model in your life, then I'm really excited to announce a brand new training program that I just put together.

It's called the Project Life Mastery: Teen Mentoring Program. Okay, the Project Life Mastery: Teen Mentoring Program. This is an online virtual coaching and mentoring program that I just put together that's brand new, and it's 100% free. Okay? There's no cost involved, 100% free, that anybody can join if you're 18 years old and younger.

I'm going to provide a little bit more information for you guys below this video. There's going to be a link where you guys can apply and join the program. We've got a little Facebook group that you guys can join, and it's going to consist of mentoring and group coaching calls in a private, secure, and safe environment where you can get some help, some coaching, some mentoring.

My life was totally different than what it is today

You can have a role model in your life, such as myself, to be able to help you in the challenging times you might be facing at a young stage of your life. The reason why I created this program and was inspired to is because when I was in high school when I was younger, my life was totally different than what it is today. You see, I'm 30 years old now, and I still remember back when I was in high school and I struggled massively.

I was depressed. I was extremely unhappy, and I didn't know why. I was very shy. I was very insecure. I didn't have any social skills. I didn't have much self-esteem or confidence whatsoever. I didn't know how to interact with people. I didn't, and I felt always awkward in social situations. I got bullied at times, I got made fun of. I felt like an outcast. Sure enough, because I linked so much pain to going to school and being around people and the peers, and I felt so isolated, that I isolated myself even further.

I used to just skip school and just stay at home by myself in front of the computer playing video games, or in front of the TV, or playing on my PlayStation because it was a way for me to escape. Sure enough, I didn't get good grades in school. When I was in grade 10, I failed science. I failed Science 10.  I barely graduated high school, in fact, and I didn't have very many friends. I remember the feelings of having a crush on a girl, that pretty girl in school, but just having no confidence whatsoever to talk to her.

I remember liking girls, and even having different opportunities, but just feeling so awkward and not knowing how to relate to the opposite sex, and feeling in many ways just being way behind, socially, and being able to interact with the opposite sex and other people. It was a huge struggle in my life. It was a big source of pain, and I still remember the depression that came from that. Just going home and crying, and it was a very challenging part of my life.

Tony Robbins and the decision to change my life

I feel very thankful, when I was 17 years old, that I discovered self-improvement. I discovered Tony Robbins, and I made the decision to change my life. I went on a journey of self-discovery, of learning and reading and wanting to improve myself, and I made a lot of changes, but throughout my life, I never had a mentor. I never really had a role model in my life until I was introduced to Tony Robbins.

I believe in the power of mentoring, as you guys know, that I share publicly on YouTube and on my content, the power of having a coach, a mentor. Someone to look to up to, someone that can guide you. I wished in many cases that at the early stages of my life, that I had someone like that, I had someone that I could communicate with, that could understand the challenges that I was going through, that could understand and help me overcome some of the challenges that I went through in my life, that could help me shape my character and build the right values, and character traits, and integrity, and honesty, and having the right mindset, the right beliefs, to overcome the bullying, the negativity, from my friends, from family, from other people, and help me process things.

Have someone that can help me get past that and help shape those early stages of my life. The reason why I created this program is because I suffered in my life, and I want to help other people that are younger that don't have the means yet to invest in coaching, to invest in having a mentor.

When you're at that young age of your life, you're going through such a transition where you're getting your first job, and you're discovering yourself, and you don't really know who you are yet, and you haven't really cultivated the right beliefs or the identity of who you are and what you're about, and discovering yourself in that process. I have a lot of experience at this stage of my life, and I thought it would be a great opportunity to be able to help other people to mentor teenagers that are 18 years old and younger.

To be a big brother

That's one of my goals that I've had is to want to be able to help younger people, and I've actually … As many of you guys know, one of my goals last year was actually to be a big brother, and I went through the interview process and got approved for it; but unfortunately, I wasn't able to commit to it because I travel so much, and to be a big brother locally, you have to be in someone's life and be consistent with that.

I thought, “You know what? Why not create an online virtual big brother program, called the Project Life Mastery: Teen Mentoring Program?” Again, it's open for anyone that's 18 years old and younger, that wants the help, the guidance, are open to it. If you know anyone, whether it's a friend of yours, or whether you're a parent watching this, you got a teenager, or a nephew, or a cousin, or whatever it is, then … Invite them to this program.

Like I said, it's free for anyone to join. It's going to be a year-based, a yearly program, where I'm going to commit to you guys for a year, and longer than that, and to be able to put together online coaching, webinars, and live streams, and the Facebook group community that we have, and I'm going to bring in different mentors as well.

I'm going to bring in my girlfriend. I'm going to bring in other leaders that I know, and successful people that are really incredible that you guys can relate to. Bring those people into the program also, and so that you guys can get multiple sources of mentors and learn and grow, and have a safe place where, if you're going through a challenge in your life you're struggling with anxiety or fear or insecurity, your confidence, or self-esteem, or social skills, or dating, relationships, whatever it is … bullying, negativity, if you're struggling with that, then this is a safe environment where I can help you get past it.

You can have someone that cares about you, that's sincere, that's authentic, that genuinely wants to help. That's why I'm doing this and sacrificing and giving my time because I want to make a difference. I want to help other people that are struggling in their lives, and especially the ones that don't have the means to invest in a mentor or a coach.

For young people, that need the help in their lives

If you guys are interested in this at all, and like I said, you're 18 years old and younger, then I want to give you guys a link that you guys can go to and request to join and fill out the application for. Then you'll be able to join the Facebook group, and we're going to be doing live coaching calls, and everything, and I'll be able to communicate with you that way. All you have to do is just go to projectlifemastery.com/teenmentoring, okay?

I'll have a link below this video that you guys can click through and head on over, by going to projectlifemastery.com/teenmentoring. Okay? Go to that website there, fill out the applications. It's going to ask you for your name, and your age, and what grade you're in. For me to get to know you a little bit, make sure … I want to know what your challenges are and what you want to get from the program, and make sure …

If you're over 18 years old, you're not allowed in this program, because it's not really for you. Again, it's for people that are 18 and younger, and I want to make sure that I'm able to serve and to be able to help and play a role in your life. I want to thank you guys so much. Look forward to having you in the program. Again, this is a message for those that are 18 and younger, a teenager, and if you know anyone else that could benefit from this, pass this along.

Pass this along to your friends, your family members, people that need the help in their lives, and they're open to it. Thank you guys so much. I'm looking forward to being able to help you and serve you in some way and play a role in your life. I really appreciate you, and I'm really excited to be able to have a chance to get to know you. Take care.
